What a fantastic meal we had here! Felt like Mediterranean so decided to check out this place. First of all service was absolutely phenomenal. They want to ensure that you're having a great food experience. As for the food everything hit it out of the park! The Cretan Feta was potentially the most tasty appetizer I've ever had in all my life. The pita that came with it was freshly made when we ordered it and it was so soft and tasty. The feta itself was whipped perfection! They recommended drizzling their olive oil on it and what a game changer that was! Side note: they make their own olive oil! Apparently you can buy it on Amazon but we took some home direct from the restaurant. Back to the food - had their lamb chops (that came with perfectly cooked potatoes and veggies) and their meatballs. Both were outstanding. Finished it off with their baklava which was the perfect consistency and level of sweetness. The perfect end to our night. This is a small cute and perfect place to go with your girlfriends or on a date. Plenty of street parking (and we went at 6pm on a Wednesday). Will absolutely come back for their breakfast! Newly opened restaurant did not disappoint. Batu, the owner, was amazing. The food was fresh and delicious. The variety of options were perfect. The steak was tender and juicy. The cauliflower and potatoes were fried beautifully and flavorful. The dips were so yummy and the caprese was also just right. The drinks were excellent. The dessert was light and the coffees just hit the spot. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about Ludda. If you are nearby, you should not pass up this spot. Worth driving to as well. We just had dinner here... Ludda came to my email as a potential dining experience, saw the reviews, so we decided to try it! Made reservations immediately for this amazing dining experience. It says Mediterranean, but its roots are Turkish. We started with the shrimp and garlic with red and green peppers , amazingly delicious... then we went onto the lamb and beef meatballs that were so flavorful and juicy they were beyond anything I could have believed. Our final course were the Salmon and the Ribeye that were cooked to perfection... it was the most brilliant experience in dining I've havd on a while... coming from a 5 star dining experience in my past. Second visit to Ludda, and I'm starting to think I peaked too early with my first order here. Kicked things off with a lychee martini, which should have come with a warning label. It was *very* strong--one of those "am I tipsy or am I about to sign up for a dance class?" situations. Decided on the rib eye steak, asking for medium. What I got was closer to "rare," which meant I spent most of the meal chewing like a cow in a field. The vegetables on the side didn't help much either--totally unseasoned and screaming for some salt. Seriously, did the seasoning budget get slashed? But hey, the outdoor seating was lovely, and it's prime real estate for people-watching (my favorite sport). The service was solid, too--friendly without being all up in your business. I glanced at the baklava but decided to save it for next time. Given how much I enjoyed the branzino on my last visit, I should've gone with that again. Moral of the story: stick to what works, and maybe carry some emergency salt packets in your bag. read more

we were in the neighborhood and I found this gem through yelp. I don't review many places but the food was soooo good, lamb chops cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of rosemary and salt, buttery/nutty rice that would be my go to comfort food if I lived close, the roasted cauliflower and mushrooms perfectly charred and bursting with flavor, the onion salad beautifully crunchy and spiced and the lamb kebab balanced in flavor and texture. So, this was our first time at this spot and will be our last. While the service was fine and the atmosphere was really quite pleasant, not one dish we ordered had any flavor whatsoever. I literally had to ask my lady if I had Covid since that can obliterate one's sense of smell. I'm not joking either. We ordered the truffle fries, the cauliflower and the grilled chicken - on my life, they all tasted exactly the same - that is to say completely tasteless. I grew up here in Los Angeles and I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant that has such bland food. I genuinely don't even know how it's possible to make food this bland. My lady agrees with me 100%. We just wanted to pay our bill and leave. We took leftovers which we will season and heat up ourselves. The presentation of the food was nice - but the lack of flavor was just astonishing. Adding this to reply to the owner: I was truly shocked. The presentation was great. Loved the vibe there, the music, the staff - but legitimately not one dish we ordered had any taste. Both my lady and I were dumbfounded by this. Wanted to try a new spot in the neighborhood last night (Friday) and we stumbled on this place and thankfully they were able to seat us without a reservation. It's a small space with a modern look and a family-owned feel that could nicely slot into the rotation as one of our local "spots". There's also a TV above the bar where you can watch the game or event of the day which manages not to feel too distracting or fratty. I was craving mediterranean food that wasn't too "heavy" so we started with the dolmas (bright & delicious) and cretan feta (tangy basil goodness). The feta spread was served with a piping hot, handmade pita that was satisfyingly soft & chewy. My husband opted for the burger and I ordered the branzino and we waited....and waited. During this time, the restaurant had gotten pretty busy and there was a disturbance by a table of guests having a loud row over politics that got a bit awkward. I think this might have thrown the staff off their game a bit as they tried to address the situation. The burger came more well done than ordered but the accompanying fries were deliciously salty, crisp and hot. The branzino was delicately sweet and served over potatoes, carrots and green beans with a perfectly sized cucumber-tomato-onion-feta salad. So refreshing and it hit the spot! Overall, the menu is well-priced and the food is tasty. Service was friendly and reacted well given the unfortunate guest situation which was out of their control. Even so, I'm so happy we stopped in! We didn't stick around for dessert, but we will definitely be back to try other things on the menu, including the baklava which looked divine! read more

I made a reservation of resy for 830. Called the restaurant to reconfirm the reservation and it was reconfirmed. I then had to cancel because we drove around the block for 20 minutes and could not find parking. When I called to politely cancel the reservation I was told I was a no-show and my reservation was at 8 PM. This was indeed the same person. I spoke to when I called to confirm the 830 reservation. He was rude and unapologetic for his mistake. Parking in this neighborhood is an absolute nightmare. I ordered a glass of wine, a shrimp casserole, and a side dish of grilled vegetables, all of them were pleasingly good. Also, the portion size of each dish and a glass of wine was good for me. My friend and I were looking for a nice place to have a bite to eat and a drink before going to LA County Museum. I found Lud'da on Yelp searching for happy hours near Fairfax. It's a smallish place with a few tables and several seats at the bar. I tried a cocktail from the HH menu, the Cairo. My friend had a nice spanish red wine. The owner gave us a complimentary tasting of Muhammara, which was delicious. We also had the cauliflower and the shakshuka. All delicious and beautifully plated. He also recommended the baklava to us, which was deliciously studded with pistachios. Absent were the flavors of rosewater or cardamom that Persians put in their baklava, letting the pure buttery goodness of the pastry and the nuts shine through. As we were leaving, we saw someone get the whole Branzino which looked so good we will have to try that one next time! The owner said this place was new, only open a few months, so I wish them well, as it's a tough business to be in. read more
