I decided to kick off DineLA at LadyHawk. I have been to LadyHawk a few times now and have yet to be disappointed. I really like the Art Deco-inspired atmosphere, which feels like a nod to old Hollywood. It is upscale without feeling stuffy, with warm lighting, wood accents and a beautifully designed dining room. They also have a great cocktail menu with a lot of interesting choices. What I especially liked was that there weren't a lot of drinks that looked overly sweet. I ordered the Passionfruit Sour and was impressed before I even tasted it. The presentation was beautiful -- almost too pretty to drink -- and fortunately, it tasted as good as it looked. We went with the DineLA menu, which offered several choices for each course. We selected the muhammara and falafel to start, followed by the Black Tiger Shrimp, then the half chicken with toum. For dessert, we ordered the olive oil cake. Both of us left feeling very satisfied. In fact, we had to take part of the olive oil cake home. There was clearly a lot of attention to detail in both the preparation and presentation of every course. I hadn't tried the chicken on my previous visits and was surprised by just how good it was. Our server explained that it is marinated in labneh, which helps make it incredibly tender and flavorful. As with my previous experiences at LadyHawk, this felt like elevated dining. The service was equally impressive. As we were leaving, our server thanked us, the bartender thanked us, other servers thanked us, and the host asked how everything had been. I commented to my spouse that from the moment we approached the front desk, everyone we interacted with was genuinely personable and friendly. Great food, beautiful surroundings and top-rate service. We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend dinner at Ladyhawk. My family ordered several dishes to share so we could sample a little of everything. We started with the Zaa'tar Ma'noushe, recommended by our server, and it was the perfect way to kick off the meal. The Olive-Crusted Rack of Lamb my father-in-law ordered was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Two of us ordered the Half Chicken, which was incredibly crispy and paired beautifully with the accompanying sides. My sister-in-law's Dry-Aged Wagyu was rich, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor. However, the true standout was my mother's Whole Daurade. The seasoning and bright pickled sauce elevated the dish and made it the star of the table. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, and the entire meal made for a memorable celebration. read more

We choose hummus (made with chickpeas, lemon juice, tahini, and olive oil), muhamara sauce (a delicious dipping sauce for roasted red peppers and walnuts), grilled black tiger prawns, and a whole snapper (with hot sauce and pickled Fresno peppers). All the dishes were excellent and beautifully prepared. Note: The bill already included a tip. I didn't notice at the time and added a tip after seeing the tip section, resulting in two tips. Ladyhawk is an upscale vibe in an upscale hotel, in the heart of West Hollywood, and it's quietly a phenomenal place to have a mini appetizer cocktail mixer, to celebrate friends. We've been here for dinner, but I almost prefer coming just for cocktails and apps. The appetizers are the star of this restaurant, (even though the meats are pretty incredible). And the cocktails are phenomenal - the bartenders are so personable and observant, they really make you want to come back more often. After getting the check I felt pretty compelled to write a review for this restaurant. We ordered margarita with anejo, instead of blanco tequila, they substituted with Casamigo anejo and decided to just double the cocktail price. So one margarita was $43 plus tax plus tip!!! Now I understand why the place was empty. It's a shame since the restaurant is very beautiful and the service is good, the food is decent but way overpriced for what it is. Here is the breakdown of the food. Zatar bread tasted like soft pizza, not great. Way overpriced Dips (hummus, muhamara) ok. Octopus - tiny portion and not great Eggplant, corn - ok. Half chicken - very good Lamb-not so great. Haven't tried the dessert. Located inside the Kimpton La Peer, you will find Ladyhawk which is truly such a nice resteraunt. We were staying for the weekend for weho pride and saw the hotel had a Mediterranean resteraunt so we had to check it out for dinner. Service was on point here, from the hostess to the server and the table waiters, it was really great service. Menus had a nice variety which we appreciated. We decided to get a few appetizers and a round of cocktails. We tried the Za'tar Man'oushe and the mini mezze. They were both fantastic. The quality of the food was superb here. Then we found out the owener of the resteraunt won top chef so I can defenitly see why this place was so good. The cocktails we ordered were also so good! Overall, I will defenitly be back again. This restaurant is high energy, lots of friend groups sharing plates! We arrived hungry and fully overdid it. We tried hummus, carrots, shrimp, tabbouleh, octopus and potatoes. Yes there were only 4 of us haha - note that we did not stop there. Favorites from this for me were the carrots and shrimp and hummus was sooo creamy. The homemade pita arrives fresh and burning hot and the crudite was crisp and fresh. We also had the Za'atar Man'oushe which was pure heaven. The chicken with garlic sauce was heaven as well. I came here with my friend for dinner, and I'm so happy that we went. I'd first heard about Ladyhawk from Top Chef, the chef/owner having been a participant. The restaurant is in the La Peer hotel in West Hollywood. Immediately walking into the space, the ambiance is just beautiful. It felt spacious and warm. You feel welcome which isn't always the case when you try nicer restaurants. Just a heads up. It's West Hollywood, so parking can be a pain. We split several dishes among us. Beetroot hummus: This was my favorite dish of the evening. Beets can be sweet, but the hummus also had dill and tahini to make this a sweet and savory dish. Babaghanouj: We devoured this dish. It was so good, especially on pita. Fattoush: The dish itself was delightful, and was a nice addition to our carb heavy meal. Octopus: I believe our server mentioned that the octopus is marinated for 2 days, and then grilled over a bed of crispy potatoes. This was my other favorite dish, though I wish we had ordered it earlier in the meal since I was pretty full by the end of the meal. I would 10/10 recommend that everyone try Ladyhawk. First of all, the Hotel LaPeer, where Ladyhawk is located, is BEAUTIFUL. This is a great place for date night, and the food did not disappoint. We ordered: Beet Root Hummus Garlic Labneh Grilled Shrimp Octopus Batata Harra Everything was DELICIOUS. The batata harra had the most delectable potatoes. Crisp on the outside and fluffy and creamy on the inside. The texture was unreal. The grilled shrimp were HUGE. Plump, juicy and perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of spice. The octopus was so tender and flavorful. The beetroot hummus was smooth, creamy and the fresh baked pita could not have been better. I was so sad that the shawarma wasn't on the menu when we went. Just off the Lobby Ladyhawk patiently awaits for the booths to fill and the diners to chill. A happy Hostee greets you like an old college roomie who knew all your secrets. The dining room is a long slice of muted tones and soft lighting anchored by an open buzzin' Kitchen that is larger than the one at the Pentagon. The music loop is Lebanese lite that gently sets the mood for food. The Bar: Complex and complete. Signature cocktails that will have you scratching your head and hitting Safari to find out exactly what you might be drinking. There is a substantial carefully curated Wine List with interesting and unusual choices. Taste a few before you plunge. The House will offer you a healthy pour to try and then decide. You could sample two, eat a Pita, leave a Benjie and bolt, full as a tick. The Staff: As crisp as their black uniforms. Janet, my Server, was enthusiastic, bright, personable, delightful and charming. She genuinely enjoyed caring for her guests and was committed to making sure everyone in her section had an experience that was sure to have them returning. You'll never have to ask for more water, clean plates, or extra napkins, as it all just arrives when needed without needing to snap your fingers at the passing Runner. Who's in the house? As Ladyhawk is in the LA Peer Hotel can you guess where the Concierge send guests who ask for a dining suggestion? And there are the Top Cheffies who followed Chef Charbel all the way to the final showdown. The Food: Sublime is just a choice away. There are no mistakes in this kitchen. Ladyhawk is a love poem to the Lebanon, now lost, that existed before the troubles. The cuisine here is elegant and sophisticated even if it is something familiar. Za'Atar Man'oushe is a Lebanese Pizza. Here the dough is fermented for 48 hours and served with Wild Thyme. (So, for a Wild Thyme order a Man'oush to stretch out your tummy and your tush). Little caps of creamy Herbs and Labneh like Hersey Kisses dotted the top in a pattern. The Hummus is whisked together with Bits of Roasted Beets, Chickpeas, and Tahini. It was a bowl of throbbing day glow hot pink with a sprig of fresh Dill to make it just perfect. A tickle of heat will wink at you from a distance. The Babaghanouj is charred mashed Eggplant, Tahini, Lemon, and Yogurt that also has a slow crawl of lingering spice. A sprinkle of Pomegranate Arils added a sweet crunch. The short stack of warm Pita for taking a full scoop of the dips is a blessing to your lips. The Falafel is easy to make and easier to make poorly. It's often so dried out you'd be better advised to nibble on a Hockey Puck. And a bad Falafel will make you feel awful into the bargain. These perfectly formed crispy, crunchy, herby cakes are truly Mana from Heaven. They are served with a velvety Tahini Sauce, fresh Mint Leaves, and Halved Cherry Tomatoes all of which fits neatly, well almost neatly, into your Pita. And if you don't have the Sauce all over your shirt, you're eating it wrong so dive in. These Falafel should be offered by the bucket. Tabouleh Salad with micro chopped Parsley, Mint, Tomato, Quinoa, and Lemon is definitely not first date food. You are guaranteed clingers wedged in between your implant, bridge and capped front teeth. But, it is so good it's worth making a bad impression. The Rainbow Carrots in Hot Honey, Za'Atar, Labneh and Roasted Almonds was the Home Run. Brilliant . Were there slivers of Medjool Dates mixed in? I'll bet you my last LBP there were. The Batata Harra also must be ordered. They were thrice fried cubes of Potato with Garlic, Cilantro and Chilis. It is Ladyhawk Crack. Eat all you can and then take the rest home to top with Eggs al gusto for breakfast. Finally, the Whole Dourade was magic. A spatchcocked boneless filet with dots of Zhoug (Hot Sauce), and Labneh. You can't wish for a better fish and be rewarded with one this good. Australian Wagyu Picanha Schwama with Tomato, Parsley, Tahini, and Pickled Onions in a Pita would cause a Vegan to cancel their membership in PETA. 100% would recommend. The food is incredible - my favorite is the duck, za'atar manoush, the baba ghanoush. Chabel, the head chef, is so talented, the absolute sweetest man, incredibly hospitable, and the staff is also wonderful. Had to come to Charbel Hayek's Ladyhawk, as it is his first-ever restaurant and one of the hottest restaurants in Los Angeles! Reservations were surprisingly not too difficult to get, which can be a bit of a rarity in this city. Ordered quite a bit. For appetizers, we had the mezze platter, taboleh, za'atar man'oushe, and octopus. The standout had to be the mezze platter, which basically is every single mezze on the menu. Very authentic and perfect for our party of six people! The za'atar man'oushe was interesting as well, as it is Lebanese flatbread that is kind of like pizza. For our entrées, we had that dry-aged Rohan duck, Australian wagyu sirloin shawarma, and a whole darude. They were all good, but surprisingly my favorite had to be the darude. Lastly, we ended up having all three desserts: mango muhalabieh, strawberry cream top, and pistachio baklava. The mango muhalabieh is easily the most photogenic, but the strawberry cream top was my favorite. Service was great here! Our server was really nice and made sure that we ordered the right amount of food. And in fact, we had only ordered two desserts in the first place, but we were gifted the third dessert anyways. Appreciate it! Ambience is realy nice. Very modern looking with high ceilings. Felt very comfortable in here. Parking is a bit of a challenge since it is located in the heart of West Hollywood. It is located at the Kimpton La Peer Hotel, so street parking around here is tough. There is valet parking for $20 at the hotel as well, just let them know you're going to Ladyhawk. read more

Started with the large platter - generous portions of all the dips and a stack of pita - both hummus' were great and the baba ghanoush. Nice selection and plenty for everyone (we were a group of 6) fattoush was ok - smaller if ordering to share between a larger group and didn't taste as fresh and crunchy as I would have liked, chicken and tenderloin mini skewers were both good. We also added the special bread dish which is sort of a pizza style flat bread - pretty good I thought it was a little over hyped. All the apps sounded great and would love to go back and try more, nice varied menu. Mains - we ordered the duck - lovely and crispy and sweet - good portion for sharing, the wagyu steak - loved this - juicy with a delicious sauce smear, and the crusted rack of lamb - I'm not a big fan of lamb and these were delicious - must get, perfectly cooked and seasoned with a tasty crust, for a larger group I would add a few sides to this order - maybe some veggies for the perfect order. For the main course, we had a salad and the lamb chops, both of which were excellent. The lamb was cooked to perfection, tender, and full of depth. To finish, we indulged in the chocolate espresso cake, which was rich and decadent without being overly sweet-- It was a little more floral than I would have liked. Shwarma was ok 3/5, as were the two dine la salads and rest of the mezi platter. They also charged us $50 more than they were supposed to -5/5!!!!!! Great flavors! The menu has something for everyone. Loved the beetroot hummus and the man'oushe (make sure to order right away as they only have limited quantity each evening), octopus and lamb. We also had and liked the crudo, harissa chicken wings, halloumi, shrimp (the spiciness covered the taste quite a bit) and wagyu but the first items were definitely musts! I had the Dusty Rose mocktail and it's one of few actually good mocktails I've had! The olive cake with orange on top was also a great hit and awesome recommendation from our server! Mediterranean cyisine is usually associated with downscale felafel joints and with few exceptions, fine dining, such as Zahav in Philadelphia that is arguably its number one restaurant. The fine dining scene in LA has morphed from classical French to Asian fusion, Italian, Japanese, and other East Asian cuisines, catching the attention of a famed French tire company Perhaps the time has come for Mediterranean cuisines to come to the fire. I have seen excellent examples of Greek, Tunisian, and Israeli cuisines invading the fine dining space; in the Middle East, Lebanese is acknowledged to be among the best. Enter Ladyhawk, a post-COVID entry located in West Hollywood in the new Kimpton Hotel welcomes you into its elegantly furnished space resplendent with plenty of booths, banquette, and other trapping of comfort and ease. The service is attentive to a fault, gladly bringing out tasters of their intense Lebanese wines, that boast a 5,000 year head start over their California equivalents. Their wood fired grill and pizza oven were out to good use for their signature pita, hot and puffed into a sphere, though a bit flatter and chewier than pitas from other countries. The accompanying mezze included some classics such as baba ghanoush and hummous. Withe some interesting riffs such as beet hummous and classic muhamarra redolent with sweet peppers and walnutes. The Shrimp were grilled over a wood fire fulfilling their promise of flavor and tenderness. Standouts were chef Hayek's Za'atar Man'oushe, with 48 hour cold fermented dough topped with the colors of the Lebanese flag, a direct homage to classic Neopolitan Margharita pizza, and the woodfired dourade, fileted and served whole with a wonderful sauce that marriued umami, piquant, and citrus flavors. Dessert was the Olive oil cake, crusty and topped with homemade marinade, which devoured even though we usually skip desserts. If you come early you can usually find meters; otherwise you can valet with the hotel. Reservations recommended. Due to the high ceilings and furnishings, noise is not overwhelming. Being in WeHo, signature cocktails are plentiful and the wine list has eclectic selections from the new, old, and ancient worlds. My only gripe is that in keeping with changing tastes and their Halal clientele, they should also expand their NA choices taking advantage of some of the excellent beets and sparkling wines out if Europe. I came on Monday! Yes they seem to now be open on Mondays even at time of writing, most websites still have them closed on Mondays. It's located in the hotel so entrance through the hotel lobby. Metered parking out front or valet. Parking can be tough in the area so allocate some time. We got seated quickly and after looking over the menu once again my friend and I decided on a few items. We were really tempted to get the mezze platter but while we were intrigued by most dips, we didn't want them all so we got the hummus and muhammara. We followed that up with some veges with the fattoush salad and the arnabit tahini and finished up with the shawarma skirt steak. Winners: Arnabit tahini - I mean it's fried cauliflower with tahini sauce so you get the soul of fried foods with the extra fat from tahini that was garlic-y so solid solid dish. OK: Fattoush salad - Overly dressed but I see promise and if it was just less dressed, it is a solid salid. The pieces of pita added the crunch, the veges were fresh and it was just overall refreshing against the other dishes that were comparatively heavy Muhammara - I had this before at another restaurant so I just had to compare and I really enjoyed it at the other restaurant. I felt this version had too much what felt like pomegranate sauce/oil and it just didn't pack the punch from the muhammara I had previously. The walnuts might have also been ground too much where you lacked the texture that adds to the dip. Meh: Shawarma Skirt Steak - The meat was overall tender but after a couple attempts, the dish continued to be come out as room temp. Like the plate could be hot, and the steak looked warmed but you take a bite and it was room temp even after them bringing it back to reheat it. I don't know what happened but at least they canceled the order which was very much appreciated I really wanted to like the restaurant after watching Top Chef. The ambiance was great, the food was decent, the service was decent - sometimes attentive and sometimes not. I am not sure and semi-let down. read more

We had a marvelous experience at Ladyhawk. The service was amazing, and our waitress was so knowledgeable of the menu and portioning everything out. We had ordered the shawarma skirt steak, tabouleh salad, the garlic labneh with a side of pita bread, tuna crudo, and an order of the shishito peppers. It was the perfect amount for 2- (hungry) people! Ambiance felt expensive and daunting. The restaurant is located inside of a hotel, as well. Parking in this section of West Hollywood is competitive, and if you don't Uber or easily find a meter, I recommend you pay the $20 to valet at Ladyhawk. The host stand is inside the lobby on the left, and interestingly the bathroom is a short walk outside of the restaurant and across the lobby. We were able to get reservations a week in advance, even with how trendy Ladyhawk is. I first heard about it from Thrillist's most exciting new restaurant list for LA. I loved the ambiance inside, and we just so happened to go on a Wine Wednesday where they select two bottles to be half price, so it was bustling with a few large groups. We'd brought our own bottle of wine and they were able to decant it for us tableside, which was greatly appreciated. Chef Charbel Hayek was the winner of Top Chef Middle East and a part of Top Chef All-Stars, and our server informed us that the Za'atar Man'oushe and Ahi Tuna Crudo were two of the dishes that helped him win Top Chef, so of course we ordered both. Our server described the Za'atar Man'oushe ($19) as a bread, but it really felt like more of a pizza. The menu is a bit vague but describes it as "48 hour fermented dough, wild thyme, olive oil, tomatoes, herbs, labneh" and we were surprised and impressed by the presentation when it arrived, although we weren't blown away by the taste - it really didn't live up to the hype, but it was interesting with cream droplets decorating the center, topped with something from a vial table side, snd it tasted very strongly of dried oregano. Under appetizers, I do recommend you share two seafood dishes: the Ahi Tuna Crudo ($25) in cubes that reminded me of watermelon, with orange blossom, charred cucumber, avocado, and citrus, as well as the Octopus ($24) with crispy potatoes, chorizo butter, and lemon relish. Unfortunately, I disliked how sweet the Grilled Maine Scallops ($27 for 3 scallops) were. I prefer scallops with a savory sauce, and these were so sweet I felt they should have been listed on the dessert menu instead. The description lists vanilla, fennel, green shatta, orange, and puffed rice, but I still wish they included Sweet in the title or description. Our server did recommend ordering the octopus instead of the scallops, and we should have listened to her advice and just ordered the octopus, but as two people who usually love scallops I didn't expect I could dislike them so much. Under salads, the Seared Halloumi Salad ($20) was a generous portion size, refreshing, and great to share - especially if you enjoy a slight bitterness to your salads. It came on a bed of arugula, radicchio, and spinach, topped with tomatoes, avocado, and sumac. If they had an option to add chicken on top, I think this would also be the perfect lunch entree. From the Mezze section, I absolutely loved the Babaghanouj ($16) charred eggplant, tahini, lemon, and yogurt. Since I'm gluten free and couldn't eat the pita, they were able to do a 50-50 split so that I could have the lettuce cups, which were perfectly fresh & crisp. We saw many tables nearby with larger groups ordering the Ladyhawk Mezze Table Platter ($110) to share, which seems worthwhile if you're a larger party because it looks giant and includes a rotating platter of mezzes with pita. From the Wood Grill, we shared the Olive Crusted Rack of Lamb ($66) as our main entree, and we loved it. When ordering, they ask how you'd like your lamb cooked, and we went with medium-rare. The cut was definitely on the fattier side, but it went perfectly with the dehydrated olives and herb crusting and side of garlic yogurt. They brought out a sharper knife for this course, which was definitely needed. The server was very friendly and I loved her personality, but unfortunately they didn't come to refill our water glasses during our two hour dinner until after we had paid the bill and I was very thirsty. read more

Overall, this place is a great vibe with some delicious food. Unfortunately, they sat us outside under a bright tent. I was hoping to sit inside where it's darker and overall nicer. The outside is nowhere near the same vibe. The food was great. The tastes were unique and everything paired really well together. The steak was insane. It was fun to have the chef bring out one of the dishes as well. Service was slow, but our waitress was very nice. read more

Yes thank you! Best Mediterranean food I've had. It's the little things. I've had this food before but here...hummus is extra garlicky and perfectly smooth. Babaghanouj is just extra smoky and flavorful. Muhammara has pickled onions that cuts the richness and add acidity to the dish. Pita smells of yeasty and freshness of baked bread. Located nestled within a classy hotel, the restaurant is dimly lit and romantic. We had plenty of privacy in our seat. I was surprised by how cushy the booth seating is. The service was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our waitress gave us great descriptions and recommendations of different menu options. The pita was piping hot and fresh. The highlight of the meal was the Za'atar Man'oushe. As someone who loves texture in food, it was so satisfying - almost like a sesame type of texture. I highly recommend getting chili oil drizzled on it for a little kick. We also really loved the carrots - they were sweet served with a delicious cream sauce. My husband loved the falafel - it was packed with chickpea and perfectly shaped. My only wish is that it was served with even more tahini sauce. read more

Ladyhawk has such a cute vibe in the dining room. I wouldn't recommend sitting out in the patio during this time of the year. The hostess and the servers are great and attentive for the most part. I was slightly disappointed when one of the servers came by to take take our plates since our entrees were coming up, but she also took a plate of our appetizers that we actually consolidated without asking us. We didn't notice as we were having a serious conversation! Oooopsieee. Wish she asked us. Anyways the food overall was alright. The zaatar manaeesh, the halloumi, and the muttabal were so delicious and I would definitely recommend. We also got the chicken and the steak and they were okay. The steak did come out extra well done despite us asking for medium rare. The server and the manager however were very helpful about it and did bring out a well made medium rare steak instead. For dessert, the olive cake was delicious!!!! Definitely would recommend getting appetizers and dessert. Maybe skipping the entrees. Skip the falafel- didn't taste authentic to me and the wedge salad as it was literally a head of lettice on a plate with some dressing. read more

3.5 stars - Very pretty restaurant and the food and drinks are beautifully presented. I had been curious to try this place for awhile. The issue is that for the price, the food is hit or miss and should be executed much better. You're paying Bavel prices but not the quality. Also I dont like overly sweet dishes that are supposed to be savory. Part of the problem is that we listened to the waitress' recommendations for appetizers and her recs were the worst items. We ordered the octopus because the waitress said it was the best octopus she had in her life. Well either she does not know what good octopus is or they are completely inconsistent because we all agreed it was overcooked, rubbery, and disappointing. The only thing good about the dish was the perfectly crispy potato chunks. She also raved about the crudo and it was so bland other than the overly sweet pomegranate sauce. The signature za'tar manoushe was very unique and tasty - I like the fluffy pita, it's cut up like a pizza. The za'tar and sauce flavors are very intense though so my quarter "slice" of the pita was enough. The beet hummus was good, but they give you so little pita you have to spend another $6 for 2 more pitas and it's still not enough. It basically cost $50 for a couple pitas and hummus. The rack of lamb was a touch overcooked even though we requested the recommended medium rare. I was really looking forward to the dry aged duck. I'm pretty surprised they recommended it medium and specifically asked for it to be less cooked. The breast was still a little overcooked and the leg was very dry and tough. For some reason the duck and frisee were drowning in a pool of honey sauce so no one wanted to eat the frisee. There were some items that were good enough to try again but clearly a lot of the dishes are just not my flavor profile. If you value presentation and medium or well done proteins in sweet sauce this is the place for you. read more

On a positive note, the perfectly roasted Cauliflower with creamy nut sauce leaves a lasting impression. The Fish provides smokiness and a hint of jalapeno heat, yet lacks the promised spiciness. Overall, Ladyhawk's culinary journey presents both highs and lows, indicating potential for further gastronomic refinement. In terms of service, our server was exceptional, knowledgeable about the menu yet allowing us the freedom to order what we desired. Overall, I think there is still room for improvement, due to the high price tag, I'd give it 3 stars for now. read more
