This is mediocre to low. I think they get away with high ratings because the ambiance is lovely and the waiters provide services similar to what you get at high end restaurants, but the food itself is essentially Olive Garden at triple the price. Three of us ordered the lobster fettuccini. The pasta was severely overcooked, the dish was lacking in citrus or brightness, and there were maybe 3-4 bites of lobster. It's $45. Some of our party ordered short ribs and reported they were just ok. And while our server was very kind, the restaurant runs on a serious time delay. We were sat at 7pm, drinks took roughly 30 min to arrive, orders were not taken until 30-45 min, and food did not arrive until around 830. Looking around at tables nearby, it seemed they were on a similar schedule. Overall it's pretty underwhelming especially given the price. I think it's likely a tourist trap and I'd avoid. ETA in response to the business response: I appreciate that I could have said something about the food, however we had already waited roughly 90 minutes for it to arrive so ultimately it didn't feel worth it to me to try to order something else and wait even longer, especially because I was with a party of 8 and didn't want to cause further delay to others. I stand by my Olive Garden opinion as the consistency of the overcooked pasta really was significant to us, it was quite mushy in our opinion. The espresso martinis we ordered also tasted pretty watery to us which also reminded me of a chain restaurant. However, I will reiterate we appreciated our server and I will add a compliment on the arancini as those were quite good and the highlight of our meal and I do recommend them to anyone dining here. I really wanted some shrimp and pasta and the dish satisfied that craving The focaccia bread was a bit odd, I didn't like the cheese crust on top and thought it would have been better plain. The arancini balls were very ordinary. Sauce had no flavor. Saw another table take a few bits of theirs and push them aside. focaccia bread was mystery bread. Awful. We ate half of one piece and left the others. Other guests did the same. We know how to make excellent sour dough bread, NY style pizza dough and herbed focaccia bread. This was nothing close to that. Too much oil in dough and over baked. Dry and too hard crust on the bottom. Should have never served it. For those that give this place 4-5 stars don't know real excellent Italian cooking or this place had a bad night!! Nothing we experienced related to what others said. However, my dish (the chicken and beef rigatoni bolognese) was extremely salty and I was only able to eat a few bites. What can I elaborate on anymore because the culinary experience, ambiance and above all, the inimitable level of service was impeccable. The appetizers that we ordered, the Wagyu carpaccio, was seasoned mildly, well balanced and not overwhelming with the chopped salad or balsamic shallot toppings that one normally would not expect to accompany carpaccio. It was surprisingly pleasant. The Frito Misto had a light airy batter and could've used a slight bit more salt or seasoning so that the tartar sauce wouldn't be a necessary dipping sauce but only for heightened flavor. The arancini was mainly rice, albeit the appetizer is fried arborio rice balls with other ingredients, the ratio of the rice to the mozzarella filling could've been less. Once you cut into the massive rice balls, the cubed cheese tends to ooze out only in half of the severed balls so you must cut into another rice ball to enjoy the filling. The chopped salad was our least favorite. We requested light dressing, but it could've used a bit more chopped salami because the ratio was like a garnish instead of one of the main ingredients The lobster fettuccini was an explosion of divine flavors in your mouth. There was a generous portion of succulent lobster claw meat and knuckles dressed with that rich calabrian chili, pink vodka sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly, firm and al dente. The cannolis graciously given as my complimentary birthday desert were phenomenal. They were not sweet and just perfect with the extra smooth ricotta filling. THE OVERALL PRIZE TO THIS EXCEPTIONAL MEAL was the excellent service beginning from the hosts to our server, Mariana, and the rest of the staff. Mariana truly made our evening the most delightful so far during our stay here in Nashville. With her sparkling, full-hearted smile, and radiant energy, especially her attentiveness to our preferences, she is a true gem to the restaurant. Last night I got a Rigatoni Bolognese and my boyfriend got the Fettuccine with Roasted Tomato Pomodorini. If you're not good with spice I don't recommend the fettuccine! Went to the Mother's Day Brunch at Luogo. Appetizers were pretty good, otherwise this would have been 2 stars. My son and I had beef spare rib hash. It was reminiscent of the beef stew we had in our MRE military rations in the Army - it needed hot sauce as it was bland. Wife had Lobster and Langostino pasta, which was better than average. The kind of meal that makes you want to hug the chef. 5 Stars -- Add this place to your "last meal on Earth" list. Had an unforgettable dinner at Luogo last night. We started with the arancini (crispy bites of heaven), the burrata (creamy, dreamy, and probably illegal in some states), and the grilled Caesar (because apparently grilled lettuce is the move now--and I fully support it). For entrées, we shared the bolognese (rich and comforting), the spaghetti and meatballs (classic, done right), and the short rib--which honestly deserves its own zip code. So tender it basically apologized for existing. Dessert was just showing off at this point. The chocolate mousse was decadent and silky, and the tiramisu? It arrived in a retro stainless steel coffee pot like it was about to tell us a story about the old country. Bravo. Oh--and the service? Impeccable. Attentive without hovering. Friendly without being fake. Basically, Luogo nailed it from start to finish. Go hungry. Leave happy. Possibly emotionally attached to a short rib. I don't normally write reviews but this was a disappointing dinner. We started with burrata and salmon crudo for appetizers. Burrata was fine, the bread it's served with was drenched in oil and took over the taste. I make a better burrata appetizer at home. The crudo was not good and shouldn't be listed as crudo. When you order crudo you think you'll get raw slices of fish. This was a stack of avocado with salmon on top. There was no avocado listed in the description on the menu so it wasn't at all what I expected. I pulled up the menu to make sure I wasn't crazy (tear drop peppers, lemon & lime, pistachio, Calabrian chili, radish, herb oil, mascarpone dollop). I wouldn't have ordered it if avocado was listed because lately restaurant avocado is nasty. The chicken Marsala was recommended by our server and it tasted very salty and like gravy. I think the white wine was forgotten. I got the duck ragu. It hardly had any meat and not a single mushroom. It was more of a pomodoro. The noodle was good but I don't like a meatless tomato sauce. I've read a couple of reviews now and see many others have the same observation with the duck ragu and the burrata. Our server was nice but when I didn't finish my dinner she didn't come back. It was my birthday and since we didn't order a dessert ourselves they didn't bring anything out as a birthday treat which is unusual. The person who brought over the check for us to pay had her head turned away from us the entire time my husband was paying like she hated that she even had to deal with us at all. It was odd because other than me not finishing the pasta we had no complaints. Their concept is to order everything and they will manage to bring things slowly while you and your party enjoy conversations and the ambiance. Food wise we recommend as starters meatballs & arancini & the pizza! Portions are good size. Rogatonis bolognese, white mushrooms fenel pasta, both completely outstanding. But the Tiramisu you have to have it!!! Its so delicious and so beautifully made inside an espresso greca. This is definitely the best if the best. Let me start off with my positive notes here. The drinks and overall ambiance were amazing. Luogo has the perfect amount of low mood lighting mixed with easy listening tunes and exceptional cocktails. That is where my positivity ends. I was very excited to try this restaurant out and upon arrival my guest and I walked in with a reservation and it still took us a while to be seated (about 30 mins). However it was the weekend so we understood it was a busy day. Once we were seated it took about another 25 mins until we were greeted by our waiter who then informed us that she didn't greet us right away because we weren't in her section and she didn't know she was supposed to be serving our table as well. The overall vibe from the staff after that was slightly off putting and unpleasant. Nonetheless, I was determined to give this place a shot because I have heard such great things. The appetizer we chose was the fritto misto which was delicious and prepared well, I would recommend this item. The entree however fell flat for me, it was slightly bland and lacked flavor/seasoning. Overall my visit here was not the best and the service left a bad taste in my mouth(no pun intended). If you do wish to dine at Luogo, I recommend coming for the drinks and appetizers but go elsewhere for an entree. read more

While in Nashville, we decided to check out Luogo. You can never go wrong with Italian food. We started with drinks, and I have to say they have a great espresso martini. I would come back just for that. Since we were a large, hungry group, we ordered quite a bit off the menu. Most everything we ordered was pretty solid. There really wasn't anything we hated: Potato and zucchini chips- this was a beautiful presentation. The chips were nice and crispy, and honestly, it's a home run for funky cheese fans. Margherita pizza- the pictures made this look like cheesy goodness, but it was not what we expected. It was a paper thin crust with minimal cheese. While still decent, I wouldn't order again. Arancini- if you're a cheese lover, this is for you. Imagine an arancini married a fried mozzarella ball. So, so good. Burrata and prosciutto- this was solid, but nothing particularly special. It was your typical burrata and prosciutto. Rigatoni bolognese- the sauce tasted like it had been cooking for hours. It had a great depth of flavor. I would recommend ordering. Chittara and meatballs- also delicious The meatballs were juicy and this was quite a filling dish. Chocolate bread pudding- we could not stop taking bites of this because it was so deliciously chocolatey. Banana pudding. While I'm not a fan, my friends LOVED this. A few loud voices on the other table, but that wasn't the fault of the restaurant. The Fritto Misto was so flavorful, light and crispy. It had perfect seasoning. My only complaint I would say, it has too many pieces of calamari and 3 pieces of shrimp. Everything else was exceptional, you can taste this is all being made in house with lots of fresh ingredients. Simple dishes but filled with so much flavors. We made reservations for Luogo for a birthday. The restaurant was beautifully and tastefully decorated. The atmosphere was very lively. We were sat immediately and all of the staff members we interacted with were attentive and kind and wished a happy birthday. We ordered the potato and zucchini chips, meatball, and stuffed zucchini blossom as appetizers. The chips were okay; the Gorgonzola serving was generous. The meatball was massive and delicious. The stufffed zucchini blossoms were generously stuffed and a unique offering for an Italian restaurant in Nashville. We shared the bucatini with charred cauliflower and rigatoni bolognese and both were okay. For dessert, we also shared the ricotta cheesecake and pistachio panna cotta, both recommended by our server Jon Gibson. The pistachio panna cotta was out-of-this-world good. Perhaps the best dessert I've ever had at a restaurant. The cheesecake was also very delicious. The desserts were brought out with a sparkler and our food runner kindly took our photo with it.
