I made an appointment for a gel manicure. The receptionist asked me for a credit card number to have on file. She said my card would not be charged. I arrived for my appointment and things went smoothly although the manicurist barely uttered a word to me. That's ok. As I checked out I was told there would be an additional charge of $10 to remove the old gel. That's the first I heard of that. I don't think it's fair to spring that on a client after the fact. I was asked if I wanted to charge the services but I opted to pay cash instead. I was assured I'd receive a statement via email. Fast forward to the next day and I see a charge on my credit card. I called and explained I paid cash and I was assured the charge would be credited and should show in a few days. I asked again for my statement to be emailed and confirmed my email address. To date I've received the credit to my credit card but if I hadn't noticed the charge would they have automatically credited my account? I was assured my card would not be charged, so why did they charge any services to it? To date I haven't received the emailed statement I was assured I'd receive. It's been over 3 weeks. The manicure was fine. The salon is beautiful. People were friendly and professional but sadly it did not go as I expected as far as payment. read more

It's been months but I tried Luna once when we recently moved from Queens during the summer. I enjoyed their services but the only reason I will never go back is because I was told my children are not allowed next time . I am a mother with no family here in this state to watch my kids and I will never leave my children with strangers. She suggested I take the last appointment of the day next time which would never work for me. There are plenty of places that do not treat you this way . I wish them the best, it's a beautiful spot, but what a turn off. read more

Definitely will never come here. I booked close to $100 of services in advance. I accidentally went to one of the neighboring salons on 7th street (by the time I realized I was at the wrong place it was too late to leave). I contacted Luna to let them know I made a mistake and asked if I could please reschedule my services. Instead, they charged me a 40% cancelation fee. As a new customer who made a mistake, you should have waived the cancelation fee. There are nail salons on every block in this neighborhood - no way I am coming to this salon after this, or telling anyone to come here either. read more

TERRIBE EXPERIENCE! This was the last time and the very last time I step a foot in this place. This is now my third time going to lunas to get my nails done. All the times I have gone I had to bring my six-month year old. I do not have anyone to watch my child and my husband works six days a week. After my husband was done with work, he came to the nail place to pick up my son. As I was checking out the owner mentioned to me that I am no longer allowed to bring my child. I totally get it the environment is very quiet and people go to relax. But as I said I do not have family members who can watch my child. If they had a problem with it, they should have told me from the begging the last two times I went before this very last time. The owner said they were going to tell me the last time but, she "forgot". Unfortunately, some people don't have the luxury of having childcare. No child acts "the best" so, if they have a problem with allowing children inside than they should have a sign or, tell me the first time I went in. Definitely would not recommend this place. If those of you who have children, you will understand how upsetting this could be. read more
