Monday through Friday 11am to 5pm is $23/person ayce. Pretty good beef bulgogi Chicken bulgogi is ok, probably not worth it. Beef belly is normal. For the price this is a great spot! Especially comparing the quailty to a more expensive place I went to recently, I would gladly come here 4 times! The ambiance is large scale korean resturant, which the giant fans, lots of open seating and grills. We still smelled like smoke but wasn't as bad. And I like the ability to get my own side dishes anytime at the buffet. The robot is cute but not sure how useful it really is because the servers usually always grabbed it before the robot got close to people since it's slow lol. read more

Checked this KBBQ spot out during their weekday happy hour and honestly, it's one of the better deals I've come across lately. For $22.99/person from 11am-5pm, the value is pretty hard to beat. The meat quality is solid... not ultra premium, but definitely flavorful, and well worth the price point. The ambiance of the restaurant is what it is, an AYCE KBBQ spot. What really stood out was the service. The staff were super attentive, quick with grill changes, and consistently checked in. You can tell they actually care about the dining experience. I went to take advantage of their weekday lunch special for $22.99 that has 15 items to choose from. The quality of the brisket and pork belly are solid. They also have a self serve salad bar with many items that taste fresh and delicious, such as salad, potato salad, pink radish, japchae, and tofu soup. I really enjoy the kimichi and seasoned cucumber to go with the meat. The servers are nice and always walking around to help, especially with changing the grill. A family member recommended Road to Seoul BBQ for their affordability and selections. We went on a Sunday night at around 8:45pm and waited about 30 minutes to be seated. The restaurant wasn't busy, but they seemed understaffed. The service was friendly and faster once we were seated. The restaurant's spacious and lively, and good for big and small parties. We liked the self-serve salad & hot foods bar, which was included in the price per person. We had to ask the staff for sauces since they weren't at our table nor the bar. From the bar, I enjoyed the fried chicken wings and japchae. However, next time we visit, we'd get less food from the bar because we felt that we didn't take advantage of the BBQ as much during this visit. Other discounts they advertise include getting half off on your bday (+/- 1 date) showing ID as well as senior discount. For your bday they will play bday song over the speaker. Ban chan/side dishes are in the self serve area. I appreciate that the spring salad, bean sprouts and oranges were fresh since those are some items I always get. Both rice and rice paper are included but need to ask server for it. The unique thing here is a robot comes to your table with the order and your server will remove the meats from it. Servers are attentive and will remove grill plate without requesting. AYCE but only 3 meat orders at a time with 2 hr limit. Items come out quickly and is pretty good quality meat. GOOD PLACE FOR KOREAN BBQ =========================== My son, husband and I finished a little post rain hike at Hahamongna Watershed Park and a drive through Altadena on Christmas Day. We were in the mood for Chinese Food, so my son started looking for places nearby. Initially we were going to drive to China Town because a lot of local Chinese restaurants were closed, but found that quite a few were open in Alhambra. We parked in the structure just south of Main Street on S. First St. and and ended up deciding on Korean BBQ at the last minute because a couple were open on that block. We walked in Road to Seoul and found out that seniors get $10.00 off the standard price of $30.99 per person, so that was cool. My son's was full price. We just let my son order all the various meats, pork belly and chicken. As a second course he decided on baby octopus which I would not have eaten if my life depended on it. Two of those arrived and he could barely eat one. I don't want to go into the gory details about that sad and poor selection. Service was outstanding and our grill must have been changed at least ten times. The salad bar with all the side dishes was great. My son and I really liked the kimchi. As far as AYCE goes, Road to Seoul is a solid choice for KBBQ. I have been back a few times since my last review and feel they have been pretty consistent. Their regular standard dinner menu is currently about $30/pp and they have a weekday lunch special "Happy Hour" AYCE menu available for $20.99/pp (M-F 11am-5pm, excluding holidays) that I think is very worthwhile. They also do seem to offer Senior & Birthday discounts. Hubby & I came last Friday and they don't have the "hot bar" items during the weekday lunch "happy hour," but they have the cold banchans & tofu soup, which is fine. First round you get 4 meat choices, then each round after that is 3 meats. They got rid of the "steamed egg" from their regular dinner menu and don't have fountain sodas (only cans). Hubby & I usually stick with ordering Brisket, Thin Sliced Pork Belly, and Pork Jowl...we don't usually do the marinated meats. Rice Paper is available upon request and during regular dinner menu they usually have lettuce wraps too. All the sauces are at each table & they have sesame oil too (by request) if you want it. I also like ordering raw garlic slices on the side. Parking lot available behind RtS (Garfield & First), or park anywhere near Downtown Alhambra and walk over. Restrooms are fairly clean. Came here to celebrate with the work fam for the holidays. So the happy hour $20.99 all-you-can-eat situation was on point. For a weeknight, seating was a plenty and free parking in the structure on 1st st started us all on the perfect foot. If you live in LA, you know.... Finding a closer location of Road to Seoul BBQ in Alhambra after enjoying the fantastic K-Town spot was initially exciting. Seeing the long queue of hungry patrons reaffirmed my expectation that this branch would deliver the same quality. I was incredibly wrong; the disappointment was palpable. The most crucial element of Korean BBQ--the meat--was where this location failed spectacularly. I was baffled: how could raw meats that we cook ourselves go so wrong? The issue is clearly the quality and cut of the protein. The offerings here were drastically and noticeably levels below the superior selection served at the K-Town location. As a Korean diner, I have a clear standard for good banchan (side dishes), and these were simply terrible. The K-Town location offers sides that are "to die for," but this location's sides were a letdown. While this branch offers a buffet setup with many hot sides, which sounds nice in theory, not a single item was worth a second spoonful. I left feeling not just disappointed, but genuinely disgusted by the poor execution. This experience was so poor that I feel compelled to return to the original K-Town Road to Seoul just to confirm that my incredible initial visit there was the rule, not the exception. The Alhambra location is a massive and unforgivable downgrade from its flagship. I will not be returning to this branch. read more

I came here for lunch on a Thursday. It was not crowded. There is a Happy Hour price of $20.99 M-F. If you are a senior age 60+, there is an additional 10% discount. What a great deal! We were seated right away and we can order up to 4 meats at a time. We have two hours to eat as much as we want. The meat was fresh. We enjoyed it very much. There is a salad and side dish bar where you can help yourself. There is also spicy tofu soup. Service was good. The servers came by frequently to change out (replace) the dirty grill. These 3 were good. The reason for 3 stars, would be due to how oily the food is due to many quick grill changes, the grill gets super black quickly. Service was subpar, you only need a waiter when you order food and for grill changes. In my opinion, it's better to just let me people order on an iPad or on their phones, because when your food comes out, it comes out on a robot machine so you basically grab everything yourself unless your waiter sees then they will come to serve.
