Went with friends to this new Italian restaurant in Redmond Ridge. We ordered drinks and each of us ordered something different. I had the spaghetti with bolognaise, others ordered the lasagne, chicken Marsala and cioppino. All of the meals were hot, fresh and tasty. The menu has many great items. Right now the restaurant is understaffed but slower service was okay with our wine and good friends. The wait-staff was friendly and responsive. Great place to eat. I lived here for 13 years and long lamented the lack of decent restaurants. Luigi's is a super welcomed addition to the neighborhood. I've had both the chicken parm and veal piccata. The veal was particularly delicious. The service was friendly but a bit disjointed, they had just opened. The serving sizes were generous. Went to breakfast a couple of months back. The food was not good and the service was pitiful. The cook did not show up that morning and they were scrambling to figure out how to serve our party of four. I am very surprised that Luigi's is still open. If there was ever a candidate for "Restaurant Impossible" with Robert Irvine, this place would qualify. I actually felt badly for the waitress who was trying to provide our service. read more

The service was slow, even though had a reservation. It seemed they were short staffed. The Brucetta Mista was made with plain bread and diced tomatoes and was not flavorful. We ordered a second glass of wine for our second course which didn't arrive until the meal was finished. The Caesar salad was not fresh and had an off taste. I would not go back. read more

Went here last night and if you think it's anything like the previous place, think again. It was delicious, and the server was very friendly. They got pretty busy while we were there and for good reason - we got the arroz con pollo and pollo asado and both had so much flavor, delicious rice and beans and of course tortillas. We love this place! First, the customer service is fantastic. The owners personally come out to check on us. The food is delicious. They have some familiar dishes but their specialty is southern Mexican dishes so expect grilled cactus and smokey peppers. They even have a few Mayan dishes which are delicious! Even their Aqua Frescas taste freshly squeezed. Every time we eat at Luigi's we have a wonderful dining experience. read more

I was so glad to have found this gem. I've been running into a lot of restaurants with great reviews and disappointing food, since I moved to the Redmond area. I went on a Tuesday night and it was very slow service due to not enough servers for a packed restaurant. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that servers were out sick or Tuesday is normally quiet. I had the special which was a $40 braised beef with saffron risotto and a fresh vegetable mix. Beef was a little dry, but the sauce made up for it -tasted like boeuf bourguignon with extra tomato paste. Risotto had perfect texture and they were not cheap on the saffron. Sauteed veg medley was tossed in an herb and olive oil mix that allowed it to be tasty by itself or dipped into the sauce. My companion had the pasta carbonara and they were happy with it. read more

Two important points: First, after eating here, I could not understand the positive reviews on this thread, so I scrolled down and learned the positive reviews are for the Mexican restaurant that was previously in this location, not for Luigis. Second, I waited a few days to write this review b/c I was so angry about the quality of our entire order, I thought it better to give it some time before putting up a review. We ordered take-out (which was picked-up promptly, which is to say it didn't sit in the kitchen losing its quality). The chicken piccata was inedible; I liken it to trying to eat a piece of sour rubber. After 3 bites we threw it away. The chicken parm was ok, not great, but edible. We ordered 2 desserts; apple strudel, and chocolate mousse. After 1 bite of each, we threw them away. The apple strudel was gummy with little flavor. The chocolate mousse was equally awful (if not worse) I'll call the consistency/texture of the choc mousse, odd, and, for lack of a better word, rubbery. I was literally able to press my finger onto the surface and it bounced back. In addition, the mouse was covered in what tasted like Hershey's chocolate syrup. It was awful in flavor and texture. In the past when we've had a less than stellar meal at an establishment, we typically give the restaurant a 2nd try. This meal was so awful we will not be giving Luigis a 2nd shot. read more

I've looked at some of the other reviews, but wanted to try for myself. First of all - the food is DELICIOUS! It is cute inside. Low on staff, but it's a tough time all around getting service help. That being said - they both were hustling, but had time to talk and give every table attentive service and they were SO PLEASANT! A couple people came in and wondered aloud if the place was open as no one was immediately at front, or making demands right away. I guess Redmond Ridge folk are just rude or impatient. I thought I left that attitude in Seattle. It's a nice restaurant people - relax and enjoy it! The bread was tasty and soft and warm, Cesar salad fresh, and the pear and Gorgonzola ravioli was incredible. I will definitely be back non the comment one reviewer had about loud hip hop music ???? What a yummy treat! The food was super fresh and flavorful without being overly Americanized. The chicken in the Arroz con Pollo was tender and flavorful. The salsa was fresh and chunky with what appeared to be roasted tomatoes. We were really pleased with the variety of flavors and a nice change from all of the Americanized places with yellow cheese and red sauce on everything. Nothing on our table came from a jar or a can! The service was fast and friendly, and that just added to our dining experience. We met the owner and he was super friendly as were all of the people we came across. Everyone checked on us to see if we needed anything and if we enjoyed our meal. We felt well taken care of without being smothered. The restaurant was clean. The music was nice in the background without being overly loud. Privacy was nice as it wasn't very crowded, but for the sake of the restaurant we really hope it will be crowded soon! We both left with a huge serving of leftovers. Looking forward to eating more delicious food from Luigi's tomorrow! PS The restrooms were clean, too! :) read more

First time here. The restaurant just opened a few weeks ago. Fabulous Italian cuisine. Three of us enjoyed great lamb chops, a ravioli with chicken special, and wild mushroom ravioli. We went out for an early dinner at Luigi's on Novelty Hill Road in Redmond with out-of-town guests. We had reservations that seemed to confuse the manager. The restaurant had been a Mexican restaurant before this with the same name. Luigi's? Mexican? Weird. Anyway, one of us ordered a martini with specific details and it came without his designated requirements. I had clams and linguini with a wine sauce. Out of every 10 clams, perhaps 2 had actual clams in them. I searched for others among the pasta and found none. Unfortunately, the dinner was a disappointment for everyone and, even though the restaurant is close to our home, we will not be frequenting it again. read more

I've never wrote a Yelp review before, but Luigi's is a new restaurant and I want to help support them! First off the staff is amazing, they were extremely welcoming and friendly right off the bat. The owner was there today and he's super kind! We would thank him for bringing us water and our food, and he would thank us right back for coming in. We were served watermelon juice that was on the house, and It's now one of my favorite drinks! It's all natural made in the store!! We tried Luigi's last week with two other couples and had a great experience. We all ordered different meals and all of us said the food was delicious. Disappointing experience for our family. We were looking forward to supporting this new Italian restaurant in our community but will not be visiting again. The place was almost empty at 8 pm on a Saturday which says a lot. Main courses are decent but not worth the $20+ price tag for the portions. The bread was underwhelming -- esp for what we thought would be a classy Italian restaurant and they charge an additional $2.50 if you ask for a refill after the 4-5 slices. The server raved about the Tiramisu being the best we would ever eat - and - it wasn't. I've seriously had better tiramisu from the to-go aisle at Whole Foods. Clearly they don't care for return customers, and I will certainly not be one. read more

I went to Luigis with a good friend and her son on Valentine's Day, it was all booked for the day of course! And I was told to come back another day. Then Nancy came and moved some strings to squeeze us in ! That was incredible amazing. She totally made my day. We had the calamari fretted for appetizer, it was absolutely delicious, the red sauce had a very unique, fresh and delicious taste. We each order our plates and as soon as they arrived we started tasting, and oh! Each of them full of fresh flavors, absolutely delicious. My favorite was the " orange Salmon" We had to wrapped up with deserts which the " tiramisu" was the "cherry on top" of the night. We all left the place thinking when to come back next. I also like to mention that the tables where decorated for Valentines and it just made it magical. The environment was extremely pleasant . Not to mention Nancy was our Server of the night and she is with no doubt a STAR of the place. I will sure remember how she went far and beyond expectations. She is definitely the best!! This restaurant is trying to be a high end Italian place, judging by the prices on the menu. The food we had was mediocre at best, especially for the prices they are charging. I had the Eggplant, and while it was ok, there was a piece of PLASTIC (like for a bag of something) in the food. When I took the bite that in it, I first thought it was an especially tough piece of onion. I informed the server, and got a non-committal "oh sorry. I will tell the kitchen". That's it, no concession or even a visit by the manager. We had desert, and these were nothing to write home about. None of the deserts could have been made in the restaurant. They all had a factory kitchen feel about them. I had a tiramisu, which was dry and generally unappealing. My wife had a crème brule that was rubbery and was not fresh at all. My daughter had the chocolate mousse, that was supposed to come with a chocolate sponge. It had none and the mousse seemed to be whipped cream that they may have added cocoa too... Overall, if you are trying to find a nice local Italian place, I would steer clear of Luigi's. Maybe it should have stayed an overpriced Mexican restaurant. read more

Very quiet setting. Staff extremely nice and attentive. Food was below expectations we tried the Colorado and pollo con chicken en mole. The mole was so thick and black it looked undesirable. The didn't have a Drink advertised and the drink I got instead was lacking in flavor. Prices are high for what we got. I don't think we will be back. Sorry. read more
