This place is amazing! We're here to celebrate our nieces' graduation from VCU, and we had a reservation. The lighting, the different dining areas, the herb garden, the great layout, huge BBQ pit, and the amazing food menu--wow, there's so much to say, but for now, come on over! I wish we had a spot like this in VB. What a vibe!!

I came here on a Saturday around noon with a friend. We had to wait about 15 minutes. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait. We sat at a high top table in the back, which was nice because it was away from all the noise. There's a lot of large groups and families so it's very loud inside. The outdoor space might have been a bit less loud. I got the spicy bloody Mary, which was made mildly spicy per my request, it was super delicious. I ordered the biscuits with gravy, sausage, eggs & cheese and as you can see the portion was ginormous. I finished most of it, but was not hungry the rest of the day. I wish I came with a bigger group so we could've ordered appetizers. The pimento cheese sounded delicious.

    Supper in Richmond

This place was very inviting and they validate parking in a busy part of Richmond. My son and I were driving to Fredricksburg for his soccer tournament and the reviews and menu caught me . The boy eats more cereal than any kid alive so he was in heaven when he found out they serve breakfast all the times. He went with ale carte eggs, pork sausage, breakfast potatoes and short stack pancakes. I went a different way with braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and Parmesan brussel sprouts. So looking forward to this meal after a long drive from Charlotte..... Bridgett was right.... The braised short ribs with mash and bacon Parmesan brussel sprouts were outstanding. The meat was so tender I could cut it with a spoon. The brussel sprouts lightly sautéed and tasted great with the mashed and short ribs. My son loved his breakfast for dinner. He devoured his scrambled eggs potatoes and pork sausage and pancakes. He gave me half a pancake so I could use it to soak up my gravy after finishing my meal. Bridgette was a very hospitable server and help us choose our meals with her suggestions. The porch was relaxing and enjoyable. The doctor was unique. My favorite is the eagle head (See photo). I highly recommend Lunch. Supper to locals and visitors alike if you are hungry or just looking for a fun place to grab a drink with breakfast!

I don't think I've ever had a bad time whenever coming here. One of my bestie were out doing a long walk around the city and decided to come here for brunch. The food was just as good as I first time came here. I got their gravy & biscuit (aka Trainwreck) and my friend got their healthy wrap. We also got a bottle of champagne to do our version of mimosas - haha. I don't know if it's showing, but I guess it showed their trainwreck from several years ago vs to 2025 - from the photos that I'm seeing. Anyways, staff was friendly and the place is clean and it's not too crazy loud. I can't say much about parking since we were walking around, but be sure to know parallel parking and that you're in a construction zone...it's definitely a rapid growing location.

Lunch. Supper! is always one of my favorite go-to spots for brunch in Richmond! The service is always fantastic and the food is always delicious! I highly recommend trying the Chicken and Waffles for a classic brunch option! I recently went and ordered the Soft Shell Crab Eggs Benedict, which was incredible! My biggest advice: get there early to avoid the long wait times on the weekends!

Phenomenal experience. All the food is made with quality local ingredients that you can tell come in fresh every day. Every dish has its own spin to it, and you'll definitely get something fantastic that you've never had. The service was very friendly and they go out of their way to give you the best experience possible. You need to check it out any time you're in downtown Richmond!

Vibe: 7.75/10 Service: 7.5/10 - the service is good, but there is generally confusion about the difference between the Lunch! and Supper! restaurants. We waited for a table at Lunch! but realized we had meant to be at Supper! when we got to our table and looked over the menu Value: 7.25/10 Pork rind nachos: 8/10 The Greek omelette (egg whites) w/ breakfast potatoes: 9.25/10 - I love this dish!! Supper! Cubano: 8/10 Overall: 7.96/10 (3.98/5) [To clarify our review system: 10 = we'll never have anything else as good as this in our lives (we use 10 very sparingly!) 9 = extraordinary 8 = great 7 = above average 6 = average Anything below 6 is being critical]

This review is specifically pertaining to the supper portion of the restaurant. We placed our names on a waitlist and were seated about 30-40 minutes after in the covered outdoor area that was greenhouse style - lovely area! The food was delicious and our waitress was friendly. Their fried chicken is mouthwatering and flavorful. The Mac and cheese is also a standout and very good. Portions are generous. I loved that the menu had a huge amount of variety so there is truly something for everyone there. I think the only improvement I would offer is some more clarity on the different parts of the restaurant - it seems one portion has a limited menu and the other (where we ate) is more extensive. I didn't realize that it was two separate places (though right next to each other) and only learned this upon arrival. There are certain things not on the menu on each so it's worth knowing this before you go!

Lunch. Supper! in Scott's Addition reads like a small space with a faint dive-bar feel, which is an odd fit among the sleeker spots nearby. We were seated at a high-top and, despite being two of the only guests, were largely ignored by service. Breakfast was uneven. The potatoes were nicely done and the omelet was reasonably moist, if shy on flavor. The corned beef hash missed the mark: dry meat, not much seasoning, and the components never really integrated. The sunny-side-up egg on top was cooked competently, but it could not carry the otherwise middling dish alone. Plates took longer than expected to arrive and, once they did, tasted like something you might find at a greasy spoon for significantly less money. Nothing was terrible, but nothing tempted us back either.

Really good food, really cute, and good service. Be aware that there is always a super long wait for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. So plan to put your name in, go for a little stroll, get a coffee nearby at roastology, and then come back. Because the wait was over an hour because they're so packed. Worth it tho

A friend and I came for brunch this past weekend. We were both excited to try this restaurant as we'd heard lots of good things. Parking was a little tricky, but we were able to find a spot not too far away. I didn't realize that the restaurant was separated into two parts-as you enter, you go right for lunch and left for dinner. It was a really cute place. We sat outside and were able to enjoy the music coming from the "dinner" yard. I opted for the Sauer's Garden omelet with a side of cheesy grits. My friend got the avocado toast. She got a mimosa and I got a bloody mary. I really enjoyed the omelet and the cheesy grits tasted good (like a hearty mac and cheese), but the grits were undercooked and a bit crunchy. My friend also liked her avocado toast. The drinks were yummy as well. I'm glad I finally made it here and would definitely consider it the next time I'm in Scotts Addition.

Supper is probably one of the rare spots in Richmond where the food is consistently on point. I've never ordered a dish that had to go back. It's always hot. It's always well-seasoned. And it always hits. The chicken and oysters are perfectly fried nice and crunchy every time. The drinks are balanced and done right. No guessing. No surprises. Just solid execution. It's one of those places you go when you want good food and you don't feel like taking a risk. When you have a favorite dish, you know it's going to taste the same the first time, the tenth time, and every time after that. Consistency matters and Supper delivers.

The Summit Omelet Train Wreck One of the "specials" poutine with chorizo sausage and queso
    Rita R.

On Sundays we brunch!! I've driven by Lunch.Supper quite a few times and have always been intrigued, the outside of the restaurant is very unique and when we went in the atmosphere was even more cool! There's an outside bbq smoker, an outside bar area(maybe used during the summer?) and games to play. Theres also covered seating but we went in and sat at the tall tables. We came in for Sunday brunch and I thought it would be crowded but it wasn't at all, our server was super attentive and very lively! Amazing customer service for sure, we started with mimosas and shared their latest special which was a poutine with chorizo and queso, absolutely delicious. You gotta try it if it's still available! I ordered the summit omelette, which was sausage, cheese and veggies with a side of cheese grits, and my friend had the Trainwreck. I enjoyed everything honestly but my friend said the biscuits on the Trainwreck were dry and the cheese grits tasted weird. Personally I have no complaints, I will for sure be back, the pricing was reasonable and the vibe was 10/10!

Because it has that old school I know this food is going to be FIRE, it's Perfect. Soooooo, the music certainly fits this cool old school vibe. The menu was under a very clean glass table topper to view and order. Very big Plus, Sanitary !!!!! I ordered the Fried Chicken (2pcs white), corn muffin comes with the meal, candied yams and cabbage. My plate was BEAUTIFUL, pictures will confirm. The chicken was golden brown, crispy on outside, flavorful and moist on the inside. YES, like my mom's use to be. The yams were perfectly sweet and the caaaabage was delicious. Go early to avoid the crowds, because everyone wants this good food and hospitality. Ooooh Lord, I forgot our extremely attentive server Dana. He checked in while being super busy with other customers, making sure the glasses were refilled in a timely manner. He also offered to go drinks, and very nice to go containers. This review is long because it's accurate and I need to share my experience. Last but not least, the owner came by and asked how was everything with her warm, down home hospitality. She also ask that we visit next door, Mama J's Market, so we did. It was sooo cool. I felt like I was in Greenwich Village NYC. If the restaurant is too busy for you, there in the market you can order from the kiosk and a staff member will bring it to you. There are refrigerated food and meal options to grab and go. Someone suggested a place called Mama J's but after reading the summary of reviews I decided to see if there was another place. And I came across Southern Kitchen and boy was I glad that I did!! This black owned restaurant was an excellent experience for hubby and I!!! But let me back up,,.when searching for another spot online...the visual esthetics of the menu caught my attention first!! I saw a crisp clean menu in white, green and black. It was easy to read, had everything laid out and dunno...maybe it appealed to my OCD with how organized it was but I liked it! And then the FOOD on the menu I told hubby..."no debate! We are going to Southern Kitchen"!! When we arrived we pulled up at a mall...at first we thought we were at the wrong place but when we turned the corner and saw the black and white awning...I said THERE IT IS!!! Lol!! We walked in and my heart said aaaaahhhhhhh!!!' it was beautifully decorated in...you guessed it black, white and green!! It matched the online menu....so cool!! The staff was courteous! The food was exceptional! And the music was SUCH a vibe!!! They have a bar area with high top tables, they have a dining area with tables and booths. They can accommodate small and large parties. They have a HUGE kitchen and they are very well staffed so our food didn't take long to get to us. Hubby ordered meatloaf, Mac n cheese, cabbage and sweet potatoes. I ordered salmon patties, collard greens and black eyed peas. Our server Nigela was so sweet! She took very good care of us and even chatted with us and told us that her grandmother was from SC (where we are from) I would definitely recommend this spot! Food was 10 out of 10! The sweet tea was that good "diabetical" tea and we got a cornbread basket...the portions were enough for me to take half of my plate with me because I was FULL!' Whenever I'm in Richmond again ...I will be back!! P.S. they have gluten free options but I was bad today...

BRING YOUR WALLETS AND STRETCHY PANTS!…read more We went as a corporate outing group of 5. The front door is a little tight cause as a popular spot there's a bunch of foot traffic. The lady at the front door was a bit staticky but she got us sat fairly quickly so we could deal with that. Vibes are all wooden, but not creaky. Could be a cool date spot, it was very casual so we were able to be a bit boisterous. Good place to chat and blend in. Service was great and friendly and attentive. The waitress we had always made sure our cups were full and we had napkins and what we needed. We didn't get any alcohol, I got an Arnold Palmer, the wife got a midtown. They were both pretty good, I don't know what the difference was but they slapped. Free refills on sweet tea was dope too! The food came out pretty fast for the portions and quality. The wings are a must get, get the large and if you don't finish air fry them back home (reheat is good) (I would get sauce on the side, we did buffalo). We got like a desert style cornbread with syrup and powdered sugar, not normally my jams but totally delicious (my coworker ordered, I am not into sweets; still 10/10). I had 2 buffalo shrimp and they were also good, I didn't get a flick but that's a safe pick. The mains are pricey (typical soul food prices) but fire!!! Portions were good but the quality of goods and meat are awesome. I eat at a lot of places, the quality was really high here so I think the price tag was fair. My wife got the catfish, I got the stuffed salmon. For our sides we got the greens, cabbage, and the Mac & cheese. I had a couple of things I personally like that I feel would have enhanced the meal but the overall outlook is that this is the place to go. The greens were salty as heck and didn't have like a turkey neck or smoked anything in it, could be a regional preference but that was missing for me. The cabbage was also cooked really well and didn't require much but had no sparkle. Great texture but the flavor wasn't there, I'm also Caribbean so maybe what I like is different, the crunch with a kick would have gone far and maybe some salt from the greens in there. The Mac and cheese was good, I like a creamier one but this will suffice tbh. Overall I'm going to give them a 8.9/10. I could have gotten the wrong things or went on an off day but they certainly delivered and the service was GREAT. I would deff revisit, it's got a lot of charm and personality. The staff were amicable and the bathrooms were clean. I would recommend this spot if you're visiting Richmond!

You'll be tempted to order an appetizer. I observed the portions and decided I couldn't eat all that... in a week. Definitely getting the fried oysters next time though. The "Fish Boat" comes with 2, 3 or 4 pieces of whiting. It's fried and the onion and pepper "sauce" is a mustardy, vinegar concoction that compliments the fish perfectly. You have your choice of two sides. Typical southern specialties. Collard greens (no pork added) were delicious, with a little kick; Candied Yams and a BRICK OF CORNBREAD. Light, soft sweet cornbread... my goodness. I don't think I can do this food the proper justice it deserves in this review. The chicken strips; the Alfredo were just as good. Even their version of an Arnold Palmer, (The Uptown) was done right. It's worth the drive and definitely worth the calories. We landed on The Roosevelt, and I can confidently say it was one of the best meals I've had in Richmond. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, but we managed to snag two seats at the bar. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly and welcoming maître d', setting the tone for the evening. The bartenders were equally impressive eith one a true Chatty Cathy, the other more reserved, but both were masters of their craft, creating unique and distinctive cocktails with ease. We started with the cornbread and maple butter syrup. My only complaint? Can a girl get a little more butter? The cornbread itself was dense, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Next came a small plate of squash served over sweet potato hummus. This dish completely surprised me. The flavor profile reminded me of Haitian cuisine, meaning it was warm, layered, slightly sweet, and carrying just enough heat to keep things interesting. It was creative, distinctive, and honestly one of the highlights of the meal. For our entrées, Jackie chose the steelhead trout while I opted for the scallops served pescatarian-style with ramp clam chowder. Let me tell you something: this was the first time in my life that I genuinely enjoyed clam chowder. The scallops were perfectly prepared, and the chowder elevated the entire dish. Every bite was exceptional. Of course, we couldn't leave without dessert. We shared the chocolate chess pie, and it was everything you want in a chocolate dessert, a dense, fudgy, rich, and utterly decadent. It was so good that I went home, climbed into bed, and happily surrendered to a food coma. What stood out most was that The Roosevelt delivered on every level: hospitality, atmosphere, creativity, and execution. The meal was worth every dime, and I will absolutely be bringing visiting friends and family here in the future. For anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience in Richmond, The Roosevelt has earned a permanent spot on my recommendation list.

Each & every dish was a culinary creative canvas that enticed, tantalized & totally enthralled our palates. For my cocktail I ordered The Seersucker, which was made with my favorite bourbon Four Roses. The drink was velvety smooth & a soothing complement to my food. As our appetizers we ordered Cornbread, the BBQ Spiced Chicken Wings & the Chicken Fried Pig Ears. Everything was absolutely delightful. The pig ears were an especially nice surprise as they were melt in your mouth tender & full of flavor. There was a horseradish sauce accompanying the pig ears & the sauce was creamy & not overpowering with horseradish flavor[i don't even usually like horseradish but this dish truly gave me a new experience of that flavor]. I would definitely order the pig ears again. The Cornbread was cute & tasted like cornbread I grew up in the Country eating. I could eat a whole skillet of the cornbread. The chicken wings were tender & nicely seasoned. I really enjoyed the white BBQ that was drizzled over them. As our Entrees, we ordered 2 Catfish & 1 Flounder Catch of the Day. Both dishes were delicious. The fish was not overly seasoned, as I so often encountered with seafood dishes, both dishes allowed the diner to actually taste the depth & simplicity of the fish. Both dishes are also items I would order again. Our server was courteous, attentive & knowledgeable concerning menu item choices. When it was time for us to leave, as I think we stayed way past the dining allotment time, the hostess was very respectful in explaining to our table there was a reservation behind us. I appreciate that type of honesty & treatment in a dining facility. As mentioned so many times previously I will be returning to The Roosevelt. They have definitely made a fan out of me.

I pulled into the parking lot and this place has a unique setup. All the tables are outside similar to checkers. The place looks like it belongs in a dessert or South of the Boarder based on the color which is odd as well. They take your orders at the walk-up window. When I originally arrived, I didn't see much business but while I waited for my food the cars were pouring in left and right. My hopes for the food increased. There is a menu on the outside that is somewhat difficult to read and navigate. A ton of options with some whopping prices. I ended up ordering the 1 Snack and Fries. I wanted something good but also light as I had another place in Richmond I wanted to try. $14.99 seemed good until I saw this bogus, Local meals tax on top of the state sales tax. This caught me off guard. I ended up waiting in my car for about 20 minutes and later heard my name called over the microphone. The gentleman showed me the food, and it was 3 large pieces of fish. The fish was delicious. The fish was Cooked well, and I could taste the flavor. Way more than I expected. Tartar sauce elevated the flavor. The fires were piping hot and good as well. I wish I had some ketchup, but they were still good. I loved that they were salted but if I had high blood pressure I should have stayed away. You can see the salt on the fries. They were good to me. Overall if I were in Richmond again, I'd definitely stop. The food was good. I would definitely try more options. The customer service was good. The cashier and food distributor were on their A game. Outside could use some love and care but it is what it is.

I can't remember the name of the biscuit I had but it had bacon, eggs and gravy, and I got a side of the red potatoes. My boyfriend got the biscuit and gravy and the tomato soup. We also tried the grits tots, which were really good surprisingly. The food was delicious in general. The biscuits were perfect. They were not too dry, It was just right and they were pretty decent size. I love them. No, I got the flight and honestly, I was only a fan of two of the flavors on the flight so our server did replace two of our flight drinks with a flavor that I actually loved so that was awesome. Our server was really nice. I cannot remember her name, but she was very helpful and tentative. The restaurant itself was clean and nice, I did not use the bathroom there so I don't know what the bathroom looks like. I always try to check out the bathroom of a restaurant to give you guys an update on that but I did not this time so I'll do better next time. I would definitely come back.
