Unfortunately very underwhelming. I've had this place saved for quite awhile and was so excited to get to it today. The woman working was cold, disengaged, and lacked any form of people skills. She didn't acknowledge us aside from throwing our pastries on the paper plates (which were also unexpected and honestly really took away from the aesthetic of the food). My strawberry pastry was delicious, but a bit wet and had to eat it fast. On the other hand- the bacon and cheddar was cold, barely had any bacon or cheese. My vanilla latte was excellent though. Honestly I wouldn't recommend this place- the food is hit or miss, the service really disappointed us, and the wifi was incredibly slow. You're better off trying another bakery.
Cute Lynwood bakery with plenty of seating and lots of pastry options. I've been here twice now, and both times it was packed and lively. Service is efficient, and parking was easy in the lot out front. I pre-ordered 4 Dubai chewy cookies because the first time I visited, they were sold out, though when I went to pick them up, they had plenty of stock, so I guess I didn't need to commit to buying four ahead of time! I was pretty excited to try the cookies because they were so hyped on social media, but these ones fell a bit short for me. The chocolate and pistachio flavor were good, but the filling wasn't crunchy at all, as kadaif normally is. My search continues. The bacon cheddar croissant was not great. I could barely tell that there was any bacon or cheddar, and the texture was a bit wet and lacked flakiness and airiness. The pistachio croissant was probably my favorite thing that I had here - great amount of filling, and the croissant itself had a nice texture. The strawberry scone was also yummy, though nothing mind-blowing: it had a good heft to it, and they did not skimp on the strawberries. One thing that rubbed me the wrong way is that the breakfast sandwiches, which had eggs and meat and come pre-cooked, were just sitting on top of the counter uncovered, right where the customers order/pay, whereas all the other pastries were behind a plastic wall or inside the pastry case. I overheard the staff saying that the sandwiches had been out there since opening, so ~4 hours. This definitely dissuaded me from getting one :( EDIT: to respond to the store's reply to my post, I did see one of the "displayed only" sandwiches being sold to a customer :(
Bright, airy interior with plenty of windows, natural light, and seating. The staff was welcoming and brought the food out to our table. The Korean-style garlic cream croissant was very good, while the scone was decent but nothing special. Food was served on paper plates and cups even though we were dining in. Cappuccino rating: 7/10
YUM! Quick little grab and go spot for delicious pastries. Got there on a Sunday morning and got the bacon & cheddar croissant warmed up. Absolutely delicious! The employees were nice. The tables were clean and looked like a nice little stop for a coffee.
It's been years since I've been here and the cafe has evolved! It can be packed on weekends and parking is limited but they do have a lot that has other businesses around. I came here with a girl friend and I had Osmanthus Oolong Milk tea (yes they serve milk teas with boba) and it was SO good! I got a few pastries to go to. One of the staff members gave me one of the lemon loafs on the house! So sweet of her They usually have their breakfast sandwiches and sell out before 12! They also have an assortment of pastries, savory and sweet. Great place to hang out and gather! The bathroom is clean! Really appreciated the additional products such as pads and tampons for women and seat covers haha.
Very good pastries in the northend. The croissants i ordered are crisp and flaky at first bite, which is what I look for in a French pastry. Often times, I'll have leftovers for the next day. In this case, Rila's pastries are best enjoyed day of. Get there early for the specialty pastries like the pistachio croissant.

Came here at 11 AM on Sunday and we were lucky enough to still have a nice selection of pastries to choose from! The pastries cleared out before noon though, so get here early! Service was very nice and considerate - they offered our pastries and brought them to our table. My favorite was the pistachio croissant - not too sweet, and good flavors of pistachio. I also really loved the pecan croissant - think pecan pie inside a croissant! The crust was so much better than pies. Mushroom Gruyère croissant was also very savory and delicious. I didn't love the 2D chocolate croissant as much but that is just personal preference. They have good WiFi too if you're looking to work here. Their restroom is super nice too and clean.
Unfortunate after writing my first review I had to delete it and write a negative review due to seeing the owner response on another review. Based off the owners response the sandwiches on display that were not behind any plastic shielding were meant to be display only. When I initially asked to order a sandwich, they apparently ran out of them in the heated box in the back and they took one from the display and proceeded to heat it up. I noticed it came from the display and I had to specifically ask when the display item was made, which they told me 7am and I was there at around 10:30-11 am. I had to specifically tell them that I didn't want that item because there was no protection over the sandwiches and the display sandwiches were very close to all the people in line ordering for hours. Based off what the owner has said this should have been display only unfortunately I was about to be served this. I was able to get a different item per request but it was a cheaper item and I didn't want to go through the process of a refund for the price difference. The issue is that this should have never occurred in the first place based off the owners response. The coffee shop itself was fine and it had plenty of seating but I find this an unacceptable scenario that should not have occurred. For reference the sandwiches are on the top right of the display case where the pastries are.
Saw that Rila Bakery & Cafe in Lynnwood launched a new breakfast sandwich yesterday, so I went to check it out today! Ambiance was open and bright. This popular café is known for its unique 2D croissants and has been around for years, still drawing crowds from all over. The staff were super friendly, and helpful. I ordered a latte and the new breakfast sandwich, and picked up some pastries to-go for a friend. The coffee was smooth and flavorful, and the pastries were as delicious as ever. They also introduce new flavors every month, which keeps things exciting! I will definitely come visit often!
One of the best places to get a wide variety of pastries. I love their almond croissants with my whole heart and go here for those almost weekly at this point. The fact that you can actually see the kitchen and staff first thing in the morning through the window is so humanizing and really makes you understand that you're supporting peoples dreams and pursuits. I come early in the morning when they first open so the vibes are always calm which is nice. I would definitely recommend getting daily pastries instead of other places like starbucks which prepackage every item in plastic. The prices are similar enough and the quality is just so much better here! I bout a bakers dozen the other day for a coworkers last day and they lasted less than 15 mins before people couldn't restrain themselves.
I attended the 1st Seattle Best Croissant & Baguette Competition on 3/23/25 and was struck by the accomplished baking skill of the pâtissier at Rila Bakery & Café. The fact that the pâtissier worked in a restaurant but turned to pastry to develop a business is ASTONISHING. Her mushroom croissant and the salmon croissant as well as the pistachio croissant were delicious! The fresh local ingredients from the Seattle area shine through in the croissants taste. The event showcased a few other pastries and their baguette . But I was so struck by the savory croissants, I kept coming back to their table. Delicious! Lucky you in Lynwood area to have Rila Bakery & Café easily available to you!

The bakery is inspired by the Japanese Rilakkuma bear, which is a really cute touch, as I saw them all around the store. They offer a great variety of unique pastries, including the trendy flat croissant. While the flat croissant was fun to try and very crispy, I still prefer the traditional style. The pistachio croissant and Hokkaido cheese danish were my personal favorites because they were incredibly fresh, flaky, and buttery. Besides the treats, they have a solid selection of coffee and milk teas. The interior is spacious, and the staff is both quick and friendly. read more

Time to update my ancient May 2017 review for Rila Bakery & Cafe. I've stopped in several more times since then with the most recent visit on 3/21/26. I have visited for takeout, dined onsite solo, or with others. It was really nice to receive a generous gift card from other family members. Interior pretty much has stayed the same, with some addition of merch, and plushies on a front bench by the entrance. Your attention will be drawn to their pastry case. Pro tip: make sure to show up in the morning for better selection for both sweet and savory items. Their pastries are baked fresh onsite, but I've made the mistake of showing up midday and towards closing and their pastry case would be slim pickings. They also have a great variety of beverages available too. Espresso, teas, and milk teas as examples. The mocha has improved, very coffee forward and not cloyingly sweet. Just needs to be hotter temp wise, but that's just me. My favorite go tos has been variable depending on availability, but recent visits have been their ham and cheese croissants. I greatly appreciate the offer to have it warmed up if dining onsite. It's just a strange pairing to place such tasty pastries on a paper plate and then provided flatware, knife & fork or just a fork. I appreciate that this indie bakeshop & cafe has been going strong and steady since 2016, so coming up on a decade! Flying under the radar, but iykyk this is a popular destination. I've been wanting to try Rila for awhile and finally had the chance to go! They had a ton of options around 11am on a Saturday and no line. We tried the banana foster flat croissant, a breakfast sandwich (not sure the name, but had sesame seeds on it), and the lemon croissant. Every pastry item was around $5-9. Everything was delicious and unique, but veryyyyy sweet. I would recommend having with black coffee. I ended up trying their matcha latte, which was also great, but very sweet as well. Good to know for next time so that I can adjust the sweetness level. Overall, a solid experience and I would come back when I'm next in Lynnwood. read more

The staff here are incredibly nice and helpful. The vibes were nice and cozy as well. The pastries here are out of this world amazing and affordable. The mushroom croissant is perfectly umami and the mushrooms are cooked perfectly. The pistachio croissant is also the perfect blend of sweet and savory. The iced chai was also great. What a gem! Yummy pastries and the boba is very tasty at less than $6. Will have to come back to try the flat croissants. Service was great. The cashier was friendly. Ambiance was thriving. Lots of people there chatting and studying, but still plenty of space available. read more
Came here around 10am on a Wed. Bought pistachio croissants for my friends and a coffee cake and a flat croissant with strawberry basil for myself. My friends enjoyed the pistachio croissants very much - very crunchy and we could see the pistachios outside and inside. Pistachio croissants were also very big sized. The coffee cake was not as big and did not have anything inside. The flat croissant was very delicious but it got messy when I was eating it as the stuffs inside would be squished out as I was biting it, so the strawberries would fall off. I also enjoyed the milk tea very much. Too bad boba was not available until 11am. The staff was very friendly and helpful in answering my questions. The facility was clean and cute. Perfect for studying or hanging out with friends. Free wifi available. Parking was easy as there was a parking lot. read more

This is my go-to spot for breakfast and coffee in Lynnwood. Their biscuit sandwich and "the ferry" are my two favorites. They are so hearty and hold me for most the day. Just note they don't offer the breakfast sandwiches after 11AM. If you're looking for something sweeter, I love the mixed berry danish, blueberry scone or chocolate chip cookie. I'm also a huge fan of the matcha latte with a little vanilla added. The staff here are super friendly and have great service. I come here at least a couple days a week and can't recommend them enough! read more

Super cute little cafe with convenient parking. Plenty of tables to work or sit at and polite staff. The pastries are definitely the point that draws us all in and there's a lot to choose from. They have breakfast sandwiches that are very popular. I got the ferry with sriracha mayo, bacon and eggs. Delicious. I also got a small strawberry croissant to fulfill my sugar craving. Lucious pastry cream, sweet strawberries, and crisp pastry - it's heaven. I don't often come over to Lynwood but I'll be back to try some other things eventually. read more

We go to a lot of places all over the PNW to try out new places. We just happened to be up here this morning. Temple in Seattle, T. Angus in Vancouver, and Twisted Croissant in Portland are some of our favorites. Rila ranks right up there with all of them in quality of croissant - the ham and cheese was incredible and my hubby's pistachio croissant was on point. I decided to do their smoked salmon with cream cheese and all the fixings - LOVED IT I'm laughing right now because I told my husband that if Rila wasn't good, we'd go to Temple afterwards when we got home. No need to go - I'm happy read more

I'm not sure why I gave this place a 4 star because it totally desserve a 5 star!!!! This is my 3rd time being here now and it's is consistently amazing, thank God it's not close to me or I will be coming here weekly. We got the smoked salmon croissant as well as the Hokkaido cheese tart to try this time and both were amazing. Salmon croissant - filled with salmon, cream cheese and onion and they heated it up for us which made the outside a perfect crisp. Hokkaido cheese tart --- love how much cheese is in this thing and how flaky the outside is. Has a hint of sweetness but also cheesy. Highly recommend if you're in the area or if you just want good pastries. It's a big place and decor is nice and also a good place to study, work,etc read more

Love this cozy, comfortable spot. Sweet staff. The owner/baker is always present. He takes has much pride in his establishment. Visit every Thursday for mushroom croissant and a bit of computer time. Space is very clean,quiet, with good music, hushed tones. Enough space to relax. No parking issues. A little haven... oh and the best sophisticated pastries!! See you there! read more

This bakery seems to specialize in croissants but they also have some unique items like flat croissants and Korean baked goods. We had the almond croissant and pistachio croissant and Portuguese egg tart which were all crunchy and flaky and warm like they should be. read more

I heard of this cafe long time ago and good reviews so we had a high hope. We arrived a little before 11AM Sunday and the cafe was pretty busy. We ordered Pistachio croissant, Hokkaido Cheese Danish, and an egg tart along with Americano and Cold brew soda. Pistachio croissant was okay. A little too sweet for our liking. Won't be getting it again next time though considering the taste and price. Hokkaido Cheese danish, however, was really good! It was flaky and really loved it. Egg tart was the problem one. I don't know if it's just today but it was underbaked. When I cut the egg tart in half to share with my husband I can tell the tart was a little doughy. And I was right - it was not flaky at all and i can taste the dough and egg custard was not fully cooked. Had to throw this one out. The service was okay too. read more
