Bad choice to do that in my opinion. I wanted a baked potato, you know in the foil and hot. Nope, not per the rules. You get cold cut half potatoes on a cold plate. No way to get around it unless you pay another $5.00 for the foil I guess. I've been coming here for over 30 years. I think I'm done with this place. Service was not that good either. Our server didn't have any recommendations besides a hamburger or Reuben. The beer wasn't very cold, very disappointing. Our vegetable soup was good but wasn't very hot. My meal wasn't hot either, it must have been sitting in the kitchen awhile. Not sure if I'll be back. read more

Stopped into Chef Klaus' Bier Stube and had such a great meal! The schnitzel was fantastic, tender, and full of flavor. You can tell they really care about quality and tradition here. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and has that classic German charm that makes you want to stay awhile. The only downside for me was the charge for sharing plates. The portions are generous, easily enough to split, so it's a bit disappointing to be charged extra just for sharing on top of the pricing already being a bit steeper for German food. Other than that, everything was wonderful. Great food, friendly service, and an authentic, welcoming vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! read more

If you order a dinner meal, you will get a very nice bread platter with yummy homemade butter, dark bread, liver pate (actually pretty good), and onions/carrots/celery. The portions won't let you leave hungry! The ambiance is a little difficult to describe in a few words, but let's just say it's very German and World War II focused! This German restaurant is very unassuming because it is located on a strip. This place is truly a hidden gem! My son wanted to eat German food and chose this place to celebrate his birthday. I am glad we came here because the food is fantastic! Someone from their staff took a little break outside and as we walked up, he welcomed us and opened the door for us. He was very pleasant! We came during the Super Bowl, so it was not crowded, and they had the game on. The place has a lot of German decor. My son wanted to sit in a booth, and as we were getting ready to sit down, our waiter, Michael, came and asked if wanted to switch to a table. We decided to take him up on his suggestion and we are so glad we did because the amount of food that came out would not have been big enough to fit all the plates. They have an extensive beer menu, a dessert menu, Sunday Special menu, and their regular menu. Michael was an awesome waiter. He is very friendly and gave his suggestions/recommendations when it came to choosing the sides for our entrees. He also came back often to check in and see how we were doing. My husband had a Sunday Special: a half slab of baby back ribs, with red cabbage and mashed sweet potatoes, which I did not take a photo of. I also had a Sunday special: the walleye pike with green beans and potato casserole and my son had the wurst schnitzel with green beans and potato casserole. Everything was delicious and the portions are huge. We were too stuffed for dessert, but, we will definitely be going back and hopefully next time, we will have room for dessert! The place was doneup with a lot of German knick snacks that were interesting and they had a one man band that was entertaining. The only down side was they wouldn't split the bill. The food is German, so lots of vinegar. I had the roulade, which was good, but the neat was extremely dry, even though there was a sauce. The cabbage was so sour that I couldn't eat it, but the baked sweet potato was wonderful. Mario was my server and he was so polite and considerate. He's actually the reason I gave this place 4 stars. The restaurant is in a strip mall tucked away yet once inside you feel like you're at a lodge. Chock full of German kitsch you can't possibly see it all in one trip! I had the jager schnitzel since it was my first time here so went basic. It was so tender and gravy was delicious! They give you bread and spread before your meal which was nice. I forgot the name of what my friend had but it had Swiss cheese and sausage with his breaded schnitzel. He wouldn't let me taste lol I tried picketed beets which actually weren't bad to my surprise. I was at a table on Monday night and witnessed a situation at the bar area between a customer and a bartender. What I witnessed was so unprofessional between how the bartender treated the paying customer. Just be aware of how customers are treated at this establishment. Not good. read more

We went with 12 friends on 10/18/25. We have been going here for years. the service is always abrupt and rude by someone. The 2 hostesses just took our end table, despite us saying we were waiting for a few friends. They flung my friend's purse. Taking this table put one of our friend's having a small corner area to sit at. there was no room for her plate of food. when we originally took our table back, after they walked away, the short, dark haired lady told my friend, sitting on this corner to "relax" and rudely walked away. It's such an authentic, delicious, fun restaurant. Each plate was better than the last. Portions were HUGE!!! We had 3 in our party, Each of us went home with enough leftovers for 2 extra meals. We especially LOVED our waitress Sandie! She was knowledgeable and fun! Each item she suggested was DELICIOUS! Finally, we truly enjoyed the atmosphere!
