We have purchased $$$ worth of jewelry items over the last 30 years from J.B Robinson jewelers…read morewhich changed to Kay Jewelers a few years ago. In the last few of those years I have gotten fed up with the store policies and the management. We recently had a problem with a ring the had to go in for repairs because one of the diamonds has a chip in it. Now I know we got mixed up with the months we needed to bring it in for the 6 month inspection and were 11 days late getting it inspected. I will accept that. So they found this chip in one of the diamonds and was told they would not replace that diamond because it was over the 6 month inspection time. We have taken all our jewelry in for inspections within the 6 month time. We have had only one other time that a piece of jewelry had to be sent in for repairs, it was a lost diamond from a ring. that service worked ok. But this time when we sent the ring in for replacement, we requested that we wanted the damaged diamond returned to us and we had paid to have a replacement diamond on equal value. At about the same time we decided to purchase a new diamond ring to replace the one that was needing repairs. Here is where it gets a little dicey. We decided we had a banger bracelet that my wife wanted to trade in on this new ring. First they had to go back to the original price we paid but then because we used $400 of Merry Money to purchase it they subtracted that amount off the trade in value which I thought was unfair because we had purchased other jewelry in order to get that Merry Money. From that on it gets much worse. It took weeks to get the new diamond that was to replace the damaged diamond and we paid for that diamond and the new ring we had purchased with the Kay Jewelers Credit Card on a no interest for 12 months on the ring around and 6 months on a neckless chain. No to me if it is a NO INTEREST for 12 or 6 months than that is the price we would have to pay. But after I got the first statement from the credit card company I find a charge of $59.25 for promotional plan and on the next statement I find a monthly charge of $12.83 . To me that is interest and it should have been stated this in the purchase agreement. It was not or if it was it was very hard to see or find using a magnifying glass to see it. I also had a $100 credit coupon that they would not accept for either the Diamond we had to purchase or the new ring we purchased. With all the problems the manager would not do anything to make up for any of the expenses we incurred and I told the manager that I would pay the ring and chain in full but she told me I could get this NO INTEREST for 12 months and NEVER told me it had a PROMOTIONAL PLAN Charge. Later she told me it was a 2% charge paid monthly but didn't say anything about the $59.25 charge which I called the credit card company and explained that there was nothing stated on my receipt about any promotional fee. I have told the manager that WEWILL NO LONGER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM KAY JEWELERS because of the very poor service and miss informing us of these extra charges. If I could put star rating on them of -5 I would. NEVER DO ANY BUSINESS with KAY JEWELERS. They are totally unprofessional in the way they do business. I also found out that there is a 10% discount for being a Veteran which (you have to verify) I was not told anything about it. As far as I am concerned Kay owes me 10% of the three things that I purchased in the last two months . That is over $325. SO LONG KAY JEWELERS!!!!!!~!~!~

Ann and Diana both worked so patiently with me going over many different options for my trade-in and finding cost effective ways to make my dream come true. I also felt that these ladies were not pushy with sales- they really listened to me and my ideas. I really enjoyed their customer service and our laughs! I didn't make a purchase that day, however I did walk out feeling VERY encouraged, and will be back! I highly recommend this store.

I'm sad I went to Jewelry by Christopher 6585 Lexus Dr in Rockford, IL for ring repairs and…read moresizing. I took my wedding set in there October 28 to be sized up to a 7.5 and the center stone's head replaced.I picked them up after waiting over 2 weeks and was extremely disappointed. All three rings are extremely thin in back so much that they have sharp edges now and they are mis-shaped! The head is even crooked! I measured the rings and they are now size 8! After messaging Jewelry by Christopher the owner Christopher told me to come in to his shop. When I did and nicely showed him my rings falling off my finger and their razor thin backs, he immediately was extremely irrate and started yelling at us, telling us we can't say the rings are too thin, telling us he is a "master jeweler". He got red in the face and neck and started yelling at my husband, (who wasn't even speaking yet). He kept yelling "No!" and "Stop!" The strangest part was when he motioned to his own advertisement playing behind him and yelled "I have designed jewelry internationally!" He then admitted they were the wrong size and yelled he would resize them but not fix how thin they were or the crooked head mount. $540 wasted on crap work by a "master jeweler". I can't even wear my rings without them falling off and they don't fit together properly! This is insane!
