    Malay Noodle Soup, Vermicelli Trio
    Lily K.

My bf and I have gone to Thai Cuisine many times now and we absolutely love this place. They have a variety of soups, noodles, meat and vegetable based dishes so we are always trying something new here! The staff are kind and food comes out in a timely manner. The restaurant has a very calming atmosphere inside and while small, even has outdoor seating. Drinks/apps: we always start off with Thai iced teas, these are a must. They are sweet but not overly so, and go very well with any dish you order. We also love the spring rolls, mango fresh rolls, and our favorite, the curry puffs. They are flakey and filled with sweet/savory vegetable flavors. Of course we also get the edamame because it's a nice little snack. Entrees: my current favorite is the malay noodle soup, it comes out steaming hot and is so creamy and filling. There is plenty of beef and wonderful steamed broccoli that soaks up the flavor of the soup. I also love the Rad Na, which is an assortment of steamed vegetables in a gravy-like curry. This one is perfect for colder months, since it really warms you up. My bf has gotten various curries and the vermicelli trio which he has enjoyed very much as well. Dessert: we haven't tried any dessert here because we end up getting so full from the other dishes! Each time we go I anticipate that I will need to be carried out, because I will probably go into a food coma. TL;DR: For those visiting Newport, do not pass up trying this place if you're not in the mood for the overwhelming amount of seafood restaurants located here. You can't really go wrong with any dish, make sure to get Thai iced teas and you will leave really full and happy :)

Beef drunken noodles with "extra noodles"

Third visit to Thai Cuisine and it just gets better and better! Dined in the outside courtyard, which is super cute. Crispy spring rolls A+, Asian chicken wings A+, Beef and chicken drunken noodles A+. My advice: 1. ask for extra sauce for the chicken wings. Note that they are really big wings...this is a shareable appetizer. 2. The crispy spring rolls are incredible. A single order is four small rolls. 3. Their drunken noodles are packed with meat and vegetables. We ask for extra noodles to balance it out. We highly recommend this place. We travel on our boat full time, so once we find our favorite spots, we crave them. Thai cuisine is a place we love!

The food and service at Thai Cuisine in Newport is a 5-Star Excellent for sure!! We stopped by because we were craving pad thai and didn't know about this restaurant. What a delicious find this was!! The two people working Friday night were friendly and welcoming. The food was served within 10 minutes, which was wonderful because we were starving after walking 6 miles around the beautiful city of Newport. We will be back for another delicious dinner!! Delicious and tasty pad Thai, rice dishes and salads with excellent service. On Thames street and a cozy place to enjoy your meal, people watching and relaxing. Enjoy! Woody and Bella

We really liked dinner here at Thai Cuisine. It was nearly empty on a gorgeous Saturday night which we were surprised at. There wasn't accessible parking but no surprise given it's on Newport's main strip. Indoor and outdoor patio seating a bit removed from most of the hustle and bustle but still central if you want to explore. As always I loved my go to order of drunken noodles with tofu! Fresh, flavorful and plenty of veggies. Plus points for the lovely garnish. The Thai iced tea was especially fresh tasting and garnished with a mint leaf. Service was prompt and friendly. We left full and happy and would recommend to anyone wanting to

We've been going here for many years. We were shocked to see the lack of product in our favorite dish. For the price charged, we will not be back again.

We stopped in randomly because they were the only place open during our evening walk in Newport. It was fantastic! The seaweed salad was fresh and I highly recommend their brown sauce noodles. The veggies were cooked perfectly, not soggy. Absolutely delicious. The place is decorated tastefully and was clean. We will return.

My husband and i were in need of asian food so we came to Thai Cuisine at Thames street for dinner. Super busy on Memorial day wknd but we got a table soon. Super busy but service was impeccable. Our server helped us with our order and super courteous. We ordered shrimp pad thai, squid pad thai, tom yum koong, chicken drunken noodle. Tom yum goong: 4/5 Flavor was on point but wish it was hotter (temp wise) Shrimp and squid pad thai: 2.5/5 Lacked tamarind flavor and the noodle was too soggy. Squid had no flavor and too rubbery. Chicken drunken noodle: 3/5 There was absolutely not enough noodle in here and not much flavor with chicken either it was the best one we ordered today. Overall: food was not so good but service was really good. Not sure if i will come back but i dont think there are a lot of asian food option.

    Chicken satay

Best Thai food I've had in a long time! Had the chicken satay for an appetizer & the rainbow sweet & sour with duck for a main. Amazing, definitely a must visit!

Friends had it and said it was delicious

Managed to fall in here when TSK was closed next door and decided to try it out. Overall a sold 3.25-3.8 kind of place. Better than your average Thai spot. A group of us went out and all four of us left happy with our meals. Two of them got the cashew chicken that came in half a pineapple. Looked very good and they said it was delicious. I had the curry puffs for appetizer which I enjoyed for their soft flaky crust and fresh and flavorful ingredients. Would order again. I also had the Drunken Noodles which were above average and not too sticky but I expected more noodles. Would order again (in fact about to order now). Wrapped my meal up with mango and sticky rice which topped me off. Not the best I've had but it was still delicious. Would order it again when mangos are more in season. Overall, will be our staple Thai place while here.

Who says you can't enjoy delicious Thai cuisine in your car during all of the craziness going on with this virus... We found a nice, quiet, scenic spot (Fort Adams) brought our own dishes, chopsticks and voila!!! Magic! We started with an order of Fresh Spring Rolls with Shrimp, Mint Leaf, Avocado, Carrots and Vermicelli wrapped tightly in a rice wrapper, served with a sweet and sour sauce that had quite a KICK! The rolls were totally unique compared to the many others I have tried in the past. Very good, and fresh! We also had to try out their Crab Rangoons and they too were very yummy! I went with Shrimp Festive Noodles for my dinner. It was prepared with Shrimp, Stir-Fried Egg Noodles, Onions, Bean Sprouts, Red, Orange & Green Bell Peppers and Scallions!! It was very delicious, fresh and full of flavor! Will definitely be back!!!!

For drinks I got a refresher ~ refresher wasn't too outstanding but it helped with my spicy ramen~ my ramen so was savory and flavorful~ tasty, wasn't fatty or too oily. It had just good flavors that weren't too heavy but definitely filling and satisfying. My partners ramen was also very flavorful and tasty without the typical fatty, oily, tastes I usually get. We asked the server for the check since we need to leave soon after to make it on time for an event, and she gave us the check, and some to-go containers in case we needed it, which was very considerate! The appetizer were solid, good, but you MUST try the ramen. Spicy ramen was worth it if you need a good hangover soup or super chilly, or just want to sweat~ the egg and corn pieces were such soothing ingredients ~ Will be back for sure, even if the drive and parking is a hassle. Yet, maybe because of a total lack of internet presence, I never visited this spot. But, let me tell you... Bangkok City is now being added to my favorite local haunts! Don't expect much as far as atmosphere here - while it is neat & clean, I don't think anything has ever been updated. Very dated, 80's fern bar style hanging lights set the tone while (thankfully!) the horrid florescent tube lighting covering the ceiling remained dark. A few pieces of Thai decor & some travel posters reflected the cuisine. A TV in the corner silently showed a tennis match. Some quiet music would have been nice - it was far too quiet. But, don't let the lack of ambiance discourage you - it all gets better from there! The gentleman who greeted & served us, in fact, the only staff member we saw during our Saturday evening visit, was friendly & helpful. And the food was fabulous! We started with B-K-C Summer Rolls and Tom Kha Kai Soup. The rolls we crisp, fresh & tasty. The soup looked quite basic - just the coconut broth and lots of chicken and tiny treats of diced galagal. This soup often includes mushrooms & I've also seen tomatoes, onions, or sweet pepper slivers too. But, none of those extras were needed as the flavor was just perfection - so delicious! The large size was more than enough for two, definitely good for three or maybe four. We happily slurped it all up anyway. For entrees, Kang Keow Warn ( green curry) & Duck Curry were fantastic! With just the right amount of spice as we had requested & a touch of sweetness typical of central Thailand, they were served with rice & filled with perfectly fresh, crisp vegetables and meat. We were too full for dessert, but there were many interesting choices & I can't wait to return for mango & sticky rice. Prices here are surprisingly reasonable - literally half of what most local Thai spots charge. The short beverage list featured wine at $5 a glass and several beers choices at just $4 & $5 a bottle. Dinner for two with leftovers came to under under $50! They don't have takeout menus or a website, so we took photos of the menu for ordering take out, something I'm sure we will be doing very regularly for now on!
