Stopped here after a medical appointment. It was close to quitting time so the dining room was not only spotless but empty. Our server was very gracious and attentive. I ordered a bacado omelette with sautéed jalapeños and hash browns and a cup of coffee. The omelette was enormous but delicious. I especially loved the sautéed jalapeños with it. Yum! The hash browns were not a favorite. After a couple of bites, I passed. The coffee was very weak. I prefer very strong coffee and espresso. We were treated like Queens and King. The service was amazing!!! Lisa was phenomenal, the restaurant was packed with customers but she paid attention to every detail for our large party of seven. It was10:30 am on a Sunday morning so we ordered breakfast. From the pancakes, to the skillets, to the crepes everything was seasoned and well prepared. As a very long time customer of Lumes as I have patronized each of their locations for over 20 years. We moved close to the location in Frankfort and want to like this one but find that the food is not on par with the other locations. The food lacks flavor and consistency as does the service. To me it seems this one needs a change in management to one that cares and not just sits at the counter reading the paper. This is reflected in the lower number of customers there. read more

The restaurant is clean, we were seated immediately for a Saturday morning. The service was friendly and efficient, the food came super fast, almost as if it were pre-made. Great breakfast and lunch place went there with nine of us this morning and although they don't reserve a table, we called them and told them we were coming and they had a pretty much set up for us. I had a short stack of well done crêpes with honey my wife had a Greek omelette, my daughter had one of those things where they pile everything on it and she left off the eggs. My grandson have a omelette. My granddaughter had a fruit plate. Everybody had something different and everybody loved their mail and because the size of the serving is huge here we had lots of food to goand stand every meal as it comes out of the kitchen to make sure it's perfect. First thing to note - the portions are HUGE! if you don't eat that much then be ready to split something with a friend or be ready to take it home. Good old family style portions to fill you up! Ordered a smorgasbord of things. Dutch Baby / German Pancake. This creation of oven backed goodness that comes out looking like a pregnant pie pan. It is really good and a must try as the texture is chewy and taste sweet and moist. I'd definitely order this as it was really good. My wife ordered the potato Benedict where instead of English muffins you get potatoes instead and she said it was delicious. I ordered the corned beef hash and it was so so. The corned beef was not crispy but looked like it was just cooked up out of a can. Also the pancakes were a bit chalky as well. Usually love Lumes but not this location. I took my nephew to lunch. He had chicken strips w/fries. I asked for Crepe Florentine (which used to be on the menu). We both had a soda. Our bill was over $50. I knew there would be an upcharge for the change/crepe insides but certainly not what I got charged. It was almost $30 for those crepes. Instead of switching out several ingredients on their Mediterranean crepe special for $15.99, they charged me $11 for just the actual crepes and then ala carted everything else including the eggs inside! The lady kept saying I added so much. Eggs, spinach and bacon? AND they charged each ingredient by 3 because they gave me 3 crepes (which I didn't ask for). Not cool. Way overpriced for what you get. $3.49 for coffee? Really? $3.50 for a soda and only ONE refill? $5.29 for soup? Went there last week ordered an omelet and didn't want hash browns or toast or pancakes but rather a side of bacon. You'd think they'd not charge for the bacon but they most certainly did. So the total for an omelet, a sandwich, side of bacon, a soup, a coffee and a drink was $45! With tip close to $55!! Then theres a "service fee" of $1.64. So close to $60 for lunch/breakfast for two people!! I'm finished with this place . Ridiculous. Two of us ate for less at Texas Roadhouse, and Piasanos in New Lenox. Waitress was very nice and patient. Unfortunately, food was not the best. Requested crispy bacon and it was completely burnt. Canned pineapple and cherries on Mickey Mouse pancakes was just a little unusual. Biscuits and gravy were nothing to write home about. Also, way too expensive. Kids meals come with white milk but not chocolate milk. Waitress confirmed if that was ok and we assumed if they were going to charge $3.50 each, it would be much larger than the dinky little cups they came out with. Visited there today and everything on the menu had a price increase. My daughter had French Toast that was supposed to have baked apples with it. When we questioned it, we were told oh no, that is an add on. They charged 4.95 for a tiny bowl of baked apples. They also charged $4.00 for a glass... YES A GLASS..... one single glass of milk!! I could have bought a gallon of milk for less. This is absolutely ridiculous. Plus they charge 3% if you use a credit card! I WILL NOT be going back. Don't come here if you need to make a phone call or use the Internet because there is next to no cell service in the surrounding area and there is no Wi-Fi provided here even though every other Lumes has it. These operators are only in business to make money and have no concern for you. I asked her about why their the only Lumes without Wi-Fi and she shrugged her shoulders as if to say - "it's not my problem"! As I said in my review above, they use margarine "spread" instead of real butter and compromise their pancakes to save themselves money because saving money is their reason for business. read more

First and last time... today was super busy so they were on a number wait system, they told me it would be 20 minutes but after about 10 minutes of seeing people who came after me being called I walked up and asked how long would it be for me to be called and the cashier was very sharp when telling me to ask the other lady that she doesn't know, then the other lady came and said in a rude manner that she already called me, I told her that I was sitting by the door and that I did not hear her because it's very noisy, I mean it was a full house... she found us a booth but again she rubbed me the wrong way... then we waited a bit for the kitchen was backed up, I am a regular of Lumes in Orland and I found this location subpar... the quality of the food wasn't there... including dry pancakes. read more

One of a number of Lume's restaurants in the south suburbs of Chicago...this one was pretty good. All of these Lume's are connected through their managers, although I don't know if the relationship is any deeper than that. But that said, you can tell the difference between each one just from the management. My favorite is the Lume's on 159th street in Orland Park (4 stars). This one in Frankfort (3 stars) is newer, having just been put up in the last few years. It is directly across the street from Alsip Nursery on LaGrange Road, so if you are in the neighborhood buying stuff for your garden stop in here on the same trip. Interior is nice and clean, food is typical Lume's...and I mean that in a good way. They have that huge menu here where they offer so many options...maybe one day they'll simplify it. Portions are usually too much to eat. Strawberry crepes are the best...eggs Benedict are very nice (get the half order)...coffee is pretty watered down. I wish they would get some substantial coffee to go with their nice breakfast meals...all of the Lume's suffer the same watered down coffee. The Nutella crepes are also very nice. The egg dishes are the usual...generally done very well. Lume's are a nice breakfast stop in the south suburbs. read more

Went for breakfast w a friend. Food was good but waitress was stalking us from the moment we got there. Felt like she was rushing us to leave; kept walking by, we had to ask her for more water. Then went to pay and owner I assume; has her hand out waiting for the check. She never asked how our meal was; my friend stopped and said Hi, how are you?! before handing her the check. Very disappointing. Since we've been at other Lumes locations, we knew what to order or pretty much what to expect. We were surprised though and not in a good way. One of my favorites for breakfast - potato benedict - was bad and not anything like let's say at Palos Heights location. It was served without hashbrowns and on potato pancakes that had no taste. My husband's Mayan skillet was greasy and just bland. However, we had serving skills-free waitress who haven't stopped even once by our table to ask about our meal or anything at all. Blond hostess was quite miserable as well. We were used to be asked how was everything etc., this had long unfriendly face, just took our money and hasn't even told thank you nor wished us a nice day. Overall , this Lumes is a bad rep for the rest of the chain. Will never come back to Frankfort location. read more

This was the worst experience ever. I had eggs under cooked burnt hashbrowns, and Burnt toast. My daughter had a skillet that was supposed to have cheese, the vegetables were under cooked there was no cheese. The waitress didn't come back until we were done eating all that we wanted to eat. I am very happy with the service this restaurant provides specially with Wendy, and the guys cooking in the back awesome gracias(thanks). I've tried a lot of their dishes and they're not holding back on portions like most places, by giving you two eggs and a little plate of hash brows like IHOP. It's a huge plate full of food like ninety-five percent covered lol My favorite dish are the blueberry crepes mmm just thinking about them makes me hungry . The omelettes are huge nice and cheesy by the way when they get to your table the cheese is fully melted. (Don't you hate it when you get a omelette and the cheese still cold, like you can easily separate the ingredients anyways back to the food) hash brows nice and crispy. The all American turkey club was awesome it's like eight tiny sandwiches lol waffle fries are a must. I order this to go,wow I was impressed did I ever mention you get a side of soup lol . Okay enough lol I can't go on and on, bottom line is the service is really good no waiting for a long time for your waitress to come and take your order go in and out.
