This was the most informative bourbon tour I have been on. We started with a cocktail and toured several areas. We also tasted from a barrel. We finished with a guided tasting. We did a tour of this lovely facility. Our tour guide, Mike, was fun and very knowledgeable! He was loud so everyone could hear. Answered all questions from visitors. He was a fun guide through our tasting. Just a very real guy. Lux row bourbons are delicious. The favorites we enjoyed tasting were the Old Ezra Rye and Lux Row 12 yr. Bummed we couldn't get a Blood Oath. It is a spring release and not available in November. I thought the tour was very reasonably priced including 4 tastings! And we did the add on tasting for an extra $10. Everyone was so nice. Very glad we did this Distillery! Great way to start off our day! read more

This was a good tour but our least favorite. What was cool was you got more than a tasting. Our tour guide was "pinch hitting" so we had things left out. We almost missed our fifth tasting (our your guide thought the bottle out was a mistake), and getting our complimentary glass (I got it because I lingered). The tour guide said they were short staffed, and that is honest, but I have one tour for my money and really do not like when you get less than you paid for. read more

This distillery is very new, and owned by a large alcohol company, but they have a great Marketing team, beautiful facilities, and a nice but small selection of Bourbon. When you enter, you'll be taken to a small media room and shown the history of Lux Row. On our tour, we were actually joined by Mrs. Lux and her dog, which was an added bonus. The 3 bourbons we tried were very good, especially the Rebel Yell Ginger, which is good for cocktails. The entire facility is new and great for weddings/celebrations. read more

My husband picked Lux Row as one of our stops on our little Bourbon Trail tour. It was the only place he picked not knowing much about the brand going in and it so far has been our favorite place. The property itself is newer and quite nice. The staff was engaging when we arrived and checked in. If you're a bourbon fan, there's an option for an extra upgrade on the tour. Not being a bourbon fan, I was the only one who passed on this. Our guide, Hannah, was fantastic. She was informative, funny and engaging. Husband said he even learned a few new things on the tour. Once we toured the facility, we ended in the tasting room where we got to try 4 bourbons (5 with the upgrade) and 3 of them with a chocolate accompaniment. Everything is better with chocolate! What's also cool about Lux Row is that they had a single barrel option that's only available at the distillery and not exorbitantly priced. They limit the bottles per person for obvious reasons. I think Lux Row is worth a stop if you're doing the trail. read more

Going to Lux Row was like the "uber modern" distillery of our Bourbon Tour stops, coming from an older distillery - but it was great! Our tour guide Justin made it a lot of fun and packed us with all the bourbon knowledge! We were able to see parts of the distilling process we didn't at other places and could see how much Lux Row can produce - a lot! It was a fun fact that they don't bottle in their KY location since they're part of a larget spirits group. The process was very interesting! The property was beautiful and I can't wait to see what else they do over the coming years with all the construction happening. Love love loooved their tasting room! Tour was done by Justin, who also did a tasting. Overall, this was great! I don't have a ton of nuance to add to this experience, but the tour is thorough, quite interesting, and the tasting is a lot of fun. They offered four whiskies that they then sell in their rather expansive gift shop. If memory serves it was two expressions of Daviess County (French Oak and Wine Cask finish), their signature Lux Row bourbon, along with an Erza Brooks... I think. The tasting also includes 3 chocolates to pair it with. Their gift shop offers plenty of selections from brands you'll find nationally, along with a number that can't be found outside of Kentucky. While visiting Bardstown I booked a tour at Lux Row Distillers. Lux is a newer distillery having opened in 2018. The grounds as I approached were beautiful with flowers and greenery abundant. I entered the building where everyone was masked and killed time in the gift shop before my tour. The tour is reasonably priced at $25 including a premium pour and a glass to keep. Our tour guide Annabelle was outstanding. She was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about Lux and its bourbon making process. Despite being masked she spoke clearly and was easy to understand. The tour was very interesting and I learned a great deal of what it takes to make something that I love. The tour ends with a tasting of 4 bourbons plus a premium pour. The flight of bourbons paired with chocolate were really good. The 7 year Old Ezra was particularly yummy. The premium pour was the Single Barrel 10 year Rebel Yell. It was fantastic. I could have purchased more but I Only picked up 2 bottles: the aforementioned Rebel Yell and a bottle of the Blood Oath. The Blood Oath is a blend of three aged bourbons 7, 14, and 21 years in a cognac cask. It is a special blend made once per year by the master distiller. One of the finest bourbons I've ever had. If you're in Bardstown give this place a shot you will not be sad that you did. read more

With our tasting tour of Heaven Hill Distilleries taking less time than expected and plenty of time before we headed over to Barton 1792's distillery for their tour, we decided to make our way to Lux Row. In hindsight, we should have reserved one here as well because their premises are gorgeous -- that goes for their visitor center as well. While there was no opportunity to score any tour at the time we had arrived, we did hang out in the visitor center, specifically, to look at their roster of whiskeys they had available to purchase. I had a difficult time deciding between the Old Ezra 7 Year, the Rebel Yell Single Barrel, or the Lux Row 12 Year. I ended up deciding on the former, which was the right choice. I did wish they did have a bottle remaining of the Blood Oath No. 6, but those sold out fast. Additionally, I bought one of their chino two-tone caps that was quite stylish and a welcomed addition to my hat collection. As far as their distillery site, they have a beautiful property and grounds where they have built a few rickhouses so far. The road leading up to the visitor center is quite "southern" with its overhanging trees and luscious landscapes. We'll have to return to do a distillery tour as they did look very cool, especially if the distillery is the only location to find a bottle of the 12-year Lux Row because I was kicking myself for not buying it after the fact. read more

This was the first distillery that we hit on our Bourbon Trail Tour, and the bar was set pretty high after that. Lux Row's store setup was well stocked and laid out to grab your attention. Not only did they have bottles of their amazing whiskeys, there were t-shirts and outerwear, glasses, bar utensils, stickers, and assorted leather goods. It was truly a smorgasbord of quality. The tour provided great insight into their whiskey making process. And even though we had a first time tour guide, they did a great job of providing detailed information. For anything additional we needed to know, other members of the team graciously provided. I love that the ingredients are sourced locally for their products. You literally drive past the cornfields to get to the distillery. The tasting ranged from their opening standard, Rebel Yell 80 proof and escalated to Blood Oath. I highly recommend springing a nominal amount for the additional tasting, to have one of their reserved libations and you keep the glass. The entire team did an amazing job of being functional and efficient while keeping themselves and their guests safe. Everyone followed the guidelines for safe interaction and avoiding possible contamination. I was very impressed with the staff, there facility and the range of products that was offered by Lux Row. I highly recommend checking them out when you head to Bardstown. read more

The new Lux Row distillery officially opened earlier this year and is one of my hidden gems. The name Lux Row maybe lesser known, but the whiskeys that they produce (Blood Oath, Rebel Yell, Ezra Brooks, and David Nicholson) certainly are not. This shiny new distillery is located right outside of downtown Bardstown, on a hillside surrounded by peacocks (strange but quite cool). Kelsey, one of the first employees at the new distillery, gave a wonderful tour of the facility and a background of the construction. I have been a Blood Oath fan since my first sip. This whiskey is what put Lux Row on my list, but I was shocked by the quality and price of their other whiskeys. While I enjoyed the Rebel Yell and Ezra Brooks, the David Nicholson Reserve sang. Before that trip, I had never heard of it, in spite of its impressive resume. The whiskey earned Best Straight Bourbon and a Double Gold Awards in the San Francisco World Spirit Competition 2017. David Nicholson Reserve has officially become my new sipping whiskey (until it becomes as hard to find as Weller that is). Even better, the gift shop fully stocked with premium bottles of all their brands. It was a wonderful experience made even better by finding a new favorite. Absolutely loved this place. We did the evening with Ezra and our guide Kaitlyn was super friendly. She was very knowledgeable and accommodating to everyone's concerns and issues within the party. We missed the announcement for the start of the tasting and she came out and found us! Otherwise, we'd still be shopping in the gift shop! The back history of the distillery and the family connection to the company was important to appreciate the whiskey. We walked the grounds and ran into a swarm of peacocks and a guinea hen (an honorary peacock). Love the tasters, and valued Kaitlyn's advice, bought a few bottles ourselves and looking forward to a wonderful time sipping the bourbons! read more

I am local and take a lot of tours. I was so disappointed. The begining is a sitting room with a video. Then a 5 minute walk up around the open vats. One guy even reached in and touched the grains. Then out to the racks. The guide did nothing to explain about the oak barrels, the differences of the grains and ratios, or the over all process. Mostly about all the product they produce and that it's all shipped out and bottled in St Louis. The tasting was good but we had no idea what bottle was to what we drank. Then it was chocolate and more chocolate to enhance the flavoring I guess of the bourbon. I called and paid $16 a ticket and while sitting there they said who had the stamp. My party did not... how embarrassing. The phone reservationist never said there was an upgrade. So we did not taste the last bourbon or receive a glass. By that time we really were not going to pay a thing additional. It was a clean facility. They are rather proud of their souvenirs. The bourbon is less expensive at Kroger and the tour had a lot to be desired. I was really excited since the reviews were so high. Rebel was one I hoped to try but after all the others and a bunch of chocolate it was actually hard to evaluate it. The oldest tour and one of the best is still Barton's in my honest opinion. It's an old brewery and they do it all there. Complimentary too. read more
