Came here for the first time after looking for a highly rated Italian restaurant. Service was amazing. The food overall was good and I would certainly come back. I order the shrimp and calamari appetizer which was quite yummy and a much bigger portion than I expected. I also ordered the seafood pasta for my main. It was full of mussels, clams and shrimp but it lack flavor. I tried to add a little salt - which is rare that I do at a restaurant these days. But even salt couldn't help. I ended up sending it back and opted for the smoked salmon gnocchi. It was really goodl. But I will warn you that it has an extreme smoked salmon flavor which might be too much for most people. read more

Arrived early for Valentine's dinner with my husband and was pleasantly greeted and surprised that we were able to be seated. Unfortunately, that's where it started to go downhill. I requested a standard table, but we were seated on the patio, which is hardly decorated like a high end restaurant. Icicle lights, plastic grapes, and a space heater do not create a romantic atmosphere nor one that should be expected where you are spending $34-$56 for a plate of food. Our server was friendly and efficient, but that sadly did not make up for lackluster overpriced food and drinks we experienced. While there was a disappointing prix fixe menu for Valentine's day, which was not advertised when I booked the reservation (I will never understand why every restaurant does this on Valentine's day. It's so annoying), there was a limited selection of their regular menu as well. We started with cocktails. I had the Winter Old Fashioned and my husband had a Moscow Mule. My drink tasted like it was nothing more than maple syrup over ice, shockingly sweet and i tasted no bourbon. Also, the sugared rim dripped down my glass making a sticky mess every time i picked it up to have a sip. My husband's mule tasted of nothing other than ginger beer. First fail! Next, our lupo verde salads were delivered along with a bread basket. The lettuce in our salads was warm and for $17 each, should have been more than 4 or 5 bites. The bread in the basket was literally 4 jumbo sized (hard as a rock) croutons, which would have been better served on top of our salads. Fail number Two! Surely our entrees would be better, right? Nope. My husbands pappardelle with wild boar ragu was "fine", however my short rib raviolis ranged in temperature from straight from the fridge to barely lukewarm and were swimming in a sauce that tasted like jarred demi-glace. The parmesan "foam" was an unappetizing puddle of white liquid in the middle of my plate. I only finished it off a) because I was famished and b) there were only 7 small raviolis. I have had great experiences at Lupo Verde before but this one did not measure up, and will probably cause me not to return. At $190 after tip, we should have been able to expect more. Luckily, from start to finish, it only ate up about 45 minutes of our night. read more

Honestly pretty disappointed with the atmosphere and service, food was good. Came here for a date night on Friday. The place was packed, all the tables super close. We were upstairs where it was supposedly more romantic, it was not. The bread they first brought out was cold, crunch, and stale. We asked for a new batch that came out hot but still crunchy like an oversized croutons, not good bread all. The meat and cheese platter was good, but not worth the $38 especially since we only got about 7 tiny pretzel crackers to share and use... that's the cheapest part! Our pasta was great and we liked it. Cocktails at $17 are expensive but were good. Our waiter seemed a bit out of touch with how to properly service a table. I had to ask a bus boy to refill my water bc the waiter never did and wasn't around at that time. Overall, for a date night I would avoid. Came to Lupo for a Sunday night dinner and had an overall nice experience with some hits and some misses. First things first, the service was outstanding!!! Our waiter was so friendly, so nice, so warm, so welcoming, so attentive, and made our experience so lovely!! The drinks were delicious! Strong and flavorful with a good wine selection too. The atmosphere was awesome, super cute, not too loud, the perfect place to catch up with friends. Such a cozy environment. The food however was very hit or miss. For starters we had brushetta and epplant. The eggplant was phenomenal! The brushetta was a good bite though I probably wouldn't order it again. My main dish, fettuccine bolongese, was a miss for me. The noodles were very clumped together and not fully cooked so there was a lot of clumpy flour in the dish. I probably should have sent it back but was so hungry it was easier to just take all the clumps off the plate. But even clumpy noodles aside the dish just lacked flavor. The meat was grainy in texture and the sauce was a bit thin and flavorless. Salt would've gone a long way! I took a few bites and parted with the leftovers giving them to a friend. For dessert we had tiramusu which is served in the cutest little plant pot with a mint leaf sticking out. Loved the presentation. The tiramusu itself was good in flavor but had no structure. It was basically a pot of cream, you had to really search for the lady fingers. I would call it more of a tiramusu mousse than a traditional tiramusu. I did have a really nice latte with dessert. I would be willing to give Lupo another go based on the amazing service, cute atmosphere, and great drinks. My meal wasn't my favorite but my friends enjoyed their dishes so it may just be a place where you have to order right. read more

I was VERY disappointed with this restaurant. I was here a couple of years ago and it was ITALIAN but now it is NOT ITALIAN AT ALL. The appetizer, fillet tartare and sea food platter , was REALLY salty and very low quality ingredients The pasta, pappardelle with ragu d'agnello, lasagne, and norcino mushroom were over cooked and still salty and low quality. Not sure why Italian restaurants after a couple of years from their opening they decided to become so bad. Someone should go there and try their menu. You will see I am right. We dined at Lupo Verde for my birthday and it was absolutely delicious! We started off with cocktails, the fried artichokes, and burrata appetizer. The Verde 14 drink was very refreshing and reminded me of a cucumber mint mojito a bit. They have a nice wine list and we went with the pecorino and red blend. I'm someone who enjoys going to restaurants where I feel like I can jump around on the menu, try something new each time, and still see a continuity amongst all the dishes. Unfortunately this experience didn't deliver that for me, but there were still some solid standouts. Starting with the drinks, they had a decent menu of cocktails to choose from - i chose the sinatra, and ended up with two of them by the end of the meal. I enjoyed how balanced this drink was, and the embellishments of cherries and oranges, which I usually don't care much for, actually added to the drink. Next, we ordered the burrata - the entire reason I chose this restaurant. This was the highlight of the meal for me. Combined with figs, star fruit, some sort of cinnamon infused pear, and balsamic... it was nothing short of fantastic. I wish I could say the same for the calamari basket, which is the only calamari dish I have chosen not to complete. First the good parts, it was an enormous basket and the breading was light and airy. Unfortunately that was overshadowed by how thick all the cuts were. To me, calamari is something you can casually pop into your mouth and eat. This felt like we were having to somewhat struggle to chew or bite into any huge pieces. The shrimp added into the basket were delicious but hard to get into. For the main course I ordered the ravioli and my friend ordered the pesto gnocchi. Both were good. The ravioli had a wonderful pink vodka sauce, but overall tasted like many pastas I've had before. The pesto gnocchi seemed a bit unbalanced. The sauce was very overwhelming, and masked the taste of the gnocchi. Overall not a bad experience, but for two foodies, we both looked at each other and said "meh this was fine." read more

This is a go-to neighbor type place. I try other Italian restaurants and always go back to Lupo Verde. They have quite a few staff who are immigrants from Italy and clearly it makes a difference. There is fresh pasta made daily and the wines are solid, tasty and affordable. By the way, you can walk in next door at Lupo Pizza without a reservation and basically get the same menu! it's nice to have that super casual option also. Huge fan, here! read more

The rockfish was beautifully cooked with the perfect amount of seasoning. Wasn't soggy nor dry- just the right amount of grilling. The fish was fresh. The appetizers we had was grilled octopus in black aioli, and calamari in squid ink aioli. Both were fresh, well cooked (and I love non-fried/grilled calamari- makes it so much healthier). The aioli in both dishes were a bit too mayo-ey for me, but still a good dip for that extra oomph for your taste buds. Service was par- our waitress came by very often to check on us. This place is pretty WOW. We came here for an early dinner on the patio after a show on a very hot Saturday. We basically had the place to ourselves (not to worry it was completely filled in by the time we left!) and our waiter was hysterical and attentive. He was very obviously not Italian, but did the whole accent and language like a boss. We had a bottle of wine at his suggestion, which was a little more than I would've picked but it was good. We started with the Fritto Misto and it was soooo good- and HUGE! I recommend sharing an entree if you start with that! We moved on with some kind of Lobster Pasta and it was truly exceptional. I've been here twice now! It always seems to be very busy around dinner time, so make sure to make a reservation! The first time I came we got the burrata. It was very good. Creamy, very good pairing with all of the other stuff in the dish, and the breadstick added a nice crunch. The gnocchi with clams was good! It wasn't the best, but it was solid. There were a good amount of clams and the sauce wasn't too heavy. My boyfriend got the lamb and said it was very good! The mashed potatoes were surprisingly good too! I personally loved the Brussels sprouts. The last time we went I got pesto gnocchi. They were good but nothing special. My boyfriend got the brown butter ravioli with bacon and those were amazing! We definitely recommend those. The caprese was also very good, so I would highly recommend that as well. The mozzarella tasted fresh. I also got an espresso martini that was good. It tasted orangey. Really enjoyed our dinner. We were able to get a table outside on the patio. We had two waiters assist our table. Asked one waiter a question and he had someone else come and answer because he was not sure and wanted to make sure we received the correct answer, good teamwork. Enjoyed a nice bottle of Italian wine with our meal. We started with some Bruschettone Classico and Carciofi all Giudia (Fried artichokes). Both were very good. Really enjoyed the artichokes. The table was pretty diverse in ordering and we had about 4 different home-made pasta entrees. My Gemelli al Lupo Ragu was very good and everyone else really enjoyed their meal. I tried their Gnocchi dish and was able to try some of the other pasta dishes my friends ordered. My reaction to all of them were the same--they tasted pretty bland and with the expensive price point it didn't seem really worth it. My gnocchi dish had some of the smallest clams and the sauce had minimal flavor. Service was timely throughout other than when we needed our checks. It's a cute spot with great ambiance and the food was very taste, great flavor profile and uniquely well presented. FOOD: This place served hands down the best pasta I have ever eaten in my life. I ordered the Tagliolini Alla Pescatora, which had a lot of seafood (shrimp, mussels, clams, calamari). It was $38, but it was well worth the meal- I ate all of it! The pasta was freshly made, perfectly cooked, and the sauce was well seasoned. I always worry that there will be a little bit of seafood given in seafood dishes, but Lupo Verde did not play! The proportion of pasta to seafood was perfect! There was an abundant amount of seafood. My friend also ordered the Ravioli All Emiliana and we both loved that as well. This dish looked like it was a small portion on the plate, but it was super filling! It was hearty, savory, and cheesy- cooked to perfection. Overall, the pasta is what I imagine authentic pasta to taste like haha. We each got drinks. I got the Apirtini, which was beautiful, yummy, and slightly sweet. I enjoyed it! We also ended off with the Lupomisu'. We enjoyed it and it was free for us, however, I do want to note that it seemed like there was only one layer of ladyfingers in it, so the proportion of cream to lady fingers was like 2:1. Regardless, the tiramisu cream was still tasteful- not too sweet, and still enjoyable! SERVICE: Enough about me raving about the food. The service is REALLY what awed me about this restaurant. It was my friend's birthday, and the staff went above and beyond in treating her tonight. They surprised us with the Lupomisu' in a pot with a plant and candle and half a shot each (a shot in total) all free of charge! We were beyond stunned at the amazing service. The food on its own was enough to make me come back a second time, but the service was really what caused me to make sure I recommend this place to other people! ATMOSPHERE: We walked-in around nine-thirty with no reservation. We were lucky- usually before 9:00 you need a reservation. The restaurant was half-full, and they sat us on the first floor. Italian music was playing on the speakers, and the overall environment seemed joyful. The decoration was also beautiful and cultural. There was dim lighting which really added to the atmosphere. TIPS: If planning to go before 9:00, RSVP! SCORE: 5/5. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! I have been going to Lupo Verde for a couple of years and have had some terrific meals here. Because of these good experiences, we came for dinner with a friend visiting from out of town. The antipasti was fine, but everything went down hill from there. In addition to the less-than-terrific service, our entrees were really not good. My husband and I had ordered fish dishes: they were under-seasoned and overcooked. Our friend had the chicken entree. She was so displeased that she sent it back. The server brought out some pasta with a basic sauce to make up for the entree fiasco. It, too, was undercooked and the sauce poorly seasoned. It's really hard to mess up pasta. The high top seating was super uncomfortable, adding insult to injury. As much as I have enjoyed Lupo Verde's cacio e pepe, given the horrible--and expensive--experience we had with our last meal, we won't be back. read more
