My favorite nail gal is there and she does a wonderful job. Her name is Jen. As far as pedicures go, I feel inclined to share my most recent story. I went with my sister in law to get basic pedicures and I did not receive the procedure I paid for (no hot rocks or massage) it also felt very rushed and my polish was chipping after a day. My sister in law had it worse... she had an infection in her toenail so severely a few days afterwards that she had to go to the ER and get prescribed antibiotics. I do NOT recommend for pedicures. read more

Sweet Mom-in-law (MIL) and I had another nice time at LNS yesterday! Like a hermit crab shedding his too small shell and emerging to live in a more comfortable shell, I boldly went for my first pedi in 2 years. [Bold describes the nice lady who actually tackled these unruly talons!] MIL got her normal French tipped pedi and I got my normal "normal" OPI pedi. We wore our masks, except when I was sipping my one "light fruity" white wine, which was such a nice touch! And MIL sipped her small bottled water. MIL's tech, Lisa was very smiley and sweet and kind to dear MIL and really took her time in doing MIL's toes up right! Lisa even commented that "these take about 30 minutes to dry, so take your time!" MIL explained LNS and maybe the entire mall was destroyed a few years ago in a horrible tornado that struck the region (I forget which year it was). Now, they do not have an area where you sit and dry your mani/pedis with lights and/or fans - you know, and flip through magazines. That's okay with me we were able to relax and chit chat sitting in our massage chairs! LNS is spacious, mostly all staff were wearing masks and gloves and our pedi bowls had single use liners they actually used. The ladies were kind and I felt like an absolute spoiled princess with my nice fresh pedicure! MIL insisted on "treating" me and paying so I can't comment on their pricing. She is a regular here, so maybe I will ask her. I used the ladies' room and it was sparkling clean, with an auto air freshener, pull towel dispenser and nice and warm water, plenty of soap and a can of lysol! If I weren't so busy you know, using the facilities I would have taken a photo! Only suggestion would be for the techs to either a. ask the customer to use the timer on their cell phone when told of the 30 minute suggested dry time, or b. set a timer that could sit near the customer so the customer would have confidence that they are sufficiently dry and all set to go. Fortunately for us, we weren't in a hurry and lost track of time and ended up just fine (see pictures) - thank you LNS, I'll see ya next year! Requested a soak off and overlay on my natural nails. She filed the top coat off my old set then chopped my natural nails off with acrylic still on. Very painful. Then tried to pop the acrylic off with a plastic nail tip. I asked her again to soak off the old acrylic. She slammed the acetone on the table then walked away and never came back. Another technician came and finished by applying tips to my now very short nails. He did a ok job. They were thick and too wide but at that point I just wanted to be done. overall not a good experience and I ended up paying $75 for something I didn't want. read more

I have tried luminous nails four times and getting a full set every single time within 3 to 4 days I have nails lifting and falling off. I would consider myself an expert as I've been in this business for 20 years, and like to pamper myself. When I asked Tesla to push back and remove my cuticles before putting nails on she's quickly slightly pushed back and that was all. If you do not push back and remove cuticle it was cause lifting and moisture to get under nail. They do not do this here and even when requested it's not done properly. It's truly frustrating to go spend $130 plus tip and have my nails look like crap 3 days later. I really won't be back because this place is about customer over turn then quality, truly very basic skills here and not good work. Don't waste your money for this rushed mid job read more

I've been going here for almost a year. They recently had to close because of the memorial day tornadoes here in Beavercreek. I traveled to a different salon just so I could see Henry or Tiffany to do my nails during the past 5 months as they've been remodeling. Today was their grand reopening! The place is just as beautiful as it was before the tornadoes. Same friendly faces were there to greet me and others as we came through the door!l. The owners are absolutely wonderful people and will do everything in their power to make sure you have a wonderful experience there. They love to pamper everyone, especially Bridal Parties. I randomly stopped in to get my nails done (which is a rare luxury for me). They were able to assist me right away. Linn ended up being the one helping me. I wanted to do something more exciting than the boring French tip I've always done at other salons, so I found a picture on Google of the craziest most over the top nails I could find. I showed Linn the picture and asked "Can we do this?" I was half expecting her to say no but she didn't! She said yes, and ended up making them look better than the picture! She was also very considerate to tell me the price before we started ("We can do it but it'll take awhile and cost around $60-$80, is that okay?") and was also awesome at giving me updates when I asked for things that would bump the price up, since I'm still new to the nail salon life ("If we do them as long as the picture, it'll cost $(x) extra, so it'll bring the total up to $____. Do you want them that long or would you rather make them just a few centimeters shorter and save the money?") ("You said you want to add rhinestones, how many? Because that would an extra $5-10 per stone depending what you get. Is that alright with you?"). Of course I just went all out because it was my birthday and first time EVER doing "fun" nails. Linn was fantastic. Keeping me updated with the price so I wouldn't be surprised at the end. I trusted her to even pick out some of the details like where the rhinestones would look best at because I could tell she had good judgement and knew what she was doing. Then she even told me they have a birthday discount which was perfect! With all the extras I chose to get, it would have been about $140, but with the birthday discount it came to $120. I am hard on my hands as I have horses and keep my nails short; I came in with all SHORT nails - I smashed one nail a week ago, and I can see cracks in the gel but everything is still totally adhered. Impressive! I came here because another horsewoman said gels done here don't peel - I totally agree and am a huge fan so far! As my nails grew, I painted in a similar glitter over the 1/4" gap at the base. I am in this area visiting for a week and desperately needed to get my nails done. As I was driving around the area, I found this place. It's very nice inside, and that should have tipped me off that it would be on the expensive side, but I had looked up their prices. $30 for a full set wasn't bad. They took me right away and informed me that if I wanted gel, that was $13 extra. That seems a bit extreme to me, but I prefer gel because I would likely mess up regular nail polish. Henry did my nails and rushed somewhat through it because he had a regular customer come in. That customer was offered wine and I wasn't even offered water. No biggie. Maybe I'm used to other services when nails are done, but there was no cuticle trim or hand care given. There is gel paint on my fingers that wasn't removed and I wasn't even given lotion. I had to ask for it. All while watching another customer get all that. I was rushed to pay and when I did, somehow the cost came out to $49.10. How did we go from $43 to $49? He said if I had paid in cash than it would have been cheaper. Maybe something to tell your customers up front. While my feet were soaking I told the nail tech what I wanted. He said he wasn't sure if he can do it. I thought at the end he would at least attempt it or find someone who could do it. But, nope. To start out, Ive been looking for a good nail salon in the area for a while now. The last time I got my nails done was in OR at a nail salon where i left a really great review at. I looked through yelp reviews of Luminous Nails and was pretty impressed with that most peole said. I tired to look at thier broucher to see how much a fill in would be, but there website was not working. I called them at noon to asked how much a fil in would cost, the reciptionist told me $22 plus tax which would come to around $25. Which I thought wasnt to bad since most places were charging around $30 and up. Once she told me the price I decided to make an appointment for later on that day at 2 PM. I got to Luminous Nails just shortly before 2 PM, signed in and told her that I have and apppointment at 2. A young women came in behind me as a walk in and was helped before me. I then decided to look for my nail color. While I was looking for my color, another young lady came in as a walk in and wa helped before me. This already made me unhappy about the service, I pourposely called and made and appointment so that I wouldnt have to wait. I then ended up waiting close to 20 minutes before I was help. Then when I was finally helped I ahd the nail tech named Tina. She was nice and worked extremley fast. Gave me a bit of a fuss when I told her that I wanted my nails shorter. (Yet I had asked the reciptionsist on the phone if they are willing to shorten the nails for me at no additional cost and she told me yes. Mind you the receptionist spoke perfect engilish and understood everything that I was asking.) Once I was done I was ready to pay. In my mind im thinking well you know the service started out rough but hopefully they can end on a high note. I get to the recptionist to pay and she tells me that my total is $35. When on their broucher it states $22 for a fill in and $30 for a full set. I only got a fill in so I am still confused to why I paid for more then a full set. I was very upset. Simply becuase I asked at the begning on how much it was going to be before I made my appointment and she told me $22 plus tax. So how does that turn into $35. Then its a completley different price when I am finished is not okay with me. Would I come here again? Probably not, would I reccomend Luminous nails to my friends and family that live in the area. No!! I would not. It is completley unacceptible and unprofessional for them to tell you one price and then charge you something completley different. read more

Definitely not worth the price for basic nails. The service was decent. If you like a very flat nails with no apex than this is the place for you. They consider anything past your nail bed extra length. This was my first time going and my last.
