This is One of my favorite places to eat in eureka! The food is always good!! And you never have to wait!

This is a place that has gone down hill. No flavor in the salsa, meat, or anything. They used to be the best but something happened. They cater to DoorDash and their rude employees. When a door dasher threw food at our door, Luis's answer was "they're rude to us too sometimes ". Unfortunately, the circumstances,besides DoorDash, equals that the flavor has fallen flat and customer service is lacking. We are always rooting for local companies. We've ordered several times since 2019. Sadly, our family can no longer support this business. We've tried. They haven't. read more

Ordered vegetarian burrito to go. Vegetarian burrito was over $11 after tax. Wow. I was surprised by how expensive some of the menu items were. Anyway, the burrito wasn't wrapped in aluminum foil and it was really wet and sloppy. Had to eat with a fork. Very bland. Haven't tried other items yet, so I can only speak from this burrito experience. read more

The worst mexican food ever ! You dont put whole wet beans on a tostada, my tostada was super soggy I couldn't eat anything the Asada fries had this weird old grill taste, and the margaritas are $25 a picture and then they charge you three dollars for whatever flavor you want ridiculous. I have to say right away the tortillas are what makes this place authentic! They are homemade and delicious! I always order the 4 taco special with grilled steak. OH MY they are big and well worth the price! Their salsa is also fantastic. We are always greeted with a smile and told to sit wherever we like. The food comes out hot and quick which I appreciate. Their guacamole is my favorite out of anywhere I have eaten. Eureka has so many Mexican places, but this one is the most authentic yet! I haven't tried any of the drinks, but the food is on point!! The worst customer service, and food arrived cold and not as ordered. Manager who called herself "America" on 12/23/19 at 1pm hung up on me three times after saying she couldn't help. The food was ordered through Door Dash, and so if you order the wrong thing, just know the restaurant staff won't care, won't try to resolve anything and will hang up on you. Otherwise food tasted good, just too bad it was cold upon arrival. read more

Cashier/Waitress - America Order 5 June 13 Horrible service. Waitress (red lipstick) was more interested in chatting with her friend the entire time I was in the restaurant. I asked for a Pepsi and a water, only got Pepsi, asked for a plate to put Fajitas on - took 10 min to get one because she was chatting with friend sitting at counter, while I was eating she dropped off bill- never asking if I wanted dessert (which I did), never asked how everything was or if I needed anything else, after I finished eating I waited and waited and waited for her to come back (she's still talking to friend) so I could get a box...she never did. So, I was fed up with the lack of customer service and just left my money on table and remaining food I wanted to take with me. Hope you find a better waitress to serve your customers. Their tortillas have lard in them per the server, so the vegetarian burrito is a no-go. Should not be called vegetarian. Nixes a lot of options for vegans. I got corn tortilla tacos with tofu and a side of guacamole. Ok, but nothing special. The margaritas had yummy tamarind salt on the rim and good house tequila. read more

This is NOT authentic. In fact our snippy server called the Chile Relleno "American style ". It is now, the worst Chile relleno I have ever had (honor used to belong to Mi Casa in Orange County). It is literally an omelette with a canned chili inside. With a sprinkle of unmelted fake cheese on top. In a weird broth. I sent it back. Loved the "I only work here" snip from the waitress. I really love everything here. The chilequiles are fantastic! The enchiladas and rolled tacos are amazing as well.

Ordered off Doordash but this was not a Doordash issue. My order consisted of a chicken and mole combination plate and quesadilla. While the Mole was not bad, the chicken was the biggest disappointment. For a $17.50 dish, I definitely expected a good helping of chicken, and rice and beans for that matter, but upon opening the container I was greatly displeased to see two tiny pieces of chicken breast, almost bite sized pieces. Also a small amount of rice and beans that all together did not leave me very satisfied and that was after devouring my side salad which had strangely chopped tomato chunks in it. Worst of all, the tortillas, which seemed like an attempt at homemade tortillas, but not cooked all the way. I am Mexican, I know how tortillas are made and supposed to be cooked and these tortillas were basically garbage, I choked two out of three down because I was hungry. I'm giving two stars instead of one, only because the mole wasn't bad, or the quesadilla. read more

I come up north a lot since my friends grew up here and for business reasons. We have stopped here a lot in the past few years and have mostly enjoyed it. There were a few times where they were understaffed, and our food would take almost an hour to come out. Other times where they would mess up our orders, but aye we're all human here. The man who I suppose owns it and is working there is very entertaining and fun. It's at kinda a weird spot, you gotta go into upper side of town to find it but hey sometimes it's worth those chicken tacos. Me: "Weird cuz im looking right at it on your website menu" Luis's: (plays dumb/acts annoyed) "eh huh? special burrito? whaaat??? Me: "uh no. Do you not have a carne asada burrito right here on the specials menu served 7.98 until 3pm. is that not a thing?" Luis's: "No its not on there" Me: "oh well it says it is right here." *silence* then she just says "about 5 mins" and the call ends.LOL W..T..F.. (and wow 5 mins? faster than taco bell. thats sounds fresh right? pfftt) its funny because the ONE time before this i had came here 3 yrs ago my experience was terrible as well. Anyways... i got my food drove home and after the 1st bite my burrito was so dry that i literally had to add a little bit of water to the piping hot DRY mush inside. the "carne asada" tasted very old im guessing at least 4 days or more of in and out of the fridge, probably reheated a few times? as well as the rice. we are all aware of what fresh ingredients taste like and the carne asada was like little dry hard pebbles. and i asked for it to come with everything aka their combo burrito and i paid $12.00+ dollars for a TINY dollop of sour cream and quac and diced tomato pieces that i could literally count on two hands and a handful of lettuce thrown on top. nothing inside but hot dry meat and hot dry beans. i hate getting on here and doing this i do it rare but i hope they see this and something changes. paying way too much for such poor quality. i think it stays in business from the old folks home being so close. i live close and ive literally often seen old ppl in robes with a questionable non amount of clothing underneath walking in. old people like bland food. so i guess its good for them. just stop charging them so much. oh, and in addition the decor is like a hospital cafeteria. being in there is a bizarre empty bleak feeling of despair, im not just saying that.. all my friends agreed it looked empty and hollow like a hospital. zero feeling of festive warmth like most Mexican restaurants. i think there was one corporate branded Carona pinata? lol that they got from their beer distributors? lol cool fam. cool. read more

Always has quick service and the food is quality. I've gone on multiple occasions for take out and I've never had to wait longer than 10-15 minutes. Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. Would recommend! read more

Worst experience yet! My experiences have progressively getting worse over the last year. My orders are consistently incorrect. When calling to order out the young woman that works there is consistently irritable, rude and short on the phone. She is horribly rude and became quite angry with me for asking for the correct order. "Well that's not what i charged you for". I told her I was happy to pay the difference, she walked away as she mumbled "you don't have to be such a ....... About it!" The male wait staff was clearly intoxicated. We order out frequently and will sit and wait and have a margarita while we wait, we asked for chips and salsa with our margarita the last 3 times, she completely ignored us and the third time one of the male staff brought them two us after she'd been ignoring us for 20 min. We've been eating there for YEARS! Over a decade, closer to two decades. We have continued to because it had been so good in the past but we won't be back. She clearly needs a new job, perhaps not one in customer service. read more

Mexico food being one of my favorites, I have always been happy with food we have ordered there. Dining in before Covid was always a relaxing atmosphere with great customer service. Ordering is easy, curbside pick up, prices and great food continue to bring us back. If you haven't eaten there, do so, we all need to support businesses like these. I got tacos to go and it had a Little Rock in it that broke my tooth. I called them and they said there was nothing they could do and they refused to give me there owners managers or supervisors number or speak to them. Told me that I couldn't have a refund when I didn't even ask for a refund. My tool broke all the way to the nerve and is now gonna need major work and hurts really bad. They should pay for my tooth to get fixed since they caused it. This just happened. I'm super sad and mad. There not gonna hear the end of this. read more

The food is great and authentic but the service is even better. After having only been there a few times they remembered my beverage and preferences. I eat there often and it is consistently good and quite affordable. Even when it is busy the service is fantastic and prompt. I lived across the street from another decent Mexican style restaurant and made the trip across town to Luis's every time I wanted Mexican food instead of walking across the street. read more

My favorite dish is Chile Verde, which is how I judge all Mexican food restaurants. Luis' s failed this and terribly so. The salsa came out red and watery. I thought they got it wrong, so i wanted to tell the waiter. He didn't come by, I had to go up and wait for him to help others. I was told that was green salsa, even though it was apparent it wasn't. He then later brought out their red salsa to compare, but I didn't see much of a difference. Either way it was not good and I threw it away once I got home. Tortillas were homemade, but the edges were hard. I can't understand why this place gets good reviews, to me it was awful. read more

I love this place to go sit down and have dinner but they are seriously slacking on their doordash orders!!! I ordered today and I had asked for red sauce on my burrito and a side of limes and I didn't get that and also the burrito was literally cold like idk if they just barely warmed it up in the microwave but my food this time was disgusting! My partner and I LOVE Luis's Mexican Restaurant! We normally get our food "to go" but occasionally dine in too. I have never gotten anything from them that wasn't fantastic. First time since new ownership and it's only gotten better. Good service. The interior design has improved to a causal and comfortable feel with wooden chairs and tables. Before it was old off pink booths that made you want to throw up. With new bar seating and better menu design I have to say the food has also improved. The super wet burrito was amazing. I honestly only have one complaint. I want a bigger fork to put more food in my mouth!! I think a shovel would be best at this point. read more
