$9.99 Steamed Fish Dumplings with Napa 蒸魚餃
    Tiffany T.

This review is only for the fish dumplings that I tried. 8 dumplings for $9.99. The dough skin is a little thick imo, and the filling is not very flavorful To be fair, I am comparing them with the best fish dumplings I've ever had from "Chinese Korean Dumplings and Noodles" in New world mall in Flushing NY. But I wouldn't order these again I heard they have happy hour daily 2-5p for $7 dumplings. I may come back to try some others and report back

This was our second time in this place. The first time we did take out. The food was tasty. Our second time, we decided to give it a try and eat at the restaurant. One big thing for us in eating in Chinatown is how clean the place is. The main dining room, bathroom, etc. , when you pass the kitchen the floors were clean. It's good to see. Our favorite dish here is the Sweet Pork Belly Bao Bun. Delish. Service is good. Very helpful and patient wait staff. Will definitely go back.

I love a no-nonsense dumpling spot. We got seated immediately and staff were good at hovering at the front and watching tables because they forecasted all of our needs. From the fast ordering to immediate water refills, service is impeccable. We got the mushroom noodles with side soup and the dumpling and tea combo. Both are such great deals for the amount of food you're getting. The food is delicious and they have the side sauces available on the table so you don't even have to ask. It wasn't busy at lunch hour so everyone seems to be seated quickly and food comes out fast too. The staff do an excellent job of keeping the space clean and calm.

Came at the recommendation of a friend and the dumplings did not disappoint! I really liked their hot and sour soup, the pork dumplings were great, the crap soup dumpling amazing, and could not go wrong with lo mein. It was such a cute little restaurant with bright lights and good space. Our service was also quite fast and kept water refills coming quickly.

My friends are regulars here and recommended we come here one night! We were seated immediately and the restaurant is very cute and clean and the bathrooms are very clean and have paper towels. We ordered two orders of scallion pancake, and also got the sesame chicken with rice, angus beef noodle soup, the szechuan pickled pork noodle soup, and smashed cucumbers with garlic sauce. The portions were huge and there was a lot of meat with the food. The soup was very refreshing and light. The highlight of our meal was the sauce that came with the scallion pancakes -- it was the perfect flavor mix of sweet and umami. We will definitely be coming back. They also sell T shirts for $25, but it is in Asian sizing.

Solid soup dumplings, okay noodles but still good. Nice clean ambiance, kind service but had to wait almost half an hour for one order of gyozas to go at the end. Overall great food though!

We were driving through and stopped in Chinatown while visiting Philadelphia. It's a relatively short walk from the Liberty Bell to Chinatown - thus making it an ideal place for tourists to visit for food. I was craving dumplings after a few days on the road and eating way too much American food. I yelped this place and we decided to come inside. They were quick to sit our large party and we also quickly ordered. The food came out pretty quickly and everything was good! Favorites we ordered: Xiao Long Bao Chili Wonton Pan Fried Dumplings Bok Choy 100% would come back! Prices were affordable and food was excellent.

I have been meaning to visit this restaurant because it has a good reputation for good food. The menu is very comparable to another smaller soup dumpling chain. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. The beef in the noodle soup was tender and the cold wood ear dish was my favorite so far. The soup dumplings were also very good, although not the best (7.5/10). I was however surprised to see that the pan fried buns were just the same as the soup dumplings, not the more pillowy, yeastier, sweet doughy bun that is the cousin of a traditional soup dumpling. When we asked for the check, it was presented to us on a mobile device that the server held on to, giving us all of 5 seconds to review and pay. It was awkward having to look at this tiny screen to make sure everything was correct and to leave a gratuity. I would love to see a paper check in the future.

Some of the best dumplings I've had in my life, wow. These are really unique dumplings, different from usual because they are more soupy. Everything we ordered was delicious. The food came fast, and the staff are friendly. The interior is casual and unassuming, but the food is mindblowing. For appetizers and sides, the bean curd, wood ear mushrooms, and bok choy are good. The scallion pancake was thin and crispy, and the soup dumplings were perfect. What really steals the show, though, are the boiled and pan fried dumplings. My favorite was the pan fried pork dumplings, but the two kinds of boiled dumplings are also good. The angus beef bun and the stewed pork belly buns are creative and delicious. I definitely recommend this spot if you're ever in Philly's Chinatown!

A very nice alternative to other soup dumpling restaurants. Their soup dumpling skins are thinner than Dim Sum Garden (which is a plus), but the skin breaks too much. Their soup dumpling service is good, and the restaurant is pretty spacious and clean. All the dishes we ordered were good, maybe not the best I tasted, but I did enjoy them. I'll have to come back and try their other dishes.

I've tried a few things here and some dishes are better than others. The seaweed with spicy garlic is delicious, and the soup dumplings are are very large with lots of flavor. The spicy dumplings have a nutty flavor I wasn't into, so I wouldn't get that again. Soups are big and taste fresh, but they need a splash of hot oil to wake up the flavors. Good place overall. Quick service and lots of seating.

Was looking forward to checking out Luscious Dumplings for some time now. There are very few Asian restaurants specializing in Taiwanese cuisine in Philly, and we were hoping Luscious Dumplings could be the one that can satisfy our Taiwanese food needs now and in the future. My husband and I ordered a few of theirs dishes online including the pan-fried pork dumplings, the scallion pancake, the mushroom meat sauce rice bowl, and their signature dish - the Angus Stewed Beef Noodle. Everything tasted just okay to us. Not terrible, but not great either. Everything tasted very homely, in fact, too homely for our tastes. One thing that I did like though, was their scallion pancake is a lot thinner than other Chinese restaurants. The food items here are also priced very reasonably, and perfectly portioned for one meal. The California location might have been awarded the Bib Gourmand award in 2021, but the Philly location definitely does not taste like Bib Gourmand award level. Unfortunately, Luscious Dumplings did not satisfy our Taiwanese food cravings.

Walked past this place a couple of times while in China Town so had to make the stop. The name of the place was what caughy my attention. Inside it was very spacey and lots of tables to sit at. We got greeted and seated right away. We got the scallion pancakes, steamed snow crabs and pork soup dumplings and the cutie piggy buns. All comes out to be total of $25 and some change which is AWESOME! -Scallion pancakes is delicioua, it is crispy and thin and flavoring is just right (it's deff not like scallion pancakes anywhere that i have had before) - Snow crabs and pork soup dumplings: thin and chewy outside and flavorful and soupy on the inside. Real hot when it first came out which is perfect but not my fav soup dumplings i have had. - Piggy custard bun is delicious and my fav. Buns outside was very soft and moist and inside the custard is not too sweet and in a way creamy. Deff would come back here to get this again.

Lazy Sunday after an unsuccessful Memorial Day beach weekend. It was cold and rainy all weekend but…read morewe decided to hit up some beef noodle soup place to warm up. On this cold almost summer day, Nan Zhou was hustling and bustling. Separate parties at the same round table and clients coming in and out of the restaurant facade. Warm lighting and active banter. I received my bowl of beef noodle soup was pretty satisfied. Beef was tender with flavorful bites of fattiness. Somehow, the meat tastes beefier than beef. The cilantro had potent herbaceous flavor with some spinach(?) and mustard greens. Noodles were pleasantly chewy w variation in texture. Lowkey, everything else was alright. I like to be nice so I'll say no more. Cucumbers were fine

This place was packed, which is always a good sign, and even with that the staff stayed super prompt and professional. The house special was my favorite. I got it with the knife-cut noodles and it was perfect with the broth. The noodles had that slightly uneven, chewy texture that really holds onto the soup. I never thought I'd be the type to talk about "mouthfeel" but here we are. The broth itself was rich and savory with a deep beef flavor, a little bit of oil on top that adds body without feeling too heavy. It's that classic, comforting Chinese beef noodle soup done really well. I added a braised egg, which had great flavor soaked into it, though it was served cold, which threw me off a bit. The mapo tofu with noodles was also really solid. It had that signature spicy, numbing kick from the Sichuan peppercorns, balanced with a savory, slightly salty sauce. The tofu was soft and silky, and mixing it with the noodles made it extra satisfying. It's got some heat but not overwhelming, just enough to keep you going back for another bite. The shrimp stir fry was lighter but still flavorful. The shrimp were cooked well, tender with a slight snap, and the sauce leaned more on the savory side with a mild sweetness. It felt like a nice balance alongside the heavier noodle dishes. Couple practical things: it's cash only, but there's an ATM right by the seating area which makes it easy. And the portions are generous for the price, so it feels like a really good deal. Overall, super satisfying spot. Busy, a little chaotic, but the food absolutely delivers. Definitely a go-to if you're craving hand-pulled noodles.

The homemade DanDan noodles were our favorite, which are served with ground pork in a spicy peanut sauce. We also got the three cup chicken which was so good, with a sweet, licorice-like glaze. Some other favorites were the black pepper chicken and the long hot chicken, if you enjoy spice. We had the ginger and scallion dish and was not our favorite, as the chicken had a unique consistency and was quite limp. Overall, good service and a relaxing ambiance in a bustling city.

Unfortunately the experience at pickup wasn't the best. I asked if they had included utensils and the gentleman at the counter said no. I asked for some since I was bringing the food back to my hotel and wouldn't have anything to eat with. He was pretty dismissive and didn't seem to want to give me anything. (I also didn't get any napkins.) Just a little strange when ordering takeout, utensils should be included right? Or at the very least be readily given out when requested? He begrudgingly gave me 2 pairs of chopsticks and a fork, said he ran out of spoons. I didn't notice the lack of napkins until I got back. Now for the food. We ordered dan dan noodles, a chicken lo mein, and Taiwanese minced pork rice. The noodle dishes were decent but the lo mein was a bit too al dente for our liking...especially for our young son. Didn't get a chance to eat the rice because we were all too full from the noodles. Appreciate the generous portions at least. Will see if the rice will make it home safely with us and reheats well. Can't speak on the ambience. Wasn't in there long enough to really look around. Will I order from them again or try in person in the future? I'm not sure. I wasn't blown away by the food or service so...
