I enjoyed my experience here. My nail technicians got me in and out within one hour as I requested. Even though they finished my mani and pedi within the hour -- they didn't cut corners and still made sure my nails were to my liking. I had small talk with both my nail technicians (since I'm not from the area) and they gave me recommendations of local Vietnamese restaurants to try. I choose a baby pink color (a white with a hint of baby pink) and the gals did a great job applying such a tricky color. The lighter colors sometimes requires three coats. Prices are reasonable also. Will definitely return when I'm in town again. One more thing, they have an ATM machine and do honor debit and credit cards for their services -- but prefer tips to be only cash. read more

I had stopped going to this nail shop for a while because I moved out of the area. I just recently moved back and decided to resume visits. This nail shop no longer makes me happy. They are all very snobby and do not provide excellent customer service. For the price I am paying in a nail shop that is NOT UPSCALE, I expect to at least receive good customer service. I will also say that they have new technicians who are hit or miss with the quality of their work. I had a technician get upset because I politely asked for another coat of gel on my hands. Her tude was completely unwarranted as she had not placed the clear sealant coat yet...so remind me again why she got upset? Getting your nails done is a form of self-care that should be a relaxing experience, not a combative, stressful one. I am so happy that my friend recommended the Nail Garden to me because they are much more professional and cost the SAME. read more

This review is for Nina specifically. She's done 2 acrylic/gel polish manicures for me so far. Both times, she's been great about shaping and takes a lot of time to make sure that my acrylic nails are not overly thick or wonky in shape, constantly going back and forth to make sure that they are even. She is very gentle with her file to make sure that my natural nails aren't too thin. This time around, I got a light blue ombré design with clear pink at the bottom and she asked if I wanted glitter gel polish, to which I said yes. The end result was beautiful and I can't stop taking pictures of my nails. My mother also comes with me (she discovered this spot) and always has Lily do her nails, with great results each time. Some of the technicians can be hit-or-miss, which is why I recommend Nina and Lily. Overall, the environment is nice and the staff are polite and sweet. This is now my regular spot :) read more

As a longtime customer, I have to cut the tie. I recently went in for a pedicure and my gel polish was cracking and had bubbles. I called Lily and she said to come back so the tech can fix it. I waited 30 minutes. Two people that came in after me was seated for pedicures. I asked why I wasn't being serviced and they could not give a valid answer. I realized that they were only concerned about the paying customer. It sucks because I paid $41 dollars for a pedicure plus tip and my toe is chipping same day. The spa pedicure is $23 but I guess they charge $18 for gel polish. I honestly think they make up prices as they go or automatically include tip. They don't take credit cards anymore, I'm sure it's for reporting purposes. I found a nail salon about 5 mins away and my toe was fixed. Happy I found a new nail salon. read more

I have been coming here for so many year, usually I only get a pedicure and eye brown wax but this time since I was going on vacation I diced to get a full set. Well Nancy was on vacation the owner I was very unhappy whit the recommendation of the full set they where not even whit some bumps and not file correct. This nail spa is the worst nail place in Hawthorne , very rude & bad customer service, I asked for a specific shape . & they did the opposite of what I Asked for . Did the most & all I called and let them know that I was disappointed with my nails . And they still didn't do them correctly shaped them very off . Do not come to this place and on top of that they get upset when u tell them that they're aren't doing the shape you want . It's very unprofessional and ridiculous. read more

I was looking for a place to get my nails done with my mom for a late Mother's Day bonding thing. Yelp'd places nearby and found Lux Nailspa, which I've passed multiple times. They had good reviews and loved all the pictures of nails with designs! We just needed a simple mani + pedi but we decided to come here anyway, why not. It was Saturday afternoon about 3:30pm, one lady ahead of us, but no wait, we got sat in spa chairs next to each other right away. For both of us the water came out super hot! Ok, accident whatever, but I had to tell her twice it was too hot. I saw a pic on here that said Mani & Pedi was $27, but it turne dout to be $30.. womp that's my bad though because the pic was probably from a while ago. Anyway pedi lady asked me what I wanted and I said French tip and then she asked if I wanted it on my hands too and I said no, I just wanted all white. Another lady came to do my hands and again asks me what color and I tell her too all white. Then the lady working on my pedi continuously tries to upsell me, even after I nicely decline her. She KEEPS asking me! I know it's her job but why are you asking me about the same thing after I tell you no. I'm pretty sure she started talking shit right after that but whatever. Now on to my mani.. The lady was nice but not overly friendly. I had mostly shaped my nails already because they were bare but she cleaned them up and at first I thought it was a good job. But afterwards I saw that the paint didn't go all the way to the base so there is visible thin layer at the base and then the rest of the nail/paint is thicker. On a couple the thin layer is already chipping away. [See photo] Also before they finished they asked me to pay which is fine, I know it's so they don't get messed up. I was paying for my mom, who also got French tip on her toes as well so I was just commenting to my mom "Oh you got French too :)" and my pedi lady was like "Oh the French on her hands!" about me and I'm like no I don't want that. Then she looked annoyed. Trying to squeeze anything out of me.. I was annoyed! Before everything was dry they asked us to move so other people could sit and they didn't even put us at a dry station, just to the waiting chairs. We had to ask for change for tip and they were just not friendly about it. I tipped the woman working on my pedi and then I was looking for my mani lady and the pedi one was quick to grab the money and say "I will give" wooow! So rude! I mean I guess she was being helpful but still. So I think it's pretty obvious I won't be coming back. I'm pretty disappointed because I needed this mani to last a couple weeks but I bought white polish to touch it up myself. And since it was close and I liked the designs I was hoping I had found a new salon to go to. read more

When I heard Lily was leaving the store, I almost cried - she'd been the best manicurist I ever had! But fortunately she referred me to Tammy who's just as amazing. Woohoo - go Tammy! Tammy does excellent work. On top of being very welcoming & friendly, she's a total perfectionist when it comes to nails - something I seriously appreciate. I always leave with perfectly shaped and painted nails that last for weeks and weeks. Tammy works efficiently but doesn't rush the job - quality's never compromised and you'll still be out the door in less than 45 minutes. Even though there seems to be a different nail shop on every street, finding a good salon & manicurist ain't easy! Tammy's so worth the trip to Manhattan Beach. Horrible place! They also don't accept cards only cash which is extremely illegal. They messed up my nails and still made me pay full price. They are extremely rude too on top of it. Save yourself the trouble and do not come here. Your nails will look horrific!!!! read more

Been coming here for years. The nails are average...not great, not terrible. Could definitely be neater in my opinion. Good thing is they will get you in and out pretty quickly since they usually double team the work. My biggest issue is that you will end up paying more than the menu lists on hidden fees that they don't let you know about. I find that when I have the worker calculate my service costs in front of me, it's always cheaper than what I would've paid if I let them do it on their own. read more

Omg guys!!! I came here as a last resort and I was better off not even coming. I paid $111 for this this trash and my pedi was soooo basic like bare minimum effort. At some point it seemed like she was pretending to file just to make it seem like she was doing more than she really was hahaha I'm dead if you like super basic and mediocre nails this place is for you because they can not do any more than paint your nails. read more

I've been going there since I was a kid and I'm 19 almost 20 now. The service has progressively gotten worse over the years. I decided after getting my nails done tonight that it would be the last time at this salon for me. I came in to get a new set of acrylics and first I asked for a soak off and she refused because "it would take too long" but I don't understand because if I'm paying for that it shouldn't be an issue. She proceeded to cut my acrylics, and take another acrylic nail and tear the old acrylic from my nails. This is always very painful and I'm sure you nail girlies know what I'm talking about. I was clearly in pain but she kept going. I asked AGAIN if I could just have a soak off and she just simply ignored me. Then I asked for two coats of bubble bath and two coats of funny bunny...which is the exact color combo I always get. She started getting upset at me because she said it was too many layers and it would look bumpy but I knew it would be the perfect color. As I was putting my hand in the light to dry, I accidentally bumped one of my fingers and dented the nail. I didn't notice till she pulled my hand out and she immediately changed her demeanor and was really mad at me. She said "you see how much trouble you're giving me now?" Like yeah I purposely messed up my nails. She then called her friend over and was most definitely talking shit not knowing I know their language. She was telling her friend how I'm just a pain in the ass and ungrateful. I ignored all of this and acted like I didn't know what they were saying. Anyways, I decided I'm never going back here again. If it's such a problem to do what IM paying for then you don't need my services anymore. Fuck this place read more

This review is strictly for Lynn. She is seriously the best! She is detail oriented and always takes her time! I've been coming to get my nails done with her for a few months now and she never disappoints. I usually get dip powder/gel manicures. I'm a terrible nail bitter and cuticle picker and she somehow manages to make them grow healthy (and she doesn't judge! Lol). She recently did my nails for my wedding which I absolutely LOVED! Don't come here. prices are sketchy. as a male looking for a simple mani/pedi - of course we choose the least expensive options. they only show the deluxe options. this is for no color. then it's as if everytime they pick up another tool they show it to you and ask your permission to use it and say "$5 ok?". average mani pedi when I do it is $45 and I'll tip $10 for average and $20 for excellent service. I'm a guy - so always get the callus treatment and the spas that take my calluses "personally" get the bigger tips. i wax in and out in 15-20 mins. did not get everything i pointed at in their menu because they were oussed I did not choose the highest priced deluxe. bad business - no customer service/care. you have choices, literally 1000s of feet away. choose something else. this is ny first ever yelp review! that's how bad this place is/was. won't be open for long I predict. read more

Some nails looked like they were missing product toward the base, and the shaping was so inconsistent that my hands looked like they belonged to two different people. And before anyone says, "Why didn't you say something?" -- I DID. Multiple times. I repeatedly asked for the obvious issues to be fixed, and I could clearly tell they were becoming irritated with me for asking. I'm sorry, but if I'm paying $110, I'm going to expect $110 worth of work. Asking for my nails to actually be straight, filled properly, and fully polished is not being difficult. That is literally the service I paid for. The gentleman doing my nails was polite, and I'll give him credit for that. Unfortunately, being nice doesn't compensate for extremely poor workmanship. What bothers me most is that this wasn't some tiny imperfection that I was nitpicking. These were visibly crooked nails that were unfinished. I shouldn't have to explain to a professional that every nail needs to be properly shaped and completely covered in polish. Honestly, they should be embarrassed to charge $110 for this quality of work. They're lucky I paid, because after seeing the final result, I absolutely would have understood anyone refusing to pay for this. Needless to say, I will never spend another dollar here. There are far too many nail salons that actually care about the quality of their work to settle for this

*Lost (3) customers today* This was the 5th time I've…read morescheduled an appointment for myself and daughter's and the Male (owner/ receptionist) lied and said I did not make an appointment. Talk about an inconvenience. Literally had us waiting over an hour and tell me last minute to come back they can't do my daughter's nails.Don't get me wrong Kevin and Cookie do nails great, but not worth the treatment I have received from the salon the last few months. I also get my brows done by Vivian, she does a good job but I saw her casually picking her nose today and will never let her touch my face again.

My nail tech, Vivian, was amazing--she checked in throughout the entire service to make sure I was happy with every detail. She also showed me her portfolio, and it's clear she's extremely skilled!! I came in for a simple French tip, but after seeing her work, it's obvious she can do just about any design you can imagine!!
