There is a small parking lot in the back of the building with access to the restaurant through a door and stairs vice front access. Quickly seated by friendly staff. Comfortable dining area and was seated at table next to fire place which was nice on a cold night. There is bar seating available as well. Gyoza was a bit greasy vice steamed and lackluster in taste . Pad thai with chicken was good, but was a little low on the flavor and punch scale for me. Just riding down the street and saw this restaurant and my family went in to check it out. The inside was super cozy, they had the fireplace going and had a nice home feel to the place. The service was OK. The lady forgot my child's ice cream. We just didn't make a big deal about it. I ordered the curry with potatoes. It was very good. The spice level was just right. Look forward to going back and trying a higher spice level next time the flavored water was a nice touch and they have a nice well stock bar with a lot of different options. We were visiting Newport and had dinner at NaPha Thai, which was very close to our AirBNB. We started with lychee martinis - they were fine, not very strong though. We then split the Tom Yum chicken soup, stir fry chicken with cashew nuts, and pad see ew noodles. All was good, but I would say priced a bit higher than I would expect for the location and ambiance. Service was spotty - we were not checked on often. However, I appreciate this small restaurant being available and providing a decent dinner. read more

We were staying in Newport on Christmas evening and looked for a place to have a light dinner that was close to our hotel. NaPha Thai Kitchen came up on Yelp and they were open that night. It's a delightful colorful spot that was beautifully decorated inside for the holidays. We ordered a bowl of delicious Miso Soup that we shared. We also had Lo Mein noodles with veggies and tofu that was cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. Our waitress was delightful and even brought a lit candle for atmosphere. I would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant which is some of the best Thai food we have ever had. We thanked the owner who was very friendly and hope to come back soon! read more

We arrived when there were zero people at the restaurant at 2 pm and the gentleman asked just two and I said yes, do you want to do takeout and he said no okay. They only have one fryer so we could not order spring rolls as we are vegetarian. We ordered red curry and green curry and medium spicy but he made it extra spicy. He was not interested in serving us but I did see there was a DoorDash order they prepared. The portions are very small and when I inquired if they had lunch specials he said no it is all same price which is fine! This is my second time at this establishment, the first time being when they first opened which was about 2 years ago. Service has improved since then. Waitstaff is more attentive. The food is okay. Started off with the gyoza , vegetable dumplings. I asked for them steamed instead of pan fried which they were able to do. The dumplings skin was not the typical flour wonton but instead it was either a spinach flavor as it was dark green & tasted like it had a hint of seaweed flavor as well. It was okay as the veggies inside tasted like onions. For my main meal had the pad Thai with tofu. It was good, I have had better, but I did like the tofu. My great niece had the beef teriyaki as this was the first time trying Thai food. I ordered Pad Thai and Crab Rangoons on a Sunday afternoon, to go. I placed an order via the website. It was ready on time and everything was given to me correctly. The pad Thai was delicious. I ordered no spice and would probably get mild next time. It had a lot of bean sprouts on top, not a personal favorite of time but totally normal for the dish. I'd ordered it again and ask for less bean sprouts next time. There was plenty of tofu included, which was my protein of choice. They also offered chicken, beef, etc. The crab Rangoon was phenomenal. The wontons were crispy and hot. The filling was creamy, with a good wonton to filling ratio (sometimes the filling can be skimpy elsewhere! I didn't find that here). The dipping sauce was light and complimented the dish well. The inside of the restaurant was spacious and had lots of plants. I would go back to dine in and I will definitely be back to get take out. Total price was around $35 for both dishes. I'd be very interested in trying the $12.95 lunch special (see menu in photo). read more

Excellent Thai food! Located inside Rheas Inn with its own entrance. I had the Panang curry with Pork and fried rice. Most rice dishes provide choice of white or fried rice at same price. The fried rice had scrambled egg pieces and a few rice pieces were crispy. Definitely worth getting. Their spice level on the menu is from 1 to 5 's. I asked for hot (3 's). The entree and rice came super hot temperature -wise like it left the skillet 10 seconds ago. I had to wait a few minutes to cool down, but it was well worth it. The ambiance was quiet and very nice. I sat facing the window admiring the old houses across the street and sunshine so I did not pay too much attention. One note: iced tea does not have free refills. I understand Thai iced tea is no refills but $3.95 per regular tea was a bit much. No big deal I will just get water next time to go with the great food. We got takeout here after my husband recommended the place- and it was delicious!! I got the pad thai, which was really flavorful. What struck me most was that the chicken was actually tender and moist, you could tell that they took care with the dish. So many Thai places just throw in overcooked chicken, but not here, it was actually really good. My son loved his crispy rolls (like spring rolls) as well, they were great. My wife and I went here for the first time. We used to go to Rhea's when it was located here. It looks similar inside. It is a casual atmosphere and makes you feel at home. The server came over and took our drink order. The cocktails were really well made and reasonably priced. We started with the edamame and it was excellent. It had just the right amount of salt. We followed with some soup. Mine had lots of mushrooms and a most delicious broth. We had a chili roast duck that was incredible. The chili sauce had the right amount of heat and the veggies were perfectly prepared and had the right amount of crunch. That Wonton Soup tho! NaPha is a sweet hidden gem nestled inside of what appears to be a bed and breakfast (?) in Middletown, Rhode Island. There's a few parking spaces in the front and many more in the back, but from the street, the white building doesn't look like much. That being said, once you go inside, you are greeted by a cozy and warm wood paneled restaurant with a new-looking bar, clean tables, and a real crackling fireplace. It's perfect as we head into the winter months, and we were lucky enough to snag the table right by the roaring fire. The menu consists of the usual suspects of many Thai restaurants. We enjoyed our stirfried entrees, but the real star of the show as the aforementioned Wonton Soup. It's a giant bowl for $8, brimming with dumplings, flavorful broth, and lots of coriander. I think about it all the time, and would totally order a Doordash bowl if it wasn't Thanksgiving. Maybe tomorrow... The other entrees were yummy, but a little bit pricier than I would have expected. It was our first visit, though, so we wanted to order a bit more than we would have normally. I did appreciate the complimentary Chili Oil Edamame, which were delicious. How do I leave a six star review? Cause that's what this place deserves. The customer service was so astounding that everywhere I've ever been before this should be ashamed. And it was done with a single server on the floor (though it was a slow Sunday on my visit). The food was really good. My first time trying Thai food and I'm in love. The spice level of my dish was perfect at a 3 (slightly runny nose as I finished eating), but my buddy who's a dare devil said the 5 wasn't spicy enough for him (he was red faced and sweating around bite 5 or 6). New Thai spot in Middletown/Newport area. Got takeout for lunch. Wanted to try the pad kee mow but the menu said it's only with ground chicken, so decided to try the pad see ew instead. The lunch special comes with spring rolls and soup (there are other options as well). Flavor profile is similar to pad Thai. I've never had it before, but it tasted good, more on the authentic side with just the Chinese broccoli, though I probably wouldn't try it again. Didn't get the soup or any utensils with my order. Ladies day out with a group of ten, NaPha Thai did an amazing job accommodating such a large party. Our waitress was very sweet and welcoming. They have a soup and salad station for the lunch special and food comes out fast. Dining at NaPha Thai you feel like you are in someone's colonial dining room. Warm fire places and colonial decor really gave that New England vibe. The food was delicious, portion size was okay. The lack of Thai spice was disappointing. In a dish labeled to contain lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves neither was present. But there was a handful of Italian parsley that detracted from the dish.
