I made a brand-new account, tried again, and it still would not let me book. So no, this was not user error. Your system is just a mess. Calling did not help either. I actually wanted to book over the phone, and instead of helping me, I was pushed right back to booking online -- on the same broken website that was already not working. That made the whole thing even more ridiculous. Then I got a vague answer about techs making their own schedules, but no real solution for actually booking with the person I wanted. So basically, the website is broken, the phone is unhelpful, and the customer is left to just figure it out? Be serious. I have never seen a business act so uninterested in taking somebody's money. At a certain point it felt like I was begging this salon to let me become a client, and that is absurd. Fix the website. Fix the communication. Fix the chaos. Until then, people should know exactly what kind of frustration they're signing up for. read more

I go to Jazmine and she never disappoints with my nails. I show her a picture and she nails it every time. Sometimes I will just give her control and even then my nails turn out perfect. She's very attentive and takes care of my nails. The salon itself is still relatively new. The atmosphere is like most nail salons. They do offer beverages while you are getting serviced. read more

I had a horrible experience their yesterday. I got dip powder nail overlay over my natural nails and I got two nail repairs on my thumb. I got two designs and I was charged $106. That seemed very excessive and very overpriced. I asked for an itemized receipt to show what I was charged and they told me that we don't have itemized receipts and gave me a generic receipt. So I have no idea why I was charged $106 other than they just decided to charge me that in addition to it the Nail Tech named Honney ruined my nails. All of my nails are uneven on the free edge and all different shapes and thickness. The tip that she put on my left thumb is at a weird jagged angle. My thumbnails are so thick that I can't even understand how they're this thick. In addition she gave me sharp points on every one of my nails, even though I asked for a square set they're so sharp that they're scratching me . My nails are rounded in the middle, they are dipped down at like a U-shaped in the middle and I have no idea why she would do that if I asked for square nails. She constantly nicked me with the drill and ripped up my cuticles. Then tried to high it with cuticle oil. I have pictures and videos or all of this. Today was my first and last time at Metropolitan Nail Bar in Ft Washington. I'm frequently in the area, noticed this place, and am finally getting around to giving them a try. What a huge mistake!!! Praying I don't come out with some disease I didn't go in with. First, let me tell you the good qualities, and then share the bad as I share the experience. The salon itself is very clean and modern looking at first glance. Bright red chairs, beautiful chandelier, well lit, and generally appealing. However, there was a lot of debris on the floor in different places. I'm not sure how often they sweep, but there was at least one person I observed who could have spot swept. At the station where I was being seated, it looked as if someone was eating cookies and left crumbs all over the floor around the pedicure station. I was just so thankful that I wasn't greeted at the door by the usual funk of old dirty laundry and chemicals that I let that go. After all, some client left a Starbucks cup at their pedicure station, so it could have been the fault of a client. BUT, why not sweep it up before seating a new client there? You should never seat a client in or around filth. Strike 1. The lady who worked on my nails was friendly and patient. However, she seemed extremely rushed. I get that there are other customers; however, we are each paying at least $115. You need to deliver on the service you agree to render and do so with some attention to what you're doing. Instead of feeling relaxed and refreshed coming out, I felt unwelcome and rushed out--after taking my money, of course. Strike 2! While the salon is new, seemingly clean, and modern looking, I did not see signs of concern for sanitation and hygiene. No sanitizing sleeves, machines or solutions. No cleaning at the respective stations. No wiping anything off that they pull from the little caddies they carry around. They clearly don't care for their customers' safety and well being. Strike 3! I was still willing to give them a chance bc even the best have bad days, but even I have a limit to how much abuse I will accept. The last straw for me was when I got home and washed with gentle soap and water, my nails burned like crazy for hours. I recalled telling the technician to be careful with the sander bc my nails are thin. She just grunted and speedily finished ripping across them all. You see, nail technicians these days don't properly trim hang nails, gently remove dry cuticles or otherwise care for your hands and nails. They want to just rip through, slap chemicals on, burn you under the uv lamp and collect the fees as quickly as possible. Your satisfaction, safety, and comfort do not get factored in whatsoever, especially in salons around here. This was my experience at Metropolitan Nail Bar, and I will not be going back. I also noticed after I got home that my nails look like they are a week past application bc there's such a big gap between the edges of my nail beds and where the polish begins. What a waste of money and time this was. ...And, I'm still praying I that I came out as I went in: healthy and disease free. I'm not so sure, given their lack of sanitation. I was also moved by how many woman come there for some self care. I wondered if others were having their hands and toes injured without care and just tolerating poor service like this. Women and men are spending a LOT of money for services that this business apparently seems to think they don't even deserve. Shame on Metropolitan Nail Bar. If you open a businesses here, you should value your customers here. You should provide much better service than this. No. I would not recommend this place, and I will never return. read more

Came here for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. Let's start with what was good. I think this is a new location so it wasn't crowded and I was instantly greeted. The shop itself is very nice. It's clean and vibrant and they offer you beverages. The gentleman who did my pedicure really worked that oil foot massage and my feet were super soft. Now what I didn't like. After they started my pedicure, the manager comes up to me and quoted me a different price then what she originally told me it would be. She told me it would be an extra $10 to remove the gel nail polish on my toes and then if I got a gel pedicure, it would be another $5 . Ok, whatever, I decide I might as well get the gel on my toes too then. The gentleman who did my pedicure, wasn't the best at shaping my nails. I asked for round and he couldn't figure out what I meant. I almost told him not to do the manicure because to be fair, I have wide nail beds and my nails are naturally square. When he did the manicure, he didn't clean under the nail, didn't try to make the nails even, and then when he painted the nails, they all looked different colors because of the number of coatings he may put on one nail versus the other. Also, because he was rushing, even though I got gel nails, he had to redo them because they were still "wet" and got messed up. We made it work. When I came to the desk to pay for my services, the woman (assuming manager) asked me how I wanted to pay, I told her ApplePay. As she's processing my payment I happen to pick up a business card and look at it. When I turned it over, I see 15% off for all services Monday through Thursday. I asked if she had given me a discount- spa gel pedicure and regular gel manicure for $100. She said no, the discount was only if you paid cash. I told her she didn't tell me that and her response was, that's why I asked how you were paying. I just kindly told her next time, there should be better advertising or say something because I literally could have / would have paid cash. Nonetheless, it wasn't the worst place I've been. This was my first time with my technician, Logan, and he did a pretty good job! He listened as we discussed my desire for a manicure and an acrylic fill-in. He shaped my nails very nicely and repaired the acrylic where needed. His suggested designs looked good as well. This business is fairly new, so everything still looks fresh and clean. I like that they use real towels for customers to dry their hands, unlike some nail shops that use cheap paper towels that disintegrate when they get wet. I also hate when the nail tech tears just a tiny piece of paper towel to use at their station, as if a full or half sheet is costing a ton of money! My hope is that they keep offering above-average service and continue to hire techs who speak English well in addition to being highly skilled in nail services. read more

So I went to the nail bar on Friday . I had Q to do my pedicure the service was great. I then need a gel fill in so I sat with Cindy to have a manicure and gel fill in Cindy said I didn't need a manicure wasting money the way she did my fill in was amazing. The service was Awesome she's a great nail tech. BUTT I needed a fresh set of medium natural lashes and I was set up. Set up is what it was. The owner had me followed the older lady to do them. I was hesitant but I said let me give her the benefit of the doubt and so I sat in the chair and Lord and behold she jacked my lashes up then I asked her to take them off why did I do that so another lady Jen could do them over and oh my God my lashes look like somebody who's been playing in tracks trying to put tracks in somebody's hair my damn eye is swollen and I'm not satisfied and they charge me 40 f****** dollars and I just want to basic lashes so I paid and I kept the pushing because I had something to do but baby I'm going up in there today I got pictures to prove it woke up with a swollen eye and there's nothing I can do about it because I can't take these off and put a fresh set on because my freaking eyes are probably infected with the bull that they put on them to take them off I am so disappointed in this s*** and I pray that someone is licensed like that old lady to do cosmetology lashes if not I have a problem with that I don't know what to do but I'm going to find out what to do if they in their practicing cosmetology without a license I'm going to get to the bottom of it service is great don't get your lashes done here unless you know somebody cuz baby my lashes are jacked up and I have a wedding I'm so mad. read more

I have had service here 4 times, 2/4 were mediocre at best. This will be my last time. The tech was rushed because of the number of people. Several people walked out. My appointment was at 4:30pm and I still sat for over 45 minutes only to be told if I didn't like my nail polish it was best to come back the next day (my fault for going for it!). Didn't finish until 6:26 pm for gel mani and regular pedi which was $86 because the 15% off only applies if you pay cash M-Th. Went back today because my polish wasn't neat and I didn't like the color. I got screamed at for asking to see 3 different colors. Not polished on my nails, but in the box. She told me to pick a color because she wasn't going to keeping changing my polish. Needless to say the exchange became unprofessional. The manager finished my nails. No apology and my nails are still mediocre at best. Poor customer service. read more

The shape is tapered when I asked for square, all the designs are on the wrong fingers, the lines are sloppy and the gems are crooked. The nail tech brought over the manager to assist on the snow flakes and they still came out subpar. If there was no one in the building that can do what I requested then that should've been told to me and I could've gotten something else that I would've been satisfied with. I had sally but didn't get the name of the one who worked on my husband. They both did an excellent job. Offered refreshments as well. Place is clean. Massage felt great. Sally asked how I was going to pay. I wasn't sure so I asked how much if I pay cash. She said there's a 15% discount so I did that. Price wise it was cheaper for me to go here than to Virginia. I was so excited to have a nice new nail salon in my area. I was looking for a quality nail tech and said I would go here and try out a few different people until I found one that I liked, which I did!! However, because we went to another person initially, they had an issue with my husband and I changing. My husband scheduled an appointment online with the new tech, but when he got there the manager saw him and said that person was now busy all day (online said otherwise) and tried to send him to our original person. SIR!!! WE DIDN'T LIKE THE QUALITY OF HER WORK!! FURTHERMORE, THIS IS OUR MONEY AND WE CAN GO TO WHOEVER WE WANT TO!! Finally, he put the massage oil on me and told me to rub it into my hands. There is a man there that does nails. He will be very nice at first and as soon as it's time for color he loses his entire attitude. He was talking about his wife's pregnancy and everything up until we reached the part where it was time to polish. I asked for "bubble bath" and "put it in neutral". He irritatingly says "we dont have that". Sensing his irritation and not wanting things to escalate further I said "ok what do you have?" I was getting French and I do not like pink bases on French nails as my preference. He puts on this deep pink bases- you know the kind. I said "I don't really like that. Do you have anything more brown- natural tone?" He irritatingly removes the polish and starts to polish again. I hate the color. He asks me if I like it. I said not really... do you have anything other than those two? He says "No I showed you everything we have." I said "ok then just go ahead with this." Now usually places have Bubble Bath and Put it in Neutral so this was annoying to me too but it wasn't that deep. He goes to put on the french tip. He's not polishing the tip white and going in to clean it up. Oh no. He uses the thin brush and tries to paint a line across with his shaky hand so all the lines looked shaky. I just sat there. He says what's the problem? I said can we go in and clean It up with the brush? I lie to you not- this man gets up and walks away. I'm sitting there with these cold ass towels on my legs that had since cooled all the way down since they originally placed them there and this thick ass cream they spread on my legs. I really wanted to lose my shit- but my best friend who was pregnant was in town and I didn't want to cause in scene in front of her. I did however talk to the owner and he pissed me off the most. His excuse was the guys is expecting twins and he is stressed. If that is not the lamest excuse for a weak ass man I don't know what his. He isn't carrying the twins so what relevancy is that. Jazmine- the girl who did my bestfriends nails was actually pregnant and didn't act like that even when my best friend asked her to clean her toes up. She was Very professional. The owner is part to blame for allowing this behavior. The man who did that to me will do that to others and he will be the reason this nail shop fails and the owner will only be able to blame himself. The owner asked me to come back and I was offended after he just defended his disrespectful employee with that weak excuse like he is carrying the child him self. My Nail Lady I normally go to doesn't work on Wed and that was the only day I could go, so I decided to try this nail salon since it was so close to where I live. The Gentlemen who did my nails was very professional but my dip set nails were thin and not dipped as much as other nail salons plus he filed so much my nail were sore. Of course three days later three nails were chipped and I had to return. He did fix the nails no charge but the three nails he fixed were not the same exact shade at the rest of my nails. He did not offer to match the colors he just mentioned I need a new set and use acrylic next time. They were getting busy at the time and I knew he was not going to offer to fix the colors because he was ready to take care of other customers. Plus the initial price was $20 more than the nail salon I normally go to. Also thought was getting the discount for Mon-Thurs. Nope that's for cash only customers. I won't return. I do remember the Gentlemens name but since he was nice I won't disclose that . I couldn't wait to go back to Regular Nail Tech at another salon. read more
