We stopped by Hudson Cafe in Northville on a busy Saturday morning, and I was glad we had made a reservation. The place was packed, but the staff did a great job keeping things moving and seating people quickly. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food was solid overall. The portions were generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. My skillet was flavorful, but it wasn't served as hot as I would have liked, and the sauce was a little heavy-handed, which overpowered some of the other flavors. Overall, it was a good experience. I'd come back if I were in the area, but I have a pretty high bar for breakfast spots. I'd put Hudson Cafe in the same general category as First Watch. It offers reliable, good-quality breakfast with generous portions, even if it doesn't quite stand out as a destination breakfast spot.

I love this spot for breakfast or lunch . The food and service is always top tier. This is a good spot for friends and family. A nice clean breakfast or anytime spot .

The food here is delicious!! I went for breakfast a few times and my experiences have always been great. I recently dined in and ordered a vegetarian omelette with pancakes and fruit. Great food, service, and staff.

Decent breakfast spot. The best thing we had was the churro French toast. I also liked the potatoes. Everything else was ok. We started off with coffee which was decent. We had the Baja breakfast omelet, huevos rancheros, and a cinnamon roll pancake in addition. The pancake was nice and fluffy however I did not think it had enough cinnamon flavor - it was very bland. Our service was great - quick and attentive. We were seated quickly around 10am on the weekend. It's a nice breakfast spot with solid food but nothing I'm dying to come back for.

Generous portion came out quickly. Fresh fruit, creamy yogurt, and crunchy granola- what's not to love? Delicious. Can't wait to return and try the Hudson's salad. Nostalgic.

The food here is very tasty! The portions are large and the service has been consistently good. Greeted by a nice person upon entering and seated quickly. This was a busy day even though the weather was a bit frightening. I do recommend making on-line reservations to ensure your seating. A couple of issues on this visit. Listed on the kitchen specials, they mention two entrees that have blue cheese crumbles, I asked for some for my Hudson salad and was told they don't have any. This confused me. I am not sure If they are exclusively for those two entrees, the server was possibly mistaken, or they can't use the item for any other purpose. It just seemed odd. My Hudson salad arrived without turkey, I noticed it and the kind waitstaff brought the turkey so I was able to dump it on the salad. Unfortunately, the salad did come with a blond hair. I was so happy another person in my party noticed it on my fork before it entered my mouth. The French toast was very pleasant but I wasn't sure if the price of 16.00 was right for this entree. It seemed like a lot for what you get. I do appreciate the warm syrup! That's a nice touch. We tried the house made Corned beef hash and it was as delicious. Overall, the meal was good, the service was also pleasant even though they were busy. I give credit to the service team for being nice with a lot of customers. This visit wasn't as spectacular as my last, but still a sound experience.

The staff was great. The noise level was low and it wasn't busy since went later in the afternoon and they spaced everyone so you weren't next to other people. We were greeted from when we walked in by each staff and when we left. The food was great we told the server we were splitting the food and she told the chefs we were splitting the dishes. She brought the food already split evenly for us. We ordered the Downtown Club with Waffle Fries and the Hudson Salad (my favorite salad). Everything came out great. You were alike to taste all the flavors in the sandwich. They had all the ingredients evenly spread throughout the sandwich didn't get an empty section of bread. The salad amazing like always the Maurice dressing just makes the salad oh so good! Great service and taste!

We went here for breakfast and the place was busy! Service was fast! Menu has a large variety. Reservations can be made ahead of time online. Food portions are a good size! Place is large and they have a separate area for large groups too!

Excellent service, no waiting, the staff was super friendly, from the time you walked in until they sat you. There are so many food choices for breakfast and lunch. Their serving sizes was more than enough. The atmosphere was super friendly, not too loud, very cozy and friendly, I highly recommend it that you try it. We will be returning.

Service was a real star of our experience at The Hudson Cafe. We were greeted warmly and service was very attentive. Our server offered recommendations, refilled beverages and overall tried to make sure we had a wonderful experience. I tried the chai latte and it was very, very good - one of the best I've ever had and very flavorful. For my breakfast entree, I tried the bacon jam crepe, which had Brie, prosciutto, bacon, and a bacon habanero jam. It was tasty but pretty rich, so I might try something different on my next visit. The other members of my party ordered the Voodoo Benny and the Berry-Stuffed French Toast. I was impressed by some of the more unusual breakfast options and appreciated the care taken with both presentation and ingredients. With such a diverse menu, I can't wait to go back and try something new. Overall, a great breakfast option.

Came here for brunch with my friend. We shared the avocado toast, strawberry nutella crepe, and a side of their potatoes. The avocado toast was mediocre. The avocado doesn't taste fresh -- more like avocado spread that I have gotten from Costco. The crepe was very fresh and had the perfect amount of Nutella. It was definitely my favorite. To my surprise, the potatoes were well seasoned and cooked perfectly!

This place is always packed! Luckily, they are one of the few brunch places I know that take reservations, and I was able to get a party of 10 in without any issues. Our waitress was very nice and willing to split the bill several ways, which is always appreciated in larger groups. The food is great as always - the smores French toast is absolutely delicious, and the omelets are perfectly fluffy and stuffed. This is a great brunch spot!

Between the setting and the creative menu, it's a fun spot to try at least once. That said, the menu is pretty limited, so I'd probably come more for the ambiance than the food. Though, they do have my favorite style French fry! And the smash burger was pretty good. I'd definitely visit more often if they expanded the menu with a few more options. Not sure I'll come too often with their current menu options.

From Retro Bliss to Corporate Miss - 1Up's New Management Hits Rock Bottom…read more.. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. 1Up Arcade Bar, once my go-to haven for arcade nostalgia and friendly vibes, has devolved into a shell of its former self. Under the new management, the experience has gone from retro joy to something resembling a garish corporate money pit. If you're looking to relive the good old days of arcade glory, consider this your neon-lit warning sign to stay far, far away. First off, the bartenders. Remember last year when 1Up's bartenders were warm, cheerful, and chatty, making you feel like you were part of the family? Well, those days are deader than my high score on Pac-Man. The new bartenders treat you with the exact enthusiasm you'd expect from someone waiting at the DMV. Ordering a drink here feels like you've personally interrupted their day--and heaven forbid you ask any questions about the menu. Smiles? Gone. Friendly banter? Vanished. You're left standing there with your overpriced, uninspired drink wondering if you've wandered into a soulless high-end cocktail bar by mistake. Ah, the drinks. Once playful and creative masterpieces that added to 1Up's charm, they've been replaced with pretentious, unimaginative concoctions that scream, "We're fancy now; please empty your wallet." No fun, no spirit (pun intended), just overpriced disappointments. At their current price point, I half expected the drink to come with complimentary resentment from the staff. And don't get me started on the arcade machines. Gone are the iconic retro classics that made me feel like I'd stepped back into the golden age of arcades. Instead, the place is now stuffed with bright, flashy, wallet-draining horrors you'd find at a Dave and Buster's. What happened to the charm? The authenticity? Now it's just a playground for toddlers with no attention spans and those who value flashing lights over actual gameplay. Speaking of, if you're a Gen Z-er armed with your parents' credit card and an inability to go three seconds without dopamine overload, this place might actually be a dream come true for you. The rest of us? Not so much. Look, 1Up Arcade Bar used to be a gem, but now it feels like a soulless cash grab. Don't come here hoping for a genuine arcade bar experience because you'll leave disappointed--and poorer. Save your time, save your money, and spare yourself the heartbreak of seeing what this place has become. RIP, old 1Up. You are sorely missed.
