We made a reservation ahead of time and they were easily able to accommodate our group of 10. Our server was kind and gave great recommendations, we even had a manager come over and introduce himself. The restaurant had a classy ambiance and we loved the vibe. We LOVED the Brussels Sprouts. I would give that a 100/10. Unfortunately our booth seats were cracked and were irritating our legs. It definitely didn't match the aesthetic and kind of ruined the experience for some of our group. We were celebrating a special occasion and she brought out champagne, and at the end treated us with tiramisu AND two scoops of fun flavored ice cream (Fruit Loops and Key Lime Pie). The tiramisu was very unique with a caramel sauce. She also brought us two baskets of bread which we loved since the bread was super delicious fresh from the oven! The table had lovely olive oil and balsamic to dip the bread into. We tried the truffle Arancini (great cheesy bites without over powering truffle, but wish they were bigger since they were so yummy!) and eggplant parm. Stopped by later in the evening and was able to just walk-in. Moto has a very sleek and modern interior. I sat at the bar and service was quick and attentive throughout the meal. One of the staff started off the meal with complimentary bread+olive oil+balsamic. This was really good and a great way to start the meal. The meatballs were flavorful and the sauce was great to also dip some of the bread. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts was my favorite dish and probably one of the better versions I've had. The white balsamic added such a light touch that was great, plus the apples added an additional level of sweetness that was perfect. The Lobster Strozzapretti was solid and creamy. I came here with 5 other colleagues for a weeknight business dinner. The restaurant has an attractive, modern dining room with an open kitchen. The waiter knew the menu well and gave us excellent suggestions. No one in the group wanted an appetizer but instead just ordered entrees. The food was well-presented and portions were reasonable though not particularly generous. Otherwise the meals were delicious and unique (black spaghetti with shrimp was my selection). By the time we shared side dishes (tasty brussels sprouts), the combination was filling enough, but the bill became quite expensive. For just my pasta and a glass of happy hour wine my check came to $60. Fortunately the waiter brought complimentary focaccia bread. The place looks fabulous and has a nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Our waitress was the best. I wasn't feeling well and we had to leave early. This lady went above and beyond to make sure we were able to enjoy our affogato when we got back to our hotel and while I don't recommend eating it later, it was still delicious and I can't thank her enough for her help. This was an unexpected stop. We were going in for cocktails only before getting our night rolling in the bar alley. So glad we did. Had more quality time, convo and fun here than down on the bar strip. The ambiance is low light and romantic. Loved it. We usually belly up to the bar and our bar server was on point. We did not order all this food but sat at the end of the bar where the appetizer orders were being made. It was fun watching the staff an he was busy all night. The items we ordered we split and shared were the wagu filet which the price point was unbelievable. The flavor and cook was to perfection. Cesar salad was simple but delicious. And we ordered the calamari. Most calamari is typically too chewy and rubbery. Not this one. Super soft yet the outside was crunchy and flavorful. The best birthday dinner experience I could have ever hoped for! My boyfriend took me here last month as a surprise birthday dinner location, and I'm still not over it. The personalized touches made the service memorable, from the handwritten happy birthday note to the extremely personable waitstaff to not just (their standard) 1 but 2 birthday candles (to release the old year and welcome in the new!). We had never dined here before, and Mandy walked us through the entire menu, describing everything deliciously and providing recommendations. We ordered the truffle arancini appetizer, carbonara pasta, verlasso salmon, Brussels sprouts, and 4 different cocktails throughout the course of the night. The restaurant also gifted us dessert with prosecco to celebrate my birthday. Everything was exquisite, including the delicious complimentary focaccia with oil for dipping (some of if not the best bread I have ever had). The restaurant atmosphere felt elevated casual, and for a Friday night, they weren't busy - which made my low-key birthday dreams come true (including nobody singing to me). There was a moment of discomfort when a large party of girls was seated immediately next to us (since the tables are close enough to reach over if someone wanted to), as they were staring down us and our food - but the food was so good that I couldn't totally blame them! One of my new favorite spots in Nashville! I took my girlfriend here last night to celebrate her birthday and we had an AMAZING time. Right off the bat, when I booked the reservation I got a call from the restaurant asking what they could do to make the dinner special. When we arrived, there was a cute card waiting wishing her a happy birthday. The restaurant has a nice upscale feel, but not too fancy. Our server Mandy was THE BEST; seriously the most friendly, helpful and kind server I've ever had. The food and drinks were fantastic. We ordered the Brussels, the salmon, the carbonara and the arancini. Honestly they were all amazing, especially those Brussels! Drink wise we ordered the Mezzanotte, Pearless Whisper, So Long Sweet Summer and Pumpkin Rye-ot. All of the drinks were perfectly balanced and delicious. I had been wanting to try Moto for a long time, and I finally made plans with my colleagues to go. We booked the earliest available slot at 5 PM, and later the place became fully packed. The overall space at each table was quite generous, and the atmosphere was relatively quiet. Appetizers: Tuna Tartare - Highly recommend this dish! The tuna itself was incredibly fresh and light, complemented by a unique Italian-style pesto and a mix of herbs. The texture was smooth and delicate. Even my friend, who was trying raw fish for the first time, really enjoyed it. Truffle Arancini - This was a recommendation from the server. The crispy exterior gave way to a rich, aromatic black truffle filling. I'd also recommend this dish. Main Course: Hot Honey Pizza - Another recommendation from the server. The portion was huge--enough for three to four people. The spiciness mainly enhanced the aroma rather than causing a burning sensation. However, I found it slightly too salty; one slice was fine, but eating more felt a bit overwhelming. Lobster Strozzapreti - Since it's an Italian restaurant, we had to try a pasta dish. While this lobster pasta is a popular item, I personally found it quite average. I'd recommend trying a different option, such as the Black Spaghetti instead. Dessert & Drinks: We didn't order dessert because we were too full, but I think their gelato would be a great choice. For drinks, I ordered the Basil Rathbone--it was incredibly refreshing on the first sip, followed by a pleasant sweetness from the honey as it lingered on the palate. One of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant in a long time. Made a reservation to celebrate my wife's and I's 29th anniversary. We arrived about 10 minutes early so we sat at the bar until our table was ready. It was a Friday so the restaurant seemed full but nothing too crazy. We ordered some drinks and were sat about 15 minutes after our reservation...not a big deal, we had drinks and we could see that other groups were waiting as well. The hostess who was very nice came over and took us to our table and then we sat....and we sat....and we continued to sit No one ever came to our table to greet us, tell us they would be over to take our order...nothing. The manager, I assume by the suit he was wearing, walked by our table at least 7 times, no acknowledgement, but stopped by all the tables around us, bringing them food, asking how their meal was. So we continued to sit until we had enough and then we left, having had nothing to eat, never having even placed an order for food, only the drinks we had at the bar. As we were leaving, the very nice hostess said goodbye to my wife, never questioning why we were leaving after only 30 minutes after being seated. I would say bad service but we didn't get service with the exception of the bar (bar staff were great) and terrible restaurant management. read more

Dined at Moto Saturday night with a large group of friends. I stepped away from the table after dinner to speak to the manager. The bolognese was not good. The 3 of us who ordered the dish didn't eat it. It was that bad. Regrettably the servers and manager didn't respond and charged us for food we didn't eat. Thankfully a friend shared his lobster pasta which was delicious. Your restaurant needs to respect your patrons more. Listen to their needs and respond. My first thought was they ran out and had to whip up a batch, which is epically wrong with bolognese. The other option is perhaps they don't understand what good bolognese is. What a shame. So let me get specific: the meat in the bolognese was gritty and no flavor (perhaps add a mixture of pork and beef with some baking soda to tenderize), the sauce had no creaminess, no Parmesan, no milk, total lack of any bay leaf or nutmeg, veggies were gritty too; my thought was chef doesn't know what they are doing or was out of town. I'm a big fan of other M Street restaurants but hadn't tried Moto yet - we went for dinner this past Saturday night and had a great experience! It was just my husband and I, but it wasn't too busy so we were given a booth that would sit 6. It had a great view out to the rest of the restaurant, which I loved! We both got cocktails and they were excellent - we asked for recommendations and our waitress nailed it. For appetizers, we ordered the meatballs and the truffle arancini. Arancini is always a must order for me when I see it on a menu - it was good, maybe a smidge dry, with a yummy sauce. The meatballs were amazing - maybe the best meatballs I've had at an Italian restaurant! We were also served bread and olive oil/vinegar, and the bread was warm and soft. I ordered the bolognese for dinner and my husband ordered the black spaghetti. We also got a side of fries and brussel sprouts. Again, you can't go wrong with an M Street brussel sprout, and these were excellent! The fries were a nice surprise too - crispy outside but fluffy inside. The bolognese was amazing, and my husband was really happy with the black spaghetti! Our food came out pretty quickly - I wouldn't have minded a bit more time between our appetizers and our main courses coming out, honestly. The restaurant was beautiful, but had a decent bit of ambient noise - it was maybe half full but we checked and it was 76 decibels mostly from ambient sound - there was a low frequency tone that came and went and you couldn't hear the music when it happened. Not too loud for conversation between the two of us, but I'm not likely to take my parents or a larger group here. The service was fantastic and all the food was something I'd order again! read more

The 5 is for the most amazing and authentic burrata I've had in a long long time; and amazing customer service. The waiter kinda opened up the burrata, sprinkled pink salt to it, and put olive oil on top. The tomatoes were small and perfect (not the big chunky tomato pieces some places give, which is raw and impossible to eat. The tiramisu was also great. I had wine with the dinner which was great (Pinot Noir). The pesto pasta was ok (my husband said it was great, I personally don't like the taste of lemon and pesto). He liked the eggplant Parmesan also. The bread given in the beginning was DELICIOUS.. and they did the perfect mixing of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Tiramisu was perfect. I've visited Moto approximately 40 times over 6 years. Back then it was difficult to find fault. It seems the food has steadily become more manufactured instead of freshly made. I have had the Pappardelle Bolognese many times because back in the day it was excellent with a truly meaty sauce. Now? Not so much. The sauce was too watery and the flavor, weak. I didn't appreciate them removing the cheese instead of giving me a new bowl. I don't like cheese on my bolognese as it takes away from the true bolognese flavor, however now that doesn't seem to matter as it really isn't that good anymore. Another thing, the serving is now half the size. Nice bowl though. (Sheesh!). The Tiramisu just isn't good anymore. It' used to be homemade, tasty and had a wow factor. Now it's an out of the packet dessert and tasted more like an cornetto rather than a tiramisu. They even messed up the coffee. It was cold! When that was served to me I knew they had no issues disrespecting me. Then they messed up the bill by adding plates that wasn't bought while forgetting to add the drinks that wasn't transferred from the bar. It wasn't a pleasant experience so I won't be back. The good ole days have truly gone. Definitely below a subpar experience. I won't return. read more

I'm so glad I did because the night was perfect. My boyfriend and I were promptly seated in a comfortable booth. Our server, Chris, was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Hands down, he has been the best server we have encountered in Nashville. When you go, ask for Chris! As for the food, we ordered the meatballs for an appetizer (which my boyfriend said was the best meatball he's had in his life). For our main course, I ordered the black spaghetti and my boyfriend ordered the spaghetti pomodoro. We both loved our dishes, and the servings were generous. The hostess said the wait was 30 minutes (7:15pm) and I said that 5 minutes ago the system showed 6:45pm and we just wanted to walk over. A minute later she said now it's a wait until 7:30pm. I said "so the story changed?" and she ignored and said nothing. We walked out and walked to the higher rated Luogo. The restaurant appeared 40% occupied. They go above and beyond in knowing your likes, allergies etc and are very knowledgeable of the menu and the way they describe all the dishes makes it difficult to decide. I had the black spaghetti which was amazing with large gulf shrimp and a spicy red sauce. My husband had the carbonara which is served authentically and he said was amazing. The restaurant ambiance very nice and welcoming. My wife had the pappardelle Bolognese and I had the wagyu beef. Both were very good, but the wagyu was amazing. Tiramisu for dessert (comped for anniversary, which was unexpected and very nice). Only tough thing is the parking can be a challenge, especially if there is something big happening on Broadway. The haricot verts green beans were unique & flavorful, only wished they had arrived to the table hot. The service however, was outstanding. Ed was phenomenal and super kind and polite. This was the first restaurant I ever went to in Nashville 2 years ago before moving here, and it always delivers. We came here for our anniversary dinner and the only opening they had was 8:45pm on a Saturday. We were seated at one of the booths in the front which are prime people watching seats. To start, we ordered the octopus. The bed of beans were a surprisingly delicious accompaniment. For mains, I got the black spaghetti (chef's kiss every time) and my boyfriend got the vegetable lasagna. We were both super satisfied with our dishes and our server was nice enough to bring out a complimentary tiramisu to celebrate. It was beyond having great service and a great meal. It was an incredible dining experience! It's located in a beautiful part of Nashville called the Gulch, the menu is very varied. Hence there are many great choices. Also their wine by the glass and cocktail menu is outstanding! I cannot say enough about our server Audrianna F., she expertly answered all of our many questions gave incredible suggestions, and has a true passion for the restaurant industry. We started with the Buratta with the blistered, cherry tomatoes and pistachios. Our server brought it to the table and then cut the Barata seasoned it and then served it to us, wow! My fiancé also had the pear salad which was also delicious, the portion sizes are very generous. We also had the olive oil flight which was out of this world. They get their bread homemade from one of their other restaurants across the street and it is simply amazing. For entrées, I had the scalloped eggplant with orzo and puréed peas, it was incredible. My fiancé had the pesto pasta and she added shrimp. It was also amazing. For dessert we had. I don't remember the name of it, but it had strawberries was homemade and was absolutely delicious.
