My wife and I saw a two-piece band setting up for their performance through the window, and decided to pop in for a glass (or two) and some live entertainment. We were warmly welcomed into this classy (seeminly family run) little space, ordered a chardonnay (I didn't catch the name), Rose of Tempranillo (which my wife liked so much, she ordered one for herself afterward), and the Gewurstraminer (which ended up being my favorite). All the while, we were engaged and entertained by the two members of the band, who were amused by our toddler's sons utter fascination with them and their music. Big thanks to both of them, and the owners of Pinot Vista, for allowing and taking pleasure in our son's wanderings and exploration! He was enraptured! Such a relaxing environment, couple with some wonderful wine, beautiful music, and spending time with family without any responsibilities or expectations, is the perfect way to spend a Saturday evening, and I can't imagine many better places in McMinnville than here at Pinot Vista! We will definitely be back, the next time we find ourselves in town.

If you check out the wines on their website, you'll see an extensive list, with a very wide range, including Pinot, Dolcetto, Syrah, Tempranillo, Zin, Cabs, Chardonnay, Blancs, and some sparkling wines. And that's only a portion of what's available. My flight was excellent, so much so, that I bought a couple of bottles. I had a great server, Candace, and had the opportunity to talk to her husband, Jeff, who was sitting next to me. A very friendly place. I opted for inside seating because it was hot that day, and I was already roasting from eating atop the McMenamin's rooftop bar. This place was way more my speed. A five-star experience.

Can't say enough good things about Marcus and Matello / Goodfellow…read more First, Marcus is the winemaker and is a very humble, accommodating, and knowledgeable guy. He poured several of his wines for us during a tasting appointment (he owns and produces both Matello and Goodfellow Family Cellars' portfolio) and I cannot express how grateful we were that he took the time to tell us about himself, the history of the winery, and the wines themselves. One of the beautiful things about Oregon is how intimate the tastings are (and also are typically with the winemaker themselves), and Marcus was a perfect example of that spirit. The wines were elegant, satisfying, and very reasonably priced. Holy s**t his Chardonnay is ridiculous, as are his Pinot's. Marcus truly knows how to bring out the personality of each vineyard he works with, and it doesn't hurt that he's got some good stock to choose from! Please get yourselves over to Valley Commissary for breakfast and beeline directly for Matello/Goodfellow right next door. He is conveniently located in downtown McMinnville and is an awesome guy!
