Nothing but good things to say about this place. I had an older Samsonite Carry on that lost a wheel in Hong Kong and I was worried the warranty process was going to be a complete hassle. I found them on Samsonites website as an authorized repair shop. I gave them a call expecting the worst. Luckily they were super polite, friendly, and reassuring. I brought my bag in and they handled the warranty claim and got my bag fixed for free. Saved me $500 from having to buy a new one. Additional notes: my repair took about a month since they were waiting for parts, so be prepared. It's also pretty far (halfway to the airport from downtown Denver), but they do have places they can pick up your bag from. read more

These guys are awesome. Not only do they fix luggage but they are also an authorized repair center for a number of brands. I recently had a Hey's 4WD hard case bag that cracked. Hey's directed me to Luggage Doctor to get my warranty work taken care of. Luggage Doctor took care of everything for me. They dealt with Hey's for all the paperwork and shipping. They also provided a free loaner (with no charges for damage) while I was out of a suitcase. I just dropped off three bags that had various and sundrie wheel, zipper, and handle issues... They were as road weary at the end of the year as I. There were three of us in the reception area. As Mary managed the woman ahead of me, three different employees came out from the back and with cheer in their voices asked if I or the woman behind me were "here to pick up?" I share this first because the positive nature of the employees, both to customers and to each other, stands in stark comparison to the place where I used to get my luggage fixed. In the old place, you could feel the crabbiness crawling out of the woodwork when you walked in the door. An even more surprising juxtaposition was that Mary opened each suitcase and looked for a serial number. In each case, she announced, "This is under warranty! It won't cost you anything to get it fixed!" I guarantee you that NEVER happened at the last place. ZERO times. They always just told me it would cost $XX (always double digits, always about 2/3 the cost of the piece). With my past provider, I would wrestle with whether or not to fix the piece, but decide to go ahead and do it, since I'd already made the drive to the location, then drive home feeling a little nauseous, kicking myself for not just going and buying something new. This time, when leaving Luggage Doctor, I felt a little bit like hugging someone... and I was also compelled to write a review on Yelp. These guys are worth the drive!!! read more

In the past I would have given a 5-star review. Their service has been excellent. The last couple of times I've been in, though, the finished work remains excellent but the customer service is noticeably slipping. It seems to be a business under stress. I don't know if they're trying to trim costs, whether they're selling and transitioning from a family business to a larger organization, or just what. But the service has gotten very slow for even simple repairs and the attentiveness of the staff is detached. They seem like people under great stress and it's affecting their product. A follow up... When I picked up my bag with completed repairs, The Luggage Doctor had signs in the windows posting notice that this location was closing and moving to another site of the same business. That explains my previous review. The repair quality was excellent, as always, and I believe the turmoil I noted was just given the pending move that I was unaware of previously. I'm an airline crew member and took my older model Travelpro in for a retractable handle repair. I explained that the bag held a lot of sentimental value, and they said they may need to use a different series handle since they weren't sure which year Travelpro it was, and the full handle would run about $75. I agreed and they estimated 3-4 weeks before I'd have my bag. A week later, I received an email that the bag was ready. They had replaced my handle with a plastic handle made by a MUCH cheaper brand. After one trip, the handle is already flimsy. When I called about warrantees, they stated 30 days on workmanship and NO coverage for any parts they used. Friendly staff but VERY lousy work and policies. I paid for a downgrade. Please find another shop or contact your manufacturer for recommendations. read more

I have a Samsonite suite case with a broken hinge that needed repair. I searched online and found the Luggage Doctor. They are an authorized Samsonite repair shop so if your suite case is under warranty or not they will take care of it. They have several drop off/pickup locations in and around Denver. I dropped off mine at the Cherry Creek Mall received an email confirming pickup & cost to repair. I got a phone call letting me know the work was done and I could pick it up. They are professional and bend over backwards with customer service. I brought in a 2 year old piece of luggage where two of the feet were totally broken off and another one was loose. I also brought in a very old Samsonite that was in very good shape, except the handle was broken. i had just returned from my mother's funeral and walking on eggshells until it's my stepdad's time to pass so I needed the luggage as quickly as possible so I could leave unimpeded when I needed to. They did a great job which gave me piece of mind as I am still juggling all the things that need to be taken care of. I will definitely come here in the future. read more

Nice people, but a business model that may not be right for you. I'm sure they are just great at providing warranty paid repairs for the high end of this luxury handbags business. They ought to have a way to tell us that's what they do rather than take a whole lot of time and effort to produce a $115 quote for a $3 yard sale bag. When that happens -- and it must often -- it would not kill them to offer references to repair shops with more of an off the street model. I think it would make friends -- and take a lot less time away from the serious jobs that give them such a high reputation. Update: I found a fantastic place for repair of the lightweight bags, less expensive that are not the forte here. Cheap, fast, friendly, informal. At Carousel Cleaners in Highland on W. 38th, walk straight through to the left, to the backroom where Nanette reigns. She does pretty everything that does not require heavier machinery -- uniforms, costumes, quilts, and of course lightweight bags. read more

I had tried Colorado Baggage in downtown Denver previously, and had a horrible experience. I decided I would make the trip across town to try The Luggage Doctor, as anything had to be better. I am so glad I did, as they are a great company! I needed a wheel replaced on a drop bottom duffel bag. The wheel had been previously replaced at Colorado Baggage and only lasted through one vacation. The Luggage Doctor actually replaced both wheels for less and did a better repair to stabilize the bag so the problem wouldn't happen again. I also needed a zipper repaired on a Travelpro tote. The repair was only $10 and works great! The business is family run and everyone was so nice and helpful. Their communication was great. They send an email with your repairs listed and estimated completion date. They called to let me know when they were finished. They made sure my repairs were done in time for my next vacation. I have already sent in my parents and two friends. I'm very thankful to have found a reliable and reasonable luggage repair shop. read more

Luggage Doctor went out of business in 2019. Prior to that, the rising rental market pushed them out of a storefront both in Aurora and Littleton. The business officially closed down just after the owner passed away, at that time they were a remote business trying to rebuild. As customers, we shouldn't know the struggles of the businesses we use, but they fought to keep their doors open as long as they could. Still, the Luggage Doctor gave much more than it took from any of us. They donated nearly 100 bags per month to many different charities, often fixing unusable bags to the point they can be re-used if the customer no longer wanted them. Their donated bags are all around the world, as is their goodwill toward others. The owner would hire people off the street for odd jobs to help them out, or buy extra food to hand out to the first person he saw in need. There's plenty of negativity in any business dealing with warranties, I believe Luggage Doctor focused on the good they could achieve. read more

Beware. Have used this business several times over the last 7 years. Been satisfied with their work. However, my latest experience was not good at all. They charged my credit card $140+ for a repair which was supposed to be paid for by United Airlines. Probably billed both, United Airlines and me. Initial contact via email remained unanswered. When I called and brought this to their attention, they said this was a mistake, said they would refund the money, but did not even feel the need to apologize. Probably the least organized, worst customer service I have received in a long while.I sent in two suitcases for repair in mid July and was told they weren't under any warranty. I wrote to the manufacturers who said yep they were. I was then told they misread the name of one suitcase and didn't deal with that one. I emailed for updates on the other and was told they were waiting parts. Months and months went by with no word. On re contacting them they are now telling me, oops sorry didn't get the parts, blaming it on the company. Maybe they could have told me that months ago! I wrote to the company to get the part and do the repair myself at home. The company answered immediately! I have used this location several times as recommended by the company who makes my luggage for repairs. Each time their work is perfect and this last time, they even fixed my bag on the spot! I have never had any issues with communication between them and my luggage company, they took care of it all. The only bad thing I would say is it is hard to find. These folks hit a home run in my opinion. I called an explained my issue with two broken wheels on a Timberland bag. I sent pictures as they asked and within 24 hours they contacted me telling me what they had in inventory and the cost. I called and spoke to Mary who handled the actual processing of the transaction and I had the two replacment wheels in my mailbox within 8 days of the original contact. I don't know how *anyone* can say that this place is organized! I needed a small (warranty) repair on an under seat bag. A seam needed to be stitched . . . probably no more than 4". I was told that it would be a very easy repair. When I dropped it off I told them that we were taking a trip and that I needed it in several weeks. They said that they were two to three weeks out, and to allow for perhaps an extra week. No problem. They told me that it would be ready by the 10th of May at the very latest, and that they'd email me when it was ready. The 10th rolls around. No email. I call them the next day, and they tell me that they haven't even looked at it. When was the *absolute* latest I could get it back, they ask? "I MUST have it by the 17th. I'm packing for our trip the very next day." I'm told, "I'll put it in the repair room immediately and email you when it is ready." The 17th rolls around. Again, no email. I drive to the shop to retrieve my bag. I have to have it regardless, fixed or not. When I walked in they leisurely tell me that it is not ready. They don't seem concerned. They're just stating a fact. Then, the gentleman walks to the back room and finds my bag. It is done. I truly do not know what is going on with this place. They are obviously very disorganized and don't seem like they're in much of a hurry to get anything done. And they didn't seem all that concerned with the fact that I HAD to have my bag and that it was (as far as they knew) not completed. If I was paying for repairs out of my own pocket, I would NEVER go to this establishment. With warranty work, I did not have a choice. I have nothing good to say about this place. Except that they could do a very simple, 4" repair, and get it completed in FIVE WEEKS. Shameful. read more

One of our suitcases was damaged around the pull-up handle on our flight into Denver while on vacation, and we were only in town for a few days until our next flight. We were in Aurora and looked up the nearest authorized luggage repair shop in the area and found Luggage Doctor. The three people we met there were some of the nicest people you could ever imagine. The technician fixed the suitcase (while we waited) so we could use it on three more flights until arriving back in Florida. Thankfully, the case made it through the rest of our vacation. The good people at Luggage Doctor saved my vacation. I was directed to them by Samsonite to resolve my luggage problem. They were very pleasant and helpful over the phone and in person. As you can imagine, I was pressed for time. No problem. They quickly determined that my suitcase was defective and explained the process to me. There was a bit of driving involved, since I had to make a trip to Aurora and then to the Samsonite store, but it was well worth it. This was the best experience I have ever had in regards to customer service for a piece of luggage needing repair. When I went there to drop off the Travelpro carry on, the gentlemen and I went over each item I had written down needing repair (I had a list because it was my husband's work carry on). He was genuine, knowledgeable,excellent customer service and really seemed to care and like his job! The other 2 women there were friendly, outgoing and also had great customer service! They kept me informed via email on the status of the service, and told me what was covered under warranty and what wasn't. *When I called them last Wednesday to tell them my husband needed it before today because he was going on a business trip,they told me that it would be ready on Saturday, 3/3/18. *Then, to make the experience even better, they called me on Friday and informed me that it was ready! *I highly recommend them and will always go back to them if i need service! We had two large suitcases where the zippers were getting hung up and becoming very annoying. The price of new bags was pretty high, so we looked into getting them repaired. Wow. Great service. I stopped in because both wheels fell apart on my carry-on suitcase. I figured I'd have to drop-off the suitcase and make another trip to pick it up in the future. I was nervous about not getting it back in time for my next trip. I posted a similar review on Google, but this place deserves as many good reviews as possible. This place has a great feel and did an excellent job. I had a Briggs & Riley bag (they do warranty work for them) missing a handle and with some internal broken parts. I'm not local, but was visiting family in Denver. I dropped off the bag, they took care of ordering parts and servicing it, and mailed it back to me (they even called to let me know they were shipping it) for a very fair fee on the shipping. Plus, just the interaction dropping it off was great - friendly and quite knowledgeable. The family I have in Denver (and likely anyone they know) will be heading here for repairs in the future. read more
