We stopped in before our long road trip home. This place is spacious and has a menu for even the most picky eater. Our waitress was attentive and patient and helped us find the right choices. We decided on an egg breakfast croissant sandwich and breakfast hash brown bowl with eggs and side of pancakes. Who doesn't want a pancake? The food came out fresh and our coffees never got below 1/2 a cup. The portions were very fair for the price and overall it was a great meal just as the snow flurries started to fall. This place is solid. Good to great service with a nice interior. The coffee is very good. I have been here a lot as it's on the way to family and a favorite meet between breakfast or lunch spot. I've had their omelette, egg bowls, and pancakes and things are always quite good. For sides: get the hash browns over the American fries. Get the toast over the pancakes. A little too modern inside for me- I ordered biscuits and gravy and it was very dry and luke warm- I'll give it another go!

Atmosphere is warm and friendly; very family oriented. Service is quick and the people are extremely helpful. What once was a truck stop is now a great family restaurant. I had stuffed French toast with strawberries and they were scrumptious. Servings well proportioned. It would be nice if they added some soft, easy music. read more

When I walked in, I was surprised. The restaurant is big with trendy decor. We had very friendly service and our food came out quick. The chicken and dumpling soup tasted homemade. My BLT wasn't anything fancy but really good. My hubby said his French toast, eggs, bacon and hash browns were tasty. Very reasonable prices. We drive 20 miles to have breakfast at the Cafe. It is worth the drive! The service, food and atmosphere is fantastic. I always order the breakfast bowl and there is so much food that I bring 1/2 home. The food is fresh and cooked just right. It truly is a must stop and experience. My family and I really enjoy getting breakfast here. The ladies are wonderful and the kitchen staff make an amazing omelette that isn't dried out and each ingredient shines. They remember your order and are always welcoming. The breakfast comes with a lot and we always have leftovers, which we actually eat! They are incredibly accommodating for food allergies, without extra cost, unlike other restaurants; like swapping fruit for bacon. I cannot give 5* because I have only had breakfast there. Tip: if they are busy it might take a while to get seated, but food does come out quick and they never rush you out the door. read more

This place is a best kept secret halfway between Door County, WI and Chicago! It's new (2 yrs), spotless and the breakfast bowls and toast we had was OUTSTANDING! We stopped for lunch and what outstanding changes were made since it was Hobo's! The atmosphere was less "truck stop" and more "family cafe". They have a large staff that kept tables waited on, cleared off then set up again. Our server "Dani" was so nice and an excellent server. The food was very good and reasonably prices. We had our first meal from them last night. Delicious! We each had the Cod Fish Fry, one with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and the other with French Fries.. The fish were very flaky and nicely breaded. We also had garlic bread which was chunky and very good! Our eating utensils looked like silverware, a nice touch. We also had the Chicken Dumpling Soup and Clam Chowder. Absolutely stop here on your travels! Freshly made crepes with fresh blueberries; the waiter went looking for fresh berries for me instead of the fruit glaze.
