Great comfort food like burgers and omelettes and the staff is wonderful. They make a great ranch dressing from scratch too.

This restaurant is located within the local airport. So you get amazing views of aircraft land and taking off from the runway. Great entertainment for everyone, especially kiddos. From the moment you arrive, the staff are friendly and attentive. If you become a regular, the servers remember what specials you gravitate to, which only adds to its charm. Food is always consistent and I have yet to be disappointed. Whether having breakfast or lunch, it's always great! When available, I splurge for the steak and eggs special. Steak is thick, char grilled and cooked to your desired temp. The country potatoes are always crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, seasoned well. Adding bell peppers and onions adds to the experience. Eggs always cooked perfectly and toast soft yet crisp with plenty of butter. Highly recommend. The breakfast bowl is my wife's go to. A little bit of everything. Crispy country potatoes, sweet grilled onions, bell peppers, bite size sausage, bacon and plenty of cheddar cheese. Then topped with eggs cooked to your liking. I wish I could keep this place to myself but I can't. If you're ever in Porterville, give this place a try. You won't regret it.

We visited on a Saturday morning and had to wait outside for about 10 minutes before a table opened up, which honestly made sense once we saw how busy the place was. The food ended up being exactly what I wanted before a long day of hiking. I ordered the Breakfast Bowl, which came with a half order of biscuits and gravy, one egg, and two sausage links. The portion was perfect for me since I don't like a huge breakfast, but it was still really filling and tasted great. The service was excellent. Our server was super kind and friendly to me and my friends, and the whole experience felt very welcoming. It had that small-town breakfast spot vibe where it feels like all the locals come to start their day, and even as visitors we felt right at home. The ambiance really adds to the charm. The dining area is a medium-sized room packed with as many tables and chairs as it can fit, and every seat was filled. It felt lively in the best way and showed how popular the place is. The restaurant is also located at a small airport, which makes the setting outside pretty cool and unique. Overall, the food and atmosphere were perfect for a breakfast stop. That one meal kept me fueled through our visit to Sequoia including an 8-mile hike, which honestly surprised me. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again.

Onion rings are fresh and the sweet taste linger within your mouth, but it's a bit greasy. Service: the staff is sweet and nice. One thing bothers us is that he check is handwritten and when we pay with credit card the amount didn't add up. They didn't mention any credit card fees which is weird. Ambiance: we searched online and found this place and the moment we arrived we understood why it's called "The Runway" as it is literally located next to an airplane runway and the interiors are amazing! Very detailed decor including the lights!

After driving in to town from Los Angeles, I told my husband I wanted to grab a couple of coffees before going to his office, but I wanted to support a small shop instead of going in the the grocery store where they have a coffee chain kiosk inside. I believe in supporting small business! We had tried to visit Old Isabella Coffee twice before, but it was later in the afternoon and they were closed. I decided to give them a pass and try again since it's earlier. But today, we arrived before 1pm and parked. I went up the stairs to their entry door and it seemed very dark inside. The door was locked, and only then did I realize the blinds were closed. I checked the posted hours and they close at 1pm daily, but apparently they closed early on this day. A Friday, in a town that often leans on "weekenders" for increased business volume. While looking for the posted hours I saw the very friendly sign which shows a revolver pointing forward so you can look down the barrel of the gun and they proudly announce that there's nothing inside worth dying for. How warm and inviting! Well I, for one, was really looking forward to an amazing coffee beverage "to die for".. but now I know this won't be my place locally. I've tried 3 times and found myself alone at their place of business. In retrospect, the 3 ladies at the Starbucks inside the Vons store had a LINE of people waiting to buy coffee, snacks and lunch. As I joined the line, I casually said "I guess this is the place for great coffees in town!" and two of the guys in line said "they're reliably open, the service is great and have decent hours during the day". They were wearing yellow vests, maybe guys working on the street improvements or employees from SCE? If i owned a small business in a small town, i would definitely be pandering to just this type of customer. Extend operating hours, offer discounts to these contractors to bring them in daily! The guys said they're at Starbucks more than once a day, every day. That's a lot of opportunity lost to the little, local guy. So while I'm not usually a Starbucks person, when in KRV apparently they will be my go-to from now on. I tried to support local, but wasn't getting the support in return.
