I've already written a review raving about the facials I've had gotten with Anne. Unfortunately she doesn't work there anymore but I have total confidence in all the workers there! I just got my hair done by Travis last week and I am so utterly excited about it. We were both bummed I didn't get a before pic because my hair was so damaged and dry and bleh. I had come in not really knowing what I wanted but knew that I wanted change and he gave me an amazing change that was within my comfort zone. He layered my hair beautifully and gave me a great straight fringe. The color is off the charts! I had multiple layers of gross colors and he gave me a very natural dark color that slowly and perfectly blends into lighter shades. And tippings! Travis gave me these amazing orangish brown tips that resembled one of my previous colors but looked SO AMAZING!!!!! To finish he gave me a BEAUTIFUL blow dry! He took his explaining everything, offered me drinks to make me more comfortable, and definitely gained a new customer! Thanks SO much Travis!!!!! read more

I came to this location to try out a pixie cut as I've had one in the past, but was not completely satisfied with it. I wanted to see someone who regularly cuts short hair. From the initial phone call until I left the location following my appointment I was completely satisfied. When I called to make an appointment, the girl who answered was extremely helpful and recommended a stylist for me based on my needs and concerns. I looked at their Yelp page and noticed they had fantastic deals for first-time visits as well. When I first arrived I was pleased by how clean and organized the location was not to mention the wonderfully soothing scents. My stylist, Natalia, greeted me promptly and directed me to a changing room where I could swap out my shirt for a robe/smock before coming into the salon area. She consulted me with dozens of pictures on her tablet to help hone in on what exactly it was I was looking for. She was very open to hear my hair goals and did not hesitate to provide much-needed suggestions. Following the consultation, Natalia did some wonderful aromatherapy and a neck/shoulder massage prior to my haircut. She spoke to me throughout and continued to ask questions to make sure we were still on the same page. She gave me a perfect haircut for what I wanted that would match my face shape. She even went the extra mile to show me a few different ways to style it. I am incredibly satisfied and look forward to returning to this location. read more

She only has certain days on duty. I read some review here mentioned Joyce, tho I m not sure if it's the same person, while my Joyce is a sweet graceful experienced lady, expert, I would say. I have gone to Lux a couple of times in the past years. I have had some difficulty with them in the past, but this time was by far the best experience. I booked Jacobie for a haircut and a botanical hair treatment. Jacobie was very professional and knowledgeable about how I should cut my hair and the necessary products that I would need to get my hair back to a healthy shine. A couple of months earlier, I got a haircut and ombre done. The end results of this haircut were not good. Eek! Luckily, Jacobie fixed my haircut and was able to recommend how often I should get treatments and what products I should use. Along with being professional, Jacobie is also honest. She recommended several products for me, but suggested I only get a few since I was on a budget. At the end of my haircut, she put some of Aveda lipstick on me. I have to say that I really liked the color and the texture. I most definitely will be going back to Jacobie in the future for treatments, haircuts and any dying I do. She is one of the more affordable hairstylists at Lux, but is very knowledgeable and talented! Also, I have to say that it's really great that this place only uses cruelty-free products and that all products are plant based. That is honestly why I chose Lux in the first place. It makes me feel better that I am not putting harsh chemicals in my hair. Overall, there isn't a reason to go to any other hair salon when Lux has great hair dressers AND amazing cruelty-free product. read more

Everytime I have come to this salon, my hair always turns out better than I imagined. They are highly accommodating and always use Aveda products which I highly prefer as they are vegan and make my hair feel and look incredibly healthy. Allison did an awesome job on my hair! I did a big change as my hair was down 3/4ths of my back and cut near shoulder length by preference. They have all products used on your hair on display to purchase right there! Very disappointed that this salon is unfriendly to moms with kids. I came in for an appointment and didn't think twice that I couldn't bring my 5yo with me or I would have brought a friend with me. When I got there I was told that kids cannot be in the area where they cut hair and the place where they can stay is the front where there is no visibility to make sure nothing happens. And of course I drove a distance to get here... I like this place but this was a very bad experience and I will NOT make another appointment here again. This was my first time at the hair salon at Lux Aveda and they did not disappoint. I got my hair colored by Jacobie and she is simply amazing and super sweet. She started off with a mini consultation to go over my hair, complimentary beverage, and neck and shoulder massage before I even started the hair color process. Jacobie was very knowledgeable and professional and took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted and was looking for. I am sure that I am just one of millions of happy clients who have been eager to leave our resounding, exuberant and excellent reviews. Even though I realize that my review will get "lost" among the "fan mail", I was getting ready for work this morning and I was so grateful for LUX making that part of my life so much easier that I just had to share it! The moment I enter the salon I am treated with kindness, respect, and professionalism. I am peaceful, and, because of my past experiences, I know that the result is going to be fabulous! The artist I always trust with my hair is James. He is incredible! He is creative and talented, and his experience and skills make him invaluable. James listens carefully to my expectations and evaluates my needs based on what I tell him as well as what my lifestyle and environment require that I don't even think of mentioning on my own. The next part of the experience is magical. Somehow, as I am perfectly relaxed (which is rare for me), drinking in the fun and positive energy, he uses his precision and expertise to create something amazing with my hair. I can't explain it, but it is PERFECT! I always leave LUX completely blown away. You'd think it would be "expected" by now but he always exceeds my expectations. This is not the end of my tale. The "magic" continues well beyond my appointment. Every morning I am grateful for James and LUX. As the name suggests, Lux Aveda uses the Aveda brand of products and I use this salon particularly for the "naturally derived" hair dyes they use. I never get my hair dyed but I thought it would be fun to try something new. I ended up going to a different salon that ruined my hair and ending up making me partially blonde when I just wanted a brunette balayage needless to say I was devastated and hesitant to get it re done because I didn't want to make it worse. But then I stumbled upon a Groupon for Lux Aveda and decided to try it out. I booked an appointment with Jacobie and that was the best decision of my life. Not only was she super friendly and amazing but she explained all the fancy hair terms to me and showed me pictures to make sure I knew exactly what I wanted. I had the worst experience there 12/5 my stylists was Alison I went for the shinning treatment which was nice and I decided to pay the extra so I wouldnt go home with wet hair for my birthday and she did not know how to curl my hair. It was simply awful and looked so terrible. I am not one to complain but when you are paying more to get your hair styled. It was also still wet from my bottom and it was a huge mess. She even told me I should curl it again before my birthday party to make matters worst and they ended up charging me $90 instead of $85. The stylist I worked with seemed to know what she was doing initially however toward my 3rd and 4th time visits she showed inconsistencies on her job. Her work was never 5 star job to begin with, but the last root touch up she did was flat out beginner's job. When confronted, rather than listening she insisted she did the perfect job but she just can never seem to satisfy me as if I was some unreasonably picky customer who is color-blind. The service I needed was no brainer, applying my natural base color for root touch up on my dull looking highlighted color she did previously, which I didn't complain much. Throughout the whole time, I clearly explained and requested to her that I wanted ash tone, and to take out the redness/orange tone I had all over my hair. She colored my base with red or chocolate brown and insisted that was the matching color. She snapped at me as soon as I mentioned the color doesn't seem to match, and she snarled at me saying she doesn't understand what I'm complaining about. To make it clear, I wasn't even complaining! I only said the color looked orange or red than the previous root touch up. I never felt so unwelcomed after paying hundreds of dollars for services. I just canceled the appointment for color correction she offered as it would be no use to work with someone that doesn't see things eye to eye. Another hair stylist that acts and talks as if she is a high-end professional stylist, while her skill is actually below average in the suburban neighborhood. I will be going back to my stylist in Beverly Hills. I rather deal with the long drive than dealing with such cheap service for not so cheap price. read more

I have had a massage there it was so relaxing and incredibly wonderful. This atmosphere transforms you into a new person inside and out. Wade is the coolest most fun person you will meet. So I am mainly giving this place only 2 stars because of the way they run their business. First though, Let me talk about the hair cut I got- So i got an A line haircut by Amanda which turned out ok. My only dislike about it is that in the back I asked her to make it short- length wise up to the hairline but she didn't. I didn't notice it until I got home. So now when it grows out... it's going to look strange. Ok so besides that, the ONLY reason I came here was because I had purchased a GROUPON and thought I would be getting a deal- a nice haircut at a nice place. Well I got the nice haircut but I really didn't appreciate how the salon "fools" their customers. I first came here when I took my mom to get her haircut with the same Groupon. So... the groupon was- $55 haircut for only $25. Anything above $55, then you pay the difference. So I made an appointment for my mom, got the cut, and when I went up to them to pay they say: The total is $65, and with the Groupon, you will have to pay the difference of $10. I thought... ok this is for my mom, whatever I'll pay it because she likes her haircut. A couple months later I decide to use my Groupon, so I call to make an appointment, spoke to a girl named Janet and she said to me, "Oh, you have the groupon? Well I'm going to have to have my manager call you back because she handle's the scheduling for clients with the groupon." I thought, ok? Really? Then I asked her what time she gets in and she said not until 3pm. So I thought that was kind of strange that clients with the Groupon were handled differently. So I wait for the manager to call me because I had left my name and number with Janet and I didn't get any call. Finally I decided to call myself at 7:30pm (mind you they close at 8pm) and I get a hold of the manager and make my appointment. I just thought how it was VERY unprofessional of them not calling me back. So i speak to the manager and I SPECIFICALLY ask for someone that was $55. She says, ok and I make an appointment with Amanda. So i come in for my appointment, get my haircut, and when I go to pay, they ring me up and say $65. I thought to myself... WHAT THE HECK?! I SPECIFICALLY ask for someone that was $55 so I didn't have to pay extra! Well I didn't argue or make a scene. I just paid and thought to myself... I am NEVER coming back HERE if this is how they are going to treat their customer. Regardless I know the price was a bit cheaper than what they normally charge, but they are very deceptive with their GROUPON. So beware! If you are going to use a GROUPON- they will make you pay extra on top of that. They didn't just do it to me once, they did it to me twice... read more

So this place advertises heavily on Groupon. I am normally quite wary of hair places on groupon, but I've received some successful blowouts (at Addiction, Orange and Myblow LA, Irvine) so I thought that I would give this place a chance, in spite of the location. I had talked to a receptionist who set me up with a new stylist. I was excited and out the door but you know, OC traffic. I was 10 minutes late, unfortunately so I decided to give them the courtesy of calling while I was on my way. My last hair appointment made me wait 40 minutes, and prior to that I usually wait around 5-10 minutes or so, so I didn't think this would be a problem. Such is life in the "hair" world. Well, I thought wrong. Here's how the convo went down: Me; "Hi, I have an app't. and I am sorry but I am going to be about 10 minutes late." Receptionist: "Ok. Let me just check with the stylist. (Checks with stylist) Oh, I am sorry; she has a client after you so she can't take you." Me: Sorry? (Shocked as I had never had this happen before). Receptionist: "She has a client after you so she can't take you." Me: "Seriously? For 10 minutes? Ok. I guess I won't be trying this place out. LOL" I pulled over to the side of the road, and promptly booked with MyBlow LA for a blow out, only, given the time. They were more than happy to take me and I actually used a "blow dry" groupon. Incidentally, they cut and color hair, there, too. Then I returned home and promptly cancelled with Lux Aveda. Moral: There is a reason that places are forced to use endless groupons for elaborate procedures like haircuts and colors. Perhaps the management (Wade Z) should start by taking a good look at the customer service of their staff, for starters and they could save both time and money--even on clients who are ten minutes late! Also, beware of the latest reviews. All 1 stars, unfortunately, so I am glad that it worked out this way in the end. read more

Hair is ruined! The girl didn't know how to do extensions, so I had them remove, after spending 4 hours there and all my old extensions were destroyed, as well as my hair. Had to go to a new salon this morning and have all my hair cut short from the bad cut and damage from ripping out extensions and leaving all the glue and some tape strips in hair. So happy I didn't spend $450 to order their new vomor hair. That would have been a huge waste of money. At least my hair will eventually grow back and I can go somewhere else for new hair extensions, if I ever decide to go that route again. read more

I am one of those people who will let anyone with a pair of scissors and a basic knowledge of hair cutting cut my hair, I could really care less. I don't have a hair stylist I go in times of needs. Whomever is around will do. However this all changed yesterday with my trip to Lux Salon. I woke up, looked in the mirror and said to myself .. I have to get my hair cut TODAY! so I called Lux, they're right down the street from my work and I had been there years before but the lady I went to left shortly after I got my hair done. Luckily they had a bunch of appointments open for later that day. PHEW. The atmosphere is very relaxing, and they offer you stuff to drink while you wait. The staff was really friendly. The guy that cut my hair was fantastic! His name was Sebastian, ask for him! He did a fabulous job. I got JUST was I asked for and he went above and beyond. I am in the growing out phase of my hair and get nervous every time I cut it because I'll be losing some of the length I worked so hard to get. Luckily he was really good about keeping it. He also fixed some of the things my ill-trained friends with scissors had done. I have never before been so pleased with the whole hair cutting experience. Additionally they give you a complementary neck rub before you get your hair cut which is great. It cost $45 dollars which I felt was way worth it! I highly recommend this place and Sebastian in particular, I plan on making him my regular go-to guy when I need a hair cut. That's saying a lot for me! read more

I purchased a $100 Groupon voucher and still left paying $165 out of pocket AND despite all that money the stylist DID NOT DO WHAT I ASKED. I had Jr. Stylist Lilly and I thought my hair style request was pretty simple. I wanted a trim and long layers (basically a clean up of what I already had) I also already had a grown out ombre color/highlights that I wanted retouched. NOT THAT DIFFICULT people!! I waited a month to write my review (1) bc I was so put off by my experience that I wanted to make sure I only wrote about the facts and not a little extra flare. (2) I was hoping to "get used" to my new hair and it would eventually grow on me - NOPE! The cut is fine, I have no real complaints about that other than she cut too little but whatever, better less than more with hair cuts. As far as color, she gave me 2 options of pretty much the same thing. Highlights only (no color) for $190 or highlights only for $230. I asked her what the difference was, and she said that the more expensive option will require a little bit more time (30 min) therefore the cost goes up. Ummm so you give me one option were you do a half assed job or I pay up $40 extra dollars for you to do the job I wanted??? OK I guess I'm the sucker for opting for option # 2. I have naturally dark brown hair that picks up color very fast and I told her that it does beforehand but bc "she knows better" she did not heed my warning and over bleached my hair then used a toner to make it darker. So basically she got rid of my already existing blonde highlights bc she F-ed up on the ones she did and made all my hair one color. So instead of the ombre I wanted and paid for, I really have grown out highlights that need the roots retouched. I WILL NEVER GIVE LUX ANOTHER DIME!!! read more

This review is for services received from Jasmine Cendejas. She was recommended to me because Travis no longer works there. Personally, I've always gone to Aveda Salons for color over the last 8 years. Whether I've lived in the Bay Area or Southern California (various cities). I always get an overall color with glossing coat/treatment, which runs me about $85 + tip. I ran across a Groupon deal, $45 for $100 services. Thought I'd save some money while still getting Aveda services so I bought it on a whim--wrong. CONSULTATION (UPSELL): Jasmine was adamant with up-selling both services and products. She gave me a few options for service: Just all-over color is $120, if with "Face Contouring" highlights and botanical/glossing treatment, it's $145. She's robotic offering these services, it was so awkward! Nonetheless, I opted for the upsells--I'm a sucker for these, might as well get the full experience (I thought). Not worthed BTW, read on... TREATMENT/SERVICE: Salon is nice, well kept, well stocked with products. Serene because of the signature Aveda scents. I had a very positive first impression, for sure. However, Jasmine was rushing the coloring process, she moved quickly but pulled on my hair and it was rather painful. She is very ROUGH. Kept apologizing every time she pulled too hard. I have stick straight Asian hair, it's not like I had curly or tangled hair. I was not able to relax unfortunately at all. Tearjerker for 2 hours. RESULT: Color came out the same as I've had at other salons, deep chocolaty color (which is good, at least she didn't kill my hair). The "face contouring" highlights were anything but face contouring, I would not get these again. They are too scarce and uneven, therefore non-functional. There are almost no highlights visible on the right. She had someone else (Samantha) do that side. At the end, she never communicated or checked on the evenness on both sides. It felt like she just wanted to get the "job" done, literally. How can you do it right when you rush anyway? The botanical treatment for $15 was 3 minutes, she SPRAYED this treatment onto my hair instead of massaging into my hair and scalp, like she sold me at the time. I could have sprayed from a bottle myself at home too... CONCLUSION: As I'm writing this review, I can't help but feel aggravated/underwhelmed because of the systematic/robotic service, unpassionate stylist, rough and rushed service. Jasmine went to work on me not knowing I had purchased a Groupon deal, I can't imagine what I would do if I had to pay $145 for this painful of an experience. In the end I ended paying more than I usually would at other Aveda Salons anyway and I would not come back and DO NOT RECOMMEND Jasmine for service. I don't feel fair for me to rate 1 star, because the salon itself is still nice--but I still cringe now thinking about all the hair that was pulled out during treatment. read more

I have fine, limp hair and Sarai made me look like a Peggy Bundy knock off all weekend! (This is very awesome, I swear.) Aveda salons let you choose a service before you start like a neck/shoulder massage, hand massage or rotating "specials" like aromatherapy. So I got a neck massage and then pretty much let Sarai get rid of about 3 inches of gross hair. I'm really happy with the actual haircut - I told her I was low maintenance (read: too lazy to do much to my hair in the morning) so it has some layers but not so crazy I feel like a misshapen shrubbery if I don't bust out the blow dryer and iron every morning. But like the review below, Sarai's blow out is a freaking work of art. Can I give it more stars? read more

It was my first visit. I live in the area and bought a Groupon for $100 worth of service plus I would receive $10 in product. I was greeted with a very warm welcome and offered coffee or tea. NICE touch! Then I had my consultation with Lilly. She listened to what I was wanting and gave me a few options. The groupon did not cover everything and I ended up paying an additional $60. I was looking for a wash, cut, color & style. I was told it would take about 3 hours. Ok I planned for that. I did a lot of waiting and waiting before she got started. Not sure what all that waiting was about. Now I was beginning to get antsy because I was on a time schedule and had to get to work. I ended up there for a total of 3.75 hours and by this time I didn't get to pick out any product because I needed to rush to work. It is an upscale salon, very nice people and Lily did a great job with my hair. My only complaint was that it took way too long and it is highly priced. read more

I have been going to this salon since it was at its original location about 10 years ago off and on. I've had good experiences and some bad I thought I would express why I decided to try another salon. 1. Overpriced. I really don't think you get what you pay for here. They throw in hand and neck massages but for a trim and highlights I was paying $200 a pop every 6 weeks my hair is shoulder length and fine. I don't think I knew any better. This was for one of the senior stylists. 2. Tipping. My stylist liked to use an assistant and juggled me and other clients at the same time. I never knew if I was supposed to tip the assistant, the person that massaged my hands, someone that brought me water...it was all kinda confusing. I always tipped but in the end it racked up my bill even when I didn't ask for the assistant or hand massage. 3. Hair. I always wanted to go bright blonde and my stylist was afraid to take me there in order not to damage it. I understand that, but I don't understand how you think I can pay $200 and be unhappy with unchanged hair. Everytime I got my hair done no one noticed. 4. Time. I always spent 3 hours in the salon because my stylist was working on other people or did this toner/base shift lingo like an experiment which tacked on time to the appointment. I don't know but sitting in a chair for 3 hours isn't my idea of a good time. I want to get my hair done and go. I do love Aveda products and Lux was always accommodating but in the end I needed a change. I decided to go to Luca Bella, got exactly the blonde I wanted in 1.5 hours at half the price. I take care of my hair like there's no tomorrow... so when I heard about this Aveda, I had to hand over an important part of me to the professionals. When I arrived, I was greeted and offered water or tea, which is a pleasant gesture. My stylist Sebastian went past my expectations... all I wanted was a slight trim and an improved version of the current hair cut I had: long, layered, and side bangs across the forehead. I got exactly what I wanted. Holy cow, I felt like a million bucks by the time I left Aveda. After that fantastic experience, I decided to return for a facial. I had the luxury of being pampered by Anne and the quality of my skin has improved since. The scents of the products she used was not overpowering since I'm not fond of strongly scented lotions, creams, etc. She walked me through the entire facial and the ambiance of the massage room was soothing as they played nature music. A few weeks later, I went back for a body massage... from Mike. He's one cool cat. Since I play sports and enjoy the rough outdoors, my feet take quite a beating and he knew exactly what to focus on. He started off the session with a foot massage while getting to know my expectations. He seriously understands his clients and I felt like the body massage was the perfect time-out from my lifestyle. read more

She did everything in speed up mode,less than 5 minutes neck massage,only one time washing,less than 10 minutes hair-cut,just cut the length when hair were wet,then blowed dry,Done ! That's it! Oh my !I asked her why not do detailing?She said because I chose the style that no need detailed.REALLY?! I guess she is pregnant so I said nothing and left her 15% tip. I come from China a famous city,the stylist in the best salon in my hometown,always spends 40minutes in hair cutting.Who tells me ,is it a difference of culture or I met bad service in Lux?Plz reply following,thanks! read more

I waited a few weeks to write a review when I wasn't so upset and in the moment. I paid $45 for $100 Groupon that had expired so I called to inquire if they honored at promo or face value and was told they would go ahead and take it as if it hadn't expired. They were offering a similar deal on their own website that was also $45 for $100 so it was the same as if I had bought that instead, or so I was told by phone. So I made an appt with whomever had an opening the next day with at least one good review which was Jasmine. When I met her she asked how I wanted my hair cut/styled and said she understood what I wanted. She also applied the $20 "conditioning treatment" I specifically ordered only to get full value of $100 Groupon (as other reviewers suggested). Also there was no mention of a mini head/neck or hand massage I have rarely voiced dissatisfaction with a stylist in past but I had to this time. I also thought it would look better once I styled it myself . I gave her a larger tip as Groupon suggests for the full value of the service. I paid more for things because I had no reason to think they wouldn't honor the Groupon value of $100. They backtracked on me only after the extra charges not before when it would have cost me less! They said they would allow me the $10 credit for $20 product but I didn't want to look for anything at that point other than the exit I paid $110 for haircut, tip and conditioning treatment (I didn't want or need) when I had just lost income so really could not afford extra $50... especially for a cut that looked like I didn't get one. BTW not one person I know noticed that I even got a hair cut so it wasn't just my opinion . This review is for the spa only. I purchased a Groupon a while ago, for 3 services for $99. What an awesome deal!!! I ended up getting 2 facials and a massage. The facials were a mixed experience. The first time, it was fine. Not the best facial I ever had, but very relaxing and definitely refreshing. However, one of the towels they put on my face smelled like mildew. A disgusting shock. It made me paranoid about getting another stanky gross towel later on, but thankfully this did not happen again. The second time, I showed up 15 minutes early, and ended up waiting 20 minutes after my appointment time because they were running late. Not only that, but they cut 5 minutes off my facial and the lady seemed like a you-know-what! She also was lazy doing extractions, and it's not like my skin requires an exorbitant amount. Anyway, I was planning to get my last facial with Linsday (save the best for last), and when I tried to make an appointment I was told that she doesn't work there anymore! If that is true, it is a huge shame, because she is one of the best aestheticians I've ever had. So, I got a massage instead with.. I want to say Mike? I felt a little bit apprehensive about having a guy give me a massage, but this guy was totally awesome! He made me feel comfortable immediately, was very knowledgeable and took the pain out of my stiff muscles! I almost fell asleep on the table, and I was wired on caffeine. I had to wait about 10-15 minutes after my appointment time though, and that annoyed me initially. They should probably step up their timeliness, because 2 out of 3 late starts left a bad taste in my mouth, especially since I was jacked the second time. read more

This is a long overdue review. I remember coming here a couple years ago with an appointment for a facial. I got there early as they suggested and to my surprise, my esthetician no where to be found. The lady at the front told me that she would be a little late. Okay, fine (I was thinking 5/10 minutes). AN HOUR AND A HALF TO ALMOST TWO HOURS LATER SHE FINALLY ARRIVES LOOKING LIKE A HOT MESS AND WITH NO APOLOGY WHATSOEVER!! I was pretty upset at this point, but decided to let it slide. The facial I got was not relaxing at all, my lady was very rough and did not know what she was doing... She also ended my time early and didn't finish the package I paid for just so she could move onto another customer. Worse experience EVER. I have never came back since. I would expect at least some kind of apology, but no, nothing at all. I wish I got her name so I could call her out on it, but too late now. This rating is for my hairstylist Carley who seemed to be having an off day when I came for my appointment (SOL). First red flag was her taking too long to get the color ready, then getting a bitchy attitude when I mentioned I couldn't wait for the Aveda signature head n neck massage (had a rough day but I wasn't being demanding, just been offered this service at plenty of other Aveda schools and salons with polite service, btw I never got the complimentary massage from Carley who passed the job on to a colleague instead at the end of the service- while I watched her do it on her friend/family member the moment the new client came in which I found odd.. dude chick I wasn't expecting a complete spa experience but at least be a little more pleasant and provide better customer service. read more

I forget the name of the girl that did my hair. I guess that's for the better though, for her at least, not for future clients who get in her chair. I asked for Lauren Conrad dirty blonde, I got Leprechaun orange. At that time my hair was bleach blonde so there's no reason orange should have been the result. I thought I could get used to it, I couldn't so I called and they let me come back to fix it that same day. When I went to pay for it I had a $50 gift card I got online the ditzy receptionist explained it was only applicable if I got my hair cut which I did not. Uhhhhhhh, it didn't say that anywhere so how can you just throw limitations on it? I was so annoyed I just payed around $140 for my overprocessed hair and left. Never again. read more

So, I didn't really know what to except because I purchased the $100 groupon deal, and you never know with Groupons, it's hit or miss sometimes. But I was in desperate need of a new stylist and a haircut. I was a little nervous, I even had a dream the night before that I went in there and she chopped off all my hair and was rude with a British accent. Lol! That couldn't be further from the truth. Amanda Bock was gracious, professional and a great stylist! I chose her based on the yelp reviews and her bio on the Lux Aveda website. I wanted a senior stylist because being a former stylist myself I'm picky, I know what I want and I wanted someone with experience. I'm so happy with my haircut, it came out exactly how I wanted and she saved the length of my hair and put in just the right amount of layers. I have found my new stylist, even if she is $80 a pop, it's worth it. The salon smells divine when you walk in. I've never been to an Aveda salon before and haven't ever really used their products. But I loved the smell and the philosophy behind them so I purchased the Brilliance Heat Protector/Detangler, with the Groupon $10 product credit. I will definitely be coming back. Lots of parking, good products, friendly staff and Amanda pleasantly met all my high expectations. Now I want to go out and show off my new do. I didn't realize that the whole purchase credit needs to be used in 1 visit. She asked me if I wanted the conditioning treatment and I declined because I thought I would have a $20 credit for next time.... Redeemed a Groupon of $45 worth of $100 of services. I got a trim and a toner treatment. My appointment was with Tonya, I expressed what I wanted and she did a fabulous job Tonya is sharp, super sweet, knowledgeable, patient & takes her time to hear you out & address your concerns while giving u the correct advice explaining the details to make sure you understand while providing you with ultimate result. She gave me the best results My hair looked fresh, healthy and just perfect. I love my layered trim, it gives me volume and at the same time keeping its length. My hair was toned to a color suitable to my skin color. Thanks to her advice. Aveda is my favorite hair products; they are as organic as hair products can get - healthy for your scalp and hair. I have been to Lux Aveda for massages and for hair cuts/color. Both the day spa and hair salon are top notch. Their customer service is great and the salon has an upscale relaxed feeling. I bought a groupon for 3 one hour massages for $99. I thought this was a very good deal and for $33 a piece the massages were wonderful. I saw both the male (Mike) and female masseur (Mayra) and both were good. They have a very different style/technique and I think I preferred Myra, but only slightly. I have had my hair done by Travis twice now. The first time he did a cut, partial highlight and gloss and the second time he did a cut, partial highlight and partial low light. Overall I was very happy with the result and thought he did a good job cutting and layering my wavy / curly hair. The partial highlights grew out nicely the first time and looked natural. He really takes his time and I can tell he wants his clients to be happy. Both times he has styled by hair very well and I leave feeling beautiful. As an added bonus the neck and shoulder massage is great. Also, he isn't pushy with products at all, but gives you an honest opinion of his aveda favorites which I really appreciate it. If this review was just for Travis I would rate him 5 stars. Yes services here are pricier than other places, but they use high quality products and sometimes you get what you pay for. read more

I bought a Groupon and it had expired but I was still able to use it so I went in for a 30 minute facial with Lauren. She was AMAZING!! She asked me a bunch of questions about my skin and what I look for in a facial and then she told me what she was going to do in detail. She couldn't do a ton of extractions in the short amount of time. but she promised she'd do as much as she could. Once the facial began I knew I was in good hands. She has a super gentle touch and the extractions didn't hurt one bit. Also, the cooling mask she used made it so I didn't have an inflammation at all afterwards. A true testament to Aveda products.
