Apologies this photo is from the next day! notice the avocado is still fresh, the mango delicious , the edamame beans bright .

The poke bowls were out of this world. It's a bit pricey but one bowl can easily feed two people( or more). The food was so fresh that it was crisp and delicious the next day. We found this place by chance we were in Glen Cove and now need to find a reason to go back. The tea was very sweet. Again we diluted with water and it was twice the drink. Find a reason to drive to Glen Cove and get food from here.

Hawaiian Kitchen, based in Bethpage, absolutely knocked it out of the park! From the start, they were incredibly easy to work with and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I had originally requested 2-liter bottles of soda, but since they didn't have them in stock, they proactively delivered individual cans instead to ensure our team had plenty of drinks. Now, for the food--it was phenomenal. Our office hasn't stopped raving about it! The Coconut Shrimp and Grilled Shrimp were huge hits, and the Angus Steak was incredibly tender. Even the Chicken Fried Rice was a standout, and all of their signature sauces were delicious. They also did a large house salad for us with the most incredible Ginger dressing. I had numerous people ask me where I found them, and I couldn't wait to order for their next small house parties or to pick up dinner on the way home. It was all so fresh and not greasy. We also ordered spring rolls that were so light and crispy, pineapple fried rice that was really delicious, and marinated chicken and steamed broccoli. If you're looking for reliable catering that people will actually get excited about, I can't recommend Hawaiian Kitchen enough. THANK YOU for making me look like a superstar! We will definitely be ordering again! PS - they are a small, family-owned business, and I love supporting businesses like that that really care. Give them a try!

The menu had mostly Hawaiian options to choose from. The pricing was very reasonable as well. I had the customizable poke bowl ($15.95). There was a number of different options to choose from with different proteins, toppings, sauces, etc. I had a base of brown rice with avocado, cucumber, sweet corn, edamame, mango, ahi tuna, spicy mayo, ginger, wasabi, jalapeno, green onion, and cilantro. This was nicely done. Everything appeared fresh and it was a good size portion. I would have just liked to seen a little more ahi tuna present, but besides that, very pleasant and filling. I also had the spam musubi ($2.95) and a side of macaroni salad ($3.95). The musubi was okay. It was a little dry. There needed to be more sauce present. The macaroni salad was a heaping portion, and it was tasty. There looked like a lot of mayonnaise present, but it was not too overpowerful as some type of sugar seemed to be incorporated to balance it out. Regardless of what it was, the salad was flavorful. Will I go back? I would.

They have many menu options ranging from preset poke bowls, to make your own, combo meals, and mini meals. Drinks are about $2.50 a piece, and a wide variety of Hawaiian Sun, casual soda. I was tempted to get the mini meal since I don't eat a lot, but I ultimately caved and decided to get the combo meal since I wanted to try the Kailua pork too. The verdict? The Kailua pork was a little too salty for me, it comes mixed with like cabbage or lettuce, and overall very mushy which I didn't mind. However the Chicken Katsu came with a bbq type sauce and everyone thought the sauce was delicious. My fiance ordered the bbq mix which included the bbq chicken, beef, and short ribs and I thought the beef was so yummy. The portion size was big. All the combos come with either 1-2 scoops of rice and macaroni salad. My meal was pretty perfect for 2 whole meals for me. I ate the katsu with my leftover rice for breakfast the next morning! The food comes in takeout containers which makes it very easy for you to take to go if you don't finish. I might have to come back and try the poke next time...

I went there for dinner on a weekday at around 6:30 and by 8pm it was starting to get busy. The food quantity is huge - I had enough to take home and have for two more meals. There are only a few seats lined up against the wall (bar style) and one table of 4. There is a piano too, and they have a sign saying they teach piano. As small as it is the menu is even smaller with maybe 10 food items. But they sell authentic Hawaiian coffees and special grains of Asian rice. Many choices of smoothies & juices as well. Them mango smoothie was a nice size and delicious! I ordered my food to go and had a very short ride so the good was still hot. We tried the Hawaiian Garlic shrimp. Small size was plenty as it had 7 shrimp over sticky rice with some mixed vegetables in a cheesy buttery sauce. It had nice flavor. Also tried was the Hawaiian Ahi Bowl ( poke) which had plenty of fresh tuna with same veggies. Again a small size was plenty. Lastly I tried the Musubi which is a slice of Spam on top of a bar of cooked sticky rice with seaweed paper around it to get it together. Hawaii has been the # consumer of Spam for many years so I had to give it a try. The salty, smokey flavor of the "meat" along with he sticky rice was a good combo, but the seaweed wrap just gave it a slight fishy taste I could do without. I would say to try U'I for a change up for when you are in the mood for Asian food.

Not only is the food awesome - I ordered a ramen, plain hot dog, and halo-halo shaved ice (addictively good) - but bonus stars to the staff who were sooo sweet! The Hawaiian style shaved ice and home-made ice cream are top notch. The ice cream is rich and delicious, with some unique flavors, and the shaved ice is very fine - fluffy and evenly slushy in texture and sweetness, unlike the inferior versions where you run into bland chips of ice. The toppings are yum too. The ramen noodles are springy, settled in a savory light broth. For a non-prestige grade ramen, I have no complaints. I also want to acknowledge the lovely hospitality. My child was in a tantrum-y mood and went to sulk by himself in a corner. Seeing the pouty little grump in a small fit, the girls at the counter coaxed him over with ice cream and stickers, which he of course eagerly accepted, pleased by the attention and confection, and was soon back to his endearing self. So I really appreciated their extra kindness! This is a fab joint for a quick-casual or just a perfect sweet treat!

The gentleman who helped us said they will be open for dine-in next week. From what was there, the inside has a clean design. The tables and chairs were not set quite yet, but we look forward to coming back and seeing how it all comes together. We ordered a few items - rice bowl, ramen, scallion pancake, cha siu bao. I'm not entirely sure what took them so long to prepare our food, but it took an exorbitant amount of time to get the food. While we were there, another customer came and went with his order. I'm not sure if the customer ordered ahead, or if what we ordered took a longer time to prepare. I have a feeling that they're usually faster. The guy who helped us was super nice and apologetic. He gave us water, checked in with us frequently, and made it right for us. Many places around here could care less about making the customer wait, but I could tell from the whole interaction from start to finish that he cared about providing good service. I'm not a huge fan of ramen...but I felt obligated to order some because a lot of the menu was ramen. I loved the texture and consistency of the noodle. Sometimes I feel like broth is too salty and bland, but the flavor of these broths were subtle but present. The scallion pancake was perfectly crispy and greasy. There's just something about the greasiness of a scallion pancake that I enjoy. Once they fully open, we will be back to try the hot pot!

So I thought the food would be We ordered: Iberian lamb chop, (spice rub, watercress, toasted mung bean, nuoc cham dressing) - Ngl, it was ...meh. and I usually love lamb..but to give credit where it is worth, the portion was like an entree so that was nice. Grilled spanish octopus (gochujang glaze, acorn jelly, sesame, crispy garlic, kimchi-pork sauce) - the portion was really small, 2 bites and it's basically gone. Unfortunately, not enough to make an impression on the taste. Peekytoe crab fried rice (smoked salmon, mentaiko, salmon roe) - it was loaded with the ingredients. But also meh. Mochiko chicken loco moco (fried dark meat chicken, rice, fried jidori egg, mac salad, gravy) Best dish of the night. The chicken was fried perfectly, the meat was juicy and the egg was runny. Bruléed hawaiian pineapple (lime zest, 'alaea salt) Not sure what I was expecting.. but it's basically a slightly caramelized pineapple. I love pineapples so I was fine with it. Pineapple upside down cake (cherry sauce, coconut ice cream) Never had an upside down cake before so I was excited to try it.. unfortunately, my impression was it tasted like a biscuit. The coconut ice cream was yummy tho. Even though the food was meh, the staff were really friendly and accommodating. We weren't able to RSVP beforehand because they were fully booked.(It's a small spot) So they sat us at the bar, which made it easier to chat with the staff. And it's cute that the place was filled with Polaroids ( on the ceiling, walls)
