First time ever going to Lux and Thida was super helpful and informative! She walked me through the entire process and made the check in super easy. They offer more spray tan options than other salons I've been to, including moisturizing pre treatment and after! Guinevere was super informative about deals for spray tans. I went in originally just going to get one spray, but ended up signing up for a membership since it was a way better deal! So I LOVE this place since I am lucky to live very close Today I tried their Fire and Ice Facial with Guinevere the esthetician who is both beautiful , patient and honest. I will get another one next Saturday at 4 when they have their " September Cryo Event. I got this after my silver level face tan and before my spray tan. It was exciting ! I love new technology since I am a nurse and was burned as a child. Apparently the technology came from burn patients . The owner of this company Neal Almasri must be a genius to adapt so quickly to new technology. I was there when he opened this site and am always impressed with the cleanliness and state of the art facility. His pricing is very fair. The women who work here are kind and patient. I will post yesterday and today photos and next week. I am going to be 75 on October 16 so keep that in mind. I do NOT like Botox at all. I enjoy my laugh lines! read more

I have been a loyal customer for years. I moved out of area. I was told they may be opening a salon closer to my new location so I just paused my account. After the paused period I got billed the $90 a month so I called to see where the new location was. There wasn't one. I said I wanted to cancel it then. I was told I have to go in to the salon to do that. I am over an hour away and work full time. I have now been charged 3 months because I cannot get there to sign the paper. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR PROMOTIONS!!! Back in May I bought their 3 month unlimited tanning and cyro first month was the cheapest and then the next two months were $200. I have been in contact with them since June, telling them that some unexpected financial hardships have come up and I no longer want a membership. I tried emailing them and kept getting mailer demon and then finally the third email would go through, it's starting to feel like a scam. Now I'm finally paid all three months, and finished my promotion and they still charged me for a fourth month and refuse to refund me the fourth month even though I sent an email and went to the store in person. I understand charging me for three months, but not for the fourth month even after I sent them an email that they never responded to and went there in person. APPARENTLY A LOT OF CUSTOMERS ARE DISSATISFIED, don't get stuck in their trap!! read more

All of the prices are posted online for all to see - if you check in on Yelp, they'll give you a 20% discount first time. No hidden charges or pushy salespeople. Beds are great with different types/price levels to choose from. I have been to several salons over the years, and Urban Tan definitely sets the bar when it comes to the full package: nice staff, nice equipment, reasonable prices, clean/neat facility, free goggles to use, and the MOST IMPORTANT ATTRIBUTE: NO PUSHY OR HIGH PRESSURE "car/mattress sales people!" I've done a review of here before, first impressions being good ones. But seriously, the people here are kind, the beds are great, spray tans don't leave you orange, and red light & cryo? Hell yeah. It's the one self care thing that I feel great about and look forward to seeing the sweethearts at the front desk throughout the week. These are also the only beds that actually get me tan, I've wasted so much money at PCB and other tanning places where the beds just leave me like one shade darker. I'm like a whole new human since I've started tanning here, like 4/5 shades darker at the very least and I feel HOT so thanks for the confidence boost! I'm so glad I stumbled in here last year. They must work for commission? I felt like I was seeing a used car salesmen. Are all tanning places like this? I went last week and the guy was like, "you have to get 2 months worth" then today the girl was like "you have to get 3 months worth". When I mentioned what the guy said to me last week she said "okay I can give it to you for 2 months". Came in to Lux Tan to try the Versa Spa. It broke during the spray. It skipped my chest and head. I reported the malfunction and the associate set it up again, and again it malfunctioned. The second time it skipped my head, chest, and back side, and only sprayed the front of my abdomen and legs. So essentially, I had chemical on me in various concentrations from an uneven spray, and some areas had no spray. I was frustrated because I knew it would develop completely uneven. The associate could not problem solve, called her supervisor, and I left without a refund and had to go immediately shower to scrub away the chemical to prevent the uneven development. The next day I received a call from a guy named Jason. Rather than call him back I stopped by the store after work to dialogue with him person. Apparently, Jason is the "Regional Manager". He made sure I knew that. I attempted to describe for him my experience and share my frustration, but unfortunately Jason was not listening because he continued to interrupt me with comments that assumed what went wrong and reiterated how the machine is not broke and that they use it "20 times a day". I tried multiple times to express how I felt the sensor on the spray nozzle was not accurate and adjusted the spray to an inaccurate 'detection' of my body size and height. Jason denied that and rationalized further. I was not impressed with him but at minimum he stated that I could try it again. However, I was not able to do it in that moment so I had anticipated I would return another day. I left and 10 minutes later Jason called and left a message that I had to come in today or tomorrow to do the spray tan or I would lose the opportunity. He framed it as a 'free' session that he was offering, rather than seeing it as a compensation for their broken machine and my loss of the cost. I walked back by the store to inquire about the arbitrary timeline of being 'required' to have my comp'd session expire in 24 hours. And as you would expect, he had no substantive reason and could only make generic comments about it being 'policy'. I asked if I could come another day the following week and he said no. I attempted to request another supervisor that I could escalate this to and Jason promptly reminded me that he is the "Regional Manager". I wasn't upset or triggered, but I did take the opportunity to attempt a mature conversation with Jason and offer some feedback. However, Jason was not able to engage in a meaningful way and actually 'hear' me and my concerns, particularly from an unsatisfied customer with a complaint about your broken machine. I even reiterated to Jason that I was not looking for a refund (which technically they owed me since they did not deliver what I paid for), and that I was interested in signing up with a membership and become a loyal customer. But he was not able to have an objective conversation about it. He interrupted, again, to declare that they would not give any refunds. As I attempted to discuss the circumstance and reach a plan together, Jason seemed to reveal juvenile and immature behaviors in both his verbal and non-verbal behaviors. At this point Jason, bit his lips, shook his head, and appeared to hold-back what I can assume was the building-up of an outburst. It was truly awkward. Once I recognized this person is under-developed for this role and unable to deliver service-recovery to an unsatisfied customer, I asked who I could escalate my concern to, and he responded again by reminding that he was the "regional manager". I asked for the owners contact information. He would not provide it to me and literally stated that they don't care about the operations. I thought that statement was so profoundly bad and illuminating about his mindset that I questioned him and sought clarification that he was communicating that the owners do not care about my experience or customers' experience ...?, to which he could not meaningfully respond. Jason proceeded to say that he could have someone from some office call me, but then followed that with a comment that they would not be able to help me and that it would take 2-4 days for someone to call me back. (So awkward and surreal). I proceeded to take him up on that offer and requested to be contacted. Upon leaving I attempted to share some basic feedback to Jason to consider a different strategy in dealing with customers and let him know how his approach to me could have been tweaked in a way that made me feel important, valued, and that Lux Tan had an opportunity to make a loyal customer out of me. But again, he was too busy fuming inwardly that he couldn't 'hear' me & say anything meaningful in response. I have decided to keep my business at PDX Tan because their machine works, they are friendly, and I feel appreciated with good service. I don't know what is required to be a "regional manager" at Lux Tan and Cryo - but it is obvious that it is not competence in customer service. read more
