In the 12+ years I've lived in the neighborhood I've seen many nail salons come and go, but this one is clearly a local staple and here to stay. Although I've gone as a walk-in, I recommend making an appointment because others in the area have realized what a gem this place is. Even when it's packed, the nail technicians take their time and never rush, and treat every customer with care. And what a selection of polishes! Also worth mentioning-- the woman I've seen running the place (owner? manager?) is absolutely delightful, and it seems like the employees are treated with a lot of respect. Attempted to go here for a pedicure one Saturday afternoon. Noticed their sign, which said "Tips in cash only". Since it was a 30 min wait for a pedicure, told staff I would walk to bank, grab cash and return in 5-10 min. Young lady towards front responded in an annoyed voice that they have an ATM inside and if I left, I would have to wait an additional 30-40 min upon my return from the bank. I thought this was ridiculous and left. I do not understand the logic behind losing my place in line if I am going to bank and returning in less than 10 min. read more

I woke up DETERMINED to get a pedicure TODAY!!! The hours were getting away from me and I found this gem! So I have to give this place 5 stars on the all star customer service received from the moment I walked in the door! First off, I'm not sure how they made such a sterile environment so comfy and cozy but they pulled it off effortlessly! Everything is beyond neat, organized and in its place! Let me backtrack a little - I was greeted with a smile, had my coat removed, hung up, helped to the pedicure bench and had my sneakers placed under my jacket in its own little area! Listen here! Then, I was offered the absolute best tasting orange infused iced water I've ever had in my life! The pedicure was nicely done, no niks or cuts. Had my 30 second massage while my toes were drying. We got there on time and sat down and they start on my partner and it took me 30 minutes to realize they weren't going even going to start mine until they finished them. Getting a pedicure during a pandemic can be a risky task at best. But after months of not being able to I decided to treat myself. At Luna nail lounge they make sure that you are safe and can enjoy pampering yourself once again. Upon arrival your temperature is checked and logged. Then you sign a wavier before being seated to receive your service. The staff members all wear face masks, gloves and sometimes shields as well. There is plexiglass up at the manicure stations and they do not seat anyone directly next to you. Aside from that the experience is pretty normal. Not to mention this is a fairly sleek salon. Although I did miss the typical pedicure massage chairs, the manicure stations are set up on what is pretty much a bar that wraps around the front half of the salon. The manicurist sit on the inside & that is where all their tools are kept as well as the cash wrap. I got a mani/pedi with the callus remover for $10 extra. My total came out to 64$. A bit steep but worth it to know that your being safe. read more

Went into this place for the first time b/c it's near my apt and the reviews were great the pictures indicated a cute, clean, covid safe place. While the inside is clean, that's about all I can say... Got a gel manicure that was fine for $40, over priced, but whatever, happy to contribute as much as I can to local businesses. Also got an eyebrow wax - I was very clear that I just wanted a little clean up and the woman DESTROYED my eyebrows. I can't emphasize how bad enough. Beware and stay away for any waxing. read more

I hate to leave a bad review for any business I REALLY DO! But, I have given this place so many chances to get it right but alas, I have to walk away from Luna Nail Lounge. I've been at least 15 times and of those times maaaaybe 3, I've walked out with a decent mani/pedi. They're all really sweet, the place is very clean but they are so inconsistent when it comes to quality of service. I went last night for a regular, basic, everyday mani/pedi and after 1.5 hours(!!!) my hands look like my 3 year old niece painted them. I asked for round (the shape I already had) and the nail tech Rosa, gave me a different shape on each nail LOL. Some have jagged edges, square corners, diagonals...IT'S BAD BAD! I'm not even picky when it comes to nails, I just want them to look natural and clean but this is not it. I asked her 4 times to properly push and cut my cuticle and lo and behold, all the cuticle is still there. I almost walked out at that point but didn't want to cause a scene or make her feel bad. So I just sat there feeling completely defeated and annoyed that this is costing me $70 incl. tip (yes, 8 still tipped). I won't even show you what my pedicure looks like Such a let down, I wish I could keep coming here but I really cannot justify this kind of experience. read more

This place is immaculate. They really have cleaned and sterilized everything - making it feel much safer to get my nails done during the pandemic. I was excited to try Luna when it opened because it was conveniently located next to a spinning studio I like to take classes at, Spiked Spin. Once I found out it was an Element spa business I was even more excited about my experience. The first time I went my experience was wonderful. It was a spa day for my friend, her mom and myself. We all are Element customers from 5th Avenue to the St. John's location. I didn't catch the name of the girl but I loved my nails. Excited to do the same exact gel manicure I did 3 weeks prior I opted for the exact style. Although the service and communication were a little slow I didn't mind waiting. I believe one of the managers or owners did my nails but I'm not too sure. Within 5 days of having a gel manicure my thumb gel manicure started lifting. THIS NEVET HAPPENS TO ME. My gel manicures usually last 3+wks. I remove them typically because they've outgrown their welcome but they don't lift. By the 7the day half of my thumbnail gel had broken off but my nail was still intact. To put everything in context I did not work out since getting my nails done by coincidence and we use a dishwasher to wash out dishes. Previously I was taking 5-6 classes a week and not one chip in my nail. A few days later other nails were lifting and snagging. I spent $50 on my nails including tip, I don't expect for my gel to be lifting this soon! Then one nail came off after lifting for a few days. After several incidents with these nails i decided to tell someone working there what happened before I ran to my spinning class and she was not interested or willing to rectify the issue. First I was told my nails were weak, but then she touched them and they were still intact and strong. Then she asked if i used a lot of water, I told her i use my dishwasher. Then she said it usually last 2 weeks, this has never been the case for me. Plus all my nails didn't chip on the day I notified her, it was the result of 2wks of chipping. I wasn't looking for them to do all my nails over for free because as a mom of a newborn I just don't have the time which is why I opt for gel. I was simply looking for acknowledgement that my nails should not be in this condition and maybe off a scrub or something my next visit. I will not be going back and neither will my friends. And as I said we've been fans of the Element brand for over 12 years but Luna disappointed me. read more

I decided to switch up the usual and try a new nail salon other than the one that I've loved forever. Then I was told my gel manicure was too complicated of a design and they charged me an extra $40. The "design" was a split nail color. Two colors on one nail. I'll gladly show you more complex designs... On too of that the gel they used didn't even last that long. It took 4 days before it started to chip and fall off my nail. I also got a pedicure and they cut the ends of my nails too short and now I have an infected ingrown toenail thanks to them. The lady who did my nails was wonderful but the manager or possible owner who had to tell me about my $40 up charge was absolutely rude and not inviting at all. Don't go here. It's too expensive and you can find better places that will do a hell of a better job at an affordable price. You'll never find me here again. Salon looks nice but I felt uncomfortable when they started sitting white women next to each other and sent me to the back n last pedicure chair. I noticed that the white women we're getting their nails and feet done simultaneously at the pedicure chair and the service massages of foot n legs were more concentrated with care. While me, I got the fastest pedicure and had to get out of the pedicure chair and walk to the bar table n have my manicure done. Meanwhile I'm the only one sitting at the manicure table alone while the white patrons getting feet and manicures together without having to get up. The lady finished my pedicure and manicure within one hour and 15 minutes. Also gave me a 5 second shoulder massage and pretty much charged me alot of money and sent me on my way. As if to get rid of me quickly. If anyone gets their pedicures n manicures, you know it takes more than an hour. They don't do tips for nails and they don't explain the hidden charges on side. Not quality work. Will never waste my time and money again in that place. read more

This has to be one of my favorite nail salons that I have been too. The place is super clean and it just feels good being there - the decor and the vibe is so chic. I've been twice for a pedicure and once for an underarm waxing and once for a massage. The massage was very good and I loved the pedicure. I got long lasting results the two times I went to get pedicures and it was just a relaxing experience (I did update to one of the special pedicures). I love that this place is right down the street from me and I will continue to go until I move elsewhere. read more

They are VERY clean which is so important. Temperature is taken at the door. They also respect your time and are very nice. I just think for a place that focuses on just polishing, the work could be a lot better. Otherwise, it's good. They also won't charge you extra for polish removal. read more
