If this place went out of service it would be doing El Segundo a favor. The workers here are absolutely awful. I can't believe how rude everyone was. My sister decided to come here to get her homecoming nails done and even though they close at 8 she came a little before 7 and they were so rude to her it makes my skin boil. These "professional" adults were so beyond disrespectful I can't even put it into words. She asked for gel x, and they gave her a dip powder. It was so uneven and lumpy and because she is still young she was afraid to say something especially after they started off by treating her so poorly. After finally speaking up they told her no refunds and there's nothing they can do and next time don't make an appointment so close to closing time. HOW DARE SHE! Please do yourself and your loved ones a favor and DO NOT COME HERE! Tell everyone you know how DISGUSTING this trash nail salon is. They took advantage of my poor sister because she was alone and young and made her even pay the full amount of the service before they started anything. She showed the inspo picture and they made her paid and then did the shit job they did. It did not tell her it was a deposit fee or anything just charged her. This placed deserves to be closed down. The worse experience in my whole life!! I wish I had waited to see the usual office I go to in oc. My thinking was I work in the area and how hard is it to remove gel x nails?? I understand Vietnamese but just don't speak it well and while my nails were soaking in acetone the lady that was assigned to work with me asked the owner how does she remove this???? that means she's a newbie. At that point I wanted to stop but it seemed too late to cancel since she just started to use the electric buffer to remove my gel x nails! It got to the point where she buffed my real nails and it started to hurt! She was "done" I looked at my nails and the gel x nails was still on! So she was going to let me go unfinished! First and last time here. I came in for a dip manicure and asked for a thin dip application - that is the one thing that was done marginally OK. The woman tried to remove, my NATURAL, dip manicure with an acrylic nail by jamming it under the previous dip polish and literally forcing it off. It hurt SO bad. The nail went flying and when I picked it up - you could see where the nail had been forcibly yanked off and ripped apart. I asked her not to do that anymore and she tried again on a few other nails before I took my hands away and said no more. My nails, going into this appointment, were naturally long and strong. They are now cut beyond the quicks and so short and painful. She asked if I wanted a cut down or file. I said file and she proceeded to cut them all shorter than you'd see on an infant. I am so upset. She ignored me when I asked why she did that - just stared me down. I won't be back. It is almost as if she didn't care what I said: file please, she cut. Please don't rip them off, she tried to anyway. I have no clue what she was trying to do, but her long acrylic nails couldn't even allow her to properly file my nails. AVOID this place! NOT RELAXING! The owner hurt my nails pulling off gel nails & not soaking them first. The first time I went here, the owner, Mary(aka Phuong) was very nice as I was paying $50 for gel nails. Two weeks later, today, I go in to have the gel nails removed & to have a regular manicure, $20. It was NOT relaxing at all! Mary didn't soak my nails at all, but was pulling them off! It hurt! I told her "ouch!" I said, "I thought you said you use acetone to remove them." She said, "No, not your nails." I should have left right then and there! She was not very attentive, in a hurry, often on her phone & talking loudly to her employees who don't seem very happy. Their facial expressions looked sad after she talked to them in their language. I've avoided nail salons in general because so many times too much skin is removed around the nail leading to a skin infection. Mary was very gentle and was aggressive with any of the instruments. Mani/pedi is just ok. Fyi don't accept post dated gift certificate! I bought a gift card for my husband back December 2019 and just discovered today that he never use it. So I went for my mani/pedi and sure thing the owner refused to accept the gift certificate with a little attitude because it's been so long time. I'm fine with it but my husband insisted that by law, business' should accept it! ** State Laws Again, some states have passed laws that regulate gift certificates and gift cards. In California. for example, it's against the law for store gift certificates and gift cards to have an expiration date or dormancy fees (except under certain circumstances), and if the balance on the card is less than $10, you can redeem it for cash. This is also the nail I had her redo because the nail didn't fit my actual nail. It's way overpriced for crappy work and service... Won't be returning.. They try to cut corners like not removing nail polish and starting over on a nail when it's messed up or just layering on more layers of polish when your gel color doesn't look right. They also are super shady about what they're adding on and charging you. Great little nail spa in the heart of downtown El Segundo in Main Street. There's plenty of free street parking as well as behind the shop. Everyone there is very nice and does a great job. There could be a better selection of newer and nicer polishes but I can always find something. They have traditional polishes, as well as long lasting, gel and dip. They also do a large selection of nail art. My gel manicures last a solid two weeks, and regular manicures a week. Today, Christmas Eve day, I went in because I screwed up two newly pedicured toes from yesterday and they fixed them for free (I obviously tipped). Well-priced and try take credit cards. read more

I could do a better job than this. Hell, Stevie Wonder could have done a better job! I had to keep showing her where she missed. I arrived with acrylic nails and wanted to "soak them off"(as opposed to having them popped off and ripping away three layers of nail). When I sat down to do my pedicure I asked my nail technician if she could put some acetone in a silver bowl and place it on my lap so my nails could soak while I got my pedi. She stated that I would get them off when I got my mani. I explained to her why I wanted to soak them instead of popping them off and then she frustratingly brought her manager in, and I explained to her the same thing. The manager then went back and forth with me and finally said ok fine $10(mind you soak off is usually $5). After that exchange I was turned off and didn't enjoy what was supposed to be a relaxing mani/pedi. I couldn't understand why they didn't just let me soak my nails off and instead chose to argue with me. My service was also not great, my hand cuticles were left slightly bleeding, the technician did not remove all the acrylic from my nails even after I mentioned it twice, my toe polish was on the skin around my nails and the technician was chatting almost the entire time during my pedi. I've been here a couple times and never fully looooved my experience but it being so close to my house and it having decent prices I've been a total of 3 times. My last visit being the worst, not so much being there but the aftermath. I randomly decided to treat myself and get a mani/pedi. My manicure's fine but my pedicure... not so much. My big toe has recently become infected. While being there the lady did cut me a little bit I didn't think anything of it because it didn't look bad at all, but THE DAY AFTER my toe became puffy and started oozing out puss. I know, so gross. I'd post a picture here but it's currently wrapped up and honestly I don't think anyone wants to see that anyway, it's pretty frightening. Unfortunately the horror stories are true. My rating is 2 stars only because Jenny does give a great pedicure. My SNS manicure is however, an absolute disaster. Mary told me the clear/frosty color would not expose the fake nail glued to my real nail. When it was exposed she offered to cover it with a different SNS color (a whitish pink- very pretty) and then my nails just became a blobbed, goopy mess. As she attempted to file them smooth she tells me "they're too thick because you added another color". I'm sorry, I added the color? When she finally got them as smooth as we could, the color on the edge of each cuticle was tattered and so uneven I wanted to cry. She offered to paint the nails in gel. I have pictures of the final result here. This person needs more experience with nails and customers in general. Now, not only do I need someone to fix this poor job, I will need gel removal in addition. The whole process was $80 and took 2 hours. I do not recommend any newcomers take a risk here. read more

Pros: No waiting, nice new cool massage chairs (no more buckets), conveniently located to my work and home, nice foot massage Cons: You can't tip on your credit card, the polish does look a little dull after a few days (but nothing a top coat at home can't correct), $18 for their basic pedicure (a bit pricey, but hey it was convenient).
