I actually come to Oakville pretty often and every time it's amazing! For this visit, we just did a few apps: fries, tostadas, and spinach dip. All were good but i will say that the dip was missing a little extra flavor (we added the lemon to elevate which helped). The truffle fries dipping sauce is next level & in my opinion a must try for all. The staff is always super welcoming and kind! Plus now that the patio there's not a bad choice for seating inside or out. Additionally, I attached a photo of the tuna poke bowl from a lunch visit. Easily my favorite lunch menu item they offer.

Met a friend for dinner who recommended this spot since it is on the ground floor of the building where she works. Her company has had luncheon and dinners there, and she spoke highly of it. She ordered a burger with fries. It was a gourmet burger, complete with knife in the middle for cutting or deconstructing. It was substantial. I started with potato salad deviled eggs. I like that take on deviled eggs. It is something I will try at home eventually. I finished with a rigatoni alla vodka. It has been awhile since I have had any red sauce Italian dish. This pasta hit the spot. My friend and I shared a slice of warm gooey lemon cake. The lemon is faint. The top has a very light brulee that kicked the cake up a notch. Dinner was worth it. The restaurant seems to be quite lively with the happy hour crowd. The bar is certainly a happening spot inside. The dinner crowd comes later. For my first visit, I will say that I liked it.

(Kari's Rating 9.75/10) Came back with my parents because it was so delicious! We're not huge drinkers so water it was and we had to order the warm sourdough bread and whipped ricotta and honey!

We went for brunch at The Oakville Grill & Cellar in the West Loop. Hubby did great finding this restaurant. The space is beautiful and service was great. Cooper made the perfect latte for me. We started with sharing the potato salad deviled eggs. I can't pass up a deviled egg. It's my weakness, and these were so creamy and delicious! Hubby had the special chicken & waffles breakfast and I had the blueberry lemon curd waffles. Both were delicious. The waffles were so light and fluffy. I have to say the chicken & waffles was outstanding. Luckily my husband shared one of his waffles with me and I gave him one of mine in return. Sharing is caring!

Really solid . Beautiful, elegant restaurant . This 3 year old restaurant is a member of the lettuce entertain you restaurant group located in the heart of Fulton market . Good service . Solidly good food. Loved the burrata special topped with strawberries . Loved my Sonoma salad with grilled avocado ( super unique ). Our teen aged boys enjoyed their meal however felt portions were on the small side. On the expensive side so may have to wait for a very social occasion to return . Overall, recommend

Brunch service was absolutely stellar! The Oakville is pretty inside and out. The cinnamon pull apart bread is a must for your table - you only need one for your table of 4, it's massive. For balance, try the Costa Mesa salad with corn, avo, queso fresco, and lime vinaigrette.

Went here for graces birthday dinner! Lowkey was an hour late due to standstill traffic on the 8 bus (insane trauma cannot speak of it) but apparently, they sat them down 45 minutes after their reservation so there's that lollll- However, because of this, we got four free appetizers and a glass of Prosecco! Huge score! We had the fries, deviled eggs, spinach, and artichoke dip and chips and salsa. Love the spinach and artichoke dip! For mains, we split the spicy vodka pasta, Caesar salad and the veggie trio. Huge fan of the salad and the veggie trio. Since this is a winery, I also got a Sauvignon Blanc martini and it was incredible. The food was solid overall and nothing blew me away, but I loved the veggie trio. Actual space is very California classy and the service was great once seated. I had no idea this was a lettuce entertain you tbh. I think this is a good solid spot to go with friends or parents etc! However west loop and me do not get along on the transport side of things let's be honest.

The food was pretty good, and I did enjoy the different flavors packed in each dish. I got the dry aged burger with fries, and it was cooked very well; it was topped with blue cheese and gave a nice salty kick to the burger. The fries were nothing special, but I did enjoy the aioli sauce that came with it. We also got the spinach and artichoke dip, and we loved how warm and flavorful the artichoke dip was. My sister got the rigatoni, and it was rich and creamy with the sauce; the noodle texture was also very good, as it seemed to hold the sauce very well. Lastly, we got the apple cobbler for dessert, and it was delicious! The ice cream paired so well with the warm apples and crust. The service was top notch as our server always made sure to tell us about the specials and take care of us. Additionally, he even gave my dad an additional glass of wine for a small inconvenience. The ambiance was very pretty, and it had a California inspired decor to it. It's one of those spots you go to for a special occasion or fancy date. Overall, the food was good, but I do think it was a little overpriced for what you're getting.

I have to shout out Restaurant Week Chicago for introducing me to this awesome spot, right in the heart of Fulton Market! I brunched here with my husband and toddler twins and it was fantastic. From the moment we walked in, I was immediately impressed by how beautiful and chic the restaurant is. We were quickly seated in a comfy booth with booster seats for the kiddos. We ordered the yogurt parfait, deviled eggs, breakfast burrito, and French toast - all delicious. The kids had the salmon & buttered noodles, served with avocado, berries & sweet potato on the side, plus juice. The restaurant's got a great setup too. The bathrooms are on the 2nd floor, and on the way, we noticed a private party in progress. It seems like an awesome spot for a small private event. What really stood out was the warm hospitality. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back!

We had such an amazing brunch! The spacious restaurant is decorated with olive trees reminiscent of California wine country. Their huge wall of wine bottles also looks stunning. More importantly, the food is fresh and simple and absolutely delicious. We had the deviled eggs which tasted like a mash up of potato salad and deviled eggs. Yum! The breakfast burrito had lovely char marks and was so filling. The avocado salsa was a perfect accompaniment. The fried chicken sandwich, while good, was probably the weakest of the bunch. Not particularly inspired. The yogurt parfait was simple but made with incredible ingredients and really tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back for more.

This place is pretty exceptional and great for a mid-day brunch with girlfriends! What I enjoyed most was the ambiance of the restaurant. It had a very earthy but still modern twist to it and the lighting was not super bright but had a nice dim to it. The service here was really good as well. We had a great experience with our waitress. For food, I had the brioche French toast that comes with a maple butter on top and strawberries. It was very, very good! The maple butter balances out the taste of the syrup and strawberries so it had a nice combination of both sweet and savory. The bread was really hard to cut on the sides but once you got to the middle, it was fine. I also tried some bacon and the deviled eggs and both were amazing! The deviled eggs have this sauce underneath and you can dip any remaining egg into it at the end and it's so good. The bacon was cooked perfectly; crispy on the edges and a little softer in the middle. I also like that everything tasted really fresh! That was a huge win. Another thing, they were really allergy conscious and I love that! For a drink, I had the spritzer and it was very good. Very light and felt like summer! I'd like to come back and try something else on the menu.

The wood fired brick chicken was juicy and amazing. And the potatoes were perfectly purred and the roasted garlic was perfect together. Our server was amazing. The grilled chicken paillard salad was delicious. The old fashioned drinks were solid. Great ambience and so beautiful.

Oakville gets 2 stars from me specifically for the ambiance. The restaurant is lovely and quite cozy to lounge in. They also have a really COOL checkout system where they add everything to the QR code, then each party just goes in and checks off what they ordered. That way, it's super easy to only pay for what you ordered. I attended with a group of about 10, so this was really helpful. UNFORTUNATELY, my wife, my sisters-in-law, and I did not enjoy our meals. My medium-well burger was extremely salty. My father said his was salty too - which matters since he struggles with his blood pressure. My fries were also extremely salty. We noticed that my sister's $40 main entrée salmon was the exact same size as my son's $10 kids' salmon. That doesn't seem right! And the calamari didn't have a bit of crispiness to it. We had food issues all around - from portion size to taste. Everything was just salty and soggy. Nothing tasted freshly made. On a lesser note: I didn't like the house brand Boulevard bourbon drink (I totally mispronounced/mispelled it). The service was fine from the bar. I just personally am not a fan of its bitter orange peel-like taste. I wanted Oakville to rise to a 4-5 star rating, but a 2 is all I can muster.

The waitress had informed us that a single is a double, a double is a triple, etc! Opted for a single with bacon as an add on and it was delectable. The thick pieces of bacon were truly the cherry on top. It comes with a slice of pickle. Additional sides, including fries, are extra. We unconventionally got an omelette.. but let's just say it was one of the fluffiest omelettes I've had-- not your classic breakfast omelette. Inside are roasted peppers and cheese. It's dimly lit inside to set the vibe. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. I planned to dine at Au Cheval for Sunday lunch and unfortunately there weren't any reservations available on Resy for lunchtime when I checked. Of note, Resy charges $2.50 per person to book the reservation which does not go towards the bill. After looping around for parking and finding a metered spot, I checked in at the restaurant shortly after 11:30am and was told I was 28th in line and the host could not quote a wait time due to the inclusion of online reservations. I thought that was a bit odd so I ended up walking around to explore the surrounding businesses. I finally received a text that my table was ready around thirty minutes later. The restaurant itself is not big but gives off an old fashioned vibe which I guess correlated with the type of food served. I ordered a single cheeseburger, a side of thick cut peppered bacon, and a side of French fries. I figured it was more economical to order a side of bacon rather than adding it to my burger so I can eat as much or as little as I wanted. The food came around fifteen minutes later. The burger itself did not look as big on the plate as I expected, although it was apparent how thick the two hamburger patties were. Since everyone was raving about the burger I had high expectations which unfortunately were not met. The burger tasted like a burger found at any average diner across the country. The bacon pieces were thick and flavorful but I don't think they elevated the burger as much as I'd like. Also, I wished there were cheese options rather than offering only American cheese which is probably the cheapest cheese that can be added on a burger. The fries reminded me of In-N-Out fries but the fries at the bottom of the cup were way too salty as if all the salt was added to the bottom of the cup instead of trickling down after being sprinkled on the fries on top. Considering all the hype about Au Cheval and the claims that their cheeseburger is one of the best burgers in the country or world, I was very underwhelmed. If this burger were to represent the Chicago food scene on a national level, it should rank lower than several other major cities in the United States.

The halibut. This was very delicious. Somehow the blueberry nuoc cham works? The fish was tender and flaky. The sauce was salty and full of umami with a hint of blueberry sweetness. This fish dish made me crave for a bowl of steaming hot bfluffy white rice. The string beans. Unless you are allergic to nuts, this is a must get dish. Perfectly cooked string beans (still crispy but not raw) sautéed with fish sauce vinaigrette was an absolute delight. It's also on the salty side which made me crave rice but it's such a flavor bomb. The stone fruit slices was a nice pairing in that it provided a sweet and tart contrast to the heavier meat flavor. After trying this dish, I felt I personally prefer the LA galbi marinade flavor and preparation for short ribs. Overall, I'm glad I got to try this place.
