Luxe Nailbar first opened a location in Haymarket, VA this past August 2023. I've been eyeing the place to try it out - as a walk in (the signage on the front door says they welcome walk-ins) - however, the previous time I attempted a walk in - it was going to be a 30-40 minute wait - which I could not do at the time. This past week, I tried again - and I lucked out and got in - in about 5 minutes. I'd recommend getting an appointment if you can. After my manicure started - a whole lot of other customers showed up. My nail tech was Stephanie. I requested a manicure - with whatever they call the nail buffing technique that makes your nails very shiny (this option is an add on which costs an additional $7.00). Stephanie did a great job! Two different techs did my nails and pedicure .... Weird. B" who did my pedicure didn't speak at all. The pedicure was ok but polish started chipping after one week. Alex did my nails. Very painful experience. He used a drill on my cuticles instead of clipping which caused the process to be very painful and the pain lasted for 4-5 days. Was not pleased with either service and will not return. Expensive as well. read more

I came in for a full set a few weeks ago and they seemed ok, but I could tell right away something was wrong because they felt kind of loose. Cut to this week when I went to my usual place to get a fill. When the polish was removed we found that every single nail had lifted all the way up to where the tip had been glued on. We had to cut them all off and start over. What a nightmare, and a lesson learned not to go here again. read more

The staff really do make all the difference. The majority of the people here are great but the owners wife is someone to avoid. When you book online you can only select "random" - I've been at least a dozen times now and can honestly say I usually leave happy. But I've had this particular lady twice (today and 6 weeks ago). My experience six weeks ago was not positive. She "burned" my nails several times by filing them super thin, was not friendly, and I left super disappointed... but I still tipped and assumed it was a bad day. (Everyone has them). But I booked again for today - my friend and I had 230 appointments... they were running behind which no one bothered to say when we checked in. They seated us at 3 and I got her again. I showed a basic picture of a short neutral square French manicure. This seemed achievable. I was asked to pick my base color - I did. I always get powder dip. The removal process took forever (it's usually pretty fast) she left twice to take phone calls. The dip I could tell was going to be problematic from the first nail. The clear base she was using was coming out thick as glue, leaving globs and strings. Instead of getting another one she would "pat" it after putting the dip on. (Picture of four layers in is included) - so they looked HORRENDOUS. She left to take care of things and told me to let it dry for 5 mins (never had to do this with dip) came back 10 mins later and I ASKED if this would all be fixed and smooth and cohesive - was assured it would. We continued. File. Dip. File. Dip. File. Dip. Must've been 10 dips plus by the end of it. Several nails now bleeding (when I pointed out one I was told it was because I requested them too short... okay thanks please continue hurting me then...). I asked again about the fact I could still see patches in my nails that looked like finger prints and unevenness. She assured me again it would disappear. Almost 2 hours in to the appointment I'm near tears because I'm so frustrated- she asks about the French tips I said forget it just clear coat it please so I can get home and pay the sitter. (I live 30 mins away so this is already 3 hours now). She clear coats it and dismisses me. Has someone else check me out. I tell her I wasn't happy - she looks apologetic but doesn't say much - clearly we know who is in charge. I hate even writing this because there are some wonderful people there - Cherry, and Thu to name a couple. But I won't mislead others walking in to this. First time ever going here, and I am beyond pleased!! I have never gone to a nail salon and actually been happy with my nails when I left until now. My nail tech was beyond great. I got something so simple, BUT she still made sure to make them look great. She even checked at the end to make sure no flaws. These are my real nails. I had acrylic nails that they soaked off and since my nails have grown, we were able to do dip on my real nails! I was so happy! I asked for matte and I am beyond obsessed! This place is so pretty and very clean! I think I finally found my go to nail place! Price is pretty good (paid under $70) for soaking off all my acrylic nails, one acrylic nail for my pinky, dip and matte. read more

This place is terrible and expensive. My daughter has been here several times and each time has been worse than the time before. This time they told her they did not have a nail technician available and that someone would be with her in "just a few minutes". Just a few minutes turned into a half hour. Then the tech took 1 hour and a half to do her nails, taking extra time to shape them. The end result was horrible and the polish was just as bad. Either the nail technician was new or they just did not care since my daughter is a minor. Both are not acceptable since they charge $60 for a fill and polish. read more

I went here for the third time today. The first two times were pretty adequate. After today, I will NEVER return. The front desk calls me less than an hour before my appointment to confirm. I had an appointment for a gel manicure with a specific tech because she can do nail design. My 7 year old daughter was doing the kid's manicure/pedicure. When we arrive to the salon, I didn't see the tech until made the appointment with and some other tech was rudely rushing me to pick a color. To which I repeatedly told her I was doing a design. I show her the design, in the photo attached, and she says they can do star stickers and I was like no thanks. She proceeds to wrap my fingers to remove my current gel polish then mumbles something about she will have someone else do design the free hand. I sit there with my daughter for nearly an hour before someone comes to paint my daughter's nails. The tech comes back and chastises me about removing the wrap on my fingernails and I was like sorry I don't want acetone on my skin for an hour. She tells me that the tech painting my daughter's nails will do my design free hand for me. Another tech starts to remove the remaining gel and shape the nails and they were looking horrid so another tech comes and shapes them. It is then she declares that no one can do the design. I reply stating I had an appointment with a specific tech. She says that tech isn't there she had an emergency. That's fine I reply, however why didn't the person who called me before the appointment tell me that the requested tech was unavailable so I could decide if I wanted to keep the appointment? Why didn't someone tell me immediately upon seeing the design that NO ONE could do the design so I wouldn't waste my time. They charged me $33 for a "basic manicure" which essentially left me with ragged looking unpolished nails. The kids manicure and pedicure cost me $23. For my daughter to sit in a nail chair for nearly 2 hours. What a waste and total bait and switch. Not ONCE did anyone in what salon even apologize for this experience. We had a 1pm appointment today and waited an hour to get seen for the worst pedicure. They hardly did anything and rushed through my gel pedicure and my mom's basic pedicure to get done as they were busy and did a terrible job. My mom had to ask for new tools. At checkout they couldn't get right what we had done. Will not be going back! read more

The quality of my nails are awful. There is nail polish all my hands. I got French tips with bubble bath as the base and burgundy as the French. My tech rushed through my set and ended up dragging the burgundy through the bubble bath and once I mentioned it, she still told me to cure it. The sides of my French tips are very messed up and the frenches are different shapes. I had an appointment at 4pm and they didn't see me until 5. She also got gel polish on my finger and decided to sand it off with a file instead of using acetone or alcohol. Once asking for a refund, they told me no that they don't do that and said I could only get a discount on my next set. This was a fill, so my nails were already long and shaped. I didn't ask for a reshape or for the nails to be shorten and they still charged me for length which did not make any sense. For a fill, these costed $70. Not worth the price at all. Will not be going back :) read more

They do not honor appointments. I was a loyal customer. I made a Mother's Day appointment for myself and my 2 young daughters. They quickly did my girls nails and had me sit waiting almost an hour after my appointment time. They took many customers before me. Every time I asked when I would be helped they kept pushing me off. One tech took my gel off and then I sat and waited again. I had to leave and she even charged me for gel removal. terrible service to get your nails done. You tell them how they want them shaped which they have a picture of it and they don't even shape them. nails were jagged and rough. Had to go home and file file them myself. Then when I checked out they overcharge you I received a gel polish change on fingernails which is $27 and they charge me $33 because they said they had to take off the gel, so they don't even go by what their prices say. Will never go back to there salon again and would recommend other people not to go there. They do not take time they rush. They don't shape your nails if I wouldn't have them round them a little more they would've looked terrible. They would've been pointy. awful service read more

Splurged for their top tier service and left disappointed. During pedicure tech performed service as if it were an inconvenience. She seemed uninterested in providing an experience worth the cost. My manicure was just as lackluster. I opted for a buff rather than polish. She did one out of the four steps so I left with nails anything but glistening.
