Found this place due to reviews on-line. Stunned it's been open 7 years or so! Located on the bottom floor of the L&L Building on Charlotte Pike. Indoor and outdoor seating with many community tables. Plenty of parking. Friendly service from Shanna and Kenna. Order online with your phone. Takes a moment to catch on, but after you get the hang of it, it's a fairly good process. Fantastic food! We had a couple pasta dishes, a pizza, and bread. Far too much food, yet reasonably priced...especially in Nashville! Great happy hour. Cannoli was delicious.

I went to PennePazze during happy hour and there was no wait. Their happy hour consists of bogo drinks but did not appear to include any food. The service is unique in that fact that it is very hands off but still a sit down meal. You will scan a QR code, order through the app, the waitress will bring your food, and then you close the bill on the app as well. The pasta was excellent and super fresh. The gnocchi was prepared perfectly and I think it might be hard to get me to try anything else. There are longer tables inside for larger groups and some where you can watch them prepare the food as well as more options on a covered patio.

Good food, quirky little place. You place your order then they bring it out. You get your own silverware and drinks. Friendly staff. Noodles are awesome.

Since this was our first time here, we wanted to try a pasta and a pizza that we shared (and we had some leftover for a snack later) Pinsa Maleducata - Tomato sauce, Fontina cheese, Pancetta (Italian Bacon) & Onion Jam (yum!) Gnocchi Crema Di Gorgonzola- Pecorino & Roasted with Pistacchios on top. Both were delicious, the Gnocchi was light, exactly how it should be and the Gorgonzola-Pecorino creme sauce was was smooth and perfectly made. We couldn't resist a good finish, so we split a Tiramisu - Mascarpone cream & Coffee lady finger cookies topped with cocoa powder. I had an espresso & my wife opted for a cappuccino (even though it was after 11am... shh, don't tell anyone). The server was attentive & helpful and we enjoyed the food. We were actually between the normal lunch & dinner shift, so the restaurant was not too busy. We opted to sit outside which was a little noisy from the road traffic at that hour, I did take a look inside and at the kitchen area. On our next trip here, we will be sitting inside and try some of their wine, and other offerings. Both the Gnocchi and the Pizza were very good, and we look forward to our next visit.

Absolutely incredible food, but the vibe is a little odd. My friend and I stopped by here to grab dinner during the week, and we were sat immediately. The staff here are super friendly, and gave us great recommendations once we were seated. The restaurant is semi-full service. You are sat at a table, but you have the menu online and can only order online. At that point I'd rather just take it to-go. My friend's phone was dead, so we also had to pass my phone back and forth to order. There are a couple of servers taking care of all of the tables once the orders are ready, so it feels like the restaurant is trying to get away with paying less people. I ordered the nonna paula, added pancetta to it, and made it spicy. The sauce was absolutely incredible. It was smooth, nutty, and creamy, and the house-made pasta was cooked perfectly. I wish their version of making it spicy didn't also make it more oily; it also didn't really add any kick to it. I'd definitely order to-go, but I'm not sure if I'd dine-in here again.

Always a great meal at PennePazza (their takeout and UberEats options are also solid). Ali took great care of us and we love sitting at the bar to watch the open kitchen and pasta making (yes, pasta is made in house). The Shrimp Mama Rosa is one of the best pastas we have ever eaten. The pana cotta is always delicious. The meatballs in bread bowl are a great new addition to the menu. Three hours of free parking if you validate at the hostess stand.

DISCLAIMER: Food was 5 star worthy, our service was good too, but they do things non traditionally here, and not in a good way... We tried to make a reservation for valentines day, only to find out after getting directed to other websites that they do t take reservations. Upon entering, we see placards on tables saying "reserved for valentines day".... um what? We tried that... They Seated us noy by ourselves at our own table, but right next to 2 strangers at a larger table.... Are you joking? I didnt ask for this! A valentines day meal into cant even have in private with my lady, we had to share our conversations with the two people right next to us. This was a HUGE turnoff. Upon bringing us our water pitcher, they brought out paper cups for us. If im paying $18 for a pasta dish, I don't want a paper cup for my water, I want a glass, thank you very much. But apparently thats too much for them to do. If youre saying you specialize in authentic Italian cuisine, but your salt and pepper shakers are pretty ground, and not the twist to grind ones, you're contradicting your claims... The 3rd drawback was their digital menus. Any place that has a digital menu is always a red flag. Not only do you order online but you pay there too, which is whatever I guess, but just odd. That being said, our food was great, the carbonara pazza was better than the amatriciana in my opinion but both were very good! The pinsa sticks were also wonderful, especially when using their olive oil soaked with hot pepper flakes and a little salt on top. All in all, a small spot with very good food, but just beware, you might be sharing your meal with complete strangers, sipping water out of paper cups, and browsing a digital menu

If you're in Nashville and love fresh pasta, you have to check out PennePazze! It's located inside the super cool L&L Market, which is such a fun spot on its own with tons of other shops and restaurants to explore. When we got there, they told us the wait would be about 45 minutes, so we decided to wander around the market. To our surprise, they called us over in just 15 minutes! Once we sat down, we had a great view of the kitchen. They have glass panels so you can actually watch them making the fresh pasta right in front of you. There's no traditional waiter, you just scan a QR code to order and pay, and everything moves really quickly and smoothly. I ordered the Nonna Paula pesto pasta and it was SO GOOD. Between the fun atmosphere, the fresh-made pasta, and how easy the whole experience was, I'll definitely be coming back!

    oh the pasta! YES

Thankful we knew someone who had been here and they recommended it and guided us in. Tucked in a building with several other businesses, at night, it's pretty unassuming. Even after entering, it's pretty simple. We took a seat and our server let us know how to access the menu (QR) and order (online). Pastas are home made, wines are Italian and imported, yada, yada. So we order, food begins arriving. My one negative was the food arrived as it was ready which meant not at the same time so a bit awkward. (expect that with Tapis but not when all get an entree). I ordered the Pannini Caprese. Wonderful bread! Great flavor, and it is a lot of meal! Husband had the AMATRICIANA and that pasta was amazing! While I enjoyed my dinner, I will definitely have a pasta dish next time!

    Shauna C.

I've been here before but tried a new-to-me menu item this time! The Panini Caprese. It was delicious. Half of it filled me up for lunch. If you're coming here for the first time and can only pick one item - go with the pasta!! It's out of this world. But, truly, if you eat anything with pesto on it - you'll be happy. Best pesto I have ever had! These dishes are authentically Italian and I love coming here for lunch/dinner and happy hour!

    Scarlett P.

Well what can I say we've hopefully all had Italian food before right? Well you have not had Italian food till you have tried this restaurant The vibe was incredible it looked very modern and clean. The seats were very comfortable. The Waiters were so kind and attentive, and the food was...AMAZING homemade and fresh wish we had one in my home town. The neighboring gelato store was connected by a door same people ,locally owned and the ice cream was just as good as the pizza. If you're in the area I definitely would recommend.

My friend from church recommended this place after service this past Sunday ! And I am SO GLAD SHE DID ! The Crema De Broccoli was AMAZING ! I ate it all !! The restaurant was very authentic and classy. I LOVED everything about it. I plan to go again .

We went here for lunch and had Ana amazing experience!! The place is super cozy.. great ambience. They have open kitchen concept. The menu is via scanning bar code and even check out is through the same bar code. So service is only for water :) Highly recommended!!

We know why it's packed now. The interior is stunning, the service was on point. Professional and personable at the same time. We had the pleasure of sitting outside on a beautiful evening. It was perfect. We started with the tuna tartare and marinated octopus. I'm iffy when it comes to octopus. If it isn't done right, it's horrific. This was so tender, sliced thin, and was a perfect bite with the chilled potatoes. The tuna tartare was equally as good, but the octopus stole show. The tuna has a burnt orange vinaigrette around the outside of the plate. It's more than just a garnish. Make sure you get a bite with the tuna. For dinner we had the bolognese, duck ragu, and braised short rib. All three dishes melted in your mouth. The duck was my favorite, I added a little whipped ricotta to each bite and it was just 10/10. For dessert I asked if they could make a pistachio martini, and gave them the ingredients. Their bartender hadn't heard of one, free poured it, and absolutely nailed it. The cannoli filling was too sweet and too thick for me. It tasted like thick buttercream icing. Personal preference, but I prefer a lighter filling. All in all, I would say don't walk to Luogo...RUN. Reservations are highly recommended.

But I have overheard other people at other tables rave about it. 2. The service is always amazing. Today we had Riley who had an extremely busy section but she kept up with all her tables. Brian one of the managers came up and introduced himself to let us know that if she got too busy we could alway flag him down for assistance, but that was never the case. I watched as both kept up as the restaurant quickly filled up with the dinner rush. Riley never missed a beat and check on her tables frequently as well as answered any questions. Brian was constantly walking around introducing himself to guests and making everyone feel welcome. You know you're at a good spot when a manager comes by just to say hi and check to make sure everything is going well. 3. They also take allergies very seriously which is helpful for myself as I do have food allergies and so does my friend who I took to this restaurant. They suggest ordering multiple dishes to share but honestly the size is perfect for a single serving. "Negatives" you really do need to make a reservation and you have to make it probably 48 hrs in advance. I've tried making one 24hrs and haven't been able to get the time I wanted, and same day reservations are nearly impossible. I have walked in on a whim and was able to get bar seating with a friend. When it gets busy it for some reason it just feels extremely loud, and this could be a me thing, but I have felt most times I've come that once the rush comes in it can be hard to hear your table.

We ordered the bruschetta appetizer to start and some drinks. The appetizer came out promptly and was nicely done, with plentiful helpings of burrata and cherry tomatoes layered with balsamic pearls. The pearls have the appearance of caviar so it was a pretty and flavorful twist. Unfortunately, that was the end of the positives. Our dinner entrees included the chicken parmesan and grilled salmon. Both were overcooked and the salmon in particular (I asked for it to be rare in the center) was so throughly cooked it had a very grainy texture. The sauce was bland and the pasta overly soft. Service was pretty one-note as well, not rude but not particularly attentive either. Dinner ran $120 with tip including two cocktails and one beer. Really disappointing.

At the end of our meal, it took him forever to bring the check, My husband had the salmon which he said was good. I had the chicken saltimbocca which was not good. The chicken and prosciutto were good in my dish but the linguine had so much garlic it was nasty tasting. I ate the chicken but the overpowering taste of the garlic was very bitter and unpleasant. I ate only a small portion of it. Now I feel a bit nauseous and I know it is from the garlic. That seemed to be the only seasoning in the dish and was definitely too much.
