My wife and I stopped by Luna Pizzeria for a date night and had a great experience overall. We ordered the veal pasta and the eggplant parmesan, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The portions were generous enough that we had leftovers to take home for the next day, which is always a win. The service was friendly, attentive, and relatively fast. Our drinks stayed full, and the staff did a great job making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that we were seated next to a very large and extremely loud party. While that's certainly not the restaurant's fault, it did take away from the date-night atmosphere we were hoping for. I went to Luna's today wanting one of the delicious calzone. I was so disappointed I could not even force myself to eat it. I did take one bite and that's all it took. It was the special calzone it looked like they ground all the ingredients together then placed it into the calzone, it looked like dog food inside, it was soggy it didn't even have the sauce on it yet. I'm telling you it's not the Luna's I remember, the Lunas I know was delicious Italian food, the eggplant parm and the calzones were delicious but not anymore. I unfortunately cannot recommend Luna Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant for hosting an event. We booked our wedding rehearsal dinner there months in advance and paid a $250 deposit in October to secure a February date. Because it was tied to our wedding, we intentionally planned everything early to avoid last minute stress. About a week before the wedding, I received a call from the restaurant asking if we were still planning to have our event. That was extremely stressful to hear so close to the wedding, especially since we had already secured the reservation and paid the deposit months earlier. During that same call, they also told us they had no record of the $250 deposit that had been paid. My then-fiancé's mom had called in and paid that deposit back in October, so hearing that a week before the wedding was incredibly frustrating. The explanation given was that a new owner had taken over and there had been confusion transferring deposits from the old records to the new system. Regardless of the reason, calling a customer a week before their wedding to ask if their event is still happening and saying there is no record of the deposit felt very unprofessional. That should have been fully investigated internally before reaching out to us. We ended up going to the restaurant in person that same night because we were not comfortable waiting until the next day or the week of the wedding to figure out where we would be hosting our out of town family and guests. One of the long time managers spoke with us. Our first interaction was, to be honest, uncomfortable, because the restaurant was very busy and he was extremely rude, but he later came back to apologize for coming across as rude and let us know that he had located the deposit. He also told us he would have honored the deposit even if he could not find it, which had not been communicated to us during the phone call earlier. Unfortunately, the issues continued the night of the rehearsal dinner. The package we booked included a predetermined menu that we had already selected in advance. We told them our party would arrive between 7:00 and 7:30 and we arrived around 7:15 to 7:20. Despite this, the service was extremely slow. The drinks were slow, the salads were slow, and while the server herself was nice enough, we did not receive our main food until at least 8:15 p.m. People were tired and hungry, and we had a very early morning the next day for the wedding. It honestly felt like we were sitting there waiting for our food the same way a regular table would, as if everything had to be made individually after we ordered. For a planned private event with a preset menu, especially after the earlier confusion, the restaurant should have been prepared. Our pizzas and rigatoni should have been ready for our group shortly after we arrived. In addition to the service issues, the banquet room itself is not in great condition. Several of the chairs felt wobbly and worn out, and the lighting is extremely bright. For a nighttime rehearsal dinner the room felt more like fluorescent department store lighting, and there was no option to dim the lights when I asked. Overall, this was not a good experience. Between the disorganization leading up to the event and the slow service the night of, I would not recommend this restaurant for hosting a group event, especially an evening event. read more

I was standing right at the front counter picking an order waiting for a bit watching servers go by, a sever made eye contact and walked back to a staging area. A white older man walks up next to me and waited all of 2min and gets served by the l server who made eye contact, she walked by me a few times. She walked away to work on getting his stuff then another server walks by totally ignored me and asked him if he had been helped yet, I was totally standing right next to him. I wouldn't say it's like the best Italian food ever but I've never had something I didn't like, it's consistently good and I appreciate that. Highly recommend the pink sauce on literally anything it's so delish. Service has been great! I think they're under new ownership now? Maybe they have been for a while but I just heard that recently. I have been coming to Luna's for 30 years. Through every chapter of my life, Chicken Parm and ziti was my constant. The matriarch ran this place with pride and it showed in every bite. Since she passed and her son stepped away, something fundamental broke. What is left is a ghost of what it once was, and not a faint one -- an actively deteriorating one. The food told the whole story. My beloved Chicken Parm arrived pale, pasty, and overcooked, sitting in a sauce so thin and flat it had clearly been made with inferior ingredients and zero care. The ziti was no better. Thirty years of muscle memory telling me this would be great, and plate after plate proved otherwise. Our waitress was kind, but when she noticed we had barely touched our food and declined a box, her body language said everything words did not need to. All night long, the front door slammed shut with a jarring bang every time someone entered or left, a faulty actuator that nobody had bothered to fix. Startling, distracting, relentless. And through it all, the owner or manager wandered the dining room conducting loud speakerphone conversations as though the guests around him were furniture. Luna's has not simply declined. It has collapsed, and nobody left in charge seems to notice or care. read more

We ordered the Combination - Spaghetti, Lasagna and Ravioli- decided for fresh pasta, which is also served with a salad to be shared between the two of us. WOW, the portions are generous. The salad bowl was full, the leafy greens was a nice, and the main combination plate was packed full of delicious pasta and red sauce-- so flavorful. We've had Lunas cater a couple of small events in the past and I've always thought it was pretty good. Prior to this evening, it had been awhile since we've had it. We ordered through DoorDash. Everything was excellent. My son, who isn't a big pasta fan because he doesn't like sauce, wanted to try the shrimp pasta. I requested light sauce. It arrived with the perfect amount of sauce and he loved his dish. We also had the combo dinner with ravioli and Berts Special. This place has sadly gone downhill. Been coming here for years because we live down the street but yesterday was the last time we will order out from them. I'm not sure what they were thinking when they disgustingly dumped excessive amounts of pesto oil all over my husband's lasagna. They use to separate it from the lasagna when we did half/half but apparently they are getting stingy with the take out containers. Completely ruined the lasagna as it was soaked in oil. Also my eggplant was flavorless and pretty skimped on in terms of cheese/meat sauce. Did not used to be that way. The server was very nice. However, the food was bland and undercooked. My first and last time coming, which is sad because I heard this place used to be really good. The chicken is obviously frozen. It was rubbery and just a terrible, undercooked mess. The Alfredo sauce was very bland. Not even adding Parmesan, pepper, salt, and crushed pepper helped. The bread also tasted like dirty tap water. Friday nights are now our time to visit Luna's as a family and truly all be satisfied! You can't beat the price for a kid's meal, and for a tiny bit more, they can even add a small sundae! Soon after you are seated, the delicious bread and butter arrive, and yes, they will keep refilling it. It feels as if you are in a restaurant from the 80's, very basic wood tables, simple decor, info of the business, and they even have their own pressed penny machine inside. Some of the items we enjoyed on our most recent visit were the Angel Hair Speciale, and a pizza with bbq sauce, pineapple, tomatoes, and mushrooms. It can get quite a bit noisy in the restaurant, and service does tend to take a bit longer when busy. Those are the only reasons that fifth star isn't there. Okay so the person with me liked their pizza. I first made a mistake by forgetting to get white sauce on my pizza. I'm picky about red sauce and this place has more of a deep red sauce. Heavy. I like a lighter sauce. I got bell peppers, onions, pepperoni and bacon please tell me why the toppings were raw and my pizza was barely warm? They also had red, yellow, orange bell peppers which I love but not as much as a green on a pizza. The server seemed so upset we showed up because the place was empty. He seemed irritated to have us and we kept seeing him just standing around which is fine when there is nothing to do I guess but we had to ask for more water. The place was clean, I hate Italian decor so I guess it was nice for that. Would I come back? I don't know. It's for sure not on the top of my list. read more

We stopped in for dinner on a hot night. We were quickly seated in the cool, dim dining room. The place was reasonably busy, clean and welcoming. This is where I point out that I o8ve life with a service dog and this place gets 4 paws up. No access issues, the tables have plenty of room under them and the floors are clean. Our server Sarah greeted us and took our drink orders while we perused the menu. My brother has been bragging about the tri color tortellini so, I had to try it and the Mr. Is always on the lookout for the best calazone. Our bread came out and surprise! The butter wasn't frozen rock hard!! Awesome! The bread was nice while we waited for our salads. They came out and were quite significant foe being sides. Very nice. We like that there aren't a lot of extra toppings.. just lettuce and some croutons. We both got ranch dressing and they have the good stuff. My only issue with tye salad is that some of the pieces are quite large. But nothing my knife can't handle. The food came out after a short wait. The calazone was enrobed with a nice thick meat sauce. The Mr was overjoyed because he hates dry anything Italian lol. My pasta held all the promise of rich decadence. And boy did it deliver. It was rich and balanced. I had to pack up some to bring home for tomorrow's lunch. On the whole, the food was amazing, the ambiance relaxing and the service top notch. We had a party of 11 people for my grandkids birthday I had the Rigatoni and meatballs the Rigatoni was good BUT the meatballs definitely didn't taste like meat! No flavor or texture but more like sawdust! And even though we were charged a 18% gratuity we sure as hell didn't get service that warranted an 18% tip! Never once did they offer to refill my drink & I even asked once but was told they would be right back but I never saw them again! The waiter only came out to take orders then to bring us the bill! We've been eating at Luna's for over 20 years and until recently considered it to be the best pizza and pasta restaurant in town. We always used to say we have never had a bad meal there. However, since the change in ownership, we have seen a marked change in the quality of the food, most noticeably in the pizzas. While the pizzas used to include generous quantities of toppings, the more recent offerings are almost laughably skimpy with the toppings. And don't get me started on their pricing. Since the pandemic it seems that their prices have undergone multiple, regular increases, particularly with respect to the pasta dishes. Whereas Luna's previously offered a special featuring two complete dinners with soup or salad and bread for $15.00, their current "special" for the same meals is now $28.00. Everyone understands how inflation effects prices, but there's is a difference between "inflation" pricing and outright price gouging. Seriously, $19.95 for spaghetti and meatballs? An extra $5.00 for a two-topping medium pizza over the price of the same size cheese pizza, when they skimp on the toppings to the extent it is essentially just a cheese pizza anyway? As much as it pains me to say it, Luna's is pretty much dead to me and my family. Sleep with the fishes; we will not be back. read more

Luna's Pizzeria had a very old world feel. The decor was a bit dated and the lighting was a little too low for my taste but the place was clean. The service was good but the thing that set it apart were the portions. Huge! The Linguine with Clams and Shrimp had good flavor as did the Eggplant Speciale. My kids had the pepperoni pizza and the spaghetti with meatballs. Everything tasted good, nothing out of the ordinary. The portions were quite large, you definitely get your moneys worth. We arrived for an early dinner but by the time we left there was quite a large number of people waiting to be seated. Did not get our order till 5:40 PM, no apologies, no one checked in during the additional 25 min wait. Overall unacceptable and will not be going back.
