Came here this morning for a nice breakfast while waiting for my prescription to be filled next door at CVS. I was seated right away without issue. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. I was immediately given water, a menu and was told my server would be right over which was great . Yasmin came right over and happily took my order with a few customizations (egg whites with spinach, turkey bacon and Turkey sausage for the Orange 2 x 4 breakfast with French toast). She made it easy . Everything came out fairly quickly and looked delicious. Overall, the taste was flavorful for my whole meal as Yasmin suggested the French toast over the pancakes, so I will give her a nod for a good suggestion ! Will definitely be back. Place was packed, but honestly in a good way. Felt nice to just sit down and relax. The atmosphere had that classic Sunday brunch energy, the people laughing, plates clinking, just a good morning all around. The staff was super friendly too, even with how busy it was. I ordered the Poblano Benedict, two poached eggs with chorizo, a little cilantro on top, all sitting on a roasted poblano pepper held together by an English muffin. From the very first bite the chipotle hollandaise sauce took the spot... wow. Creamy and smoky, just the right amount of heat. I really wanted to like this place.. at least for the two entrees that we ordered I wasn't satisfied I ordered the chicken chilaquiles and it was ground and sauce I was expecting it to be a little more drier.. we also ordered the poblano Benedict.. it was okay I was thinking that would be a poblano sauce on it instead of the Hollandaise but that was my mistake... This place is located in the Palos Crossings strip mall. The parking lot is small, and we could not park in front of or close to the restaurant. We went around and parked on the other side of the lot and walked down, which wasn't a big deal. We came for brunch to start our day. I was going to get their Orange's Waffle but decided on one egg and bacon (they give four bacon strips) with pancakes. It comes with hash browns. Hubby got the same. The pancakes were fluffy, and hubby thought their syrup was very sweet but liked it. It was too sweet for me. I enjoyed their coffee, but the food was okay. The staff was friendly and greeted us upon entering, and we were seated quickly. Our waitress (sorry, I don't remember her name) was attentive and just as pleasant. Ambiance is nice. My ham and eggs and coffee were fine with nothing bad to say but after my waitress dropped off my food, I never saw her again for say 20 mins when she gave me my check. The guy next to me at the counter told the girl walking by that he was waiting for his waitress to pay the check and still waiting ten mins later. A guy from some table walked into the kitchen to ask "who can help me pay my check?" It's mind boggling to think that these poor excuses for a waitress actually expect to be paid a tip! Alright I'm going to give this place a very honest review. I know this place is very new. They need to get some signs that are on the street where people can see. I'm sure a lot of people in palos would love to try out a new breakfast place. Unfortunately when you walk in there is an area to the right with a bar area, and to the right is the dining room. On the side with the bar you can see all of the workers sitting down and not really in any type of hurry to seat you. Once you are seated then it goes fairly quick. My husband had the eggs Benedict which he said was really good. My only wish is that the staff would not all be sitting around while were needing things. I started with the dulce de leche latte, and props for them to have their mexican caramel sauce made in house. The orange's pancakes were delicious, fluffy, and absolutely loved the mascarpone orange fillings. One of my favorites of the meal. Also tried a few of their benedicts, starting with the avocado smoked salmon. The eggs were runny, the bread was soft, and avocado and smoked salmon is a top tier combo overall. The skirt steak benedict, this was a little more filling, the mushrooms added a nice umami flavor to the steak benedict, but I prefer the avocado salmon benedict because it was lighter and brighter. The benedicts came with hashbrowns that went great with some hot sauce, but the hashbrowns were not that crispy. I had their plane pancakes as well, these were once again fluffy and go with butter very nicely. I enjoyed their French Toast, it had similar toppings as the Orange's Pancakes, like the mascarpone orange fillings, strawberry sauce, berries, granola and whipped cream. The texture of the French toast is more spongy versus the pancakes are more on the fluffier side. I also had their surprisingly incredible chilaquiles. The chips were crunchy and toasted to perfection, definitely a great traditional Mexican dish done right. Lastly, I tried their Greek Omelette, it was prepared with spinach, feta, and tomato. I thought it was average tasting, and could've used more of a Greek flare by including olives in the omelette. read more
