I had the pleasure of attending La.Luna today for their sunday brunch. Wow talk about delicious. I totally wish I had taken pictures. We started off with breakfast.I had scrambled eggs , benedict , bacon , sausage , some potatoes , it was delicio. We then switch to lunch.I had shrinm cocktail, along with eggplant, wrote a teeny, and seafood salad definitely delicious and very fresh. We\nThen switch to dessert.I had creme brulee and a slice of cheesecake, delicious.We then noticed that there was a whole section that we had missed with sliced roast, beef and other deliciousness, and we missed it.I was already too full to even bring my plate over there. Went for dinner arrived no hostess to be found.Waited 10 minutes no lie boyfriend had to search someone out. Finally got seated Kate took our order boyfriend ordered Chicken Parm she said ok then on to me Wait boyfriend asked do I get pasta she said what do you want??? He ordered spaghetti We didn't even ask if salad came with orders. No mention of it. I ordered Zuppa di pesce. Drinks came . Patiently waited like 10 minutes . Sam another Waiter said OH MY let me go and see why there was no water or bread. Finally garlic knots water and salad came out All at the same time.Kate said sorry was pre occupied. Sam came over and said everything ok now. I asked for more salad dressing which he got for us. Food came out rather quickly. Nothing great but edible. Funny my Zuppa di Pesce was served over spaghetti. Which I didn't want wanted Linguine.But was never asked. finished dinner Kate said want Dessert.we declined.Maybe would have if we were shown it. Admired how Sam bought out the dessert tray and sold our fellow diners chocolate cake. Which I overheard the gentleman say didn't want it . But glad they took Sam's recommendation and ordered the chocolate cake. Over all bill came left 15% tip. When walking out gave the 5% of Kate's tip to Sam . He went above and beyond and brought us two well presented small sized entrees. I love the calamari and bruschetta we tried. We went on a Saturday for dinner and there was a live band. Came here for brunch based on all the positive yelp reviews, and like most helpers, I will agree that the spread was quite dynamic, but the quality of food was just mediocre. The carving table consisted of roast beef and ham, and the roast beef, although nicely cooked, was just too chewy. The Vaca sauce pasta with peas was actually quite tasty. Well, the other pasta was super bland. The muscles, calamari and clams in marinara sauce was just OK, Ford had a little fish taste to it, and the calamari was ratatouille and the clams were excessively small. The cold salmon was nicely prepared, and I seem to overindulgent that to make up for the flavor and taste of the other offerings. The eggs Benedict seemed appealing, but after trying them, they were very dry, and the betnaise sauce was really lacking and seemed to dry . The session was great and offered some good add-ons, but I'm not coming to a brunch for $39 for an omelette station! Was my first time coming here, and I was a little bit underwhelmed with this brunch and really don't see myself returning for dining experience.. read more

We chose La Luna for our Thanksgiving dinner having eaten there before and thinking the buffet would be a good idea. Entering there was no aroma of traditional Thanksgiving but rather a lingering seafood order. The dining room was set rather nice and after a complimentary Holiday drink we headed to the buffet. It was extensive offering something for everyone with seafood being plentiful thus the odor. Eggs, seafood, traditional stuffing, stuffed shells, ribs and more but all were room temperature. I had my car serviced across the street so rather that wait there I figured lunch was in order. I was alone and sat at the bar which was welcoming. The place is comfortable with a bar on one side and a dining room on the other. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich that came with fries. The sandwich was good and the fries were great. Sat in the outdoor which needed a bit updating. Server was very pleasant and accommodating. Took our order in a timely manner. Salad had a tasty house dressing on it. We both had the spaghetti with clam sauce. Good size portions. Very nice serving of fresh clams mixed with chopped clams in a white sauce. Ended up bringing 1/2 home. Topping the meal, they served garlic knots with a very tasty dipping sauce to enhance the flavor. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. This place has an amazing brunch not quite waters Edge but for the shoreline highly recommended. Beautiful inside very spacious. There are many options, sorry I will take pics next time but i forgot. First time here and definitely will not be returning. The service is HORRIBLE. Sat at the bar and it wasn't busy. The bartender was more interested in taking shots with customers than taking our order or checking in with us.... Counted her taking 4-5 shots during our meal. The garlic rolls were stale and dry. I wouldn't feed it to my dogs. Pasta portions are small but did taste good. Cafe Fiore is way better than La Luna. Highly do NOT recommend to anyone. read more

This evening, four of us dined at La Luna & boy was it great. I had Bruschetta for an appetizer, Linguini with a lobster cream sauce & clumps of lobster meat & for dessert, I had a Creme Brule. A saxophone player played some great Christmas music which he did not play loud so that everyone was able to enjoy the music & still have conversations with each other. Hi all! I have NEVER complained on here. I am a small business owner so if anything I appreciate and support local businesses. However, I feel the need to put this out there. I had Easter reservations for 10 people at noon. I was away this week and even called to confirm. Upon our arrival they said they had tried to call and confirm - and they had no place for us. I stated maybe it was there mistake , as why would I confirm while on vacation and still show up. Not only did they not accommodate us the following happened 1- I spoke to a man waiting and he said the past two years they did that to them- ( why he went back in not sure) 2- they were willing to accommodate us for Mother's Day ( I said I would t return) 3- the lady Marge was trying to figure something out and the manager Shea didn't do ONE thing to try and do anything - not sit at the bar- not we can find a table and do this- nothing- and to boot she wa rude and cold When I left I said thanks for ruining Easter for 10 as we had no place to go. Horrible experience!!! We walked in and there was nobody to greet us. We literally called on our cell phone after waiting 10 minutes and somebody meet us at reception. We opted to sit in the bar area where our drinking glasses were upside down on the dirty table. They brought us garlic knots which or flavorless (like cardboard) and undercooked. Our salads came out and the house dressing which was supposed to be a balsamic vinaigrette tasted like they forgot to add the balsamic, It was just a weird flavor. I ordered Veal Saltimbocca and they brought me chicken Saltimbocca. They corrected the order and it was subpar w/ room temp mashed potatoes. My wife ordered the linguini with clams and a white sauce. The clams were horribly over-cooked and like chewing on bubble gum. We told our waitress and she took the plate away and the manager came over relatively aggressively and asked to us what was wrong with it. When we explained it was chewy he stated that is just the way it is and if we make you another one it's gonna be the same way. We opted for an eggplant parmesan substitute which came out shortly after and was barely warm. The pasta that came with it tasted like it was soaking in water for days and was flavorless and waterlogged. We couldn't wait to leave it will never go back there again. read more

Me and my family enjoyed dinner here. We ordered Fettuccini a La Luna, Penne alla Vodka with Shrimp and a custom white sauce spaghetti with chicken for the little girls. All three items were very well made and delicious. The lobster was loaded with meat. Keep in mind, our food took over 30 minutes to arrive; I personally don't mind that because it almost always means that food was cooked fresh and not heated in a microwave. The location is prime with ample parking space and pretty close to Branford (where our hotel was). read more

Don't go there. One of the most awful date nights we've had. We were given the full menu, when I asked about wine he server didn't offer the list just one variety. It came in a dirty glass! There was no crab in the crab cakes! My dinner tasted like soap. Sent it and the dirty wine back amd none of it was taken off the bill. read more

Good ambiance- clean, and bright. Drinks were excellent. Salads and garlic knots were delicious. Entrees a bust. We had scallops over lobster risotto- it was sent back because scallops were not cooked. Poor favor. We also had what was suppose to lamb lollipops as an entree- they were lamb loins paper thin that were over cooked. Terrible. Quality was not there. Also we had to ask for more water and waited 10 mins for it to come. Although the waiter was nice, he couldn't handle the number tables he had. We will not be back. read more

Just had the Sunday brunch buffet at La Luna's. Let me start by saying that the food was varied, delicious, and plentiful. I regret that I cannot say the same for wait service: ours was mostly entirely invisible for long gaps in time ( We had to look for them to even get our check! ) It appeared the wait staff relied on the bus staff to do their job; and while our bus girl was helpful, she was unavailable for long periods of time as well. It was an unnecessarily frustrating experience. I have had better customer service at other brunches nearby.It will be a while before my wife and I return. read more

I thought the food was very good. We visited on the July 4th holiday weekend for happy hour. We had the sliders, seafood stuffed avocado, bruschetta, lamb lollipops, and stuffed mushrooms. The atmosphere was nice and they had a dj. The staff was nice but not as attentive as I would like. I would give more stars but I'd like the staff to check on their customers more. The restaurant is clean and the service good. Holiday atmosphere not over the top. The prices charged and portion received were way out of bonds. The fried Calamari $16.00 for a small portion was not worth it. The costing was alright but the sauce great. I ordered the shrimp with angel hair pasta. Had to send it back because shrimps were cold and pasta warm. Must have been sitting out too long waitress warmed it up but still the same temperature. $40.00 for prime rib should have been $20.00 for the size. Ordered 2. five ordered cheese cake slices were half the size that other restaurants serve. Very skimpy. Party of 10 on 12-24-24. 4 pm seating. What was nice the waitress circled the added tip to the bill. Would not return. Years ago when we went there the food was excellent. Don't know what happened Forgot to mention salad served with one kind of dressing. The bread knots were tasteless but much better when added garlic butter to it. Made reservations for Easter Brunch on March 6th online and was advised two weeks later that they are cancelling my reservation. Reservation was made through their website with Open Table. Woman at La Luna explained that Open Table was not to take any reservations and they are now overbooked. Why wasn't I notified the day after I made the reservation? Went to LaLuna yesterday for Sunday brunch, it was always the best in my opinion. But its not the same, I dont know if theirs new owners. The food was delicious. But the hostess when we walked in wasnt friendly and was in jeans, white t-shirt and, sneakes like she was ready for ball game. I was more dressed up! Then when we got up to get the food they had the doors open probably because it was a nice day but bee's were flying in and flying around the food. Thats not a good idea having bugs fly around the food not to mention Im allergic to bee's. Then our waitress brought us he check before we were even finished, didnt ask if we want anything else which I did want another drink, we din=dnt even get up for desert yet. Felt very rushed! Just returned from a delightful afternoon at La Luna to celebrate our 50th class reunion. We enjoyed a great buffet. There was a wonderful selection of both breakfast and lunch items. The hot foods were kept hot and the cold foods were cold and on ice when appropriate. Safety precautions were in place . They provided gloves and masks to put on before entering the room where the buffet was set up. The waitress assigned to our table was very attentive. Thank you all for a great time! read more

The food is always good and consistent, if you sit in the bar area, as well like to do on Wednesdays when they have live dinner music, the service is a little sport since the only) bartender has to take orders, check on diners and serve food in addition to drinks. My family and I did an early Mother's Day dinner this past Saturday night. Our server was pleasant and efficient however there seemed to be a challenge with the kitchen getting orders out in a timely manner. It was over an hour before our meal arrived, the manager never took the time to explain or apologize. When our order did arrive, my daughter's meal was cold. Had to send it back. How disappointing. We ordered another glass of wine prior to dinner arrival and it took forever, when it arrived it was the wrong wine. Didn't send back at this point. I understand there are sometime challenges but it's the manager's responsibility to take control. Would have to think twice before returning. read more
