I was worried that it would take more than the 1 1/2 hours that I was quoted for. When I checked in with the service person, I specifically said that I have an appointment at 10 am and needed to leave as soon as the key fob is ready. Lo and behold, come 11:15 and I'm still waiting in the lobby. I checked with another service staff and they don't know where my car is. Waited another 15 mins before the service manager found my car. At this point, I missed my appointment, was so pissed that the ghettoness in me came out, and I didn't even want to look at these people. They didn't value my time. I didn't expect to be there beyond the hour and a half. I could have made other arrangements. No amount of excuses or apologies are accepted. read more

I'm absolutely outraged at how Maplewood Toyota handled what should have been a simple fix. After losing my key fob with the chip, I towed the car in, bought a replacement, and eventually found the original key that worked. Yet when I returned during my lunch break, demanding they simply test the key and return my car if it worked, they refused because "the technician wasn't there." No actual diagnostics were needed--just a test drive! I had to involve a manager since they were treating me dismissively, dragged the process out to try and make me late, and still charged me for diagnostics, even though nothing was wrong with the car. Too bad I have a great employer who understood. They tried to steal time and money from me, for absolutely no valid reason. This is fraud, plain and simple. read more

I've generally had okay service here. Not great, but not terrible. The place is fine for waiting and they wash the car. Today's experience was not good. I had an oil change on my truck, and when I got home, there was a screw in my tire. Pretty sure it happened while at the dealer, because the screw looked like a screw you see in a wheel well. I suppose it could have happened on the drive home. Yes, that's possible. Well what do you think the jackasses said when I brought it back? Do you think they said, wow, that's too bad. We understand that it may have happened here, and we're sorry. Nope! I would have even been okay if they would have said, our policy is that we can't repair tires after a vehicle has left the shop. But instead, I had to listen to the service manager talk about the probability and the amount of surface area the tires covered and how the shop is clean. Well my driveway is clean too, jerk. Deny, deny, deny. So I paid the $30 for them to fix my tire, but I will not be spending the $1500 to get my next set of new tires there. read more

This place used to be good--but that was back in the day when I had friends/peers working here. I usually try to support local businesses whenever possible, but maybe that's not always the best option when you want quality service. Within a year, this place has let me down on two different occasions. Several months ago, I ordered some touch-up paint for my car. It took quite a number of business days to come in, which I understand. But the issue started when I received a call in the morning from a staff member in the parts department informing me that my order was ready for pickup. I told them I would be there after 5 p.m. once I got off work. When I arrived, the young kid at the counter was completely clueless about how to locate my online order. I even printed off the confirmation number with the part number, including a picture of the product. He said no one had mentioned anything to him about an online order being ready for pickup, but that he would go in the back to check. He came back less than a minute later and told me he was sorry, but nothing was there for me. I then pulled up the voicemail I had received. He looked perplexed, walked into the back again, came back a minute later, and said he still didn't see anything. He told me it would be best to come back in the morning when a manager would be on duty. I left upset. I didn't leave a review at the time because I thought it was a one-time situation, so I let it go. Now fast forward to today, 03/24/2026. I had scheduled service for my car to get repairs done due to a pretty serious recall for my make and model. This appointment was made online over a month ago. I had originally scheduled it for the first week of May, but since the snow had cleared up recently, I decided to cancel that and reschedule for 03/24/2026 at 7 a.m. The slot was open, and I entered all my concerns in the appointment details. On top of that, I even called to speak to someone to make sure we were all set as far as parts availability for this recall repair. I was forwarded to a service manager. He looked over the recall and told me that for something like this, most parts would be readily available in-house, and only in very rare cases would anything need to be special-ordered. He didn't seem concerned. Sure enough, I showed up at 7 a.m. A service employee checked my vehicle in and said it would be quite a wait if I wanted to stick around, and that there were no rental cars available at the moment. I had to be at work by 9 a.m., so I got myself an Uber. About two hours later, I received a call from a different service manager named Miguel. He apologized and told me the parts needed for my recall repair were not in stock, and I would have to reschedule while they ordered them. He said it could take days... weeks... maybe even a month. He also mentioned that he was the only one there familiar with my make and model as well as the parts needed for it. That didn't make me feel any better. At that point, I was livid. I felt like I couldn't even trust these guys, who are supposed to be the best option for your Toyota. You would think these parts would have already been ordered, given that my original appointment was scheduled well in advance. Instead, it turned into a complete waste of a day. I ended up paying $30 for an Uber ride and had no solution to come back to at the end of my work shift. Who wouldn't be upset? The service manager apologized and said that when the parts do come in, he'll make sure a rental car is ready for me at no charge. I didn't have the energy to argue or complain, but I know very well that when you get your car serviced in-house, rentals are already free and complimentary (given availability). So I was basically being offered something that's already standard. That does nothing for me. I'm just done. Like I said, there was a time when this Maplewood location was solid in terms of customer service--but good things don't always last. It's sad to say, but I'll be driving further out to a different Toyota dealership for this service. I'm just exhausted at this point. read more

Not realizing he knowingly PHUCKED me, I praised him. There was laughter in the background. Parts guys at Toyota dealerships have all the information. Customers, like me, have very little and need to comb the internet for data. Once I did, I found out the parts guy lied to me. I suggest you never do business with Maplewood Toyota. My question was weird, I needed to know details about a part for a proposed seat swap between a 2015 XLE model and a Limited model. I've purchased vehicles here, and also several maintenance contracts. With my last contract I was misinformed regarding what would be covered. Although the Service Manager at the time agreed I was misinformed by an employee, they were not able to refund my money. Now I was told, with two service appointments left on the contract, that it had expired. Last time I was in for service I was never told this would happen, only when I called today to make an appointment. I paid for the contract, with a set number of appointments. Why should this expire with the services I paid for not being completed? Communication with this organization has been terrible, and customer service is seriously lacking. I will not be returning nor will I recommend them to anyone. I've heard from other customers similar things occurring to them as well. Brought my wife's car (bought at Maplewood Toyota) here for what should have been a simple oil change and tire rotation and ended up with a tire stem leaking like a fire hose. The stem was not leaking when I brought it in and was completely loose after (other shop said the sensor was broken off in the tire). I never asked them to look at the stem, let alone try to fix it. I was told that the stem was seized but the manager said they must have misspoke because they would never do work without permission (they never asked until AFTER telling me it was seized). Took it elsewhere to fix because I do not trust their work and they charge FOUR TIMES what other places do for this stem/sensor. They refuse to admit they messed with the stem but can't explain why I was told (and the paperwork says) that the stem is seized without having manipulated it. read more

On May 27th 2025 I called Maplewood Toyota service department to make an appointment because my sunroof is leaking and it will not close all the way. This was supposedly repaired about 2 and 1/2 weeks ago which is a complete utter lie. It worked for only 2 weeks and now it is broken once again. So I called to try and get an appointment at Maplewood Toyota to get this repaired. Yet again Maple Toyota refuse to get me in, in a timely manner and expects me to leave my car outside because I don't have a garage and my car roof leaks. Mind you it's also been raining just about daily. I refuse to do this. I have garbage bags all over the roof of my car because I simply don't have a sunroof that shuts all the way. This is completely unacceptable. I am currently out shopping for a new vehicle. I will never ever ever suggest a Toyota vehicle for anyone, especially never having to deal with Maplewood Toyota. They refuse to get you in in a timely manner and clearly the service department doesn't know what they're doing because they don't know how to repair things properly because otherwise this wouldn't be happening to me. I wonder how many other people they have screwed and ripped off. I am beyond upset! As far as I'm concerned Toyota can just come and pick up this crap car. Well I did it, I've saved enough, researched a lot, and purchased a new Vehicle. 2020 Rav4 Toyota Hybrid. This experience has taught me a lot, and took a lot out of me. For the 2 weeks it took me to call around, and figure out which dealership I was going with I didn't eat much or sleep well. The stress was horrible. While I don't completely blame the two dealerships I had been going back and forth with for these feelings. I do wish they didn't see a 1st time buyer as fresh meat. Because it felt like it, and made the experience that much more difficult. In the end, I only chose this place over the other because of where it was located. No other reason. The dealer wasn't horrible, but wasn't personable. They also put down the wrong pricing and if I hadn't looked at the paperwork closely, I would have ended up paying a lot more, which is more commission for the dealer. I had to go back the next day to get it corrected. I had called ahead and they new i was coming and what time, but they still made me wait for almost a half an hour which again isn't horrible, but not great customer service. Would I buy another vehicle from here? That isn't something I can know right now, would I recommend this place? Not when it comes to a personal accept, but again if you are getting the best deal, why not. Overall, I'm just glad I don't have to buy a new vehicle for the next 10 years or so. lol read more

Three weeks after the purchase, he still answered my questions and recently sent me extra copies of the warranty documents.  Taylor Mickesh helped me with everything from arranging an independent car inspection to transporting the car from Minnesota to Colorado. Taylor was the best person I've ever worked with in any capacity. He would have my vote if he ever ran for public office; he had my trust from the beginning. During the process, Tailor texted me many times a day. He answered all my questions, and if he didn't know the answer, he found out. Taylor was kind, patient, and gracious. No question was too small--he checked on everything and made me feel great about my decision. Taylor ensured the transport went smoothly, and my car arrived in terrific condition. I have been taking my '03 Prius for service at this dealership for 15 years. They do an awesome job! They are fair in my opinion. Today, I had an engine light alert issue and there was no charge for me to do the analysis. The staff members at this business are very customer oriented. They keep you informed. I was texted by the technician while I sat in the lobby as to the status of my car. I was able to make an appointment on line and they also have a chat function that is very good. All in all, this dealership as to the service is excellent. I know that many dealerships have a reputation for overcharging for service compared to a focused auto maintenance business but this is not one of them. This business also has a multi cultural staff which I also appreciate. They have free coffee and cookies while you wait. Free wifi and work stations. Bring your laptop if you are waiting. Just got my tundra back from the Maplewood Toyota Dealer. Went in for the frame recall. I wasn't too impressed with the corrosion spray job they did. It looks like they didn't bothered to tape anything off before spraying the chemical. It was all over my shocks, struts, and vehicle. Even missing a few spots i believed. They didn't even bother cleaning the chemical off my windshield prior to me picking up my truck. Now i can't get the damn chemical off my windshield wipers, had to buy new ones. I would say it was a damn shitty job done by whoever did the job. Called them but they said nothing could've got on my windshield because everything was sprayed under my truck. read more

They did not replace the marker light. My husbands Toyota Prius was having all sorts of trouble: the dashboard stopped lighting up & it felt like the battery had died even though we just swapped it out. Granted we drove this little thing all the way up from Texas and it was definitely not intended for an Mn winter but here we are! When we got there, even more issues arose when we couldn't turn the car off!! Everyone in the service department was so incredibly friendly, they assured us they could help and get us on our way. While we waited (enjoying ample Milano cookies btw), they came in to give us regular updates & was able to help get the Prius to turn off, replaced the hybrid battery (we only changed out the regular battery) and offered to keep the car overnight to figure out the dashboard issue. My husband was able to google some workarounds and so we decided we would just drive it home and behold he was able to troubleshoot the last problem. The staff is friendly however they don't like to answer phones. I tried calling an hour prior to my appointment only to be left on hold until the automated receptionist hung up. Then when they texted me to let me know my vehicle was ready they didn't answer again until the 2nd time, after being on hold for 5 minutes again and hung up on by the automated receptionist. Instead of taking the shuttle I ended up walking in the rain halfway back until someone finally answered after my repeated calls. Then I had to wait another 10 minutes for the shuttle to drive less than a mile away to get me. If it wasn't raining I could have easily made it back in less time by crawling. I don't know much about cars but I'm assuming the vehicle was serviced correctly. read more

What a difference 7 years makes. We were a little reluctant to go back to Maplewood Toyota because service wise, not every experience as been stellar, but hey, everybody has off days. We were in need of another vehicle and decided to go back to Maplewood Toyota. Our car has been a trooper so we were confident another Toyota was the answer. Did an internet quote and an online credit application and then went it and was introduced to "Bones"- probably one of the most charming, friendly, outgoing and genuine sales guys I have ever encountered. What a breath of fresh air. I would recommend and use him for every single future purchase. What a great guy and what a great personality. He explains everything, is conscience of your needs and goes out of his way to help make the experience a good one. I wish we would have had him the last time we bought. Mark the sales manager and Seth the finance guy also absolutely wonderful to deal with. So personable. Showroom is nice and clean. My experience is based only on coming in for service one time. The short version is that I felt it was a waste of my time and it seems like I will regret coming back. The longer version is that I purchased a brand new Camry from a different Toyota dealer, much farther away from my house than Maplewood, for reasons that aren't important for this review. But that new Camry had an issue - it was giving me an alert about the tire pressure system about a third of the time I'd start the car. This is, again, a brand new car. It should be flawless. An email exchange with the original dealer confirmed that there clearly is a warranty-covered issue afoot, one which any Toyota dealer would be obliged to fix. So I brought it to Maplewood Toyota for an unscheduled visit, and after a once-over and a little experimentation they found nothing wrong. They suggested I call them back if the tire pressure alert came up again. Which it did about 30 minutes after I left Maplewood Toyota. They said I could make an appointment for them to inspect it thoroughly, but they didn't know how long it would take and they wouldn't give me a loaner vehicle to use in the meantime. My original dealer has my Camry now, and they've been puzzling over it for three days. I'm very glad I haven't had to sit in Maplewood Toyota's lobby for three days. I don't trust that this place will be good at helping me and I intend to avoid it. read more

Maplewood Toyota replaced the Engine Coil and Spark plugs for my vehicle. They offered a free wash since we are dropping off the car for the $280.00 repair. Complaint #1 Checking in process took 20 minutes. Customer Service was very focused on getting the vehicles checked in and less on greeting customers. I had a 7:30 am Appointment. Complaint #2 When picking up the vehicle, I was concerned and wanted to know if they guaranteed their repairs. I waited for a manager to come out and confirm they do guarantee their repairs. Complaint #3 Upon walking up to the vehicle, we noticed there was damage to the door frame and door that were not there when we dropped off the vehicle. We were told to go back inside and we waited 15 minutes for someone to come take photos of the damage. No apologies No Managers were available. One should always tell the customer if they damage the vehicle of a customer regardless of how small. It's unacceptable that they just said nothing. A week later we never heard from a manager. No one cared to call us. We contacted out insurance to subrogate to get the repairs completed and go after the dealership for the cost to repair the door frame and door. From looking at the damage, we are guessing the Maplewood Toyota car wash malfunctioned and hit the vehicle repeatedly. read more

Approximately 4 weeks ago we misplaced our set of keys for our 2006 sequoia.  We only had the one key so I called up to maplewood toyota to see what the cost would be for a 2 keys and a remote.  They looked up my vehicle by the vin number as it had previously been there and told me that they'd have to order the clicker and it would be in early the following week.  It was late in the week and it was parked in our driveway so not a huge deal to wait a couple days.  Due to losing the last master key there was an additional programming charge on top of the regular programming charge and I was told something just shy of $340 for 2 keys, programming, and a key fob.  This was quoted by Troy Larson who I believe is an assistant service manager. The next week I called in to check on the remote and they said they had it in stock and I'd have to have the vehicle towed in for them to program the keys and remote since we no longer had the master.  They once again confirmed the price and I paid to have it towed from my driveway up to them.   Once my vehicle was up there the assistant service manager called me and told me that they hadn't realized the year of the vehicle and that the repair cost would actually be over $1200 because they would have to replace a module since we didn't have a master key.  Now keep in mind they looked it up by the vin number to order the key fob the prior week and in every conversation I referred to it as an 06 sequoia.  They told me it would be approx $340 atleast twice in the past including on a voicemail.  Now that I had spent money to get it towed up to them the price went up 4 fold.  Maybe it was an honest mistake, maybe it wasnt.  Long story short now that I was looking at a $1200 repair I started looking into my other options and I found a local locksmith that reflashed the module and cut me two new keys for $285.   I'd used maplewood toyota in the past for a handful of service work not a ton, but when I went to a dealer I went to them for both of our toyota vehicles.  I will not be going back.  The excuse that they didnt know the year of the vehicle was completely bogus and they either clearly are not experts on toyotas or they bait and switched me and got me to tow my vehicle up there before quadrupling the price.  In my last conversation I told Troy I felt like they owed me the towing fee. I have not seen a check show up for the tow and I have not been contacted about it. read more

This is the SO nice review: Every time I take my Sienna minivan for an oil change or a checkup of some sort I rent a car for $35. I drive in the garage, hand them my key, tell them what to do, pick which fancy car I want for the day and off I go within ten minutes! The guy who takes the car; So nice (Jeff I think) The guy who brings my rental around; is SO nice. The guy who calls to tell me what's up with my van is SO nice. The always call within the hour and tell me my car is ready...I keep the car for the day and love it!
