This may be my new favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood (sorry, Hooked on Colfax). They do a great job of selecting more obscure beans to make really good coffee. So far I've noticed beans from Middle State (a tiny roaster in Denver that only serves a few shops so far, but deserves to serve more) and Onyx (a roaster from Arkansas which was excellent). As a bonus, it only took a couple visits for them to start recognizing me and my preferred drink. I wouldn't come here to study or linger since it's so small (only a couple tables and a window counter), but for to go coffee or meeting a friend, it's a perfect spot. read more

It doesn't get much cuter than this shop off Colfax! Fresh flowers and coffee, what's not to love? This place has limited seating and doesn't have Wi-Fi, so if you're looking for a place to get work done or bring a group, this isn't the place. If you're looking for a quaint place to read a book and watch a storm roll through (like me) or a place to meet a friend for a quick cup of coffee, this is your place! I absolutely enjoyed my time there. The service was friendly and fast. My latte was up to par. The place is decorated with jars of fresh flowers. It's a dream. We were staying nearby this coffee shop for a couple of days while in Denver and loved it! Not many "general store" items are sold here other than some fresh and dried flowers, but they can call it whatever they like. This place is charming and quaint, but SMALL. Not a place to do work or hang for more than 15 minutes to finish your coffee and food. We tried their brewed coffee, cortado, chai, and latte. All were great! They make their own non-dairy milk too, cashew almond milk, but its their only ND alternative. They also have a variety of pastries and toasts, we tried the grilled cheese with a soft egg, was really good! read more

The coffee is very good. Not bitter at all, but served too hot. We had the Dio Mio and the Biscuit Sandwich. The Dio Mio was delicious. The biscuit sandwich was good but very difficult to eat, and the biscuit was a little dry. The space is very welcoming and bright with many windows. LOVE THIS PLACE. Sometimes the prospect of a Lula Rose breakfast sandwich with whole grain mustard and fresh jam is the only thing carrying me through a long overnight shift. The delicious, thick-cut crusty bread, over easy egg and unique combo of strong mustard and jam on the side are drool-worthy. Lattes are of equally impressive quality. As for decor - this place couldn't get any more charmingly hipster if it tried. It's got an instagram-worthy vintage-looking exterior, pink espresso machine, plants everywhere (as they are affiliated with the plant store a few blocks down Colfax); there is no Wi-FI (and I think there's a sign that asks you to talk to humans as an alternative) and it took me almost a year to figure out this place had a name since it's no where to be found on the outside of the shop. Oliver is incredibly talented as a barista. My husband and I frequent this place on weekends and he is always prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. My friend and I were making a quick stop for breakfast before heading out to hike, and the giant "coffee" sign + the adorable retro look made us pop in for a drink on our way out of town. So I wanna give this place 4 stars because it's honestly not a general store...it's a small coffee shop with a small menu and minimal food items and a few bottles of topo chico in the fridge and siracha on the shelves...that being said, they make the BEST iced oat milk latte in town. The crushed ice is so refreshing and I don't know what kind of voodoo magic they do to that oat milk but it's, um, very very good. I don't usually like oat milk and that latte is seriously bomb. One of my favorite neighborhood spots! Strong coffee, delicious food, friendly staff, cool decor. Their green burrito is amazing, but the last time I got it there was hardly any of the salsa or kewpie mayo I've come to love. It's so fresh and so clean in here that you walk out smelling better than you walked in. The coffee is top notch and made with care but not with some Portlandia ridiculous attitude. Fred Nietzsche works in here but he doesn't act like a big deal meme writer--just a regular guy. The coffee is so good. It feels like another country like Spain or Vancouver. They don't ask you to contribute a lot and you can just come in at 2:15, drink your coffee in silence and leave like the undiscovered genius that you are. My lady and I ordered a Chai Tea and a Mocha respectively. They were both delicious. I being cursed with clumsiness from a very young age managed to knock over our Chai Tea. I began cleaning the mess but the gentleman ran over and said not to worry about, he even replaced the Chai tea for free despite offering to buy a new one. Exceptional customer service. I don't usually write reviews but after the service I received yesterday, I still feel compelled to share how terrible my experience was. I absolutely do not recommend this place. There are so many cute, less pretentious, and less expensive LOCAL coffee shops all around Denver, including within walking distance of this snotty shop. No need to waste your money here. I live in the neighborhood and visited the coffee shop on more than one occasion. Their coffee is delicious, although more expensive than similar shops around town. I didn't mind the extra spending for a fun, cute, and local shop. After yesterday, I will support other local businesses and will not return. I spoke to the barista about their lack of wifi when I first visited the coffee shop over a year ago. He let me know that the coffee shop wanted to promote a classic coffee shop feel and not encourage people to just sit on their computers for hours at a time. I thought it was a neat idea and appreciated the conversation. Thereafter, I went to the shop when meeting colleagues and friends. It is a nice, quiet place to chat. Yesterday, ALL THREE baristas were pretentious AF and COMPLETELY ignored me aside from taking my order and $13 dollars FOR TWO DRINKS (tip included). Oh and what made it even better ...while giving me my order, the barista was checking his social media ON HIS PHONE... There were only three other customers, and two were engaged in a conversation with either other. It was clear none of the baristas cared about their customer service or lack thereof. I am not one to chat up the service workers because I do not feel the need to talk to every person I come across. But my experience left me feeling incredibly awkward and like I was an inconvenience to buy coffee from a coffee shop. If I wanted to have such a pretentious, aloof experience I would have gone to Aviano - at least their coffee is better. read more

There is a lot to love here, and it starts with the coffee. I'm a straight "bean-water" drinker who needs no frills in my black coffee, and I have always loved my choices here: iced coffee, espresso, drip, cortados...it's all gravy, baby! Delicious pastries, homemade nut milk, and coffee for all palates served by neighborly baristas who really take pride in what they do. Great to see this place picking up steam with locals. Terrific uncluttered space with superior quality and real non-chain personal service. My new go to for an amazing "locally sourced" perfectly poured coffee or tea without the hipster snobbery. In house flavors, local roasts and crafted teas in a clean cool modern laid back euro feeling place without fliers, tent cards and the typical crap littering most S-bucks and other beige bland P-bread wannabes. This is by far my favorite coffee shop in Denver. I usually get the drip coffee because it is well made and flavorful just by itself. I love that it is locally owned and operated and I cannot say enough about the guys that run this shop. Each one of them is smart, fun and a good conversationalist. Lula Rose is the cutest new coffee shop to hit Congress Park! I think it just opened in the last week or so and I'm so glad it did! I drove past it the other day after getting groceries at Sprouts and had to go in. The vibe is awesome with awesome aesthetics... white subway tiles, funky cement floors, quaint wooden tables, and completely windowed walls. Super light, bright, clean, and charming. The coffee was absolutely delicious and the owner super helpful and nice.
