The customer service is non existent. I spent over $100 on an order and didn't choose next day shipping I chose ground shipping. Instead of making out the order like a real business I receive a text from a rude door dash driver who complained about the distance to deliver. I thought I was ordering from a real company who has mastered the logistics in keeping their clients happy. This was a terrible experience. They are selling a commodity that can be easily bought anywhere else. There is no need to waste your hard earned money with this thoughtless company. read more

I went to the store specifically to find a cosmetic product to combat the dark circles under my eyes, and Luiza, from Brazil, was there to assist me. She was incredibly encouraging, embodying all the qualities of excellent customer service. She greeted me as soon as I walked in and approached me to see how she could help. When we found the toner, she told me it was something she personally used and explained that within seven days, she had started noticing a difference in reducing dark circles. She did an excellent job explaining how, as we age, neglecting to use products like this can lead to those spots under our eyes. To help me feel more prepared, she even removed her glasses to demonstrate where and how she applied the toner. Luiza was working alone in the store, which made her level of attentiveness and expertise even more impressive. I truly appreciate the training she must have received in customer service to provide such exceptional care. With all the talk about artificial intelligence, it's service like hers that makes human interaction so much more enjoyable and appealing. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. read more

My daughter had her 12th birthday party here and it was so great! The staff are so fun and energetic. They kept the girls entertained with one activity after another. They made their own bath bombs, played games, took photos, etc. I was so impressed with how well-run it was. And the store itself is great. My Gal Pal loves Lush & their products with a list in her hand to get. However, we were in the store for about 5 minutes & no one acknowledged us. She had products stocking up & still no welcoming salutation from any of the four employees. While I was smelling the perfume (the scents were not pleasing to the nose) she instructed us to go. I get it if you have a busy store with loads of customers, yet there was only one other customer in the store besides the two of us. This is one of my biggest pet peeves in being a consumer, the lack of basic customer service as so much as acknowledging someone when they are walking in to spend money...not a positive note. I said the tag says $40 along with every box in the section and the store signage. She & the Supervisor stated that the price had gone up and they had just not updated the tags or sign. So if I wanted it then it would be $45 take it or leave it. I guess this is the new business model price tags do not have to match the actual price. The customer service is excellent as the staff members are respectful and quick to serve. You can try any product in the store and even take samples back home. Absolutely phenomenal customer service from the entire team. I've been having trouble sleeping lately and I read an article about 'Sleepy' body lotion, saying that it was great for helping the body wind down and prepare for a good night's rest. I also read that the product was seasonal, so I called this morning to see if they had it in stock. The lady on the phone was polite and cheerful, and told me that they did. I came in to buy the lotion was overwhelmed by the melange of scents and colors (including glitter bath bombs.... whaaaat?!) One of the sales associates greeted me, then apologize when she saw I had my headphones in, offering to give me my space if I wanted to be left alone. I really appreciated that because I find some sales associates in other stores to be a little bit pushy and aggressive. She was just the opposite. I recognized her voice as the woman who I spoke to earlier on the phone. She pointed me right to the lotion I wanted, but also took the time to explain some of the other products that the store carried that I may be interested in. One of the other sales associates noticed that I was checking out another body cream on my way to the register. As a third sales associate was ringing up my purchase, the second sales associate prepared me a sample size of the cream for me to try (without my asking! I didn't even know she saw me looking at it!). After I completed my purchase, they all invited me to come back to the store and let me know how I liked the products. These ladies were super-awesome! I have a great experience every time I come here. I always at least leave with a memory of nice smells. I think some of the products are a little over priced but the staff is always SUPER friendly and helpful. Even though they're clearly trying to sell products, I never feel like they're ramming anything down my throat. I love how quick they are to offer product demonstrations and samples so that you can think over a purchase. Additionally, even when the place is full of customers, they still manage to make contact with (and spend time if needed with) everyone...this was especially clear during the Christmas rush. (Also I love the gentle face and body scrub Angels on Bare Skin) At Christmas time, this Lush made my gift giving experience so easy. I was extremely skeptical about the shampoo bars and bath bombs everyone has been taking about for years. Last year just before the pandemic my partner and I got our first shampoo bar and our hair has never been healthier. The fact that they use natural ingredients that are not harsh on your skin really makes a big difference for your skin as well. I also love the low environmental impact packaging they use. During the pandemic the store was obviously closed for health and safety reasons and we had to switch back to buying bottled shampoo after 3 months of using the honey I washed my hair bar. I was blown away by the smells of chemicals coming off the bottled shampoo. We could have ordered online but we're worried that the store would open the next week and we would still be waiting on snail mail. Highly recommend there bath bombs as well, they smell nice but not to strong and don't tint your skin or bathtub. They come in fun shapes sizes and ingredients. I stopped in the vast mall just to go to THIS place. The store smells amazing from outside. It's not overwhelming. We love to shop the bath bombs, and there are so many to choose from. We got to watch a demo of a bath bomb called Goddess. The man gave a little history about why they call it Goddess that we found interesting. One of the girls that works there has tattoos and was showing me different kinds of creams to put on my tattoos to keep the color vibrant and the skin moisturized. I had no idea they even had that! Another woman danced with my daughter! She then showed my daughter different kinds of sprays for her hair. The employees here really love their job! They know so much about the merchandise they sell, and they do what they can to make sure you find what you need. I am so mad I didn't get their names because I want to give them the credit they deserve for making our shopping experience amazing. (I did do the survey on the bottom of the receipt.) So, Alexis B. called me out about not writing a review for Lush, and while I kinda felt shamed, I actually never meant to write a review. This, of course, became an issue after I had told everybody and their mama about the products from Lush. You see, I have sensitive skin. We've gone over this in a previous review, but let's revisit. I have to use products without any harsh chemicals and random fillers. Namely, I stay clear from parabens, sulfates, soy, mineral oil, petroleum, gluten...and the list goes on....smh. So, places like Lush help me to maintain the homeostasis in my body, in particular, my face. Lush carries a number of handmade products (literally: they post a sketched picture of the maker on the products) ranging from soap to lip gloss. I, of course, focus on their face soaps. My favorites are the Dark Angels (which is basically a charcoal and sugar scrub--yet they don't call it a scrub, they call it a cleanser), the Movis (which is basically bread-like soap that leaves your face amazingly soft) and sometimes I'll get random items like bar shampoo or a massage bar. Lush also carries natural deodorant, moisturizers and even makeup products! You might have realized I gave Lush three stars at this point, and may be wondering why. Well, one day I was looking through a Lush catalog, for which they provide the product information along with ingredients. While Lush may boast more natural products, you can still find parabens and soy lithium in some of their popular items. This is purely a cheap way to preserve the products, which may be fine for some, but I'm not into it. If that's the case, I can go to a random drug store and pick up similar products. My whole point of going to Lush is to avoid harmful ingredients, it's clear now that you can never be too careful. So, yes I recommend Lush to anyone thinking about alternative products for your body, but I do advise you to pay attention to the ingredients on the label. And in their defense, I've noticed that Lush is becoming more aware of sensitivities and taking a proactive stance: they've removed parabens from some of their products. They are a pretty friendly bunch, and uber knowledgeable about the products. The kicker here is that Lush employees offer you a gazillion samples to try in store and take home, so before purchasing anything, I also advise you to try it at home to see how your skin reacts. My favorite store is OBVIOUSLY Pentagon City, but other locations are scattered within the area: Tysons Corner, Georgetown. Lush has that Sefora feel, so you might (or might not in my case) get overwhelmed with the products and samples. In this instance, go in with a plan and you won't go broke after purchasing the whole store. read more

This place came highly recommended by several of my fellow Yelpers with various skin challenges. I have really sensitive skin and love natural/organic products without preservatives. I started smiling as soon as I walked in because the store is so freaking cute. There were colorful displays and fresh flowers everywhere which added to the delightful atmosphere. An employee named Bri gave me a crash course on what Lush has to offer. I sampled 2 refrigerated facial masks on the back of my hands, serums, lotions, etc. I also observed the bath bomb/ bubble building demo and discussed Lush's relationship with hundreds of charity partners. Bri seemed to respect my apprehension around bacteria developing on bar soaps and explained solutions for that. I was in beauty product heaven!!!! It was difficult making a decision because I wanted EVERYTHING, but I finally bought a refrigerated fresh face mask ("Don't Look At Me") and a Charity Pot because I love supporting good causes. The mask should last about 3 weeks. I'm still contemplating the pretty fizzy bath bombs. Not sure if the fragrance will mesh with my very sensitive body parts. Bri also informed me that about 100 new products will be released in the US soon. I can't wait to continue exploring. PS. A lovely young lady named Nia came over and asked if I was looking for anything in particular and began to tell me about the facial mask offered at lush (the area I was in). This young lady was so knowledgeable about the lush products (and her face was beat for the gods might I add) that even tho I didn't have any intentions of buying anything I ended up buying a facial mask anyway. I'm a Lush fan, especially of their refrigerated face masks. I often pop in here to pick a few up. Since everyone else is a Lush fan, too, this store is always crowded. But, I've had nothing but exceptional service, even if I need to wait to be helped. They do sometimes sell out of the masks, so I recommend calling first if that's all you want. If you're venturing to this outlet for the first time and you're familiar with the franchise, just go to Metro level and follow your nose. Inside, all the typical Lush items, most of which easily win my approval. The staff, including the dear Africa (pronounced Ah-Freh-Kah) have been well-trained in the ways of Lush and customer service and attention. Great store and great staff. Normally I'd rather receive paper cuts between every one of my fingers than go to a mall but the only reason I would even consider finessing upon the idea of setting one foot into this particular mall would be to go to Lush to get my hands on some of that charcoal soap. By nature, my face gets oily rather quickly but this particular charcoal soap has been a game changer - so much so that friends have noticed a certain pleasant "glow" about my skin. I'll take it. Though it's a little expensive, one little piece of this soap can last a month for around $7-8 bucks. Good stuff and I would say the staff is very helpful and pleasant. Oh and those bright pink bags that come with every purchase are just precious! Very emasculating indeed. read more

Lay comes up to me, asks if i needed help, i told her no thank you. Another lady, larger, blonde hair with a full face of make up, asked me if i needed anything then started explaining the promotions and i told her i wasn't interested. I just wanted to look at the holiday bombs. My gut told me to turn around after she walked away and so i did. She had walked over to two other employees, a male and a female, who were now staring at me smirking and looking me up and down. I walked right out. Forget this location. I'm not going to stand there and watch you blatantly talk crap about me. I'll go elsewhere if i ever want to go to lush from now on. I'll visit again when there are new employees. read more

Swoon! I absolutely LOVE this store! I am a skin products junkie and this place is like my very own, very clean and wonderfully-fragranced crack den! And Erika is supplier extraordinare! LOL Seriously though, the products are phenomenal! And Erika is the BEST!! Ask for her! Not only does she know the products inside and out, but she knows what will work for you and she'll suggest things you may like based on past preferences. I've been to other locations but this one is my favorite because of her. She is a tremendous asset to the store--and to my life! LOL But every staff member I've encountered at this location has been SO kind and helpful. Olive Branch shower gel is hands down the best smelling bath product I've ever used. The Rub Rub Rub shower smoothie is delicious too! I love rich lotions and creams and Lush always satisfies. The King of Skin and African Paradise shower conditioners are magical. My skin feels buttery soft whenever I use them--and not just for the moment. The effect lasts all day! I typically use Cetaphil cleanser but I splurge on facial moisturizers--Peter Thomas Roth is one of my favorites--and I also use a pricey (and quite lovely) facial oil I got at Sephora. But at Erica's urging, I gave the Ultrabland cleanser and the Celestial moisturizer a shot. I am now a BELIEVER! The Ultrabland left my face feeling both dewy AND clean (how is that even possible??). And the Celestial moisturizer is very light to the touch but it is so incredibly moisturizing. My skin feels better than it does with my Sephora products, at about a third of the price. I have actually asked Erika to stop letting me in the store, just because I always go crazy every time I visit. She hasn't...yet. LOL read more

I used to love Lush, even though I find all of their sales associates to be incredibly overbearing. I don't need someone to babysit me while I shop, thanks. But my big complaint is that they discontinue products in the name of spurring interest in NEW products, which is fine if that works for them but it doesn't work for me. I'm sick of finding something I love and then finding that they don't make it anymore (25:43 and Karma powder, to start). Then when I go into the store they stick a bunch of gross smelling products under my nose and shove them in my basket. My love affair with Lush was fun while it lasted, but it's over. Went into Lush for the first time after thorough research for sensitive skin facial scrubs. Got a nice demonstration and ended up buying 'Let the Good Times Roll.' First on the product itself: its okay but I wanted something a little more grainy, but it does smell great and leaves my skin soft. The Bad. Went back into Lush to return it WITH my receipt. Well, apparently, when I purchased the facial scrub a week prior, the clerk scanned another product and the names of the products didn't match. I told the woman that I have only been into any lush store one time and that the clerk must have made a mistake. The store worker went back to talk to a manager and came back with a "I'm sorry. The names don't match. You'll have to exchange it," while it seemed, giving me a suspicious look like I was trying to scam the store. I was so offended I left. This was my first ever visit to a Lush store! What an awesome concept. Admittedly, I was overwhelmed as soon as I walked in and had no idea where to look first. Luckily, if you let them know it's your first time, you'll get an official "tour" of the store -- complete with descriptions of the different product categories, what they're made of, who makes it, etc. They even allow you to try different products (and have water stations and towels throughout). All the staff was super friendly and helpful, so that was also a big plus! The prices are pretty reasonable considering the high-quality items you're getting (and the fact that you'd likely spend as much on drug-store stuff laden with chemicals or, worse yet, on expensive concoctions from a dermatologist). Also, a lot of what they sell is sound by the pound like a supermarket -- so you can weigh it out and purchase as much (or as little) as you want. I played it safe on my first visit and only got about $5 worth of a clay-based face soap/wash-ish that I'm going to try out now that I'm running out of black soap. I'll give it a few weeks and see how I like it, but so far so good! I'm hoping I'm well on my way to a new, "lush-ous" complexion! :-) read more

This is a review of the GREAT experience our 13 year old daughter had during her birthday party there. We took 6 13-year-old girls there for a party on Sunday night. The team for the party--Robin, Tristan, and Denee--were absolutely wonderful. It's a little nerve-wracking being in a tiny space with six screaming teenage girls :) but they were the epitome of grace and great attitude, energetic and upbeat. They showed genuine enthusiasm and encouraged the girls to have a great time, and made the girls totally feel in their element. They put on the girls' favorite music and danced and sang along. They also did a great job making the birthday girl feel special, but didn't make the others feel neglected. As for the store--I'm always impressed by the beautiful and creative layout. My daughter is very particular about her beauty products and she LOVES the Lush products. Bravo! Highly recommended. read more

I have been shopping at Lush for years. I use a lot of the products and typically get really great service. I came in and purchased the black stockings bar and pumice power. I was charged for 2 black stocking bars. I didn't realize the cashiers mistake until I got home. I called the store and it took a long time to get someone on the phone. I was told that I would have to come back to the store to get this taken care of. I sent my receipt and a picture of the products as proof. I think its terrible customer service and pretty silly that this couldn't be taken care of over the phone. I am really disappointed after being a customer for such a long time. I will not be coming back due to the total lack of "problem solving skills" and customer service. I have told so many friends and family members about this experience. UGH ! read more

I had never been to a Lush store before this but the service alone will have me returning to this one. I loved how friendly the employees were and they were super helpful in answering questions about the brand which I heard a lot about but have never tried. All of the different scents hit you as soon as you walk in the door but manages to not be overpowering. I love how you can sample just about anything in the store and everything is clearly marked with the product name, ingredients, and benefits. Yes the soap smells can be a bit overwhelming at first, but I thoroughly enjoyed my first-time shopping experience yesterday. So many options! Yes, you can have your soap in literally any color (or scent) you like. From the long conversation I had with a staff member Lush seems to be on the upper end of corporate responsibility as well. The customer service and freshness in products is unparalleled at this location. You couldn't ask for a more cohesive and organized team. Vanessa ran the register and helped me with a return I had from Christmas. I was worried it was going to be a nightmare but Vanessa made it painless and was able to direct me to other products that would suit my needs better; say the "Wash that man right out of my hair" shampoo with a hint of Jasmine and you can't beat the name. Then Renee hopped in and helped me decide on a great soap for my Mom and little sister based on their needs. She even gave me a lesson in exfoliating. There is a young African-American woman working here who has perfect skin. Buy whatever she tells you to purchase. The two products she's recommended for my sensitive combination skin--Fresh Farmacy and Aquamarina--have really helped tame my dermal tantrums.
