Yikes! Met some friends here for a late brunch on recommendation. They serve breakfast until 3. The Daily is a good sized establishment, and we were immediately sat. I like the individual, ungendered restrooms, but that's about it. My boyfriend and I started with a shared everything bagel. It was burnt to a crisp, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was intentionally charred. Loaded with onion and capers. My breakfast of choice was the lump crab benedict. With the time I waited for my food, I wasn't going to send it back, but it was inedible. Dry english muffin (maybe stale), and fully cooked yolks in all of the "poached" eggs. I ate the little crab on it and left the rest. A $150 bill for four people and mediocre food. I'm unhappy and recommend people visit elsewhere. There looked to be plenty of restaurants in the area.

Visiting Richmond for the Half Marathon this weekend. Stopped by The Daily on Cary St. Funny enough, I lived here for a couple years in my 20s and this place was only about a 40-minute walk from me--no idea how I never came before. The host/server was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Broccolini to start and the Glazed Salmon (with jasmine rice, ginger bok choy, kimchi, gochujang glaze, sesame, and scallion -- GF). The salmon was excellent: a bit salty, but really flavorful, and the kimchi + glaze combo worked great with the rice and veggies. Broccolini was solid too. Overall, quality meal and good service. Would definitely return when I'm in the area again. Last visited: Nov 13, 2025

Daily kitchen has incredible food, and a wonderful atmosphere. However I have found the service to be extremely inconsistent and very slow. A few times have been stellar but a handful of times we've been left waiting an unreasonably long time for food.

Popped in for quick lunch before walking through Carytown. The place is very modern and airy with the patio open. The highlight was the baked feta, pistachio, figs spread appetizer. I could have eaten that again as my meal. My partner got the white cheddar BLT and I had the Mahi Mahi Sandwhich. The fries were very crunchy and delicious my sandwich was huge. Was not able to eat everything but we would definitely go back.

The service was great. I think based on the star rating people don't migrate to this place like they should...but I personally loved it. They say us down quickly, our service was kind...the place had a good vibe. It was clean! Very accommodating when it came to our food. Our food can fast and was hot and delicious. No complaints here. Absolutely loved my salmon!

Came here for brunch with some girlfriends, let me start off by saying this place has the best Brussels sprouts in all of RVA and possibly the world. They are so delicious, it's literally my favorite thing on the menu. I don't even care that it makes me gassy, I will eat the whole plate without sharing with anyone.

Brunch is only on weekends, got it. I came here once last year for Easter and I remember it being good. The service and the ambiance is the same but the food quality has drastically declined. So disappointing. I ordered the exact same thing that I ordered the last time I was here. The buffalo chicken wrap, would you imagine there is no flavor of buffalo in this wrap. The chicken tasted like it was either frozen or taken out of a can. It lacked flavor, it was Chewy, it was gross. Everything else tasted like soggy and watery. It literally tasted like the kitchen staff ran the contents of the wrap under water and then packed my wrap, the way how everything lacked flavor. Incredibly disappointing. The sweet potato fries also came out, majority burned/crispy. Mind you, it's a Monday. It's not very busy. I ordered a latte, that tasted like straight hot milk. No taste of coffee or espresso. My waitress never checked on us after bringing out our plates so I didn't get the opportunity to address the taste of my coffee. My partner got the hot honey pizza, that was incredibly flavorful. He liked it a lot. So the one star is for that. Bill was $65+ with tip.

We love the daily! I came here a few times over the years but the last time we went, we really enjoyed brunch. There's never been a long wait for a table, even when busy, and the inside is so cute with its trees and green moss, making it cozy and relaxing. I love all the vegetarian options so I never struggle to find tasty food. The brunch selection was great, and my omelette and potatoes were very filling!

Came here for a friend's Birthday brunch. We were a group of 12. The birthday girl liked that she could make a reservation ahead of time. Our seating situation was a bunch of tables pushed together so one side was all booth and the other were chairs. About 25% of our group ordered the crab omelet and practically licked the plate clean. Everyone enjoyed their brunch. I got their bread pudding French toast and enjoyed it. The flavor was nice and I liked the berries on top. The serving was really big for me so I shared with my friends. I also got the chai latte, which was a bit on the sweet side, but I still enjoyed it. I had been here once before with my mom and partner for dinner. I can't remember what we ordered, I think it was a fish dish and bowl. I found it to be pretty good. We had also sat on the patio which is a nice space. This was a great spot for a big group. The large windows were a huge plus. I also appreciate all the green here.

Back in 2018, shortly following a surgery, I knew I had to eat something bland and landed at The Daily for the first time. I ordered the mahi mahi, which I recalled being bland and boring, and subsequently did not return until December 2022 on a whim. I didn't know what I was missing. On that visit, and several visits following, I've had amazing food, great service, and tasty drinks. Both their cocktails and mocktails are top tier. For food, I've had the burger, the white pizza, and, several times over, the caesar salad. It may be my favorite caesar in Richmond. It's that good. I've also had their spinach and artichoke dip, which is pureed, and surprisingly incredible. It came with a perfect proportion of pita, too. When I want a decently healthy meal, The Daily now comes to mind. It's definitely a Richmond institution.

I was here for 3 hours because the food took forever to get here and the steak was tougher than what I expected from medium. The salad was mediocre. The appetizers (artichoke dip and pita) and my cocktail were the best things I had.

We really enjoy going to The Daily Kitchen & Bar in Richmond's Carytown. The food, service, and atmosphere are excellent and fun. The restaurant has large windows on two sides. The front windows are actually glass doors that slide open to merge the outside and inside. You can choose to dine outside, but I like to dine inside and breathe in the outside air and see, while also enjoying air conditioning. Even inside, the decor is tones of green and brown, with brown/gold metal trees as art--again merging the outside with the inside. They have a full bar with a wide variety of options and a menu of yummy cocktails. Now to the food. This visit, we enjoyed the Chopped Salad with grilled chicken added, the Mediterranean turkey burger, and the buffalo chicken wrap. The burger and wrap came with sweet potato fries. Portions are generous, and the meals were delicious. The restaurant gets busy at lunch, so make an Open Table reservation. Enjoy!

We went to the one in Carytown. Brussel sprouts is a great starter with tons of flavor! I ordered an avocado salad and I loved it. There were many fresh veggies in it like sweet corn, black beans, rice and whole half avocado. Salsas was fresh too. Beef hamburger, California club sandwich, Spain omelette and quinoa salad were delicious too. During lunch time, all the servers were too busy! I wish they come and asked how were our food though. I understand they are working hard but on our customers side, we do need more attention. It was a very hot day, unfortunately we did not get enough cool A/C because they opened the glass window so our table seats were pretty hot. A great place for families friends gatherings, I am not sure if they have happy hour.

    Mixed drink. Very good!

Hey Richmond !!! How awesome would it be if Daily Kitchen and Bar was on DoorDash?

We currently offer delivery through Chop Chop.

    Is the patio dog friendly?

We love dogs, but our patio is quite tight so for the safety of our staff and the comfort of our customers we allow dogs just outside the patio on the sidewalk.

Coffee/tea options? Two thumbs up. Food? Outstanding. Seriously, I loved it from start to finish. I showed up on a Tuesday morning with my laptop and an empty stomach. There's lots of seating inside (with great natural light throughout, it's just such a warm, cozy space), and a few tables outside as well. I ordered the Keshir team (ginger, orange juice, and honey), which totally hit the spot. I could not resist the breakfast combo, which comes with egg silsi (scrambled eggs in tomato sauce with onion), kinche (bulgur cooked and tossed with yellow onion and clarified butter and topped with jalapenos), firfir (injera sauteed in a spicy tomato sauce), and injera. I SCRAPED the plate. Everything was delicious. Just thinking about it now, I wish there was a Buna Kurs in Baltimore, so I could eat this for breakfast once a week. One of the best breakfasts I've had this year. No joke. I love Ethiopian food, and I am so jealous that Richmond has an Ethiopian cafe. Ethiopian for breakfast?! A dream. It doesn't hurt that the service and ambiance are also great. Easy street parking to boot. A great place to work. The only thing that I'd recommend to them is that a few more outlets to charge laptops or phones would be nice - so that people can work from the cafe more easily! But otherwise, Buna Kurs is pretty much perfect in my view. Dream breakfast. Great cafe. Couldn't love it more.

Upon entering, I was reminded of a 1950s pharmacy by the humongous "Prescriptions" sign hanging above the bar, and the antique furniture, bar, and barstools splayed throughout Tarrant's. There was a solid crowd at the bar; it's clear there is a regular crowd that sits and hangs out here. We were promptly seated by a young blonde woman in the dining section (behind the bar). Our server, Nadia, was an enchanting brunette, training another young server, Sierra. She took our drink orders and gave us plenty of time to review the menu, checking in after a few minutes to see if we were ready. We finally decided, my partner ordered the 10" Bianca White (pizza), and I chose the Sailor Sandwich. Unfortunately, the sailor was not in the cards for me, and Nadia suggested the Reuben as they were similar. They brought out breadsticks while we waited, and the food arrived within 10-15 minutes. I was pleased with the atmosphere, the old-fashioned chandeliers, the large mirror, the floral paintings, and the rustic frames, all of which added to the restaurant's stated aesthetic. The pizza was hot and savory, while the Reuben had buttery toast, crispy corned beef, and a light smattering of sauerkraut (TBH, I didn't even notice the sauerkraut). For dessert, we indulged in the upside-down walnut apple pie, served with vanilla ice cream, all made from scratch, and beautifully delicate. Our time at Tarrant's Cafe seemed like a stroll into the past; the only indication of modernity was the ordering kiosk used by the staff. We truly enjoyed our time and had deeply meaningful conversations without enduring the hustle and bustle or the rowdy cacophony of an intense crowd.

We had our pick of high-tops or traditional seating and chose a booth (the superior choice IMO). The ambiance and atmosphere felt modern and classic with a touch of ostentatious flair (the bird mural and columns up front were gorgeous). I prefer a curated menu and Fall Line keeps it simple. There are options for most people here. We ordered the skillet cornbread to start. C'est magnifique. We ordered from the sharables menu: the barrata, grilled cauliflower, and burnt ends. The barrata was the clear winner, followed by the cornbread. The burnt ends tasted fantastic, yet were too fatty to enjoy fully. Some constructive feedback: The cauliflower was a major disappointment; it needed additional time on the grill and more sauce to boot. I felt the barrata should have included one extra pair of crustinis. The apricot mostarda was divine, though. They don't carry a sour beer, so my partner and I did not partake. All in all, Fall Line Kitchen was a lovely experience, and our server Satya was a pleasure as well. As we exited, the kind host offered to take our picture in front of the light-wrapped columns. What a gentleman.
