Fabulous experience using this company. Scheduling through email was easy breezy. Dwight called me the night before to confirm/answer any questions which was much appreciated. Arrived promptly and worked HARD! I was so impressed both with the hustle and clear diligence in ensuring everything was well cared for. I had several flights of stairs for them to deal with and it was no issue. The whole time Dwight and Leo were absolutely doing an A+ job; it was incredible. During move in, Dwight noticed a scuff on the ceiling he thought he caused by grazing it with a hockey stick. Coincidentally I knew the scuff was already there before they arrived, but Dwight immediately tried to remedy it anyway. I absolutely did not expect that (that's the kind of thing that happens when you move, ya know?) and was so impressed. Truly honest and careful movers. Pricing was fair if not very good. I would recommend to everyone reading this, that they avoid Lulu's Hauling Inc. During a two part move in 2019 where we moved from a house to and office and an apartment using them for both jobs a ~week apart, over $10k of items were stolen from our house with surgical precision... that Lulu's Hauling staff were the only individuals with knowledge of their location and the timing of our move. The same items that were stolen were electronics and high end music gear we overheard Lulu's Hauling employees admiringly commenting about during the first part of our move. When we confronted Lulu's Hauling with our concerns and allegations their staff might be responsible for the theft, the manager got angry, defensive, and berated me. We filed a police report but none of the items were ever recovered. I had been a repeat customer of Lulu's, and thought they were expensive but worth it. Never again. I do not trust these people and will absolutely never use Lulu's Hauling again in the future. Edit: This morning I received a Yelp complaint about this review. I assume Lulu's is trying to silence or alter my ability to speak out about their malfeasance. I absolutely should have filed a chargeback for the full value of my move. If they treat you poorly or you get mysteriously robbed, I'd recommend charging back their entire move fee in addition to filing a police report and pursuing charges. read more

Just finished my fourth move with Lulu's and, though all the experiences have been positive, I feel confident in saying at this point that whether your move is "okay" or "fantastic" has to do with which crew you get. Carlos and Jose are fantastic. They moved a houseful of very heavy furniture up several narrow flights of stairs without leaving a single scuff or dent on any of the freshly painted walls or re-surfaced floors. They were also incredibly careful with wrapping and protecting everything before loading it up. Not one tiny nick on any piece of furniture. Lulu's was recommended both by our realtor and an acquaintance who had used them---so we were very confident about trusting them with a local move. They were moving us out of our 4 bedroom home we'd been in for 35 years! The crew couldn't have been more competent and careful, and as an added bonus they were all great guys who made us feel so comfortable that everything was in good hands. I was excited to call LuLu's after reading the glowing reviews here. My landlady is selling, so I'm having to move after 15 years in a place I adore. This is an emotional move. I liked the idea of employing a local team. But I don't think LuLu's was thrilled about dealing with me, for whatever reason. I'm moving from 300 square feet to 400. Cottage to condo. It *does* involve dealing with a condo elevator (two floors). I was bit stunned to be told it had to be 3 men, and 5 to 8 hours would be required, essentially $1,000 to $1,200. I'd much rather he'd said he couldn't do it or didn't want to, rather than give me an estimate I'd surely reject. I immediately called A2B Movers in SF and was told 2 movers in 3 hours for $500 and dealt with a truly lovely guy. And that price includes carpet protection. Scratching my head here. read more

Moved from Oakland to Walnut Creek last month (I only realized today that I'd started, but not finished this review.) I couldn't be happier with the service. The rate was very reasonable compared to other movers, they arrived right at the scheduled time, and the movers were all friendly and professional. And, even though it turns out we had a three bedroom house's worth of stuff in a two bedroom apartment, they got it all moved within their quoted time frame. And, even though my move required some extra work and equipment on their part, they still only charged me my original quoted price. We'll definitely use them for our next move! I used Lulu's Hauling back in September. I had called several moving companies and none would consider my 125 mile destination. Which was 25 miles beyond normal request. And most movers up the price significantly past the 100 mile radius. Lulu's not only did not add an additional cost, they simply said it was within their range and I would pay for the time (round trip) and an additional gas charge for that distance. That seemed fair. I was so pleased with how fast, organized, clear headed they were (2 movers). But additionally what impressed me was that the two workers clearly had a long relationship together, and this history meant smooth communication and effectiveness. Loved these guys! I've worked with Lulu's 5 times and I've been very happy with their work. My last move was out of state and they were the only people to give me an easy to work with quote - by weight - without the hassle of having to meet and quote. It worked smoothly and for the job, which wasn't easy, (two trucks and a 4 bed home, interstate, to another 4 bedroom home), they were still happy and good with everything. The true testament though, is that they've moved a 400 lb marble table successfully every move, and for every move, that two moves of this specific table - a table that west elm broke three times while attempting to deliver. I got Emily on the phone and she was both informative and funny. Quick and easy estimate, easy to schedule a appointment. Pro tip #3. When the big, clean van shows up, take a look inside. Everything is super clean, organized and neat. The pads they use are top of the line. Finally, my moving team was Joeseph, Jose and Earl. Joseph was the supervisor(?) and he drove the truck and was responsible for contacting me (a reminder text the previous night!), the paperwork and the finalizing any loose ends. What great service. Joseph has been with Lulu's 8 years, Jose 12(Jose has forgotten more moving tricks than most people will ever know!), and Earl (the kid!) 2. Who does that? My husband and I recently moved from Berkeley to Walnut Creek and are very happy that we chose Lulu's Hauling to do the job for us.  After having had a totally flawless moving experience with them, we can wholeheartedly recommend their services.  Not a single one of our possessions was broken or scratched.   A crew of three seasoned movers, each of whom has been with the company for many years, arrived promptly at our house at the designated hour.  They listened carefully to all my concerns and instructions, then proceeded to dive into the task of moving the contents of our house into the moving van.  These are impressively dedicated and hard-working men.  They worked efficiently and with great diligence.  They carefully and expertly wrapped every item, paying special attention to fragile items.   I was particularly concerned about a heavy walnut sit-stand desk and an expensive leather chair that I have.  They took extra care with these items, wrapping them in blankets and plastic wrap and carefully loading them into the moving van.  When we arrived at the new location, since they had listened carefully to my instructions, they already knew where I wanted the pieces to go and quickly moved them into position.  Not only did they move in the pieces, but they also reconstructed pieces that had to be dismantled at the old house in order to move them.  I was enormously grateful at their adeptness and skill in reassembling the pieces that had to be taken apart.  Our house was basically ready  to go when the moving team left that day. The team was led by a man named Joseph.  It's easy to see why Joseph was chosen to lead the team.  It's a real pleasure to see when someone is good at their job and enjoys their work.  He is affable, professional, and customer-focused.  He explained what to expect from the process as well as certain details about liability and insurance.  He was friendly and chatty; he put us at ease and we thoroughly enjoyed his presence throughout this important and busy day. Since we'd never moved before, we were honestly not sure what to expect from the process.  But now that we've seen Lulu's Hauling in action, we've learned what expert and top-notch moving service means, when you experience it. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

They're fast and efficient, though they don't really care about your stuff. 4th time repeat customer, but might consider only using to haul big items. Recommendations: they do furniture, boxes, and glass. Don't let them pack anything (movers never care about your stuff), and don't have them move expensive electronics or anything like that. Also, since they don't really adhere to mask safety (it's tough when moving big, heavy items) just don't stay too long indoors with them and keep windows open. On the 2nd time, they gouged out a huge scratch on the hardwood floors. On the 3rd time, when moving expensive, heavy electronics, they rolled them around on the ground (in the box). 4th time, when instructed to just put a pile of wallscrolls into the closet if they were in the way, they taped them together. This caused visible creases in them. They weren't even instructed to move these items since I did not trust them with it, and yet they still managed to damage hundreds of dollars worth of wallscrolls. Also managed to break a wheel on a plastic dresser, but it's probably time to replace it. They also set packing paper on the stove and accidentally turned the stove on and set some of the paper on fire. They did manage to put the fire out without assistance, but the place smelled of smoke for the duration of the move. They tried very hard to shove a chair and a dresser through a door, but it didn't really fit, so they removed the door to move the dresser. There's unfortunately a few chips on the door itself (just needs a little paint), but that was nice to be able to remove a door and then put it back. They also didn't really have masks on. It kept dropping or it wouldn't cover their nose. Any time they were outside, they'd just have it hanging from one ear. I have a sore throat now, so hope it's just a cold from somewhere else. Could have been from anywhere, but the mask usage was rather lackluster. They are indeed very fast and will get your stuff to your new place in record time. They'll jam it in the door or remove it if necessary! If you're on a time budget, they're the best. They also have good follow up in case anything does happen. They'll try to make it right within their ability. read more

Miracle workers who start with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and ends with the same attitude despite having to go up and down 3 flights of stairs while moving large loads of boxes and furniture for 10+hours. Instead of complaining about the load of my poorly planned and heavy boxes, the team smiled and said it was packed perfectly fine when I apologized. We had Dwight (team lead), Dennis, Carlos and Eddie help us with our move. Lulu's was very responsive and made me feel prepared for my move. On the day of, they arrived early and brought 2 trucks at no extra charge. They obviously know what they're doing as we stuffed the 2 trucks with our things and was so glad they had the foresight to bring the extra truck. The team wrapped and prepared all our furniture to ensure there was no damage along the move and Dennis, who obviously must be great at Tetris, ensured to maximize the truck space to fit as much as they could. Everyone worked really quickly and Dwight took notes of where everything would go in the new home and communicated clearly with his team so that everyone was on the same page. These guys are professionals and know what they're doing! On top of being hardworking, professional, humble and positive guys, the main reason I call them miracle workers is because they were able to fit our treadmill through a narrow hallway and narrow doorway into a room we originally planned it to be in without calculating the dimensions. They first told us they didn't think it'd go in due to how narrow the halls and doorway was, but after asking once if they could try (and this was after they've worked 9+hrs into our move and it was already dark outside), they all gladly said yes and said "it wouldn't hurt to try" Although if it didn't work, that would have mean breaking their backs even more to get it out of the narrow hallways, but they still wanted to give it a try since they could see we wanted it. Dennis made sure to line our wood floors and doorways with padding to prevent any damage, and the crew worked their magic and got the treadmill in. They troubleshooted and figured out how to get it in. These guys are professionals! We were given multiple quotes, some of which were cheaper than Lulu's but we had worked with Lulu's 5 years ago when we first moved into our home and remembered they were fast and did a good job. We decided to just go with a company we've had a positive experience with and trusted. We're so glad we did.
