I did not buy my car at Lupient but seeing as it is a Buick I prefer to take it to a Buick dealership. I could not be happier with the service I receive when I need to bring my car in. I always work with Mike G who always has a smile for me when I come in. He always takes the time to answer my quesitons and explain what was done to my car in detail. They do have a nice shuttle service and I have utilized it a few times when my car needs to be there more than a few hours. Nate, who drives the shuttle in the morning, is always very friendly and gets me from point A to point B! The work is always done in a timely manner and I never have any complaints when I leave. I have the MyBuick app and, much to my surprise, there are actually video walkarounds that are done of my car when I bring it in and a list of the work that needs to/should be done is shown clearly. The texting service that is utilized is great as well. Notifications are sent to my phone of what needs to be done and I can either 'approve' the work or pass on it until a later visit right from my phone. I really have ZERO complaints and will always bring my car to Lupient! I have had to stop in once or twice into the showroom with questions relating to operating my car and I was always treated very kindly and my questions were addressed. I never feel like I was a bother even though I was not buying a car...... I contacted them and had a friend come and drive the unit. They have had the used vehicle for 158 days and not sold it. I made an offer and after having to call the salesman to ask him to check his email as he had not he stated they have a policy of requiring a $1,000 premium for out of state cash purchases. I said ask your sales manager anyway. All I got was an email saying they would decline my offer. If you are looking to buy and don't live In Minnesota keep looking they are not the dealer to work with. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! Tried to purchase a Yukon through Lupient. There was no on lot stock of what we were looking to get (or at other dealers we'd visited), so we decided to order the exact configuration we wanted. The sales rep was great through this whole process, so I hope he finds another dealership to work with that has ethics in the selling process. In making the order (over the phone) with the sales rep and the sales manager on shift at the time, I explained that we had a GM friends/family discount. They told me that would be handled and applied at the time of finalizing the purchase after the vehicle was built and on the lot. After providing a $2K (non-refundable) deposit and waiting 3 months for the car to be built and shipped and when going to finalize the purchase things started to get shady. The financing options and quote sheets were clearly at incredible high interest rates. I shared I'd get outside financing, then the sales manager said they could shop rates too. Feels like a classic move to try and get an ignorant buyer to use their juiced-up rates and get the dealer paid more. Asked for the purchase agreement with the line items of everything and the window sticker. Got the window sticker, but for a different Yukon and said they didn't have anything for purchase breakdown other than what they'd shared (I know there is more they can provide) so made me feel as though things were being attempted to be hidden from us. After working through that, the sale manager on shift at the time (Chris) said "we don't honor the GM family/friends discount on the Yukon" and after supposedly working with the General Manager, came back with a discount of the MSRP, but also decreased the trade offer on our car we were trading and the deal was contingent on given the trade to them for a very low price (clearly just giving me a "discount" by making it up on the trade). The whole process was very shady and smelled of all the bad car sales stereotypes out there. Felt like they realized they now had a car on lot with a unique configuration they thought they could sell to someone else for more than the deal they agreed to with me. Seems like they used us. Not a very ethical move on their part. They did, at the very least, refund the $2K deposit. I would NOT shop here. There are much better options available close by. I would highly recommend Luther Brookdale. We ended up getting the same configuration there and they honored our GM friends/family discount (and also listed it $6k+ lower than Lupient listed the one we'd ordered). Just had an oil change. I drove just over 5 miles and there was a burning smell the car started saying low oil and that I needed an oil change. I phoned them and they told me I need to pay for a tow truck. I am waiting to hear from someone at the dealership as the cost of a tow truck should be on them. Extremely disappointed in Lupient Buick GMC. I was preapproved by my Credit Union of 30 years to purchase a 2023 Buick Envision Avenir, which had been on their lot for a long time. After driving the vehicle and having full intentions of driving it home, Salesperson Michael informed me that they would not accept my financing and would not sell me a car. I understand that a dealership receives kickbacks from their preferred lenders, but to turn down a sale because of that is astounding. We purchased a car from Domingo Welfring. Or I should say, we had decided before walking in what car we wanted & he wrote up the sale. My wife & I purchased the car, we told him we each needed a key - Domingo gave us 2 keys to the car. Our mistake was not to check BOTH keys. After we got home & we needed to use the 2nd key, we realized it did not work. No worries, Domingo said to bring it in as it was probably a dead fob battery or something. Once we drove all the way back to the location, Domingo takes the key fob & finds out the fob is for the wrong vehicle. No worries as we will get another one that works obviously, right? You'd sure think so. But not here - not at this bastion of customer service! We were sent to the GM & then on to someone with a # ending in 4793. So far, we have not gotten the key & we are being told they will not be replacing the key. read more

The 2023 Yukon Denali I purchased for $84,500 had no floor mats and the All Weather Floor Mats which were listed but apparently kept by the previous owner. After the sale was completed, Lupient offered to sell me a replacement set at a reduced price, told them no. I I felt no need to purchase items that were listed on line and on the paper in the window which I felt should be included on a $84,500 vehicle purchase, new or used. After arriving home in Wisconsin I noticed the Yukon also missing owners / operating manuals normally found in the glove box. These will also need to be purchased. Make sure any missing items or parts are reviewed and made part of the written sales agreement as Lupient holds to their as is on your purchase. They do offer to sell you the missing items. Guess my bad, should have gotten in writing. Overall good buying experience, would recommend Lupient but disappointed I have to buy missing items. read more

Diagnosed and repaired a difficult electrical problem in an older Buick that prevented starting. Diagnosis alone took many hours for which we were only charged their standard diagnosis fee. Took 1.5 days to run a simple diagnostic test (which had already been performed at a different auto shop and they were aware of the issue), left me stranded at my workplace without informing me of any updates to my car, told me that my car was too dangerous to drive but made no attempts to work on it or organize a rental car. They tricked me pretty good, I'm disappointed in myself for letting it happen. I scheduled a test drive and they had the vehicle there ready for me and I was ready to make a deal. I was satisfied with the trade-in value, the salesman, and the experience as a whole and went home with a late model GMC. The next morning when I started my vehicle the engine was making an extremely loud ticking noise. It goes away when it warms up so obviously they knew about this issue and made sure the vehicle was warmed up when I got there. Bastards! read more

My vehicle purchase started out with a neighborhood mechanic misdiagnosing a noise I heard under the hood. Long story short, I needed to buy a newer automobile where I could trust the service I would eventually need. Years ago, I had been a Lupient customer, and it was to Lupient I returned. Though it was farther from home, they still provide a shuttle. I knew I wanted another Buick. I appreciate the safety and reliability of the brand. After some Internet "shopping" I appeared at Lupient's Wayzata Boulevard showroom hoping to find two Buick Encores. Fortunately, neither of them had been sold. My salesman, Alex, was not the high-pressure type. He wanted to know what was important to me. I drove one of the vehicles that day and returned to try the other a few days later. I made the decision that day. Then it was off to an office where I had to decide on some services and products to consider. I am very glad I chose the windshield protection product. I don't remember my windshield ever being so clean and clear. The vehicle has more pep than I expected when I need to accelerate. The greater steering angle has made it easier to park in my underground garage. I like sitting higher in this SUV than I did in my Buick LaCrosse. Overall, I was very pleased with my purchasing experience and enjoy driving my near new Buick. read more

Where to begin... My husband purchased a previously owned 2010 truck and a warranty here two months ago for over $20,000 Two weeks ago the truck completely died on the highway. First, they told him they'd look at it if he could bring it in. Hard to do when the truck WON'T RUN. They finally sent a tow truck but had no loaner car available. After they looked at it they said the transmission, catalytic converter, tire pressure sensors and several other things were bad. This is after TWO MONTHS on a $20,000 purchase. First they said they could cover the repair several things(that is if anyone ever returned my husband's calls). Then they said "sorry we can only cover the transmission". The catalytic converter alone was estimated at $2000 to fix. My husband said just do the tranny and the tire pressure sensors and he would have the rest of the work done somewhere else. Flash forward TWO WEEKS and the tranny is done but they want to charge us for something they fixed that WE DIDN'T AUTHORIZE. Turns out their technician broke a part while working on the transmission and they were going to charge us for the repair. Oh and they didn't "have time" to do the tire pressure sensors since they were "too busy". I can't even believe how bad this experience has been and it's STILL not done. I would NEVER buy a vehicle from this ace and am now afraid to buy a used car or truck from ANY dealership. Total rip-off runaround bullshit. read more

I recently purchased a used vehicle from this location and found the experience to be average at best. The negotiation was stiff as they have the sales rep run back and forth to the sales manager for every movement on price or options. The wait to speak with the finance guy was long. I was there for 3 hours not including the test drive and made it out right before closing time, feeling a bit rushed. I left a few items in my trade in and when I called the rep 2 days later to inquire it took him 2 weeks to get back with me to learn the items had been thrown away. I bought a used 2012 GMC Yukon from Lupient and I was very pleased. I had the choice of buying from a private party or from a dealer. I chose a dealer since I was looking for a used truck that had been checked-out or even certified by the dealer. I had settled on the 2012 because it had some features, switchable 2WD/4WD, that is not available on the 2010 or 2011. When I was looking around I found several 2012 Yukon's but Lupient really had a better price. I sent in an on-line request and got connected with Rusty. When I went in for a test drive Rusty was not on-shift, but met Graydon who took over. Despite it being sub-freezing out and close to closing Graydon agreed for a test drive. We went on a quick four block drive and the truck seemed to be good shape. I came back the next week to take it home. As I was driving on the freeway I heard this awful noise that seemed to be coming from the transfer case. My heart sank. What was Lupient going to do to help me? I got home and sent Rusty a text. I called Graydon and left a message. Graydon called back and I told him what was going on. He said he'd get back to me. He called me back and set up an appointment to have truck checked-out. The service team was great in the way they handled me and quickly I was out the door with a loaner. Next day I got a call with the bad news. Truck needed a front differential. Cost was going to be min $1,000 for a used one or $1600 for a new one. I called Graydon. He said he didn't know what they could do, but would get back to me. Graydon called me back to say that the General Manager, Tim Ciccarelli, had approved to fix the truck with a used front differential whatever the cost would be, but that there would not be a warranty. OR, I could kick-in $600, and Lupient would cover the rest for a new differential. I kicked in the $600. I was very pleased that Lupient stood behind their sale. I think it was within their rights, given the truck was 8 years old and had over 100K miles, to leave to me to pay for the whole amount. read more

I've had an awful experience since I bought my car a handful of months ago. The only upgrade I wanted was the stereo - so I went with the "site and sounds" option for a extra $2000. Long story short, vehicle showed up with a blown stereo. Brought it in three times, they told me that it was fixed by changing setting on the stereo itself. False, the subwoofer sounded like someone was shaking a metal box full of nails. I had to make the manager look at the woofer with me and sit in the car until they changed two of the 9 speakers. Oh yeah, it takes a month for speaker parts to show up. I had asked the dealership to replace the entire stereo. They said they'll replace speakers as they start sounding back. I'm currently waiting on one of the tweeter to be fixed. Lower control arms have been making noise since the day I bought the car. I've brought the vehicle in at least 4-5 times regarding the "thud" noise it makes every time I hit the brake. They ordered control arms and installed them once. Turns out the noise didn't go away - they ordered the same faulty control arms!! Apparently, GM is working on a fix for control arms with NO timeline. So, I'm driving a new car that sounds like chuck Norris is kicking every time I brake. I've brought the car in at least 10 times since I bought it (please note, I bought a new car in order to avoid maintenance). Servicemen have at times not called me back for updates for up to a month. I will say they have been at least kind and semi empathetic. Unlike the salesmen, who fulfill most of the used car salesman stereotypes society talks about. They ignored me after I signed the paperwork. Seemed like they had no empathy about the brand new car they sold me having so many issues. When I asked for something as a reparation - they actually fucking told me they wouldn't let me blackmail them. Wow! I'm not going to buy a vehicle with Lupient ever again, nor will I ever advise anyone in my life to do so. I'll also go across town to buy accessories for my Buick Regal Tourx at this point. OH YEAH, they told me 4 years 50000 mile warranty - which was a lie when I was buying the car. It had somehow been "activated" at the dealership 9 month prior to my purchasing it. So, I have a 3.25 year 48000 (ish) mile warranty on the car. LIES LIES LIES BY LUPIENT BUICK GMC. I held off on writing reviews for almost 7 months hoping they would change their awful service. I had bought my GMC Sierra back in 2006 from this same dealership and really enjoyed the service back then as well bought the best truck I have ever owned. I even came late last year to do a quick test drive of a truck just to see how much they had changed. In April, I had the privilege of working with Chris T. I have to say he was very kind from the start and listened to what we were looking for and what direction we were heading as it related to buying the new truck that we wanted. I had my mind set on what I wanted and he showed us a new GMC Sierra that aligned very closely to what we were looking for and fell in love with the truck. Also, everything from the financial end came together very nicely as we worked with Sara D., a new person in finance who was also very patient with us and guided us through all aspects of the loan and application. I'd have to say I really enjoyed my experience again at this dealership and recommend Chris as a Sales Consultant to engage as it ended up being a really positive experience for both my wife and I. read more

I'm honestly only reviewing this dealership because my experience was so negative...sorry, Lupient. I may not look like I know a lot about cars (stereotypically speaking), but I know when a mechanic is scamming me. I took my car here for a simple oil change 2-3 years back, and what I ended up with was a nightmare. After waiting for what seemed like over an hour (for an oil change, people! Not complicated.)..I was finally approached by the mechanic, who told me it was recommended I have a couple "flushes" done (transmission and one other). He didn't give me a price, but told me it would be a simple procedure. After waiting for another 2 hours and getting very antsy, I went to check on how things were progressing. When I finally got my bill, I was floored (in the worst way). The two fluid flushes cost me over $300!!! And at this point, I was a 20-year-old who didn't throw that kind of cash around flippantly. Heck, most 20-year-olds barely have $300 bucks! I paid up, and went home...in tears (PS, I never cry). After explaining what happened to my dad, he proceeded to tell me those flushes aren't necessary until 100,000 miles and my 2007 Pontiac G6 was nowhere near that milage mark! Needless to say, we went back to Lupient together, had to ask for 2 levels of management before anyone would speak to us, and finally got a full refund. Oil needed to be changed in the car this weekend, so I dropped it off at Jim Lupient's auto dealer off 394 and Louisiana. I like this place better than Jiffy Lube, it's reasonably priced at $25, and no appt necessary (though you can make one online). They are open Saturdays from 9am-1pm, and if you want to drop your car off outside business hours, they have a drop box where you can fill out what service your car needs, when you'll be back, and just leave your keys. I used the drop box feature, but I strongly recommend calling them to make sure your car is done before you go to pick it up...someone forgot to check the drop box and missed my request so I ended up waiting. Since I had time to kill, I roamed around the office and the lot. Two interesting tid bits. Ladies, if you have time to take your car over on Monday mornings, they give free manicures while you wait! And I found my dream car: limited edition Infiniti G37 hard top convertible coupe with red leather interior. Only 200 were made in the whole country. Man, I would look so cute driving that beauty. All for the bargain base price of $55,000...I'm only $54,500 and a total reassessment of my values away from affording it. read more

I bring my 2002 Saturn Vue to Lupient for service. I used to bring it across the street to the now-closed Saturn dealership. I enjoy the high level of service I receive from Lupient. I feel like they take the time to to check my Saturn, and they are not pushy about service or service add-ons. Yesterday I brought my car in because a light was on. They diagnosed the problem as not serious and took care of it, and then they found another problem which they let me know about, giving me the option to repair it or not. I chose to repair it, and have my car aligned at the same time. My car runs well now. I plan on keeping this car for some time yet, and I like having a knowledgeable place for repairs since the car is no longer made. read more

I would give Erik in the service department 5 stars and everyone else 0. Erik, if you're reading this you're too good for this place! I bought a 2008 Ford Edge from here. It started breaking down not even a month after I purchased it. I hadn't even put 1,000 miles on it. The dash would go blank and the car would dramatically slow down and I wouldn't be able to accelerate back to speed. I brought it in the first time, they cleared some codes and gave it back to me. It happened again, they found a transmission issue said it would cost me about $720. I refused to pay for it and asked that they let me out of my contract. The transmission fix would not have fixed the dash issue. After not being able to get a hold of anyone other than Erik for three days, I finally emailed the GM, Tim, and he called me right away. Tim offered me $250 towards the transmission issue and said it was my fault for buying a 12 year old vehicle and he did not owe me anything. I told him that I know he did not owe me anything, but I thought he might feel some incentive to make it right as he is the one who sold me the 12 year-old death machine to a seven month pregnant woman. Then left me without a car for 3 days while they "diagnosed" it and charged me for the service even though Erik asked them not to. For real, Erik you got to get out of there! My brother also bought a vehicle from them and it had motor issues. He had the warranty on it and they told him to drive it until it failed so the warranty would cover it, which is ridiculous, but he did it. Then they kept his car for over a month and refused to cover it. This dealership does not care about the quality or safety of their vehicles or their customers. read more

With all of the places to buy a car you think there would be an urgency to make sure the customer was happy, especially when it is small issue for the dealer and quite frankly their fault. Taking used cars out for test drives one notices that the floor mats are replaced with plastic to protect the mats from getting dirty during test drives, this is a good idea. I was told some really obvious things like "the bed is in really condition" the side mirrors have turn signals in them" "the truck is really clean". I can see all of that with my own eyes, I was never told one negative thing, normal for car sales people. One is left to find the negatives on their own, again, normal car sales stuff. Here is the problem they took the floor mats out, normal, and when I took delivery on the vehicle there were no floor mats. Salesman was of no help, again pointed out a positive. Called the sales manager, ended up being the new car sales manager, he was not willing to find a solution. I ordered new floor mats online knowing they were not going provide me a solution. Called the used car manager and no real solution offered. I suggested some free oil changes to make things right, he was appalled at the suggestion. Left message with the GM but I am not holding my breath. Something as simple as finding a way to make the customer happy and they fail!!!! If you're a woman, DO NOT GO HERE. If you're a man, ask as many questions as you can! I took my 2002 pontiac sunfire here because I heard it's better to go to a dealership than a local shop. However, time and time again I have been disappointed. I've been going here for over a year and the pleasant atmosphere the dealership portrays is a huge facade to cover up their scamming service people, in my opinion. If a place seems too good to be true, it is. For one, the mechanic broke the oil cap when I got an oil change, and when I went somewhere else to get it changed, they told me to take the car back to Lupient. I did so, and the mechanic was very brusk with me, saying it wasn't their fault the cap was stripped. I made an appointment to bring the sunfire in on May 24, 2012 because the brakes were grinding. I brought it in at 9 AM. At 1PM I called to check in and they still did not know what was wrong. Finally, at 3:30 they had an answer. I needed new brake pads and rotors in the front and it would be $360. That seemed a little steep to me, and being a woman I suspected it was just another service consultant trying to rip me off. I had my father call Dennis Bouta about the problem. My dad asked why Dennis didn't give me the option of aftermarket parts and Dennis explained he never recommends them because GM parts come with a 1 year warranty. My dad dug a little further and Dennis admitted the aftermarket parts also come with a 1 year warranty and would have been about half the cost of the GM parts. when my dad asked Dennis to use the aftermarket parts, Dennis said the work was already done, even though it had only been 30 minutes since I spoke with him. My dad pulled some springs and somehow Dennis agreed to use the aftermarket parts. Obviously they use aftermarket parts on some vehicles because they did happen to have them in stock. Dennis is just tryin' to make more money...and he would've were it not for my father!! I feel so ripped off and will never return to this place. It's pathetic that it's 2012 and men are still so sexist. The woman at the service counter who takes the bills is AMAZING, as is the man who shines shoes, but that is where it stops.
