I came in as a walk-in for a pedicure, and right away I was impressed--not only did they take me in quickly, but I didn't have to wait 30-40 minutes for an appointment like I usually do at Tori Nails. The salon is beautifully designed--modern, clean, and well-lit. Everything felt updated, and the chairs looked brand new and super luxurious. I went with their most deluxe package, and it did not disappoint. It came with a tray of oranges, scrubs, lotions, and salts that all smelled amazing--such a nice touch. Laura was my nail tech, and she was incredibly sweet and attentive. She checked in often to make sure I was comfortable, asked if I needed water, and made sure the temperature was just right. She was also very gentle during the exfoliation and scrubbing, which I really appreciated. When it came to polish, she made sure I liked the base color before moving forward--good thing she did, because I ended up switching it. I got a French tip with a flower design, and she took her time with every detail. My toes came out absolutely beautiful. 10/10 would recommend. It looked just liked the picture and she was also able to execute the requests I made. I have seen different people for my pedicure. Who ever is available at the time and it's been good. It has taken longer than my usual spot that I go to. I was looking to do builder gel for the first time and I decided to check out this salon. It's very clean, and they took me in right away for my appointment. I woke up feeling like I should get my nails done asap. It's my very first builder gel with extensions and I must say...I'm in trouble because I LOVE IT! Builder gel feels more natural and light for me. I added extensions so that I can get used to typing with these sets with grace. I did quite a bit of research between hard gel, soft gel and even acrylic but I went with builder gel because I want my natural nails to grow stronger. I wanted to match my jade bracelet and lunar new design since it's coming and I have an excuse to come back for fill. Natalie was my nail tech, and she was awesome. If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. I got a birthday coupon for 10% off and thought it would be nice to treat myself to a classic pedicure. I was seated fairly quickly but from there the experience just went downhill. Right when the pedicure began, the attendant immediately started pushing me to add a callus treatment. I didn't even know what it was for at first. She eventually explained it was for scrubbing the bottom of the feet. I felt pressured and ended up agreeing even though I didn't really want it. The worst part came when she started digging too hard into my left big toe. I asked her to stop but she kept going and actually made it bleed. This happened on the morning of my birthday so you can imagine how that set the tone for the day. Instead of using a proper antiseptic, they just dabbed on some random liquid and no one even offered an apology. When I went to check out, I noticed they had champagne for guests but no one had offered me even water, not to mention champagne, even though it was my birthday. I had to ask for it myself. Now my toe is swollen and I'm worried it might be infected. This was supposed to be a treat and it turned out to be a painful and upsetting experience. I absolutely do not recommend this place. I won't be going back and honestly regret spending any money here. I usually avoid leaving extremely negative reviews but this experience was just too awful to ignore and potentially unsafe. read more

This was by far the most gentle and careful nail removal I've ever experienced, which is a breath of fresh air since I've been scarred by rough removals at other shops in Mira Mesa. Ultimate Pedicure almost took a full hour... and when they took off my gel nail polish- she filed my skin, ouch! So now I have open wounds and I guess part of their pedicures they rub lemons and oranges all over the feet and legs. So- my fresh cuts were stinging.. First time trying this place a month ago and I had a great experience. The place was clean and everyone was friendly. The service they provided was great as well. I went with a friend and my daughter and we all had a good time. They also offer free drinks. I got a pedicure and my daughter got her nails done. We went during their 20% happy hour time since it's under new management and I think that was a steal! So of course I had to try it and I'm glad I did. The ladies who did our pedicure were so kind and gentle with us. I wish I remembered their name to give them a shout out but I forgot :(. On May 5th I got a full gel x set done. It was perfect and cute and I loved it. I went in today for a fill. I mentioned to the girl doing my nails that I was having trouble with some of them, but I thought it would be fixed with some filing. As soon as the polish was filed off we both quickly saw that the nail itself was coming off on the sides and she said that she would need to replace them. I only mentioned two that were bothering me but she said there were about 4-5 nails that all had similar issues. This was my first fill after a full set. She called the manager who said that a NEW full set would need to be done and I was shocked. I've always gotten my nails done and never had to do a new full set after a full set was just placed. I asked the manager since this was unexpected and I literally just had a full set done if she could provide a discount for a returning customer. She refused. I nicely asked the girl to take off my nails and took my money elsewhere. Normally I do not review places but this really made me upset today. I have been getting my nails done for years and never had an issue like this. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It would be courteous of businesses to be a bit more sympathetic to their returning customers especially in circumstances like these.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will not be returning to this establishment nor am I looking for a replacement for my nails from this establishment, but salons need to do better with their quality. I hate to leave bad reviews but my daughter had an appointment down the street was gonna be busy for an hour so I came in to get my toes done. The nail salon had great reviews so I thought I'd have a great experience. Here are some pictures of how much paint is out of the cuticles and this is immediately after having my toenails done. I took it out my nail scraper because of my big toe, there was Pete all over the cuticles so I went to scrape it off. She didn't even clip my cuticles. This is right after I had my toes done all that skin around my toenail, clean under my toenails on my big toes. My big toes were cut to a square so they were, I had to come home and file them out of the corners because they were so sharp at the side of my foot. Defeats going to get your toenails done somewhere when they do a sloppy job like this. Can see from the paint how bad it is. I paid $47 for this sloppy pedicure the only thing I added was callous removal. read more

3rd visit. Located adjacent to Lucky Seafood (and near the new Aldi). I called a few nail salons on my way home near the 15, hoping one could take me last minute. Got turned down by the first two but fortunately landed on Luxe :) Tina and Christine worked in tandem on my hands and feet. They are both lovely and efficient ladies who made sure things were of the right temp and pressure during the massage portions of my visit. Small and clean salon; I witnessed the other ladies cleaning the basins and work stations diligently while the boss was away; very pleased to see that. During the process you can close your eyes and relax in the massage chairs or have lively conversation with the nail techs. Robust check in and check out computer system. This place accepts Venmo and Zelle as well; note that using cards may incur 2% more. It's a smidge bit more in cost for a deluxe gel mani pedi but the pampering, efficiency, ability to take me as a walk in last minute, and most of all outcome--is worth it. read more

This was my first time here. I branched out from my normal place. It's a pretty salon but there's so many areas for improvement.. I wanted to get up and walk out. First they told me my dip is $45... cool but then they wanted to charge me $7 for the dip fill?? like you have to file them down regardless and that's usually part of the cost... so right then i decide I'll just get my toes done here and not do my nails. She didn't even paint my toes all the way and my other toes are just messy and sloppy! She bumped my big toe with her sweater which left little fuzzy indents and just painted right over it... lol. I don't get the hype of this place or maybe i came on a bad day. I did not even want to pay for what i got but i just decided to pay for this and not come back. I should've stuck with my regular place at Tiffany's! UPDATE** - Kristen and the lady who painted my toes did come to check on things once my review hit.. they were eager to resolve the issue at hand and did make it right with adding more paint / touching up areas. I did appreciate that a lot. I'd come back here for a pedicure but for them to charge $7 to file paint with dip - I'll stick to my regular spot for nails. I'm used to that being part of the service which is why i always get clear dip anyways. I think it'll be worth a shot to give them a try.. what works for some may not work for others. PSA - if you don't have the heart to speak up during a bad service just don't come here. Gel mani, regular pedicure took almost 2 hours. The pedicurist kept on taking off and starting the polish over. It was painful to watch and I didn't have to heart to speak up. My gel manicure peeled off of multiple fingers, I had to come back to fix it. Sure it was a free fix but I already spent 2 hours there and, i noticed the peeled nail as I was driving to another apt.. so it wasn't like I could just have them fix it right away. I had to come back for them to fix it and it's just a real inconvenience. I have bandaid on my thumb right now because it was cut, and just right now (11pm) I noticed discomfort on my big toe.. looked at with a light and yep it's red and inflamed so pretty sure I have an infection now too. Freaking out because I'm going on vacation soon. Sigh this just wasn't it. And no I didn't message the owner or ask for a refund or anything I just want to share my experience. I sadly branched out from my normal place and tried to go here, and gosh. I wanted to like it & I feel guilty writing this but I feel like I just have to give the people a heads up. I called Luxe nails once I returned from abroad and they were very accommodating in booking me an appointment to re-do my nails free of charge since they do not offer refunds. I was told that the nail tech that previously did my nails no longer works there. Kristin, the manager, redid my dip powder nails and went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with the shape, and checked in with me to make sure I was satisfied before moving to the next step. The application looks flawless and she did a great job filing them down so they don't look chunky. They look so professional and I'm really happy with how this situation was handled. We determined that the first time I came in, most likely the cuticle oil that was used prior to the dip powder application was not completely removed which caused the product to not adhere and then bubbles formed and they peeled off easily. Hoping their other nail techs are aware of this. read more
