Huevos rancheros with rice and beans

I want classic restaurant Mexican food. This place didn't disappoint. The servings are large and the food was quick. I ordered huevos rancheros and chile rellenos. The egg dish was good not great but hit the spot. The chile rellenos were good too. I preferred them and were large for the price point. The staff was friendly and even gave me some chips to go with my meal. I didn't eat there but the place looked clean and tidy.

I went to try this hidden place, I couple of friends told me that they didn't like the food but I didn't believe it so I had to go and taste with my own mouth Place is totally worth it I got some tacos, chicharrón de queso, chilaquiles, bistec à la mexicana and everything was delicious, I have gone back a couple of times and everything is delicious every Service is great and the ambiance I love it very family oriented

Stopped here after moving my son into his dorm at CSULA. Food was really good, hot and fresh. Prices weren't bad. We noticed they have great specials that will come in handy while my son is at school there. The restaurant is spacious. Comfortable. The service was nice. The lady that served us was very attentive. We'll definitely be back when visiting him.

Haven't been back in 5 years since moving away. Was back in the area and stopped in. Ordered my usual cheese enchiladas. Nice to find that the presentation and flavors are still as delicious as they were before. They serve their chips with bottles of homemade salsa which is a great idea. You can apply I individually to each chip as you eat it, or douse all the chips at one! Definitely try the green salsa--it tastes like avocado and salsa! Also had the agua de melon and it was perfectly sweetened. I have to get back more often.

Came here once so far. We were happy with the meal and service. Wife felt like the green salsa on the enchiladas was very watery. It was still alright though. I had queso fundido. I love cheese so this was good. Will probably be back some day to try more menu items.

Incredibly friendly service, delicious, authentic Mexican food and great prices. Would come back here if ever in the area. I enjoyed the different salsas and chiclet too!

1). Steak n egg breakfast: 3 1/2 star Riced is very tasty. Steak is thin but flavorful. 2). Caldo/beef soup: 3-star It was more better in the past, yet Som how the taste is not as deep And they switched potato to Chayote, texture is weird. 3). Hot Chocolate: 3-star It's not sweet as what I requested, which is good thing, but the flavor is very limited. Server is very friendly and accommodate.

    Caldo de res. AMAZING!

This place has the best and attentive service. The food is prepared and cooked by the husband, wife and kids. The ambiance is very chill, you can listen to their tunes or have a conversation without that overly excessive music other restaurants have. I recommend you try their menudo. It's well made, not greasy. Their avocado salsa is AMAZING! I always get tacos so I can slather it all over and eat it. The pozole is very good, their enchiladas with pollo picado, their breakfast options are delicious. If you're thirty, they have beer, coffee and sodas. But they also have beer lol. Stop by and enjoy. You won't get disappointed.

Service was atrocious. Three people working and only two parties seated. It took forever for us to get our orders placed and d when we got our food, they messed up. Food was so basic. Definitely not worth getting their pozole or flautas. There is no taste to the food. Even the chips were very stale and their salsa was very spicy. It was pretty dark inside and a little dirty and it looked gross because there were boxes stacked on top of each other against the walls.

The food was delicious, it was well seasoned, great portions and super friendly staff. I will be back!

Our beef soup w rice and tortillas it was delicious.

If you want fresh, homemade, delicious food, Las Ranas cafe is for you! We were in the area visiting family and of course I used my trusty Yelp to help find a local place to grab some good eats. Thanks to y'all we ended up at Las Ranas Cafe. Parking is not the best but we worked it out. We walked in and were seated instantly. From the outside the place looked small but once in, we found a nice table that seated four comfortably and was super clean. We were welcomed warmly and our order was taken immediately. We ordered pozole, taquitos, burritos, and fries. They served complimentary chips and salsas. The food arrived 10-15 minutes after we ordered. And it was served warmly by the server and I think the chef of the restaurant. All tasted delicious! It was the perfect meal on a cold day. We definitely got our Mexican food fix in. I would strongly recommend this place if you're in the area!

The service was impeccable--everyone was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience feel special. We had to get the Michelada Oysters again because I had been craving them since our last visit. They were just as amazing as I remembered--fresh, perfectly seasoned, and seriously addicting. For Dine LA, I started with the Tostada Campechana, which was like an elevated ceviche with scallops, tuna, yellowtail, avocado, and a citrus sesame sauce. Everything tasted super fresh and the citrus gave it the perfect balance. The Bone Marrow Mole was rich, flavorful, and came with a generous portion and toast. For my main course, I had the skirt steak, which was cooked perfectly--tender, well-seasoned, and delicious with the green sauce. The homemade tortillas were amazing too. We ended with the Dulce de Leche Panna Cotta, and it was the perfect finish--creamy, smooth, not overly sweet, and so good we practically cleaned the plate. Amazing food, great portions, beautiful atmosphere, and excellent service. Ka'teen definitely delivered. I would absolutely come back again.

The menu had bunch of small and large plates, alongside lots alcoholic and N/A drinks. I ordered the Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail that almost tested like a smoothie. The fried calamari, corn, empanadas, short rib tostada and chicken taco, all were good dishes but none of them were mind blowing. Prices were mostly fair. The service was really good. While I am by no means a connoisseur of Oaxacan food, I am perplexed at the number of reviews raving about this restaurant. It's fine, there nothing wrong with the food, but I, personally, don't think it's rave worthy. I've been here 2x now. I recognized it from Season 1 of Nobody Wants This, and apparently seeing a restaurant on TV is all the encouragement I need to add another dinner reservation to the calendar. Parking in Los Feliz gave us a little pre-dinner challenge. A friend and I eventually went with valet, while another friend circled a few times before finding street parking. Consider this my future self taking notes: next time, Uber. Walking inside was probably my favorite first impression. Mírate unfolds across multiple levels with warm lighting, greenery, tucked-away lounge areas, and that huge tree in the middle of the courtyard. We were seated upstairs near the top of the stairs by the restroom, which gave us a view down into the main space. Admittedly, I spent a little time admiring the tables around the tree and understanding exactly why that area is such a draw. Something to aim for on a future visit. We ordered several dishes to share. Some of the starters were a little smaller than I expected, but there was plenty of flavor packed into them. The ribeye taco was one of my favorites, with Chihuahua cheese, salsa verde, and a little heat from the Yahualica chile. The octopus taco was right up there with it, paired with Chihuahua cheese, frijoles puercos, and pineapple pico that brought in a nice sweet-savory contrast. Both disappeared quickly, which is generally a good sign at our table. The cocktails were another highlight. Everyone ordered something different and there wasn't a disappointed person in the group. Our server checked in throughout the evening without hovering, which gave us plenty of time to eat, talk, and inevitably compare everyone's drink choices. By the end of dinner, I had already figured out my strategy for round two: Uber there, explore a little more of the cocktail menu, and see if we can snag one of those coveted tables near the tree. Even if we don't, I'd happily come back.
