    steak and eggs
    Tony Y.

Wow, this might be my favorite bite of the year. I fell in love with literally everything here. My two favorite dishes were the steak and eggs and the cornmeal mochi pancake. I don't usually get scrambled eggs, but this was so velvety and soft, it was heaven sent. the steak was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The pancake was also very pillowy and had an amazing chewy to it. No syrup is needed. Also, didn't leave here without mentioning the hash brown. it was also amazing, get one if you can! Service was phenomenal. The restaurant isn't necessarily the biggest, and a wait is to be expected. But boy, i can't stress enough how good the beer is.

We came early for breakfast/brunch. There are only 3 outdoor tables (we brought a dog) so we didn't want to have to wait. All outdoor tables were rotatingly occupied with people with doggy, so much doggy love in dt Alhambra! The staffs were nice and friendly. Immediately offered doggy bowl for my golden & provided plate, bowl, tiny utensil for my toddler. Inside is nice, spacious, have great vibe & decor, and bathroom is clean. I got the set meal with chicken. Everything was tasty. Chimichurri not very strong and provided great flavor overall. My toddler likes simple but tasty flavors. The portion isn't overly big (normal eating size). We shared the mochi pancakes for the table. It's huge, thin, yummy. My toddler loves it. Great finger food for him & taste even better with the house-made whipped cream. Light, airy, and not overly sweet. Blueberry was plump and fresh. The hubby got the breakfast plate with hangar steak. The scrambled is soft scramble. Steak was nicely cooked, that's about the only thing I tried. He devoured everything else without sharing, so I'm guessing it was good. Our niece got the sesame noodles with chicken. It came in a big plate (probably because it's on the shareable menu). She immediately said it was good. So, pretty much you can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

I'll be honest, this place didn't look that amazing from the photos but I'm so glad I gave it a try. It is a fusion restaurant between Asian and American breakfast and brunch, although it felt more Asian Italian fusion. We ordered: Cold crab noodles - it is cold but despite that, it has amazing flavor Dan dan noodles - 10/10 very flavorful. I love the el dente noodles and the peanut sauce was thick and coated the noodles well Pork jowl cha siu - 8/10 the sauce was delicious but a bit on the slaty side so went well with our cold crab noodles. The meat was very very tender and so good, but I just wished that half of it hadn't been fat. Secret potatoes - 10/10 very delicious. Highly recommend this as part of your order. I probably could've ordered a bowl for myself if I was still hungry The servers were very friendly and always made sure we were doing ok. They were helpful in helping us select from the menu and were attentive in taking away our dirty plates. Parking was too hard as there are parking areas behind the building as well as the structure across the street. They had a small outdoor seating area which was perfect as we had our dogs with us while we enjoyed the our meal.

Stopped by for brunch after having this place bookmarked for the longest. The wait wasn't too bad, I was able to join the waitlist before leaving the house, cutting my wait time down to 25mins when I arrived. I ordered the Breakfast Plate with the Grass-fed Hanger Steak as protein and a Yang's Set Meal with the Yuzu Miso Salmon. Both were mediocre, considering the price. Understandably, everything is sourced locally, but flavor wise didn't meet my expectations. The Breakfast Plate with Grass-fed Hanger Steak: The steak had a nice chimichurri sauce, but was extremely chewy. Wished everything was also salted a bit more, the entire dish was bland. The Yang's Set Meal with Yuzu Miso Salmon: The fish was seasoned well but for the price, I thought I would've had a slightly bigger piece. The rice was also on the harder side. Overall, I think it was still a good experience trying out this cute spot. Perhaps the dinner options would be better for me personally, will probably be back to give dinner a try.

Service: We joined the waitlist remotely and was given a 70-110 minute wait estimate. We ran some errands while waiting and I missed the text that our table was almost ready. Once I caught it I called them to let them know I missed the message and that we're still interested in dining. They were extremely accommodating and made sure we had a table when we arrived. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly we had a wonderful experience with the team. I also noticed they explained the ingredients in each dish they brought out which was such an elevated experience. Parking: plenty of parking in the lot behind the store and street parking. Food: we ordered the breakfast plate and the yang's set meal, both incredible options. The pickled veggies were so fresh it was my fav. We also ordered the mochi pancake wish was amazing with the entrees.

I came to Yang's Kitchen for brunch and left really impressed with both the food and service. The cold sesame noodles are a must-order, especially if you're dining with a group. The noodles are firm with a great bite, and the mix of veggies adds a lot of texture. The sesame sauce is creamy, nutty, and earthy without being too heavy. The Yang's set menu is a great way to try a little bit of everything. The house pickles were crunchy and tangy, a perfect palate cleanser. The soy egg had a gooey center and was packed with flavor. The hanger steak stood out. It has a slightly coarse texture but is still tender and juicy, and the chimichurri adds a bright, tangy balance that ties everything together. The breakfast plate was also solid--crispy hash browns, nicely runny eggs, and a super tender, juicy chicken thigh. Everything was well-seasoned and balanced, so you can enjoy it as-is without needing to tweak anything. Don't skip dessert. The cornmeal mochi pancake is massive but surprisingly light and thin, with a chewy, slightly grainy texture. The cream, blueberries, and condensed milk pair well, though honestly it doesn't even need the extra sweetness. We also tried the passion fruit vanilla swirl soft serve, which was creamy, rich, and not overly sweet. Service was great and the food came out quickly. There's plenty of parking in nearby lots and behind the restaurant, which is a huge plus. It is on the pricier side, with most dishes ranging from $15-$20, but the quality makes it worth it.

Yum! Everything was hearty and good! The chicken was super tender, the sauce on it was good, the eggs were perfection, and the hash brown was crispy! A bit of a wait on a Sunday afternoon but we walked to the farmers market down the street to kill some time. Yummy food just a bit in the pricier end

Yang's is such a great place for a fancy lunch or date night! They have free parking and it's shared with the other neighboring businesses. They are a popular place so I do recommend making reservations in advance. Staff were very informative and attentive. I love the ambiance when dining in the evening as they dim the lights and have the led lights on each table. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their dishes. All were flavorful, intentional and plated beautifully. My favorite would be the chicken liver mousse since it's like a mini charcuterie board. I liked the pairing of savory with the sweet apple jam.

Have been wanting to try this for a while and finally had the chance to try! Cuisine is asian fusion. I find their fusion definitely more Asian leaning than western flavors, which I enjoyed. Service is great. They check you throughout the night and offer some great recommendations from each section of the menu. Definitely make reservations for dinner. We went on a Friday night and the place was packed. Indoor decor is more on the minimalistic side for sure. They have 3 outdoor tables as well. Dog friendly, definitely a plus. Dungeness crab cold noodle 5/5 - so delicious! I loved the shallot oil base and those crunchy fried shallots give the al dente pasta such a good bite! Smoked pork jowl cha siu 3/5 - a little bit too fatty for my taste. Feels kind of like a bbq rather than cha siu. Interesting but definitely not our favorite. Secret potatoes 10/5 - that chili cumin butter is SO DELICIOUS. Crispy potatoes. We wanted to take the sauce home after we ate the potatoes. Definitely my favorite dish of the night. Dan Dan Campanella 6/5 - really flavorful, not too spicy but the Al dente Campanelle makes the dish taste shine because of the bite of the pasta. 2nd favorite of the night. Vanilla soft serve - 4/5 really light ice cream to finish out the meal but nothing too special. We wanted to try the black sesame cake with the whiskey but they were sold out! Guess we have to come back. Overall great meal, great flavors and wonderful service. Will definitely come back and try the brunch menu in the near future!

WHEN: Mon @12pm COLD SESAME NOODLES - $18 + Pastured chicken breast ($14) + Avocado ($2.50) Ferrazzani's organic spaghetti, house sesame sauce, cucumbers, pickled carrots, crushed peanuts, cilantro, scallion, house chili crisp. Such a refreshing and shareable dish. When it doubt, just include all the add-on! Flavors are good, and I'm sure it was good as leftovers too. CORNMEAL MOCHI PANCAKE - $18 Heirloom blue cornmeal, Koda Farms mochiko rice flour, organic whipped cream, seasonal toppings, organic condensed milk. Wow, such a wonderfully unique pancake! While it's thin, it has a subtle texture of the cornmeal and the slight chewiness of the mochi. This is a must order and it's huge. Not too sweet as well (you get a side of condensed milk! I liked that it came with a huge plop of whipped cream and blueberries. BREAKFAST PLATE - $28 Two farm fresh eggs, house made hash browns, seasonal Farmers Market greens, choice of protein: Grass-fed hanger steak, and house made scallion ranch sauce. This plate's price varies depending on your choice of protein. Now you know how fresh your eggs are when they are hecka orange. I had mine scrambled and I like that it's soft. The hash browns were thoroughly enjoyed because of its level of crispiness and cube-like shape. The steak was tender, juicy, and well flavored thanks to the sauce on top. This breakfast plate felt healthy since it comes with a side of salad. This place is busy and clearly popular. I enjoyed everything!

First time visiting, we were surprised to find a fine dining Asian fusion restaurant in Alhambra. They had beautiful, elegant decor & attentive, friendly service. The menu was pricey but the food was delicious, fresh, farm-to-table with sustainable ingredients. They have many gluten free options. We enjoyed everything we ordered: Market Salad, Secret Potatoes, Yang's Fried Chicken Wings, 'Hainan' Fish Rice, Braised Duck Leg. There's limited outdoor & indoor seating so make sure you make reservations. There's free parking in the back, on the street & several parking garages near by.

Sausage patty, scrambled eggs, sesame toast, hash brown, and greens (one chicken wing on the side)
    Danny C.

This place serves some dope food. The wings are whole and taste just like your classic Cantonese Chinese style fried chicken, but so much cleaner. I wish the hash brown were more spread out so that more surface area touched the griddle. The interior was pretty mushy, but I enjoyed my eggs and sausage patty quite a bit. You can't go wrong with the sesame toast, and did I mention the cornmeal pancake? While it's not worth an $18 price tag, it is dang tasty. Soft, yet cornmeal crunchy, and when you throw some cream and blueberries on that thing, look out! Be prepared to wait as the interior isn't very large, and also note that they put a lot of time and care into your dishes so it'll take a while before food comes out too. We will definitely return!

Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Yang's kitchen! We ordered the steelhead belly tartar, braised duck leg with taro and the Hainan fish rice! All of these dishes tasted amazing. Our personal favorite was the Hainan fish rice; it's a must order. The rice and fish were buttery and flavorful. The ginger scallions sauce added another dimension to it and the pickled cucumbers that came with it were well marinated. The braised duck leg with taro was also pretty good! The taro was interesting, it reminded me of mashed potatoes with gravy. The duck was tender but tasted more like a chicken leg, but also didn't taste gamey either. The steelhead belly fish tartar was delicious! It's honestly such a small appetizer but the steelhead belly was fatty and blended well with the rice cracker. Service was excellent. The servers there were attentive and made sure that we always had our glasses refilled and that we received new plates. The restaurant is on the smaller end, with limited seating so I envision it gets pretty packed during peak dining hours. The restaurant is on the pricier end for a meal but it's a worth a try and is perfect for date night! Would recommend. Will be coming back to try their brunch menu!

The kalua pig was so good, juicy a little smoke good umami. The eggs were cooked over easy just as we asked. Portion size left me with leftovers. Coming back for loco moco and lau lau next. Been eating island food for 35 years and outside of a couple aunties kitchens this is the best Hawaiian food I had in good while!

We stopped by here based on reviews and YouTube videos with perhaps too high expectations. I would…read moresay that we were somewhat disappointed. I ordered the Kalua pig and added the Portuguese Sausage. My guest ordered the macadamia pancakes. The Kalua pig was SALTY! Borderline non edible. The Portuguese Sausage was ok but was a tad on the salty side too. The macaroni salad was ok but was a bit too sweet. The macadamia pancake was a massive amount of vanilla custard with a stingy amount of macadamia nut sprinkled on it. If you love massive amounts of custard, then this is for you. Unfortunately the custard did not compliment the pancakes but rather overwhelmed them. I have a favorite Hawaiian food spot in Lawndale and will make the trip as it is definitely worth it.

On my last visit, I sat at the bar with my husband. He ordered the breakfast sandwich, and I had the Mediterranean eggs. We both wolfed down our food, but the sandwich was way too small. It looked like it was on a grocery store hamburger bun. As my husband is 6'4", he shared the rest of my meal with me. The Mediterranean eggs were so delicious. The spicy labneh is the bomb. Also loved the little salad with pickled onions. Service wasn't bad. They were definitely packed and we waited about 10 minutes before finding seating. It was also really warm in there because it's open to the outdoors in the back. I've not been in the summer yet, but I hope they do something to cool the place when it's over 80 degrees. Wait staff were generally friendly and helpful. it was a nice time overall. They just need a bit more with the sandwich, like maybe a side salad or different bread. But I always enjoy coming because it's so lively and the food and drinks are yummy. :)

I'm so disappointed in this restaurant it used to be my family's favorite spot for drinks! I'm not…read moresure what happened, but service now is absolutely awful. I been here 3x this month alone & I've sat at the bar on all three occasions. 1st. We were recommended french fries with our espresso martinis which hello why say no but I kid you not our food was sitting on the counter (where the food comes out) for more than 15 minutes before our server at the bar gave it to us. I had to ask them (they were talking to 3 different servers the entire time) to grab them for us lol thankfully, it was just french fries. And mind you, the fries were the only thing out so obviously they were ours. It was not busy. 2nd time I went it took extremely long for someone to come and take our order mind you there was like two people at the bar, including myself and a friend and about 3 to 4 servers behind the bar, talking to a customer and their dog, touching the dog petting the dog (gross) and overall distracted we called them over like 3 times and I swear we were being ignored! Took them over 10mins just to get us water not even counting the drinks we asked for! 3rd time I went, I know you're probably thinking why do you keep going back if their service is so bad but I'm not kidding when I said I used to love this spot. Any who I ordered food and saw with my own two eyes the food runner, wipe her sweat fix her hair and touch the food not wash her hands and not run a single thing...It was as though she was just hired to stare at the food... lol we sent it back and asked them to remove it from our bill which they did. Each and every time I go these days the service staff look like they can't be bothered and are always talking amongst themselves, which is fine but at least take my order and not make me wait 20+ minutes for some water and drinks while you're getting your chat on with people you see every day... I feel so bad saying this, but they should definitely reevaluate their protocols because the ambience this whole thing gave off was not good. I was embarrassed to say the least when my friend said he hated the recommendation. Ugh .
