I was going to Luxe for a few years between 2012-2015. The regular cleanings were pleasant, nothing to report there. In 2013, I had a filling installed on a rear molar and was given the option of composite so I chose that. Fast forward to 2016 and the filling popped out while I was flossing. I called Luxe and their message to me was it's too bad the filling came out - if I want another one it will be full price. 3 years seems like a horrible life span for a filling, and I believe there should be a discount on future work. There was also an issue when the filling was installed where they messed up the surface of my tooth. I had to go back for 3 subsequent visits to have an annoying roughness in the tooth surface dealt with. So now I have a nice gap in that molar and if I want them to fix the work they obviously didn't do right, it will be full price. Shame on Luxe. read more

I had a wonderful experience. The staff was so polite and understanding of the pain I was having. I was given multiple options on how to fix my teeth and it was explained to me step by step on the procedure. If you ever have a dental question on cosmetics they are update with best technology. Unprofessional from the start, as I had the first appointment in the morning and they still didn't get to me until 15 minutes after open. The reason I made this time slot was so I could get to work for a meeting later in the morning. They popped up some images of my teeth and told me I needed immediate work, essentially into the thousands of dollars. I was only using Luxe due to its proximity to my office, so I went back to my dentist closer to home and yes - I did need a few fillings, but only a few hundred dollars of work. Do not go to this dentist. As a 28 year old who regularly sees a dentist and has maintained a healthy mouth, I can say without a doubt that Dr. Tracy Nguyen and Luxe Dental attempted to deceive me. I urge you to read my story below and avoid this corporate practice. On May 17, 2017, I visited Luxe Dental as part of a regular dental exam and cleaning. As I am new to the area, this was my first appointment with Luxe Dental. Accordingly, X-rays were taken of my mouth prior to any cleaning or dental exam. After completion of the X-rays, I was introduced to Dr. Tracy Nguyen and she immediately reviewed my X-rays. Based upon her review of my X-rays and a quick look in my mouth, she proposed the following treatment plan: (a) 3/4 porcelain crowns and pulp caps for teeth #3 and #4; (b) 3/4 porcelain crowns and pulp caps for teeth #30 and #31; and (c) a deep cleaning followed by three-month cleaning increments for an unspecified amount of time before returning to six-month cleaning increments. After asking if I had any further questions Dr. Nguyen left and the office manager at Luxe Dental, Amanda Lawson, entered the patient room to discuss my dental insurance coverage and the treatment plan. After I told Ms. Lawson I would like to wait to schedule anything, she checked with Dr. Nguyen if the deep cleaning was recommended now or after the other procedures. Dr. Nguyen recommended I do the deep cleaning after, and thus, I finished my appointment by getting a regular cleaning. The whole experience (over two hours long) made me uncomfortable and I was skeptical primarily because I have not had an issue with my teeth in as long as I can remember (at least 10+ years). Furthermore, I was told that Dr. Nguyen's schedule was filling up fast, and that the first part of my treatment plan would likely not happen until the end of June if I did not book soon; however, the receptionist (after reiterating Dr. Nguyen's busy schedule) happened to notice that a spot just opened up for tomorrow at 8 am. I scheduled the appointment, but felt uneasy about it. Due to my skepticism, I contacted two friends of mine who recently obtained their DDS at the Texas A&M College of Dentistry. It is my understanding after discussing the treatment plan with dentists, that the treatment suggested (i.e., 3/4 crowns and deep cleaning) would only be necessary under extreme conditions, and is certainly not common for a 28 year old who has been going to the dentist his whole life and has maintained healthy teeth. I immediately called and cancelled my appointment for the next day. To obtain full closure, I scheduled an appointment with a private practice to get a second opinion. On May 23, 2017, I had a dental exam with [name removed for privacy purposes]. I asked to receive his independent opinion before discussing the aggressive treatment plan proposed by Dr. Nguyen. After reviewing the X-rays taken by Luxe Dental (some of which were not even diagnostic), and examining my mouth, the dentist concluded that my teeth look fine except for a small chip in a dental sealant on a left bottom tooth and a small repair of a filling in a bottom left tooth. I then discussed Dr. Nguyen's treatment plan, for which the dentist seemed shocked by and strongly recommended I do not proceed with any of the suggested procedures. In addition, the dentist noted that he did not believe the insurance company would have paid for these procedures upon review of my X-rays. Based upon my experience (and other reviews I have seen online), I believe there is evidence that Dr. Nguyen and Luxe Dental have committed fraud. It is clear from my experience that Dr. Nguyen and Luxe Dental attempted to take advantage of someone less knowledgeable and acquire business that did not actually exist. At the very least, I believe there is enough evidence here to suggest that Dr. Nguyen grossly misjudged my situation. Had I gone through with her proposed treatment plan, I would have ruined at least four of my teeth (which did not need crowns) and would have spent thousands of dollars. read more

I would just like to say how much I enjoyed my experience at Luxe. I had to reschedule a couple times due to family emergencies and if hadn't been for the understanding and graciousness of their scheduler Stephanie I don't know if I would have ever been able to make it in to be seen. Dr. Nguyen offers many different options to help me solve my current dental issues and was very understanding of the pain I had been having as well as her staff when it came to dealing with my insurance. Dr. Nguyen is the best dentist I have ever been to! Every tooth she has treated was virtually pain free. I have referred several family members and friends and have gotten the same feedback in return from all of them. She takes her time to make sure you understand everything and the technology is top of the line! Her staff is very friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. Take it from a patient that has actually had treatment done at Luxe Dental-I actually look forward to going to the dentist now! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would give 10! read more

First of all, I'm sorry I didn't write this review sooner, so that I could save other people from going through what I went through. I went to this office for a routine cleaning and some interest in getting the Invisalign product for straightening teeth. I was up-sold and convinced that I needed immediate work on one of my teeth in order to prevent a root canal. Root canal!? I was so young and have never had problems with my teeth. But the doctor was so convincing... I went in to have this "work" done, and when they were about to begin, I noticed they started working on a different tooth than the one the doctor had pointed out as "so urgent." When I pointed this out and she checked the chart, she said, "Ok, we can do both teeth then." What?? I should have walked out. I completely regret it. The doctor was quite aggressive, but it's my fault for not standing up for myself. I was scared at the time by how convincing the doctor seemed over my "urgent need for work." I thought I could trust a doctor. Never again without a second and third opinion. They ended up completely removing / grinding down two of my teeth completely, and replacing them with porcelain crowns. I didn't have pain in those teeth before. I HAVE HAD CONSTANT PAIN IN THOSE TWO TEETH EVER SINCE THIS PROCEDURE. But wait for it. Luxe Dental charged me over $1000 as a "co-pay" to reserve the appointment. Yes, $1000 cash! And then my insurance company called me (AFTER the work had already been done, after Dr. Nguyen had submitted my info to them for coverage) to inform me that I would NOT be covered by them because their doctors had reviewed my x-rays and determined that THE PROCEDURE I HAD WAS UNNECESSARY. I couldn't stop crying. They said I owed $4000 more. (By the way, I have excellent insurance coverage. A top-notch company with which I have never had a problem before or since). This woman who claims to be a doctor has injured me and ruined a portion of my life. I have constant pain when I eat, sometimes breathing even hurts. And now I will probably have to get work done on those two teeth for the rest of my life. Again, I am young and the worst I've ever had were a few cavities. Never even had braces. I looked into filing a malpractice lawsuit, but found (lucky for her) that it's just not in my nature. Sigh. Please, find a dentist that your friends or family recommends. Get second and third opinions. Do not see Dr. Nguyen. It is all cold hard business in this office, and you may end up getting hurt, manipulated, taken advantage of, and basically robbed, like me. Good luck and be careful. Oh and by the way, the office continued to call me for years after to convince me that if I didn't come in that I would need a root canal soon. BEST DENTIST IN TOWN! I have spent a large part of my life in dentist's chairs for dental issues. I have had bad dentists and I have had good dentists. Dr. Nguyen is a great dentist. She also has one of the finest staffs around. Everyone here is nice and genuinely friendly. I did a lot of research on local dentists before coming to Luxe. They have the latest technology and equipment. They use the CERAC system that can make a perfect custom crown from 3D images of your teeth the SAME DAY! Check out their web page to see the other high tech stuff they have. They have always given me reminder calls about my appointments and called me the day after to make sure I wasn't having any problems with any of the work done. Dr. Nguyen answered every question I had and took the time to discuss all of my concerns. When I go in, I feel like I am the only patient in the place. Do yourself a favor and don't go to one of these dentists that just wants to push you into all the latest fads and unnecessary cosmetic dentistry (Yeah FLOSS, I'm talking about you!). This is a fabulous dentist. I have been to so many different dentists in so many different states, some better than others, I have started to lose track. Luxe is top-notch with state of the art technology, which my husband and I LOVE! Dr. Nguyen (pronounced "Win") and staff are very friendly, polite and professional and the facility is modern, bright and clean. I felt like Dr. Nguyen really knew her stuff and was on top of all the latest in dental science. I think it's important for a dentist to utilize the latest technology and at Luxe, with their new technology, they can fit you for a crown and create it while you are there--same day! None of the two week waiting and having to come back stuff. My husband and I have had cleanings, deep cleans and a crown from Luxe and everything has been first rate. Dr. Nguyen even referred me to a first-rate periodontist (who will take insurance) for some more intense work that I needed done. I cannot say enough nice things about Luxe Dental! My daughter is in Dallas for school and has had some major dental issues come up due to a long term illness. She also has major, major dental anxiety. I found Luxe on line and thought it would be just what she needed, and I was right. They had to do some major dental work and they made it as easy for us as possible. My daughter came in with her teeth nearly falling apart, and now she has a gorgeous, healthy smile and they were soo good to her, I think she will be able to go back for a cleaning with little or no anxiety. She ended up having two full days of dental work, and she had to be under conscious sedation. Every detail was taken care of meticulously. During her recovery, they were completely available to us 24/7. I would send a text with a questions about pain management, and would get a response in 1 or 2 minutes. Incredible. The doctor is the very best at what she does and is very easy to talk to, and cared a lot about my daughter's well being. Her entire team is amazing. The real jewel of the practice is Amanda - she does everything from office management to assisting and she communicated with me about every detail and made this difficult time so much easier. Regarding the comments here about the cost. Yes - everything they offer is the best. Since our daughter is so young, that is what we wanted for her. They are very reasonable, easy people to talk to. My son in law practically insisted I try Luxe Dental after being scheduled for extensive work at a "sleep dentist" in Frisco. I got an appt right away. I was treated with great respect and kindness. I got a follow up (8 hour!) appointment within 2 weeks. The dentist saved all my teeth with NO root canals and NO extractions (I was told I had to have for all my damaged teeth). The quality of the work, both from a dental and a cosmetic standpoint has been great. The staff are very accommodating. The state of the art equipment is worth the price. I am very happy to have decided to seek out Dr Nguyen who came so highly recommended. I felt like even though she had a full schedule, I got the attention I needed and did not feel she was rushing her time with me. I have no reservations about passing along the recommendation to anyone that this dental practice is worth every penny. I feel in no way I was "upsold" any procedures - I had the opposite experience - I was expecting 3 root canals and got zero. I was expecting an extraction and told it was totally unnecessary.
