If you want something that feels a little more elevated, The Annex Kitchen is such a good spot for a Date Night, or a Girls Night! The food here is definitely high quality, and you can really tell they put thought into everything. It's the sister restaurant to Annesso Pizzeria, so they also serve pizza, and it is SO good. I highly recommend the pepperoni jalapeño with a honey drizzle, such a perfect sweet and spicy combo. The parm fries are honestly the best I've had, and I also tried a chicken entrée that was cooked perfectly and super flavorful. Service is great, especially considering it's a smaller restaurant, the servers are really attentive and make the experience feel more personal. The bar area is also really nice and they serve good, strong drinks. They have a great wine list as well! It breaks my heart to not give this place a 5 star review every time I've been here it's been amazing. However, I learned my lesson to ONLY buy pasta here. Decided to switch it up and buy the ribeye. I just assumed because it was pricy and because I LOVE the pasta that this would be delicious. Breh, it was so.... Weird. The ribeye I had cooked to medium rare. Maybe it was cooked more because it was thin? But also the rub was kind of sweet. Maybe it said that in the menu? But I honestly just saw ribeye and ordered it. I didn't bother to ask what rub or seasonings by they used. It is probably the worst ribeye I've had that I can remember. I've cooked better ribeyes from Costco. Now the muscles were amazing. A 5/5. I ate that whole appy plate. That would taste amazing over pasta. So, if you go here, do not order the ribeye or any kind of meat. They specialize in pasta and pizza and I would stick to that. Right before we were about to leave, the front staff offered to sit us at a table reserved for 8:00 p.m. if we were able to finish dinner before that reserved slot. We definitely took the table! Ordered the homemade lasagna, which is only available on Wednesdays (at least that's what was mentioned by staff; menu changes daily). It was probably the best lasagna I've had. Would definitely order it again! The restaurant also has an vegan menu if you have someone in your party that is vegan. The restaurant ambiance is lively (it may be difficult to hear if you're trying to have a conversation) and the decor is really nice. Overall, I would love to visit again. The quality of the food is good and the flavors are definitely unique. I love the dark rustic look that this place has to offer. It does feel small and it will get loud which makes the environment kind of stuffy at times. I wouldn't say that this is the best, but more of a been there done that. The place was lively, definitely seems like a go-to spot for many. We ordered the pepperoni and carbonara pizzas, fusilli and bucatini pastas, and a medium ribeye. There is signage in the parking lot tho and parking can be hard to find. Ambience is dark but noisy so if you're on a date, it'll be hard to hear. Service was very attentive. Took a lil convincing to get them from ordering the ribeye but they were so happy they ventured out. We arrived at 6:45pm - the dining room was packed and the bar was full. It was loud - probably the only hiccup in an otherwise delightful and delicious evening. Wish I'd hadn't been so distracted by the food - forgot to take photos. All of the staff was smiling and cordial. Our server, Nick, has worked at Annex since it opened. Although, I think he said he's taken some time away. The busperson, Miguel, was so friendly and accommodating - we thanked him again and again. We shared the Arugula salad with radicchio, shaved parmigiano, and lemon vinaigrette. It was absolutely perfect. And then a handcrafted house pizza - SPICY SOPPRESSATA , mozzarella, fontina, gorgonzola, red onion, and calabrian honey was outstanding. There were only crumbs left behind. I wish we'd had room for dessert - the ricotta donuts sounded divine. Next time. We enjoyed conversations with the 4-top sitting next to us. Obvioiusly locals and very much regulars at the Annex. It is nice inside and the people are friendly, so there's that. We ordered the Arancini for an hors d'oeuvre and it was pretty tasty, but a few of them were cold in the middle. When I told the waiter this, he just responded that he would tell the chef. I expect more from a restaurant like this. We then ordered the braised, short rib and the Tagliolini. They were both fine, but not incredible. And they did not even bring me bread until I asked. I have now been there twice, and I've come to the same conclusion both times. I'm done. read more

The Annex has long been a favorite dinning establishment of ours. Up until this evening, we had only dined in the main dining room but tonight we decided to sit at the pizza counter. Best decision we could have made. It was an overall pleasant experience to see everyone in action. Our server Tina was very pleasant in her demeanor. Very attentive & very personable. She took care of us nicely. we appreciated her attentiveness & service. We also got an opportunity to meet Mario & the crew behind the pizza counter. Mario was also very personable and was gracious enough to chit chat with us as we waited for our meal. Over the course of our evening, he'd pop in periodically & check in on us as well. It was really nice to feel as if we were the center of attention. The food is always great at the Annex!! The extra little touches, the little extra attentiveness, the pleasant conversation over dinner while quarterbacking the whole flow of tickets coming in & pizza & plates going out...it all made for a great middle of the week dinner out on the town!!
