Next to Great Labels this was my favorite stop during my day trip of shopping to LA. The taste level was amazing, and I loved the thoughtful choices in what was presented. This place is not only yielding great vintage clothing for both men & the ladies as well as accessories and such but they also support the local handmade community showcasing handmade jewelry by local artist as well as some from out of state. My favorites would hands down be the tintype photo pieces that are made by the owner Oscar (that's what the nice lady said that was working) So, anyhoo being part of the handmade community myself I strongly suggest swinging by here. Prices are very reasonable. I walked out with an awesome delicate lace shirt dress as my friend put it for $74. That to me is a deal. After a visit here swing by Mohawk Bend for an amazing brunch. I had many near misses in front of this store. Everytime I drove by and they had a rack outside meant $5 sale, meant that I HAD to make a U-turn, switch through 2 lanes of traffic, and get to a dead stop, whatever it took to park and head in. Unfortunately I don't think they do that anymore, though the last time I was here there was a $5 basket of clothes. $5 rack/basket or not, if I'm nearby I'll stop in. And while there are a number of great deals, make no mistake, there are also a number of high end items as well. While most of my purchases from the store have been in the $5-10 range, right this minute I'm desperately trying to convince myself out of a vintage Chanel dress that is selling for $270. For those of you who are looking for cheap clothes, that's a lot. For those of you who are label whores, that's is a real deal. Oskar has probably one of the best eyes for vintage clothes in LA. And unlike a lot of the vintage shops in Echo Park/Silverlake, there's a wider range of styles for those of us who aren't into the standard hipster style. My local haberdasher had not one piece which would suit me so I ventured to try a new place. Look-ee here! A place which has clothes I can really enjoy! Things I can wear to Pinochle or Bridge Club with grace. Then I found out these old-styles were in the spirit of irony. Dirty knit caps! In all honesty, I don't get irony. But come by my place, I'd be happy to sell you a yellow sun-dress or sport-coat from an by-gone era, besmirched with dust for a handsome price. Fools! read more

Luxe De Ville It's one of my Echo Park favorites. The owner is a super sweet down to earth guy that really cares if YOU (the customer) is happy. They've got vintage clothing and unique jewelry made by local (and not so local) artists/designers. Their tempered glass bracelets and necklaces are fabulous enough to make a girl want to smack her mama! Also, the hand painted cuffs are divine, and different enough to get you compliments all night long (you attention grubber-- don't lie!). The best thing about this shop is not their low prices (although things are reasonably priced) -- but it's the fact that all the items are so ahead of the fashion curve. I purchased one of the hand painted cuffs about a year ago, and I just saw that artist had some items in Metro Park (shop in the mall) a couple months back. I love this place. It has such an interesting mix of vintage and indie designer clothing. They also have a bunch of really cute jewelry behind the counter. I'll tell you the real reason why I gave them five stars, though. The people that work there. True story, I bought a Loomstate sweatshirt here for around 300 bucks, and I totally hated myself for spending that much. 4 years later, I still wear it on a weekly basis and it doesn't show wear like it's 4 years old. After shopping all afternoon for a birthday outfit to wear that same evening (I know, I'm crazy) at all of the boutiques in the Echo Park area, my last stop as I was ready to give up was at Luxe de Ville. Not only was the guy who runs the place really interested in helping me - he listened to my complaints about the pregnant-looking tops that are dominating all the stores, and about the too-long tops that hug my mid-section, etc, but he had the perfect top for me -exactly the mix of modern, cleavage-bearing, structured, top I was looking for. I have so far procured a wonderful winter sweater, and two ties from Luxe. One of the ties is a skinny, vintage dior, my weakness. The guy running the place is extremely nice and helpful. This store is perfect. It's what a local business should be. A friendly guy that you can't tell is the owner, with a far-reaching breadth and appreciation of fashion and style. Are his clothes expensive? No, especially if you know your labels, designers, fabrics, eras, and treatments. Have I seen train-wrecks come into this store? Occasionally. You know the ones. The ones who don't know what they want, but expect you to read their minds...and then try to do a price comparison of things and places that don't exist. I think it's sort of amusing when someone asks "Do you have this one unique piece in a different size?" Honey child, it's a unique, vintage piece. It's the ONLY one. It's UNIQUE. Do you know what UNIQUE and one-of-a-kind means? Have I seen people that are well-put together come into this store? Yes. Quite a few stylists come in here. Have I seen rock stars in here? Yes. Luxe De Ville is the best! Even if I'm not in the market for anything, I still stop by just to hang out for a bit (especially during my lunch break) and scan all the merchandise. The store has a ton of jewelry from local and independent designers everywhere. The store is stocked with a great selection of vintage dresses for all tastes. It can get a bit pricey, but you could find something for any budget. On to Oskar. He is the owner and is always welcoming. He'll strike up a conversation with you and make you feel comfortable. No matter what your style (or budget) is he will help style an entire outfit for any event, right down to tips on hair and make up. I love vintage shopping in LA. Ive been to many "hit n miss" places, but I LOVE Luxe De Ville. A small but cute vintage boutique! They have a couple of glass cases with jewlery and sunglasses. There were a nice varity of designer vintage sunglasses all in fantasic condition!!!! They have lots of mens shirts and sports coats! I would have liked to have seen more mens vintage pants, but they made up for that with killer western shirts at a steal of a price. The lady with the two dogs that was working in there was adorable and a bundle of help. They also had a nice selection of custom T's from local desiners which I thought was very cool! I ended up walking out of there with a sweet 1950's mens button down shirt for my sweetie and a new old stock ET doll. Luxe De Ville you WILL be seeing me very soon again!!!! read more

I had a WONDERFUL experience shopping at this store! The lady (maybe the owner?) was working when we went and she was super nice. She showed us the sales rack and left us alone after that, which I really like because I can't stand workers breathing down my neck when I'm shopping. I was happy to pick out a retro 70's style dress that was on sale for 50% off and ended up paying only $14 for it! The selection of clothing is very eclectic and trendy. Oscar is so so nice! I found great vintage pieces, and great new designer pieces that look like great vintage pieces. The jewelry is fun, funny and darling. Best customer service,ever. As a local, my best friends and I usually drop by Luxe de Ville for our monthly fashion fix. You could find local designers being featured inside this store. It has a wide range of music playing in the background. Great music choice with La Ley. The best thing about this store, it has the best window display in Echo Park/ Silver lake area. Every one or two weeks, I enjoy driving by and seeing the new window displays. They have a huge selection of 80's deadstock sunglasses. Better frames than California VIntage. Huge shopping tip: If you ever find vintage clothing gem, BUY IT. I have found amazing dress but I decided to wait for my next paycheck. On my next trip, it was gone! read more

this place is SO fucking "echo park" it makes me sick. filled with ugly shoes, ugly dresses, and old salavation army purses with pictures or brooches put on them to make them look new and cool. you know what, LAME. however, the owner is very nice and helpful. which makes me think he only has some of this shit because his neighborhood buddies make it and he feels bad. also, the echo park dorks buy it. He does have some stuff worth buying: certain hats, clothing items, accessories. you just have to be willing to look through the other bullshit. read more

I bought a large lux purse and wallet, when I received them I was very disappointed, the purse appeared to be old and used. The side buttons will not stay snapped on either side. This place is so cool looking that it is tempting to just stay and try everything on and take pictures with all of the beautiful floppy hats and sequins dresses. If I could give Luxe de Ville a ZERO STAR i would. I fell in love with the style of the purses and wallets I found and over the years I have spent hundreds of dollars on their products. The first downfall I discovered is flawed zippers in all of their products The zippers began to separate and catch almost instantly. I was referred by a vendor to contact their customer service department in hopes of either a refund or a fixed/repaired product. I have now been attempting to get some sort of solid answer from the customer service at luxe de ville's "customer service rep" for almost 2 MOTHNS NOW and I am done! If you are looking to waste a lot of money on horribly made products then this is your store. A ONE STOP SHOP TO THROWING MONEY AWAY. I have never been lied to by a customer service rep, nor have I been ignored when a simple solution could have been made have spoken to some person named "brian" and now he has passed me off to yet another team member. This type of job is not that complex and all I have received were excuses. "I was sick." "I have been working two jobs...".How about you stick to one job and actually do that one correctly I WILL NEVER SHOP OR WASTE MY MONEY ON LUXE DE VILLE AGAIN, and if you don't have money to just throw away I would strongly recommend that you boycott luxe de ville. Other and similar products exist with epic customer service representatives. Hands down, I have NEVER BEEN MORE DISSAPPOINTED IN ANY COMANY through and through, I will never purchase or be seen with anything even related to luxe de ville again.
