Update: Lure is still excellent 2 years later. They have taken me through numerous different cuts and colors, and I've always been happy. I still work with colorist Jenie (Jade) and stylist Carli, and they are still amazing. My hair gets complimented every week. I also want to point out that they have sustainability practices such as serving drinks in reusable glasses and mugs, cloth hand towels in the restroom, and a recycling program. They are the only Green Circle salon in Dallas, and I appreciate that they set themselves apart in this way. Keep up the good work, Lure! read more

Found myself hurricane- evacuated in Dallas and in need of a haircut but not any haircut: an edgy, interesting undercut for my curly hair. I had a bad experience with a previous salon and was super nervous to try anyone new. My friend recommended Lure Salon but I took a chance and picked Isa based off her Instagram. I have now been going to Isa for over a year and couldn't be happier every time I leave! She always brings my poor explanations of what I want to life. Maybe some people who work there know what they are doing. But my god, I went for a color and highlight and it looks absolutely awful. Color looks terrible and the highlights look like a 2 year old smeared their fingers randomly across the head. If you're a new client also make sure to book an additional service (them literally drying your hair for like 50$) or you will walk out of the salon with soaking wet hair - probably so you can't see what your hair looks like until you are home and can't do anything about it. Their recommendation did not disappoint. She is a wizard with scissors. Love the stylist but I can never come out with my hair the color i wanted. I have naturally dark hair so I knew the transition from dark to blonde would take some time. With that being said, my color always came back out with strong warm tones after i had specifically asked for cooler blonde. YES I know dark hair pulls orange/red.. I tried three tries and still just wasn't cutting it. the color wasn't awful it just wasn't the way i wanted it. it might just be the color they use. So happy with Lure Salon! I just moved from Chicago to Dallas. I was going to a salon here and I was not thrilled with my results. I had a aweful experience a few days ago. I am a brunette and went in for a few warm highlights around my face. I came out a blonde!!! I am scheduled for a work photo shoot in a few days!!!! I was in desperate and in need for a great colorist and I found her!!!!! I looked on Yelp, Lure Salon and colorist Jenie were highly rated. I booked that morning and was able to come in that early afternoon. The salon is very welcoming as soon as you walk in. There is free valet parking which is so helpful. I was offered water or wine. I met Jenie and told her my issue. You can tell by her confidence she knows what she is doing. She looked at my naturel hair color, listened to me and the results were amazing. I have been going her for about a year now after someone else messed up my hair so bad I went from long hair to short hair. It was dry and brittle. I go To Vanessa for Color and Emily Rodriguez for haircut. Both these ladies have done an amazing job with my hair. My hair is finally at the shoulder blades and it's healthy. went in for a trim with Shannon and had very long hair that I hadn't cut in over 2 years. I have very wavy and thick hair. She asked me what I wanted and I said "I want a trim and for it to not be too short to put in a bun" because I thought if I stuck to clear and specific instructions nothing could go wrong. She then decided the best course of action for my hair was layers, very short above the shoulder layers. It was literally the worst possible haircut for a person with thick and wavy hair because I now look like I sell cats on the street and my hair is out of control. I can't put it in a bun, I can barely contain it. Thanks Shannon for making me look horrible and doing the most non sensical thing you could have possible done. Great professional expertise! Also she has the messiest bun I had ever seen in my life. As a side note but I guess you should always look at the person who does your hair to make sure they look ok before you end up looking like them. I would have loved to give the salon a piece of my mind at the time of the cut but it was styled so it wasn't until I washed my own hair that I noticed just how short it ended up and the horrific shape it took. Wow! We really loved our experiences at Lure--both myself and my daughter loved the team members--from Stylists to the Scheduling staff. And, I think their COVID protocol was quite on par! I had originally scheduled appointments for the both of us, and my daughter's schedule changed at the last minute and not only did they accommodate the last minute change, we were able to see the same stylist! I also asked to change stylists--not due to any negative reasons--and once again, they helped me make that change to Ferrin! They were a dream to work with and they provided timely support and were so so communicative, which, for me, is so important. I would truly love to give this place five stars since the management was so kind to me, but I simply cannot due to an overwhelmingly negative experience which has cost me several hundred dollars and has taken nearly a year to rectify. First time client having booked an appointment for a quick trim. More hair was cut off than I requested (not really a problem), which left a small but obvious colour line on one side of my head where highlights had been placed. As I couldn't see it, I asked my stylist if it was noticeable and something I should have addressed right away. He told me yes, it was very obvious and needed to be covered. He suggested I have one of their colourists fix it and he'd see who was available. Long story short, without mentioning names, this 13-year veteran "stylist," instead of simply blending in a bit of ash colour throughout the sides as I'd had done many times before, decided without me even realising it to dye my entire head of hair a dark purplish brown, an almost eggplant tone. Mind you - my hair is naturally a dark blond with very few highlights and I made it clear I wasn't interested in changing the colour - what kind of stylist does this without telling their client??? She was clearly surprised at the results but tried to act coy by stating, "What? Don't you like it?" Yeah, right. After having endured EIGHT harsh washings with colour-remover, then an additional two more with shampoo and conditioner, I was left with a pinkish tone. I needed a break as my scalp hurt so badly from all the rough chemicals. I made an appointment to come back the next day to try to fix it yet again and to remove the pink. This stylist was actually ANNOYED that she had to work on me yet another time, even though the other staff in the salon agreed that my hair was "pinkish." Next day I ran the show. The only choice left was to put in a bunch of highlights even though I didn't want to colour my hair at all, and let it just grow out and cut the colour off as my roots come in. With reluctance she did it and afterwards I looked reasonably normal, although considerably more blond than I would have ever wanted. Some of the pink remained on the sides, back and throughout the top but I hadn't a choice but to deal with it. It has taken ONE SOLID YEAR and considerable $$$ to get this little mishap over and done. Although the salon manager was truly wonderful, for this disaster I've moved on to another salon. read more

I have gone through long to short and back to long hair over the last 6 years Milane is always supportive and does a great job of cutting my hair, suggesting products and ways to style on my own. She listens and then makes it better than what I had asked. I wonder if she can read my mind? I started having my hair colored/highlighted about 2 years ago and so booked an appointment with Natasha, one of the co-owners. She is great! This last time I went in I told her I just needed a few "sparkles" here and there not a lot. She interpreted what I meant and did it beautifully. I just love these women. This salon is amazing! I had grown out my hair for years and never knew how to wear it. I literally wore my hair in a bun for 4 years and I hated it. I went to lure ( in hopes for a transformation) for a cut, color and blow dry. OMG, OMG! They have done a fabulous job transforming my hair from out of shape/ boring to GORGEOUS! My hair confidence has gone up and I love it. Plus, the salon is clean and everyone is very professional. I go to Yvonne for color ( she is the owner- she is amazing) and have jumped around to different stylists for cuts ( Sergio and Liz). I love the way Rachel and Milane blowout hair. Don't be lured in by their living social deal unless you are prepared to wait and wait for an appointment. You cannot get appointment for weeks if using the coupon. Too many people bought it And now they cannot accommodate very well. If you call and do not tell them you have one, somehow their schedule opens right up though. I am "new" to Dallas -- and what is most telling is that my other new Dallas local friends AND other Dallas transplants go to this SAME salon. One of my friends has been coming to the same stylist there since HIGH SCHOOL -- and we are now 27...so loyalty here is huge. I remember passing it on my first job interview and thought: BAM. DONE. You want some place convenient and on the way home from work. Huge perks to this place: 1) Personable. The front desk will take time to set up your appointments in advance. I always forget my appt time -- and they are so patient calling me a day ahead and reminding me when I pester them a week later when I forgot to write down the next time. 2) Stylists -- GREAT! I go to Rachel for cut and Yvonne for color. I teach so I don't have a lot of times except on weekends to plop down for both at once -- so I can set up after school appts with Rachel during the week -- catch up with her over a glass of wine -- and then relax with color on a Saturday a few weeks later with a mimosa. (Try the berry one!) They all gave me the BEST tips of my first trip to Austin with my hubs. Being new to Texas -- we would have been fools for not talking to them all a week before the trip. They were DEAD on for us in travel tips! 3) Products -- I have gotten hooked on Oribe care. Several of my friends who are not even in Dallas are using it too! They also sell a bunch of the travel size products for airplanes that are much cheaper -- and you can't get anywhere else! 4) Music --- I want their soundtracks. Done. 5) Parking was never an issue. They have a valet -- who is free - but he is SO nice, always smiling, and I enjoy tipping him. My car is WAITING with the keys for me to pull away as I'm walking out! (Don't know how they do that -- but that's awesome). I don't usually ever have to valet during the week -- only on Saturdays. 6) It's not as pricey as some salons. I was paying WELLLLLL over $200 at another salon in Uptown -- but my cut is $55 and color is $95 -- not including tip. You pay more in larger city -- but this is also in Uptown and a nicer salon -- so GET OVER IT. You get what you pay for. I am thoroughly satisfied and my short, blonde, bob self is parked at Lure for times to come! Thanks all! read more

I left the salon in tears. This was the worse experience I have ever had at a salon. My stylist was overbooked that half the appointment she was with another client and just left me with half the foils in and handed me off to random people.
